1Degradation of chlorpyrifos in laboratory soil and its impact on soil microbial functional diversity显示文摘Degradation of chlorpyrifos at different concentrations in soil and its impact on soil microbial functional diversity were investigated under laboratory condition.The degradation half-live of chlorpyrifos at levels of 4,8,and 12 mg/kg in soil were calculated to be 14.3,16.7,and 18.0 d,respectively.The Biolog study showed that the average well color development(AWCD) in soils was significantly(P < 0.05) inhibited by chlorpyrifos within the first two weeks and thereafter recovered to a similar level as the control.A similar variation in the diversity indices(Simpson index 1/D and McIntosh index U) was observed,but no significant difference among the values of the Shannon-Wiener index H was found in chlorpyrifos-treated soils.With an increasing chlorpyrifos concentration,the half-life of chlorpyrifos was significantly(P 0.05) extended and its inhibitory effect on soil microorganisms was aggravated.It is concluded that chlorpyrifos residues in soil had a temporary or short-term inhibitory effect on soil microbial functional diversity.FANG Hua YU Yunlong CHU Xiaoqiang WANG Xiuguo YANG Xiaoe YU Jingquan 2009Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,3:25
2Neuroprotective effect of ischemic preconditioning in focal cerebral infarction: relationship with upregulation of vascular endothelial growth factor显示文摘Neuroprotection by ischemic preconditioning has been confirmed by many studies, but the precise mechanism remains unclear. In the present study, we performed cerebral ischemic preconditioning in rats by simulating a transient ischemic attack twice(each a 20-minute occlusion of the middle cerebral artery) before inducing focal cerebral infarction(2 hour occlusion-reperfusion in the same artery). We also explored the mechanism underlying the neuroprotective effect of ischemic preconditioning. Seven days after occlusion-reperfusion, tetrazolium chloride staining and immunohistochemistry revealed that the infarct volume was significantly smaller in the group that underwent preconditioning than in the model group. Furthermore, vascular endothelial growth factor immunoreactivity was considerably greater in the hippocampal CA3 region of preconditioned rats than model rats. 3Transcriptomic and genetic approaches reveal an essential role of the NAC transcription factor SlNAP1 in the growth and defense response of tomato显示文摘With global climate change,plants are frequently being exposed to various stresses,such as pathogen attack,drought,and extreme temperatures.Transcription factors(TFs)play crucial roles in numerous plant biological processes;however,the functions of many tomato(Solanum lycopersicum L.)TFs that regulate plant responses to multiple stresses are largely unknown.Here,using an RNA-seq approach,we identified SlNAP1,a NAC TF-encoding gene,which was strongly induced by various stresses.By generating SlNAP1 transgenic lines and evaluating their responses to biotic and abiotic stresses in tomato,we found that SlNAP1-overexpressing plants showed significantly enhanced defense against two widespread bacterial diseases,leaf speck disease,caused by Pseudomonas syringae pv.tomato(Pst)DC3000,and root-borne bacterial wilt disease,caused by Ralstonia solanacearum.In addition,SlNAP1 overexpression dramatically improved drought tolerance in tomato.Although the SlNAP1-overexpressing plants were shorter than the wild-type plants during the early vegetative stage,eventually,their fruit yield increased by 10.7%.Analysis of different hormone contents revealed a reduced level of physiologically active gibberellins(GAs)and an increased level of salicylic acid(SA)and abscisic acid(ABA)in the SlNAP1-overexpressing plants.Moreover,EMSAs and ChIP-qPCR assays showed that SlNAP1 directly activated the transcription of multiple genes involved in GA deactivation and both SA and ABA biosynthesis.Our findings reveal that SlNAP1 is a positive regulator of the tomato defense response against multiple stresses and thus may be a potential breeding target for improving crop yield and stress resistance.Jiao Wang Chenfei Zheng Xiangqi Shao Zhangjian Hu Jianxin Li Ping Wang Anran Wang Jingquan Yu Kai Shi 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:9
4Using in situ REE analysis to study the origin and diagenesis of dolomite of Lower Paleozoic,Tarim Basin显示文摘In situ REE concentrations of various dolomites from Tarim Basin were obtained by LA-ICP-MS analysis,and the data were normalized to standard seawater(Seawater Normalized=SWN).Most of the samples have a ΣREE range of less than 20 ppm.All samples show similar REESWN distributions with heavy REE depletion,and positive Ce anomaly,which indicates that they have the same dolomitization fluids(seawater).According to the origin and diagenetic process of dolomite,two types of dolomite are determined and described as follows:1) syndepositional dolomite,with the highest REE concentrations(more than 20 ppm),the cores of which are more enriched in REE compared with their cortexes,indicating that they underwent the dolomitization of calcareous sediments by hypersaline and subsequent diagenesis decreased the REE content of the cortex because of the low REE concentration of the diagenetic fluids;2) diagenetic dolomite,which can be subdivided into four groups.(1) burial dolomite which has higher REE concentrations than limestone,but lower than syndepositional dolomite.This shows that pore fluids with high salinity dolomitized the pre-existing limestone;(2) void filling dolomite which has the similar REE patterns with the matrix dolomite.In addition,the Eu anomaly is not obvious,suggesting that the dolomitization fluids originated from the diagenetic fluids;(3) recrystallized dolomite,whose REE concentration was obviously decreased,indicating that the REE concentration was decreased during the recrystallization processes;and(4) hydrothermal altered void-filling dolomite,which has the lowest REE concentration,but obvious positive Eu anomaly,reflecting its hydrothermal activity related origin.Thus,the diverse REE signatures,which were recorded in different dolomites,retain the information of their formation conditions and subsequent diagenetic processes.In situ REE analysis of dolomite is an effective probe into the origin and diagenetic process of dolomite.WANG XiaoLin JIN ZhiJun HU WenXuan ZHANG JunTao QIAN YiXiong ZHU JingQuan LI Qing 2009Science China Earth Sciences2009,52,5:7
5Quantitative features of myoelectric signals in the orbicularis oculi muscle during different motion states显示文摘Artificial facial nerve prostheses are thought to restore eye-closed function in peripheral facial paralysis patients. At present,however,there is no adequate quantitative or qualitative information regarding myoelectric signal(MES) features for healthy orbicularis oculi muscle(OOM) . The present study analyzed MES features of normal OOM in rabbits during the natural continuous eye-opening(N1) state,natural continuous eye-closing(N2) state,natural blink(N3) state,and evoked eye-closing(E) state according to time domain and frequency domain analysis. Results showed that OOM electrical activities in N1 and N2 states,as well as myoelectric amplitude,were low and stable. Nevertheless,during N3 and E states,OOM electrical activities were significantly increased and amplitude was much higher in the E state than in the N3 state. In the time domain,differences in MES peak absolute potential were not significant between N1 and N2 states. In the frequency domain,differences in power spectral density peak frequency of electromyogram signals were significant between two sets of four OOM movement states. These results suggest that OOM significantly contracts and induces eyelid-closing action. In addition,OOM is diastolic during the N1 state. A N2 state does not require continuous intensive OOM contraction. 6VO2·0.2H2O nanocuboids anchored onto graphene sheets as the cathode material for ultrahigh capacity aqueous zinc ion batteries显示文摘Aqueous Zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs),using zinc negative electrode and aqueous electrolyte,have attracted great attention in energy storage field due to the reliable safety and low-cost.A composite material comprised of VO2·0.2H2O nanocuboids anchored on graphene sheets(VOG)is synthesized through a facile and efficient microwave-assisted solvothermal strategy and is used as aqueous ZIBs cathode material.Owing to the synergistic effects between the high conductivity of graphene sheets and the desirable structural features of VO2·0.2H2O nanocuboids,the VOG electrode has excellent electronic and ionic transport ability,resulting in superior Zn ions storage performance.The Zn/VOG system delivers ultrahigh specific capacity of 423 mAh·g^−1 at 0.25 A·g^−1 and exhibits good cycling stability of up to 1,000 cycles at 8 A·g^−1 with 87%capacity retention.Systematical structural and elemental characterizations confirm that the interlayer space of VO2·0.2H2O nanocuboids can adapt to the reversible Zn ions insertion/extraction.The as-prepared VOG composite is a promising cathode material with remarkable electrochemical performance for low-cost and safe aqueous rechargeable ZIBs.Dedong Jia Kun Zheng Ming Song Hua Tan Aitang Zhang Lihua Wang Lijun Yue Da Li Chenwei Li Jingquan Liu 2020Nano Research2020,13,1:6
7Non-noble metal single-atom catalysts prepared by wet chemical method and their applications in electrochemical water splitting显示文摘Water splitting by electrolysis is an appealing pathway for sustainable hydrogen production. The practical performance of water splitting is highly dependent on the efficiency of electrocatalysts, which can promote the anodic oxygen evolution reaction(OER) or cathodic hydrogen evolution reaction(HER). Downsizing the metal nanostructures to atomic level to construct single-atom catalysts(SACs) has attracted enormous attention due to its distinct advantages in maximizing the efficiency of metal atom utilization and enhancing activity over corresponding metal nanoparticles. Research on SACs towards electrochemical water splitting application is an emerging field and intensive investigations have been focused on their rational syntheses and applications in HER/OER. In this review, we focus on the wet chemical method developed to prepare non-noble metal based SACs with an emphasis on the synthetic strategies and structure-activity relationship between single metal atoms and catalytic activity. 12Brassinosteroid signaling positively regulates abscisic acid biosynthesis in response to chilling stress in tomato显示文摘Brassinosteroids(BRs)and abscisic acid(ABA)are essential regulators of plant growth and stress tolerance.Although the antagonistic interaction of BRs and ABA is proposed to ensure the balance between growth and defense in model plants,the crosstalk between BRs and ABA in response to chilling in tomato(Solanum lycopersicum),a warmclimate horticultural crop,is unclear.Here,we determined that overexpression of the BR biosynthesis gene DWARF(DWF)or the key BR signaling gene BRASSINAZOLE-RESISTANT1(BZR1)increases ABA levels in response to chilling stress via positively regulating the expression of the ABA biosynthesis gene 9-CIS-EPOXYCAROTENOID DIOXYGENASE1(NCED1).BR-induced chilling tolerance was mostly dependent on ABA biosynthesis.Chilling stress or high BR levels decreased the abundance of BRASSINOSTEROID-INSENSITIVE2(BIN2),a negative regulator of BR signaling.Moreover,we observed that chilling stress increases BR levels and results in the accumulation of BZR1.BIN2negatively regulated both the accumulation of BZR1protein and chilling tolerance by suppressing ABA biosynthesis.Our results demonstrate that BR signaling positively regulates chilling tolerance via ABA biosynthesis in tomato.The study has implications in production of warm-climate crops in horticulture.Shengmin An Yue Liu Kangqi Sang Ting Wang Jingquan Yu Yanhong Zhou Xiaojian Xia 2023Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,1:4

14Flexible polyimide-based hybrid optoelectric neural interface with 16 channels of micro-LEDs and electrodes显示文摘In this paper,a polyimide-based flexible device that integrates 16 micro-LEDs and 16 IrO_(x)-modified microelectrodes for synchronous photostimulation and neural signal recording is presented.The 4×4 micro-LEDs(dimensions of 220×270×50μm^(3),700μm pitch)are fixed in the SU-8 fence structure on a polyimide substrate and connected to the leads via a wire-bonding method.The recording electrodes share a similar fabrication process on the polyimide with 16 microelectrode sites(200μm in diameter and 700μm in pitch)modified by iridium oxide(IrO_(x)).These two subparts can be aligned with alignment holes and glued back-to-back by epoxy,which ensures that the light from the LEDs passes through the corresponding holes that are evenly distributed around the recording sites.The long-term electrical and optical stabilities of the device are verified using a soaking test for 3 months,and the thermal property is specifically studied with different duty cycles,voltages,and frequencies.Additionally,the electrochemical results prove the reliability of the IrO_(x)-modified microelectrodes after repeated pressing or friction.To evaluate the tradeoff between flexibility and strength,two microelectrode arrays with thicknesses of 5 and 10μm are evaluated through simulation and experiment.The proposed device can be a useful mapping optogenetics tool for neuroscience studies in small(rats and mice)and large animal subjects and ultimately in nonhuman primates.Bowen Ji Zhejun Guo Minghao Wang Bin Yang Xiaolin Wang Wen Li Jingquan Liu 2018Microsystems & Nanoengineering2018,4,1:3
15Artificial facial nerve reflex restores eyelid closure following orbicularis oculi muscle denervation显示文摘To date,treatment of peripheral facial paralysis has focused on preservation of facial nerve integrity.However,with seriously damaged facial nerve cases,it is difficult to recover anatomical and functional integrity using present therapies.Therefore,the present study utilized artificial facial nerve reflex to obtain orbicularis oculi muscle(OOM) electromyography signals on the uninjured side through the use of implanted recording electrodes.The implanted electrical chips analyzed facial muscle motion on the uninjured side and triggered an electrical stimulator to emit current pulses,which resulted in stimulation of injured OOM contraction and maintained bilateral symmetry and consistency.Following signal recognition,extraction,and computer analysis,electromyography signals in the uninjured OOM resulted in complete eyelid closure,which was consistent with the voltage threshold for eye closure.These findings suggested that artificial facial nerve reflex through the use of implanted microelectronics in unilateral peripheral facial paralysis could restore eyelid closure following orbicularis oculi muscle denervation.Yujuan Wang Keyong Li Jingquan Liu Dongyue Xu Yuefeng Rui Chunsheng Yang 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,22:3
16Benzo[a]pyrene stimulates miR-650 expression to promote the pathogenesis of fatty liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma via SOCS3/JAK/STAT3 cascades显示文摘Modern diets,which often feature high levels of fat and charcoal-grilled meat,contribute to the pathogenesis of obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),resulting in liver cancer progression.Benzo(a)pyrene(B[a]P)is a common environ-mental and foodborne pollutant found in smoke and fire-grilled foods,which can have an adverse effect on human health.Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the fifth leading cause of cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide.The epidemiological studies suggest that both environmental risk factors and chronic liver injury including NAFL are important for HCC development,but the precise mechanisms linking eating habits to hepato-carcinogenesis remain unclear.In the present study,we demonstrated that various miRNAs in B[a]P-exposed tumor cells contribute to tumor metastasis,among which miR-650 could be the most potent inducer.Furthermore,we found that the suppressor of cytokine signaling 3(SOCS3)is directly regulated by miR-650 and its suppression regulates the activation of the Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (JAK/STAT3)cascade.Our findings reveal a possible adverse outcome pathway of SOCS3/JAK/STAT3 regulation in B[a]P-induced HCC progress.These results provide a better understanding of the adverse effects of chronic exposure to B[a]P on human health.Yang Ge Pengfei Gu Wenbo Wang Liyuan Cao Lulu Zhang Jingquan Li Wei Mu Hui Wang 2021Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2021,13,8:3
17Behavior and strength of headed stud shear connectors in ultra-high performance concrete of composite bridges显示文摘This study presents an experimental and numerical investigation on the static behavior of headed stud shear connectors in ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) of composite bridges. Four push-out specimens were tested. It was found that no cracking, crushing or splitting was observed on the concrete slab, indicating that UHPC slab exhibited good performance and could resist the high force transferred from the headed studs. The numerical and experimental results indicated that the shear capacity is supposed to be composed of two parts stud shank shear contribution and concrete wedge block shear contribution. The stiffness increment of a stud in UHPC was at least 60% higher than that in normal strength concrete. Even if the stud height was reduced from 6d to 2d, there was no reduction in the shear strength of a stud. Short stud shear connectors with an aspect ratio as small as 2 could develop full strength in UHPC slabs. An empirical load-slip equation taking into account stud diameter was proposed to predict the load-slip response of a stud. 18Insight into the role of binding interaction in the transformation of tetracycline and toxicity distribution显示文摘The transformation of free state organic micro-pollutants(MPs)has been widely studied;however,few studies have focused on mixed and bound states MPs,even though numerous ionizable organic MPs process a strong tendency to combine with dissolved organic matters in aquatic environments.This study systemically investigated the distribution and toxicity assessment of tetracycline(TET)transformation products in free,mixed and bound states during UV,UV/H2O2,UV/PS and CNTs/PS processes.A total of 33 major transformation products were identified by UPLC-Q-TOF-MSMS analysis,combining the double bond equivalence and aromaticity index calculations.The binding interaction would weaken the attack on the dimethylamino(-N(CH3)2)group and induce the direct destruction of rings A and B of TET through the analysis of 2D Kernel Density changes and density functional theory(DFT)calculations.Toxicity assessment and statistics revealed that the intermediate products with medium molecular weight(230m/z380)exhibited higher toxicity,which was closely related to the number of the rings in molecular structures(followed as 2»3>1z4).A predicted toxicity accumulation model(PTAM)was established to evaluate the overall toxicity changes during various oxidation processes.This finding provides new insight into the fate of bound MPs during various oxidation processes in the natural water matrix.Bo Yang Xin Cheng Yongli Zhang Wei Li Jingquan Wang Hongguang Guo 2021Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2021,,4:3
