1Special Section:SARS-CoV-2 Preliminary evidence from a multicenter prospective observational study of the safety and efficacy of chloroquine for the treatment of COVID-19显示文摘Effective therapies are urgently needed for the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.Chloroquine has been proved to have antiviral effect against coronavirus in vitro.In this study,we aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of chloroquine with different doses in COVID-19.In this multicenter prospective observational study,we enrolled patients older than 18 years old with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection excluding critical cases from 12 hospitals in Guangdong and Hubei Provinces.Eligible patients received chloroquinephosphate s00 mg,orally,once(half dose)or twice(full dose)daily.Patients treated with non-chloroquine therapy were included as historical controls.The primary endpoint is the time to undetectable viral RNA.Secondary outcomes include the proportion of patients with undetectable viral RNA by day 10 and 14,hospitalization time,duration of fever,and adverse events.A total of 197 patients completed chloroquine treatment,and 176patients were included as historical controls.The median time to achieve an undetectable viral RNA was shorter in chloroquine than in non-chloroquine(absolute difference in medians-6.0 days;95%CI-6.0 to—4.0).The duration of fever is shorter in chloroquine(geometric mean ratio 0.6;95%CIO.5 to 0.8).No serious adverse events were observed in the chloroquine group.Patients treated with half dose experienced lower rate of adverse events than with full dose.Although randomized trials are needed for further evaluation,this study provides evidence for safety and efficacy of chloroquine in COVID-19 and suggests that chloroquine can be a cost-effective therapy for combating the COVID-19 pandemic.Mingxing Huang Man Li Fei Xiao Pengfei Pang Jiabi Liang Tiantian Tang Shaoxuan Liu Binghui Chen Jingxian Shu Yingying You Yang Li Meiwen Tang Jianhui Zhou Guanmin Jiang Jingfen Xiang Wenxin Hong Songmei He Zhaoqin Wang Jianhua Feng Changqing Lin Yinong Ye Zhilong Wu Yaocai Li Bei Zhong Ruilin Sun Zhongsi Hong Jing Liu Huili Chen Xiaohua Wang Zhonghe Li Duanqing Pei Lin Tian Jinyu Xia Shanping Jiang Nanshan Zhong Hong Shan 2020National Science Review2020,7,9:20

3NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF FINE PARTICLE SEPARATION IN A ROTATIONAL TUBE SEPARATOR显示文摘This paper presents a numerical analysis of gas-solid separation in a rotational tube separator. This separator which collects fine particles from gas in laminar flow is effective for fine particle separation. The separation efficiency and critical particle diameter of the separator were simulated using CFD package (FLUENT 6.0). The simulation showed that separation efficiency can be significantly decreased due to the presence of turbulence. The simulation also showed that the Saffman lift force has little effect on the efficiency of this separator. The critical particle diameter of this tube separator was also calculated theoretically. Some experimental data were provided to validate the simulation results. 5An investigation of the persistence property of wind power time series显示文摘Mining the inherent persistence property of the time series of wind power is crucial for forecasting and controlling wind power.Few common methods exist that can fully depict and quantify the persistence property.Based on the definition of the active power output state of a wind farm,this paper describes the statistical persistence property of the duration time and state transition.Based on the results of our analysis of significant amounts of wind power field measurements,it is found that the duration time of wind power conforms to an inverse Gaussian distribution.Additionally,the state transition matrix of wind power is discovered to yield a ridge property,the gradient of which is related to the time scale of interest.A systemaic methodology is proposed accordingly,allowing the statistical characteristics of the wind power series to be represented appropriately.SUN HaiShun LI JiaMing LI JingHua Wu Tong WEN JinYu XIE HaiLian YUE ChengYan 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,8:5
6Whole Genome Analyses of Chinese Population and De Novo Assembly of A Northern Han Genome显示文摘To unravel the genetic mechanisms of disease and physiological traits,it requires comprehensive sequencing analysis of large sample size in Chinese populations.Here,we report the primary results of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Precision Medicine Initiative(CASPMI)project launched by the Chinese Academy of Sciences,including the de novo assembly of a northern Han reference genome(NH1.0)and whole genome analyses of 597 healthy people coming from most areas in China.Given the two existing reference genomes for Han Chinese(YH and HX1)were both from the south,we constructed NH1.0,a new reference genome from a northern individual,by combining the sequencing strategies of PacBio,10×Genomics,and Bionano mapping.Using this integrated approach,we obtained an N50 scaffold size of 46.63 Mb for the NH1.0 genome and performed a comparative genome analysis of NH1.0 with YH and HX1.In order to generate a genomic variation map of Chinese populations,we performed the whole-genome sequencing of 597 participants and identified 24.85 million(M)single nucleotide variants(SNVs),3.85 M small indels,and 106,382 structural variations.In the association analysis with collected phenotypes,we found that the T allele of rs1549293 in KAT8 significantly correlated with the waist circumference in northern Han males.Moreover,significant genetic diversity in MTHFR,TCN2,FADS1,and FADS2,which associate with circulating folate,vitamin B12,or lipid metabolism,was observed between northerners and southerners.Especially,for the homocysteine-increasing allele of rs1801133(MTHFR 677T),we hypothesize that there exists a “comfort”zone for a high frequency of 677T between latitudes of 35–45 degree North.Taken together,our results provide a high-quality northern Han reference genome and novel population-specific data sets of genetic variants for use in the personalized and precision medicine.Zhenglin Du Liang Ma Hongzhu Qu Wei Chen Bing Zhang Xi Lu Weibo Zhai Xin Sheng Yongqiao Sun Wenjie Li Meng Lei Qiuhui Qi Na Yuan Shuo Shi Jingyao Zeng Jinyue Wang Yadong Yang Qi Liu Yaqiang Hong Lili Dong Zhewen Zhang Dong Zou Yanqing Wang Shuhui Song Fan Liu Xiangdong Fang Hua Chen Xin Liu Jingfa Xiao Changqing Zeng 2019Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2019,17,3:4
7The metastable constituent effects on size-dependent deformation behavior of nanolaminated micropillars: Cu/FeCoCrNi vs Cu/CuZr显示文摘Metastable high entropy alloys(HEAs) and amorphous metallic glasses(MGs), with the chemical disordered character, are intensively studied due to their excellent performance. Here, we introduce Cu to separately constrain these two metastable materials and comparatively investigate their deformation behaviors and mechanical properties of Cu/HEA Fe Co Cr Ni and Cu/MG Cu Zr nanolaminated micropillars in terms of intrinsic layer thickness h and extrinsic pillar diameter D. The metastable HEA layers, as the hard phase in Cu/HEA micropillars, are stable and dominate the deformation, while transformation(crystallization) occurs in MG which plays a minor role in deformation of Cu/MG micropillars. The h-controlled deformation mode transits from the D-independent homogenous-like deformation at large h to the Ddependent shear banding at small h in both Cu/HEA and Cu/MG micropillars. Although both Cu/HEA and Cu/MG micropillars exhibit a maximum strain hardening capability controlled by h, the former manifests much lower hardening capability compared with the latter. The intrinsic size h and extrinsic size D have a strong coupling effect on the strength of Cu/HEA and Cu/MG micropillars. The strength of strength of Cu/HEA micropillars exhibits the D-dependent transition from 'smaller is stronger' to 'smaller is weaker'with increasing h. 8Genomic landscapes of Chinese sporadic autism spectrum disordersrevealed by whole-genome sequencing显示文摘Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder with considerable clinical and genetic heterogeneity.In this study,we identified all classes of genomic variants from whole-genome sequencing (WGS) dataset of 32 Chinese trios with ASD,including de novo mutations,inherited variants,copy number variants (CNVs) and genomic structural variants.A higher mutation rate (Poisson test,P<2.2×10^(-16)) in exonic (1.37×10^(-8)) and 3'-UTR regions (1.42×10^(-8)) was revealed in comparison with that of whole genome (1.05×10^(-8)).Using an integrated model,we identified 87 potentially risk genes (P<0.01) from 4832 genes harboring various rare deleterious variants,including CHD8 and NRXN2,implying that the disorders may be in favor to multiple-hit.In particular,frequent rare inherited mutations of several microcephaly-associated genes (ASPM,WDR62,and ZNF335)were found in ASD.In chromosomal structure analyses,we found four de novo CNVs and one de novo chromosomal rearrangement event,including a de novo duplication of UBE3A-containing region at 15q11.2-q13.1,which causes Angelman syndrome and microcephaly,and a disrupted TNR due to de novo chromosomal translocation t (1;5) (q25.1;q33.2).Taken together,our results suggest that abnormalities of centrosomal function and chromatin remodeling of the microcephaly-associated genes may be implicated in pathogenesis of ASD.Adoption of WGS as a new yet efficient technique to illustrate the full genetic spectrum in complex disorders,such as ASD,could provide novel insights into pathogenesis,diagnosis and treatment.Jinyu Wu Ping Yu Xin Jin Xiu Xu Jinchen Li Zhongshan Li Mingbang Wang Tao Wang Xueli Wu Yi Jiang Wanshi Cai Junpu Mei Qingjie Min Qiong Xu Bingrui Zhou Hui Guo Ping Wang Wenhao Zhou Zhengmao Hu Yingrui Li Tao Cai Yi Wang Kun Xia Yong-Hui Jiang Zhong Sheng Sun 2018Journal of Genetics and Genomics2018,45,10:3

10Deformation mechanisms, microstructural evolution and mechanical properties in small-scaled face-centered-cubic metallic thin films显示文摘Metallic thin films have attracted much attention owing to their unique mechanical properties,which are widely used in micro-/nano-devices.In this review,several key topics about the thin films in the micron to nano-scales are covered.First,the plastic deformation mechanisms in face-centered-cubic(FCC)metals,in particular the sizedependent deformation twinning at small scales,are discussed based on a deformation-mechanism map.Microstructural evolution is then briefly discussed from the perspective of the ratio of effective-to-internal stresses,while the stress-driven grain growth is discussed based on a twinning-mediated mechanism.The last section elucidates the size-dependent mechanical properties of metallic thin films,such as yield strength,ductility and mechanical fatigue behavior.Jinyu Zhang Gang Liu Jun Sun 2020Nano Materials Science2020,2,1:2
11Petrogenesis of Jurassic Granitoids on Liaodong Peninsula,Northeast China:Constraints on the Evolution of the Mongol-Okhotsk and Pacific Tectonic Regimes显示文摘The tectonic setting of Jurassic magmatism in the Northeast China(NE China)is unclear.Here,we present new petrological,whole-rock geochemical,zircon U-Pb geochronological,and zircon Lu-Hf isotope data for Jurassic granitoids of the Wulong region,Liaodong Peninsula,NE China.Laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry(LA-ICP-MS)zircon U-Pb data indicate that these granitoids were emplaced at 165-156 Ma.The biotite monzogranite,two-mica monzogranite,monzogranite,granodiorite,biotite granodiorite,and syenogranite are strongly peraluminous(A/CNK=1.09-1.29),contain peraluminous minerals such as muscovite,have high normative corundum abundances(1.26 wt.%-3.28 wt.%),and have high K2_(O)/Na2O ratios(0.76-1.48),all of which indicate an S-type granite affinity.However,the biotite granodiorite and syenogranite have high Sr(391 ppm-570 ppm)and low Y(3.06 ppm-5.94 ppm)contents,with high Sr/Y(65.8-185.9)ratios,and the two-mica monzogranite,monzogranite,and granodiorite have relatively high Sr(138 ppm-379 ppm)and low Y(3.38 ppm-8.71 ppm)contents,with high Sr/Y ratios(19.1-77.9).All of the analyzed samples have negative zircon eHf(t)values(-41.4 to-20.6)with old two-stage Hf model ages(TDM2(Hf)=2.50-3.76 Ga).Therefore,we infer that the biotite monzogranite is the typical feature of S-type granite that was derived by partial melting of metagraywacke.The monzogranite,two-mica monzogranite,granodiorite,biotite granodiorite,and syenogranite exhibit geochemical characteristics of S-type granite with K-rich adakitic features,and were possibly derived by mixing of melts from clastic crustal materials and ada-kitic magmas.There are voluminous Jurassic igneous rocks in the NE China.By combining our study with the previous researches,this paper infers that the Jurassic magmatism within the Erguna-Xing'an Massif was related to the southward subduction and closure of the Mongol-Okhotsk Ocean;the Early Jurassic magmatism to the east of the Songliao Basin and in the northern North China Cra-ton(NCC)was related to the subduction of the Pacific Plate;however,the Middle-Late Jurassic igne-ous rocks to the west of the Songliao Basin were related to the closure of the Mongol-Okhotsk Ocean and,in the northern NCC,were related to closure of the Mongol-Okhotsk Ocean with an influence from flat-slab subduction of the Pacific Plate.Jinyu Li Ye Qian Leontine Tekoumc Changji Zhao Jinlei Sun Tao Zheng Fengyue Sun Yanjie Shen 2021Journal of Earth Science2021,32,1:2
12Effects of Different Dietary Energy and Protein Levels on Meat Performance and Meat Quality of Jinghai Yellow Chickens显示文摘To investigate the effect of different dietary energy and protein levels on meat performance and meat quality of Jinghai yellow chickens,480 43-day old Jinghai yellow chickens with similar weight were randomly divided into four experimental groups: experimental group 1( protein 15%,metabolic energy 9. 95 MJ /kg),experimental group 2( protein 16%,metabolic energy 10. 95 MJ /kg),experimental group 3( protein 17%,metabolic energy 12. 65 MJ /kg) and experimental group 4( protein 18%,metabolic energy 13. 95 MJ /kg),respectively. All chickens were slaughtered at 112-day old. The breast and leg muscles of Jinghai yellow chickens were collected,to determine the slaughter performance,conventional meat quality and muscle chemical indicators. 14The Gold Coast criteria increases the diagnostic sensitivity for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in a Chinese population显示文摘Objectives:The aim of this study was to assess and compare the diagnostic utility of a new diagnostic criteria for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS),abbreviated as the‘Gold Coast Criteria’,with the revised El Escorial(rEEC)and Awaji criteria.Methods:Clinical and electrophysiological data of 1185 patients from January 2014 to December 2019 in the Peking Union Medical College Hospital ALS database were reviewed.The sensitivity of the Gold Coast criteria was compared to that of the possible rEEC and Awaji criteria(defined by the proportion of patients categorized as definite,probable,or possible ALS).Results:A final diagnosis of ALS was recorded in 1162 patients.The sensitivity of the Gold Coast criteria(96.6%,95%confidence interval[CI]=95.3%-97.5%)was greater than that of the rEEC(85.1%,95%CI=82.9%-87.1%)and Awaji(85.3%,95%CI=83.2%-87.3%).In addition,the sensitivity of the novel criteria maintained robust across subgroups,and the advantage was more prominent in limb-onset ALS patients and those who completed electromyographic tests.In those who did not achieve any of the rEEC diagnostic categories,the sensitivity of Gold Coast criteria was 84.4%.Conclusions:The current study demonstrated that the Gold Coast criteria exhibited greater diagnostic sensitivity than the rEEC and Awaji criteria in a Chinese ALS population.The application of the Gold Coast criteria should be considered in clinical practice and future therapeutic trials.Dongchao Shen Xunzhe Yang Yanying Wang Di He Xiaohan Sun Zhengyi Cai Jinyue Li Mingsheng Liu Liying Cui 2021Translational Neurodegeneration2021,10,3:1
