1Trending IC design directions in 2022显示文摘For the non-stop demands for a better and smarter society, the number of electronic devices keeps increasing exponentially;and the computation power, communication data rate, smart sensing capability and intelligence are always not enough. Hardware supports software, while the integrated circuit(IC) is the core of hardware. In this long review paper, we summarize and discuss recent trending IC design directions and challenges, and try to give the readers big/cool pictures on each selected small/hot topics. We divide the trends into the following six categories, namely, 1) machine learning and artificial intelligence(AI) chips, 2) communication ICs, 3) data converters, 4) power converters, 5) imagers and range sensors, 6) emerging directions. 2Photo-controlled release of paclitaxel and model drugs from RNA pyramids显示文摘Stimuli-resp on sive release of drugs from a nano carrier in spatial-,temporal-,and dosage-controlled fashi ons is of great interest in the pharmaceutical industry.Paclitaxel is one of the most effective and popular chemotherapeutic drugs against a number of cancers such as metastatic or non metastatic breast can cer,non-small cell lung can cer,refractory ovaria n cancer,AIDS-related Kaposi's sarcoma,and head and neck can cers.Here,by taki ng the adva ntage of RNA nanotechno logy in biomedical and material scie nee,we developed a three-dime nsional pyramid-shaped RNA nanocage for a photocontrolled release of cargo,using paclitaxel as a model drug.The light-triggered release of paclitaxel or fluorophore Cy5 was achieved by incorporation of photocleavable spacers into the RNA nanoparticles.Upon irradiation with ultraviolet light,cargos were rapidly released(within 5 min).In vitro treatment of breast can cer cells with the RNA nano particles harbori ng photocleavable paclitaxel showed higher cytotoxicity as compared to RNA nanoparticles without the photocleavable spacer.The methodology provides proof of con cept for the applicati on of the light-triggered con trolled release of drugs from RNA nano cages.Congcong Xu Hui Li Kaiming Zhang Daniel W.Binzel Hongran Yin Wah Chiu Peixuan Guo 2019Nano Research2019,12,1:3

12Diffusion growth of Φ ternary intermetallic compound in the Mg-Al-Zn alloy system:In-situ observation and modeling显示文摘Study on the diffusion growth of ternary intermetallic compounds in Mg-Al-Zn based light-weight alloys is important due to its close interrelation with alloy property.However,there is a very lack of existing data due to difficulties in both experimental and computational aspects.The current work aims at presenting the experimental observation on the diffusion growth behavior of Φ phase at 360℃ as well as calculating its composition-dependent interdiffu sion coefficients.We designed and succes s fully fabricated four Mg-τ ternary diffusion couples annealed at 360℃ for different times,where the diffusion path goes across the Φ phase region and the diffusion growth of ternary intermetallic compound can be solely detected.In-situ observation of the time-dependent growth of Φ phase was performed to accurately determine the parabolic growth constant.The experimental data were then subjected to a numerical inverse method to generate a set of self-consistent interdiffusivities of the ternary intermetallic compounds,which can reproduce the presently observed diffusion growth behavior of Φ ternary intermetallic compound in Mg-τ diffusion couples.Kaiming Cheng Jiaxing Sun Huixia Xu Jin Wang Chengwei Zhan Reza Ghomashchi Jixue Zhou Shouqiu Tang Lijun Zhang Yong Du 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,1:0
13Motion detection for high-speed high-brightness objects based on a pulse array image sensor显示文摘We describe a method of optical flow extraction for high-speed high-brightness targets based on a pulse array image sensor(PAIS).PAIS is a retina-like image sensor with pixels triggered by light;it can convert light into a series of pulse intervals.This method can obtain optical flow from pulse data directly by accumulating continuous pulses.The triggered points can be used to filter redundant data when the target is brighter than the background.The method takes full advantage of the rapid response of PAIS to high-brightness targets.We applied this method to extract the optical flow of high-speed turntables with different background brightness,with the sensor model and actual data,respectively.Under the sampling condition of 2×10^(4) frames/s,the optical flow could be extracted from a high-speed turntable rotating at 1000 r/min.More than 90%of redundant points could be filtered by our method.Experimental results showed that the optical flow extraction algorithm based on pulse data can extract the optical flow information of high-brightness objects efficiently without the need to reconstruct images.Peiwen ZHANG Jiangtao XU Huafeng NIE Zhiyuan GAO Kaiming NIE 2022Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering2022,23,1:0
14Cilia regeneration requires an RNA splicing factor from the ciliary base显示文摘Cilia are microtubule-based organelles projected from most eukaryotic cell surfaces performing cell motility and signaling.Several previously recognized non-ciliary proteins play crucial roles in cilium formation and function.Here,we provide additional evidence that the Caenorhabditis elegans RNA splicing factor PRP-8/PRPF8 regulates ciliogen-esis and regeneration from the ciliary base.Live imaging of GFP knock-in animals reveals that the endogenous PRP-8 localizes in the nuclei and the ciliary base.A weak loss-of-function allele of prp-8 affects ciliary structure but with little impact on RNA splicing.Conditional degradation of PRP-8 within ciliated sensory neurons showed its direct and spe-cific roles in cilium formation.Notably,the penetrance of ciliary defects correlates with the reduction of PRP-8 at the ciliary base but not nuclei,and sensory neurons regenerated cilia accompanying PRP-8 recovery from the ciliary base rather than the nuclei.We suggest that PRP-8 at the ciliary base contributes to cilium formation and regeneration.Kaiming Xu Guangshuo Ou 2022Cell Regeneration2022,11,1:0
15A Two-dimensional Dual-pore Covalent Organic Framework for Efficient Iodine Capture显示文摘Effectively capturing volatile radioiodine generated during the nuclear fission process is considered to be a safe way to the utilization of nuclear power. Here we report a new two-dimensional covalent organic framework(2D COF), ETTA-PyTTA-COF, as a highly efficient iodine adsorbent, which is constructed through the condensation reaction between 4,4’,4’’,4’’’-(ethene-1,1,2,2-tetrayl)-tetrabenzaldehyde(ETTA) and 1,3,6,8-tetrakis(4-aminophenyl)pyrene(PyTTA). The ETTA-PyTTA-COF possesses a permanent 1D channel porous structure with a high Brunauer-Emmet-Teller(BET) surface area of 1519 m2/g and excellent chemical and thermal stability. 163D RNA nanocage for encapsulation and shielding of hydrophobic biomolecules to improve the in vivo biodistribution显示文摘Ribonucleic acid(RNA)nanotechnology platforms have the potential of harboring therapeutics for in vivo delivery in disease treatment.However,the nonspecific interaction between the harbored hydrophobic drugs and cells or other components before reaching the diseased site has been an obstacle in drug delivery.Here we report an encapsulation strategy to prevent such nonspecific hydrophobic interactions in vitro and in vivo based on a self-assembled three-dimensional(3D)RNA nanocage.By placing an RNA three-way junction(3WJ)in the cavity of the nanocage,the conjugated hydrophobic molecules were specifically positioned within the nanocage,preventing their exposure to the biological environment.The assembly of the nanocages was characterized by native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(PAGE),atomic force microscopy(AFM),and cryogenic electron microscopy(cryo-EM)imaging.The stealth effect of the nanocage for hydrophobic molecules in vitro was evaluated by gel electrophoresis,flow cytometry,and confocal microscopy.The in vivo sheathing effect of the nanocage for hydrophobic molecules was assessed by biodistribution profiling in mice.The RNA nanocages with hydrophobic biomolecules underwent faster clearance in liver and spleen in comparison to their counterparts.Therefore,this encapsulation strategy holds promise for in vivo delivery of hydrophobic drugs for disease treatment.Congcong Xu Kaiming Zhang Hongran Yin Zhefeng Li Alexey Krasnoslobodtsev Zhen Zheng Zhouxiang Ji Sijin Guo Shanshan Li Wah Chiu Peixuan Guo 2020Nano Research2020,13,12:0

18A high dynamic range pixel using lateral overflow integration capacitor and adaptive feedback structure in CMOS image sensors显示文摘This letter proposes a novel high dynamic range(HDR)pixel using lateral overflow integration capacitor(LOFIC)and adaptive feedback structure.Through detailed analysis of the voltage feedback mechanism,the conversion gain(CG),full well capacity(FWC)and dynamic range(DR)performances of the feedback LOFIC pixel are analytically expressed.The verification results reveal that the equivalent FWC of the feedback LOFIC pixel is 1.89 times of conventional LOFIC pixel,and the DR extension is 5.5 dB.Based on 110 nm CMOS process,a 5.0µm pixel layout is presented,using 13.3 fF capacitance to achieve 83 ke-FWC and 102.8 dB DR,which are 44 ke-and 97.3 dB of conventional LOFIC pixel under the same design conditions.This also demonstrates that the feedback LOFIC pixel can reduce the dependence of extended DR on capacitor area,and can be used as a reference for HDR pixels design.YANG Yuejin XU Jiangtao MA Biao CHEN Quanmin NIE Kaiming 2023Optoelectronics Letters2023,19,12:0
