Human ESC-derived expandable hepatic organoids enable therapeutic liver repopulation and pathophysiological modeling of alcoholic liver injury显示文摘We report the generation of human ESC-derived,expandable hepatic organoids(hEHOs)using our newly established method with wholly defined(serum-free,feeder free)media. The hEHOs stably maintain phenotypic features of bipotential liver stem/progenitor cells that can differentiate into functional hepatocytes or cholangiocytes. The hEHOs can expand for 20 passages enabling large scale expansion to cell numbers requisite for industry or clinical programs. The cells from hEHOs display remarkable repopulation capacity in injured livers of FRG mice following transplantation, and they differentiate in vivo into mature hepatocytes. If implanted into the epididymal fat pads of immune-deficient mice, they do not generate non-hepatic lineages and have no tendency to form teratomas. We further develop a derivative model by incorporating human fetal liver mesenchymal cells(hFLMCs)into the hEHOs,referred to as hFLMC/hEHO,which can model alcoholic liver disease-associated pathophysiologic changes, including oxidative stress generation, steatosis, inflammatory mediators release and fibrosis, under ethanol treatment. Our work demonstrates that the hEHOs have considerable potential to be a novel,ex vivo pathophysiological model for studying alcoholic liver disease as well as a promising cellular source for treating human liver diseases.Shuyong Wang Xuan Wang Zuolong Tan Yuxin Su Juan Liu Mingyang Chang Fang Yan Jie Chen Tao Chen Chuanjiang Li Jie Hu Yunfang Wang 2019Cell Research2019,29,12:20
CXCL5/CXCR2 axis in tumor microenvironment as potential diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic target显示文摘The components of the tumor microenvironment(TME)in solid tumors, especially chemokines, are currently attracting much attention from scientists.C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 5(CXCL5)is one of the important chemokines in TME.Over-expression of CXCL5 is closely related to the survival time, recurrence and metasta-sis of cancer patients. In TME,CXCL5 binds to its receptors, such as C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 2(CXCR2),to participate in the recruitment of immune cells and promote angiogenesis, tumor growth, and metastasis. The CXCL5/CXCR2 axis can act as a bridge between tumor cells and host cells in TME.Blocking the trans-mission of CXCL5/CXCR2 signals can increase the sensitivity and effectiveness of immunotherapy and slow down tumor progression.CXCL5 and CXCR2 are also regarded as biomarkers for predicting prognosis and molecular targets for customiz-ing the treatment. In this review,we summarized the current literature regarding the biological functions and clinical significance of CXCL5/CXCR2 axis in TME.The possibility to use CXCL5 and CXCR2 as potential prognostic biomarkers and thera-peutic targets in cancer is also discussed.Wen Zhang Huishan Wang Mingyang Sun Xueting Deng Xueru Wu Yilan Ma Mengjing Li Said Maisam Shuoa Qiang You Lin Miao 2020Cancer Communications2020,40,2:19
The wonders of BMP9:From mesenchymal stem cell differentiation, angiogenesis, neurogenesis, tumorigenesis, and metabolism to regenerative medicine显示文摘Although bone morphogenetic proteins(BMPs)initially showed effective induction of ectopic bone growth in muscle,it has since been determined that these proteins,as members of the TGF-b superfamily, play a diverse and critical array of biological roles. These roles include regulating skeletal and bone formation, angiogenesis, and development and homeostasis of multiple organ systems.Disruptions of the members of the TGF-b/BMP superfamily result in severe skeletal and extra-skeletal irregularities, suggesting high therapeutic potential from understanding this family of BMP proteins.Although it was once one of the least characterized BMPs,BMP9 has revealed itself to have the highest osteogenic potential across numerous experiments both in vitro and in vivo, with recent studies suggesting that the exceptional potency of BMP9 may result from unique signaling pathways that differentiate it from other BMPs.The effectiveness of BMP9 in inducing bone formation was recently revealed in promising experiments that demonstrated efficacy in the repair of critical sized cranial defects as well as compatibility with bone-inducing bio-implants,revealing the great translational promise of BMP9.Furthermore,emerging evidence indicates that, besides its osteogenic activity,BMP9 exerts a broad range of biological functions, including stem cell differentiation, angiogenesis, neurogenesis, tumorigenesis, and metabolism. This review aims to summarize our current understanding of BMP9 across biology and the body.Sami Mostafa Mikhail Pakvasa Elam Coalson Allen Zhu Alex Alverdy Hector Castillo Jiaming Fan Alex Li Yixiao Feng Di Wu Elliott Bishop Scott Du Mia Spezia Alissa Li Ofir Hagag Alison Deng Winny Liu Mingyang Li Sherwin S·Ho Aravind Athiviraham Michael J·Lee Jennifer Moriatis Wolf Guillermo A·Ameer Hue H·Luu Rex C·Haydon Jason Strelzow Kelly Hynes Tong-Chuan He Russell R·Reid 2019Genes & Diseases2019,6,3:15
Terahertz metasurface zone plates with arbitrary polarizations to a fixed polarization conversion显示文摘Metasurfaces that can realize the polarization manipulation of electromagnetic waves on the sub-wavelength scale have become an emerging research field. Here,a novel strategy of combining the metasurface and Fresnel zone plate to form a metasurface zone plate is proposed to realize the conversion from nearly arbitrary polarizations to a fixed polarization.Specifically, when one polarized wave is incident on adjacent ring zones constructed by different types of meta-atoms,the transmitted waves generated by odd-numbered and even-numbered ring zones converge at the same focus and superimpose to generate a fixed polarized wave.As function demonstrations,we have designed two types of metasurface zone plates:one is a focused linear polarizer, and the other can convert nearly arbitrary polarized waves into focused circularly polarized waves. The simulated and measured results are consistent with theoretical expectations, suggesting that the proposed concept is flexible and feasible. Our work provides an alternative platform for polarization manipulation and may vigorously promote the development of polarization photonic devices.Zhen Yue Jitao Li Jie Li Chenglong Zheng Jingyu Liu Guocui Wang Hang Xu Mingyang Chen Yating Zhang Yan Zhang Jianquan Yao 2022Opto-Electronic Science2022,1,3:9

Distribution and existing state of indium in the Gejiu Tin polymetallic deposit, Yunnan Province, SW China显示文摘The Gejiu tin polymetallic deposit, located in the southwest margin of the South China Belt bordering on the Yangtze Block, is hosted in Triassic carbonates. This study shows that there is an indium enrichment in the ores.Indium mainly exists in sphalerite-rich massive sulfide ores with a concentration of 198.3–1570 ppm; the indium concentration in sphalerite ranges from 493.3 up to4781 ppm. The inferred indium reserve in the Gejiu Sn deposit is over 4000 t, indicating that the Gejiu tin deposit is a giant In-bearing Sn-polymetallic deposit, similar to the Dachang and Dulong in southwest China. Sphalerite with a high Fe value(8.05–13.27 wt%) is the predominant indium carrier mineral; meanwhile chalcopyrite plays the secondary indium carrier role. EPMA mapping result shows that indium is likely distributed homogeneously and presented as a substitution for Zn in sphalerite.Yubang Li Yan Tao Feilin Zhu Mingyang Liao Feng Xiong Xianze Deng 2015Chinese Journal Of Geochemistry2015,34,4:7
Integrated transcriptome and proteome analysis provides insight into chilling-induced dormancy breaking in Chimonanthus praecox显示文摘Chilling has a critical role in the growth and development of perennial plants. The chilling requirement(CR)for dormancy breaking largely depends on the species. However, global warming is expected to negatively affect chilling accumulation and dormancy release in a wide range of perennial plants. Here,we used Chimonanthus praecox as a model to investigate the CR for dormancy breaking under natural and artificial conditions. We determined the minimum CR(570 chill units,CU)needed for chilling-induced dormancy breaking and analyzed the transcriptomes and proteomes of flowering and non-flowering flower buds(FBs,anther and ovary differentiation completed)with different CRs.The concentrations of ABA and GA3 in the FBs were also determined using HPLC.The results indicate that chilling induced an upregulation of ABA levels and significant downregulation of SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE(SVP)and FLOWERING LOCUS T(FT)homologs at the transcript level in FBs when the accumulated CR reached 570 CU(IB570)compared to FBs in November(FB.Nov,CK)and nF16(non-flowering FBs after treatment at 16℃for−300 CU),which suggested that dormancy breaking of FBs could be regulated by the ABA-mediated SVP-FT module.Overexpression in Arabidopsis was used to confirm the function of candidate genes, and early flowering was induced in 35S::CpFT1 transgenic lines. Our data provide insight into the minimum CR(570 CU)needed for chilling-induced dormancy breaking and its underlying regulatory mechanism in C.praecox, which provides a new tool for the artificial regulation of flowering time and a rich gene resource for controlling chilling-induced blooming.Zhineng Li Ning Liu Wei Zhang Chunyu Wu Yingjie Jiang Jing Ma Mingyang Li Shunzhao Sui 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:6
Stem cell therapy for chronic skin wounds in the era of personalized medicine:From bench to bedside显示文摘With the significant financial burden of chronic cutaneous wounds on the healthcare system, not to the personal burden mention on those individuals afflicted,it has become increasingly essential to improve our clinical treatments. This requires the translation of the most recent benchtop approaches to clinical wound repair as our current treatment modalities have proven insufficient. The most promising potential treatment options rely on stem cellbased therapies.Stem cell proliferation and signaling play crucial roles in every phase of the wound healing process and chronic wounds are often associated with impaired stem cell function.Clinical approaches involving stem cells could thus be utilized in some cases to improve a body’s inhibited healing capacity. We aim to present the laboratory research behind the mechanisms and effects of this technology as well as current clinical trials which showcase their therapeutic potential.Given the current problems and complications presented by chronic wounds,we hope to show that developing the clinical applications of stem cell therapies is the rational next step in improving wound care.Elam Coalson Elliot Bishop Wei Liu Yixiao Feng Mia Spezia Bo Liu Yi Shen Di Wu Scott Du Alexander J.Li Zhenyu Ye Ling Zhao Daigui Cao Alissa Li Ofir Hagag Alison Deng Winny Liu Mingyang Li Rex C.Haydon Lewis Shi Aravind Athiviraham Michael J.Lee Jennifer Moriatis Wolf Guillermo A.Ameer Tong-Chuan He Russell R.Reid 2019Genes & Diseases2019,6,4:6
Microstructure Control of Non-quenched and Tempered CT80Grade Coiled Tubing Steel显示文摘Complex working condition of coiled tube(CT) steel demands high strength and low ratio of yield strength(YS) to tensile strength(TS). Reasonable microstructure control is a key problem of CT steel. Controlled rolling and controlled cooling experiments were carried out by two kinds of tested steels with different chemical compositions to develop the non-quenched and tempered CT80 steel. Mechanical properties of the tested steels at different processes are all in good agreement with the properties requirement of CT80. Increasing of Mo and Nb contents improves transformation of acicular ferrite and martensite–austenite(M–A) islands. 4 vol% of fine M/A islands increase TS and decreases ratio of YS/TS. Cooling rate increasing also improves acicular ferrite transformation and enhances TS, but has little effect on ratio of YS/TS. To meet the requirement of high strength and low ratio of YS/TS, optimized complex microstructure of the CT80 steel is composed of acicular ferrite, about 30 vol% of bainite and 4 vol% of M–A islands.Leyu Zhou Bo Jiang Mingyang Li Fuchun Yuan Chaolei Zhang Yazheng Liu 2014Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2014,27,3:5
Underwater three-dimensional imaging using narrowband MIMO array显示文摘To obtain high cross-range resolution, the underwater 3-D acoustic imaging system usually requires a rectangular array with a great number of sensors and a large physical size. To reduce the sensor number and the array physical size simultaneously, this paper proposes a new underwater 3-D acoustic imaging approach based on a novel multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) array. Specifically, the MIMO array is composed of four uniform linear arrays (ULAs) located on four sides of a rectangle. The transmitting array composed of two ULAs is located on a pair of opposite sides, and the receiving array composed of another two ULAs is located on the other two sides. Furthermore, narrowband waveforms coded with orthogonal polyphase sequences are employed as transmitting waveforms. When the subcode numbers in the polyphase coded sequences are sufficient, the MIMO array has the same 3-D imaging ability as a rectangular array, which has a two-time bigger size than that of the former. Consequently, the MIMO array can not only save a great number of sensors, but halve the array size, when compared to a rectangular array with the same cross-range resolution. Computer simulations are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed imaging approach.LIU XiongHou SUN Chao YI Feng LIU ZongWei LI MingYang 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,7:4
PDCD5 regulates iNKT cell terminal maturation and iNKT1 fate decision显示文摘Invariant natural killer T1(iNKT1)cells are characterized by the preferential expression of T-box transcription factor T-bet(encoded by Tbx21)and the production of cytokine IFN-γ,but the relationship between the developmental process and iNKT1 lineage diversification in the thymus remains elusive. We report in the present study a crucial role of programmed cell death 5(PDCD5)in iNKT cell terminal maturation and iNKT1 fate determination.Mice with T cell-specific deletion of PDCD5 had decreased numbers of thymic and peripheral iNKT cells with a predominantly immature phenotype and defects in response toα-galactosylceramide.Loss of PDCD5 also selectively abolished the iNKT1 lineage by reducing T-bet expression in iNKT cells at an early thymic developmental stage(before CD44 upregulation). We further demonstrated that TOX2,one of the high mobility group proteins that was highly expressed in iNKT cells at stage 1 and could be stabilized by PDCD5,promoted the permissive histone H3K4me3 modification in the promoter region of Tbx21.These data indicate a pivotal and unique role of PDCD5/TOX2 in iNKT1 lineage determination. They also suggest that the fate of iNKT1 may be programmed at the developmental stage of iNKT cells in the thymus.Ke Wang Xinwei Zhang Yifan Wang Gaowen Jin Mingyang Li Shusong Zhang Jie Hao Rong Jin Xiaojun Huang Hounan Wu Jun Zhang Yingyu Chen Qing Ge 2019Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,9:4
Effect of methotrexate combined with Sanhuang Yilong decoction on serum and synovial fluid aquaporin levels in rheumatoid arthritis dampness-heat blockage syndrome显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of methotrexate(MTX) combined with Sanhuang Yilong decoction(SYD) on aquaporin(AQP) expression, and to explore the role of AQPs in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis(RA).METHODS:A total of 118 dampness-heat blockage type RA patients who were hospitalized in the General Chengdu Military Hospital between January2014 and December 2016 were selected as subjects in this study(30 patient of these patients with knee joint effusion were assigned to the RA synovial fluid group). For the pre-treatment controlgroups,30 healthy volunteers were recruited as the healthy control group and 30 osteoarthritis(OA) patients with knee joint effusion were included as OA synovial fluid control group. The RA dampnessheat blockage syndrome treatment groups were divided into 45 cases in the combined group and 45 cases in the MTX group. The combined group received MTX combined with SYD treatment while the MTX group received MTX alone.AQP1,AQP2 and AQP3 expressions were detected in the serum and synovial fluid.RESULTS:AQP1 had the highest expression, followed by AQP3,and AQP2.The serum levels of AQP1,AQP2 and AQP3 were all significantly lower than those in the healthy volunteers(P < 0.05),while the synovial fluid AQP1,AQP2 and AQP3 expression in the RA group were comparable to these in the OA groups(P > 0.05).After treatment for2 weeks, serum AQP1,AQP2,AQP3 were significantly increased and erythrocyte sedimentation rate,C-reactive protein, disease activity score of 28 joints were decreased in the combined group(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:Abnormal expression of AQPs inhibits water metabolism in RA dampness-heat blockage syndrome,so liquid is accumulated at the joint, which may play an important role in the pathogenesis of RA.MTX combined with SYD for the treatment of RA can effectively increase AQP expression.Liu Defang Yan Jiao Guo Mingyang Luo Yong Yang Mei Yang Min Zou Longfu Li Wan Zhong Xiaolong Liu Tao Hu Yonghe 2018Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,4:4
Selective depression action of taurine in flotation separation of specularite and chlorite显示文摘Chlorite,as the most representative gangue mineral associated with specularite,of which the separation of these two minerals is difficult. This paper investigated the depression effect of taurine on specularite/chlorite separation via flotation experiments, adsorption tests, contact angle measurements,Zeta potential detection,FT-IR measurements, and XPS analyses. The results of single mineral flotation indicated that chlorite could be depressed selectively by taurine with the recovery of less than 30%,but the floatability of specularite remains high with recovery rate of 81.77%at pH 10.The artificial mixed mineral flotation results confirmed the effectiveness of taurine as a depressant.Surface adsorption, contact angle, and Zeta potential detection revealed taurine primarily adsorbs on the chlorite surface, which hampered the DDA’s subsequent adsorption and results in the chlorite’s poor floatability. The FT-IR spectra and XPS analyses provided further proof that taurine adsorbed on chlorite surface as an electron donor, and part of the electrons transferred from the sulfonic acid group of taurine to metal ions during the adsorption process. In addition, the hydrogen bond between amino-group of taurine and O ions in chlorite surface was also formed in the adsorption process. Finally, optimized adsorption configurations of taurine on chlorite surfaces were proposed.Mingyang Li Cheng Yang Zhaoyang Wu Xiangpeng Gao Xiong Tong Xiankun Yu Hongming Long 2022International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2022,32,3:4
A model to assess fundamental and realized carrying capacities of island ecosystem:A case study in the southern Miaodao Archipelago of China显示文摘Research on carrying capacity, aiming at maintaining the limited ability of the Earth's life supporting system to sustain human development, requires a comprehensive and ecosystem-based approach to monitor and assess the localized sustainability of coupled social and ecological systems. A definition termed the ecosystem-based carrying capacity of island(EBCCI) was developed in this paper of which the indices of fundamental and realized carrying capacities of island(FCCI and RCCI) were highlighted to emphasize the inter-dependencies between social systems and ecological systems. In order to avoid the difficulties and uncertainties of direct assessment, the related assessment model was established on the basis of synthetic evaluation of inherent and external factors affecting the EBCCI. The southern Miaodao Archipelago(SMA) located in the intersection of the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea, China, was taken as a typical example to acquire integrated recognition of the island ecosystem and its carrying capacity so as to discuss its sustainable development. The index scores of FCCI and RCCI in the SMA were 0.818 5 and 0.712 9 out of 1.0, respectively, with acceptable uncertainties. The results showed a relatively well capacity to sustain progress and relatively well realization of the carrying capacity of island ecosystem, owing to a well capacity of ecologically regulating, general performance of both ecologically supporting and resource provisioning, and a relatively high level of social supporting system. The study implied that it was critical to optimize the inter-dependencies and to sustain the relative balance between social systems and ecological systems so as to improve the RCCI and further facilitate the sustainability of SMA. The approach proposed in this paper provides a powerful tool which is well applicative to the regional level of an oceanic island or archipelago to study the sustainable development and can be further popularized to the coastal zone.SHI Honghua SHEN Chengcheng ZHENG Wei LI Fen WANG Xiaoli CHI Yuan GUO Zhen QIAO Mingyang GAO Liyuan DING Dewen 2016Acta Oceanologica Sinica2016,35,2:4
A seasonal grade division of the global offshore wind energy resource显示文摘Under the background of energy crisis, the development of renewable energy will significantly alleviate the energy and environmental crisis. On the basis of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts(ECMWF)interim reanalysis(ERA-interim) wind data, the annual and seasonal grade divisions of the global offshore wind energy are investigated. The results show that the annual mean offshore wind energy has great potential. The wind energy over the westerly oceans of the Northern and Southern Hemispheres is graded as Class 7(the highest), whereas that over most of the mid-low latitude oceans are higher than Class 4. The wind energy over the Arctic Ocean(Class 4) is more optimistic than the traditional evaluations. Seasonally, the westerly oceans of the Northern Hemisphere with a Class 7 wind energy are found to be largest in January, followed by April and October, and smallest in July. The area of the Class 7 wind energy over the westerly oceans of the Southern Hemisphere are found to be largest in July and slightly smaller in the other months. In July, the wind energy over the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal is graded as Class 7, which is obviously richer than that in other months. It is shown that in this data set in April and October, the majority of the northern Indian Ocean are regions of indigent wind energy resource.ZHENG Chongwei LI Chongyin GAO Chengzhi LIU Mingyang 2017Acta Oceanologica Sinica2017,36,3:4
Effect of Sanhuangyilong decoction plus methotrexate on tumor necrosis factor alpha and interferon gamma in serum and synovial fluid in rheumatoid arthritis patients with symptom pattern of damp heat obstruction显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Sanhuangyilong decoction plus methotrexate(MTX) on Interferon gamma(IFN-γ) and tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α) in the serum and synovial fluid of rheumatoid arthritis(RA) patients with damp-heat-obstruction symptom pattern, Sanhuangyilong decoction and the role of TNF-α and IFN-γ in the development of RA.METHODS: RA inpatients with damp-heat-obstruction symptom pattern(partly with knee joint effusion) were selected as the research subjects. Before the treatment, healthy subjects and osteoarthritis(OA) patients with knee joint effusion were assigned to the serum control group and the synovial fluid control group, respectively; during the treatment, RA patients with damp-heat-obstruction symptom pattern were divided into two groups:one is combined group that was administered Sanhuangyilong decoction plus MTX; the other group was MTX group that received MTX only. The expression levels of TNF-α and IFN-γ in the serum and synovial fluid were measured with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) before and after the treatment, and the peripheral blood levels of erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR), C-reactive protein(CRP) and disease activity score in 28 joints(DAS28)were determined.RESULTS: Before treatment, the serum levels of TNF-α and IFN-γ in the RA patients with dampheat-obstruction symptom pattern were higher than those in healthy control group(P < 0.05).The expression levels of TNF-α and IFN-γ in the synovial fluid of the RA patients were higher than those in the serum of the RA patients(P < 0.05). The expression levels of TNF-α and IFN-γ in the synovial fluid of the RA patients were higher than those of the sy-novial fluid of the osteoarthritis patients(P < 0.05).The expression of TNF-α and IFN-γ in the serum and synovial fluid of the RA patients had no correlation with the inflammatory activity index ESR, CRP,or DAS28(P > 0.05). After 2 weeks of treatment, the expression level of TNF-α and IFN-γ in the combined group had increased, although the difference was not statistically significant(P > 0.05); in contrast, ESR, CRP, and DAS28 decreased, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01). After 4 weeks of therapy, TNF-alpha and IFN-γ, ESR,CRP, and DAS28 in the combined group decreased compared with the before-treatment levels(P <0.01). After 2 w of treatment, the differences in the TNF-α and IFN-γ expression levels in the combined group were not statistically significant(P > 0.05)compared with that in the MTX group, although there were statistically significant differences in the ESR, CRP, and DAS28(P < 0.05). After 4 weeks of treatment, differences in TNF-α, IFN-γ, ESR, CRP, and DAS28 in the combined group compared with MTX group were statistically significant(P < 0.01).CONCLUSION: TNF-α and IFN-γ might be involved in the development of RA. The RA patients with damp-heat-obstruction symptom pattern show better benefits from the treatment of Sanhuangyilong decoction plus MTX, and the treatment is superior to that of using MTX only.Liu Defang Yan Jiao Yun Mingdong Yang Ming Luo Yong Zhang Jun Guo Mingyang Yang Mei Yuan Weili Zou Wei Li Hua Hu Yonghe 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,5:4
A wave of Foxp3^(+) regulatory T cell accumulation in the neonatal liver plays unique roles in maintaining self-tolerance显示文摘Newborn animals require tightly regulated local and systemic immune environments to govern the development and maturation of multiple organs/tissues even though the immune system itself is far from mature during the neonatal period.Regulatory T cells(Tregs)are essential for maintaining immune tolerance/homeostasis and modulating inflammatory responses. The features of Tregs in the neonatal liver under steady-state conditions are not well understood. The present study aimed to investigate the phenotype, functions, and significance of neonatal Tregs in the liver. We found a wave of thymus-derived Treg influx into the liver during 1–2 weeks of age.Depletion of these Tregs between days 7 and 11 after birth rapidly resulted in Th1-type liver inflammation and metabolic disorder.More Tregs in the neonatal liver than in the spleen underwent MHC II-dependent activation and proliferation, and the liver Tregs acquired stronger suppressive functions. The transcriptomic profile of these neonatal liver Tregs showed elevated expression of PPARγand T-bet and features of Tregs that utilize lipid metabolic machinery and are capable of regulating Th1 responses. The accumulation of Tregs with unique features in the neonatal liver is critical to ensure self-tolerance and liver maturation.Mingyang Li Weijia Zhao Yifan Wang Lixue Jin Gaowen Jin Xiuyuan Sun Wei Wang Ke Wang Xi Xu Jie Hao Rong Jin Wenxian Fu Ying Sun Yingjun Chang Xiaojun Huang Xuyu Zhou Hounan Wu Kunshan Zhang Qing Ge 2020Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,5:4
Establishment of an Objective Standard for the Definition of Binary Tropical Cyclones in the Western North Pacific显示文摘To develop an objective standard for defining binary tropical cyclones(BTCs)in the western North Pacific(WNP),two best-track datasets, from the China Meteorological Administration and the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, were adopted for statistical analyses on two important characteristics of BTCs-two TCs approaching each other, and counterclockwise spinning.Based on the high consistency between the two datasets,we established an objective standard, which includes a main standard for defining BTCs and a secondary standard for identifying typical/atypical BTCs.The main standard includes two requirements:two coexisting TCs are a pair of BTCs if(i)the separation distance is≤1800 km,and(ii)this separation maintains for at least 12 h.Meanwhile, the secondary standard defines a typical BTC as one for which there is at least one observation when the two TCs approach each other and spin counterclockwise simultaneously.Under the standard, the ratio of typical BTCs increases as the BTC duration increases or the minimum distance between the two TCs decreases. Then, using the JTWC dataset,it was found that there are 505 pairs of BTCs during the period 1951−2014,including 328 typical BTCs and 177 atypical BTCs,accounting for 65.0%and 35.0%of the total, respectively. In addition,a study of two extreme phenomena-the maximum approaching speed and the maximum counterclockwise angular velocity in typical BTCs-shows that the configuration of the circulation conditions and the distribution of the BTCs favor the formation of these extreme phenomena.Fumin REN Yanjun XIE Biwen YIN Mingyang WANG Guoping LI 2020Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,11:3
Characteristics of Shale Reservoir and Sweet Spot Identification of the Lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation in Northwestern Hunan Province, China显示文摘The accumulation and productivity of shale gas are mainly controlled by the characteristics of shale reservoirs;study of these characteristics forms the basis for the shale gas exploitation of the Lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation(Fm),Southern China. In this study, core observation and lithology study were conducted along with X-ray diffraction(XRD)and electronic scanning microscopy(SEM)examinations and liquid nitrogen(N2)adsorption/desorption and CH4 isothermal adsorption experiments for several exploration wells in northwestern Hunan Province,China. The results show that one or two intervals with high-quality source rocks(TOC>2 wt%)were deposited in the deep-shelf facies. The source rocks, which were mainly composed of carbonaceous shales and siliceous shales, had high quartz contents(>40 wt%)and low clay mineral(<30 wt%,mainly illites)and carbonate mineral(<20 wt%)contents. The SEM observations and liquid nitrogen(N2)adsorption/desorption experiments showed that the shale is tight, and nanoscale pores and microscale fractures are well developed.BJH volume(VBJH)of shale ranged from 2.144×10^-3 to 20.07×10^-3 cm^3/g,with an average of 11.752×10^-3 cm3/g.Pores mainly consisted of opened and interconnected mesopores(2–50 nm in diameter)or macropores(>50 nm in diameter). The shale reservoir has strong adsorption capacity for CH4.The Langmuir volume(VL)varied from 1.63 to 7.39 cm^3/g,with an average of 3.95 cm^3/g.The characteristics of shale reservoir are controlled by several factors:(1)A deep muddy continental shelf is the most favorable environment for the development of shale reservoirs, which is controlled by the development of basic materials.(2)The storage capacity of the shale reservoir is positively related to the TOC contents and plastic minerals and negatively related to cement minerals.(3)High maturity or overmaturity leads to the growth of organic pores and microfractures, thereby improving the reservoir storage capacity. It can be deduced that the high percentage of residual gas in Niutitang Fm results from the strong reservoir storage capacity of adsorbed gas.Two layers of sweet spots with strong storage capacity of free gas,and they are characterized by the relatively high TOC contents ranging from 4 wt%to 8 wt%.QIN Mingyang CAO Zheng GUO Jianhua HUANG Yanran SUN Lianpu DONG Li 2019Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2019,93,3:3
Amorphous and humidity caking: A review显示文摘Caking of products is a common and undesired phenomenon in food, chemical, pharmaceutical, and fertilizer industries which leads to extra cost and irregular quality. In general, caking processes could be identified as amorphous caking or humidity caking. In this review, history of studying caking, formation, methods, and prospects of these two caking processes are summarized and discussed. The relevant studies from the 1920 s to today are mentioned briefly. According to the different properties(i.e. hygrocapacity, hygrosensitivity, mechanical properties, and diffusion behavior) of amorphous powders and crystals, the conditions and mechanisms of amorphous and humidity caking are discussed. It is summarized that glass transition, moisture sorption, quantitative methods characterizing caking, accelerated caking tests, and simulation of caking behaviors are the main aspects that should be studied for a caking process. The methods for these five aspects are reviewed. Potential research points are proposed including caking of mixed particles, caking with phase transition or polymorph transition,non-homogenous caking, and simulation of caking.Mingyang Chen Dejiang Zhang Weibing Dong Zhilong Luo Chao Kang Haichao Li Gang Wang Junbo Gong 2019Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2019,27,6:3
