Sodium oligomannate therapeutically remodels gut microbiota and suppresses gut bacterial amino acids-shaped neuroinflammation to inhibit Alzheimer's disease progression显示文摘Recently, increasing evidence has suggested the association between gut dysbiosis and Alzheimer's disease(AD)progression, yet the role of gut microbiota in AD pathogenesis remains obscure.Herein,we provide a potential mechanistic link between gut microbiota dysbiosis and neuroinflammation in AD progression.Using AD mouse models,we discovered that, during AD progression, the alteration of gut microbiota composition leads to the peripheral accumulation of phenylalanine and isoleucine, which stimulates the differentiation and proliferation of pro-inflammatory T helper 1(Thl)cells.The brain-infiltrated peripheral Th1 immune cells are associated with the Ml microglia aaivation, contributing to AD-associated neuroinflammation.Importantly, the elevation of phenylalanine and isoleucine concentrations and the increase of Th1 cell frequency in the blood were also observed in two small independent cohorts of patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI)due to AD.Furthermore,GV-971,a sodium oligomannate that has demonstrated solid and consistent cognition improvement in a phase 3 clinical trial in China, suppresses gut dysbiosis and the associated phenylalanine/isoleucine accumulation, harnesses neuroinflammation and reverses the cognition impairment.Together, our findings highlight the role of gut dysbiosis-promoted neuroinflammation in AD progression and suggest a novel strategy for AD therapy by remodelling the gut microbiota. | Xinyi Wang Guangqiang Sun Teng Feng Jing Zhang Xun Huang Tao Wang Zuoquan Xie Xingkun Chu Jun Yang Huan Wang Shuaishuai Chang Yanxue Gong Lingfei Ruan Guanqun Zhang Siyuan Yan Wen Lian Chen Du Dabing Yang Qingli Zhang Feifei Lin Jia Liu Haiyan Zhang Changrong Ge Shifu Xiao Jian Ding Meiyu Geng | 2019 | Cell Research2019,29,10: | 192
A complete sequence and comparative analysis of a SARS-associated virus(Isolate BJ01)显示文摘The genome sequence of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)-associated virus provides essential information for the identification of pathogen(s), exploration of etiology and evolution, interpretation of transmission and pathogenesis, development of diagnostics, prevention by future vaccination, and treatment by developing new drugs. We report the complete genome sequence and comparative analysis of an isolate (BJ01) of the coronavirus that has been recognized as a pathogen for SARS. The genome is 29725 nt in size and has 11 ORFs (Open Reading Frames). It is composed of a stable region encoding an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (composed of 2 ORFs) and a variable region representing 4 CDSs (coding sequences) for viral structural genes (the S, E, M, N proteins) and 5 PUPs (putative uncharacterized proteins). Its gene order is identical to that of other known coronaviruses. The sequence alignment with all known RNA viruses places this virus as a member in the family of Coronaviridae. Thirty putative substitutions have been identified by comparative analysis of the 5 SARS- associated virus genome sequences in GenBank. Fifteen of them lead to possible amino acid changes (non-synonymous mutations) in the proteins. Three amino acid changes, with predicted alteration of physical and chemical features, have been detected in the S protein that is postulated to beinvolved in the immunoreactions between the virus and its host. Two amino acid changes have been detected in the Mprotein, which could be related to viral envelope formation. Phylogenetic analysis suggests the possibility of non-human origin of the SARS-associated viruses but provides noevidence that they are man-made. Further efforts should focus on identifying the etiology of the SARS-associated virus and ruling out conclusively the existence of otherpossible SARS-related pathogen(s). | QIN E'de ZHU Qingyu YU Man FAN Baochang CHANG Guohui SI Bingyin YANG Bao PENG Wenming JIANG Tao LIU Bohua DENG Yongqiang LIU Hong ZHANG Yu WANG Cui LI Yuquan GAN Yonghua LI Xiaoyu L Fushuang TAN Gang CAO Wuchun, YANG Ruifu Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology, Chinese Academy of Military Medical Sciences, Beijing 100071, China WANG Jian, LI Wei, XU Zuyuan, LI Yan, WU Qingfa, LIN Wei, CHEN Weijun, TANG Lin, DENG Yajun, HAN Yujun, LI Changfeng, LEI Meng, LI Guoqing, LI Wenjie, L Hong, SHI Jianping, TONG Zongzhong, ZHANG Feng, LI Songgang, LIU Bin, LIU Siqi, DONG Wei, WANG Jun, Gane K-S Wong, YU Jun & YANG Huanming* Beijing Genomics Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 101300 National Center for Genome Information, Beijing 101300, China | 2003 | Chinese Science Bulletin2003,48,10: | 121

The Reference Genome of Tea Plant and Resequencing of 81 Diverse Accessions Provide Insights into Its Genome Evolution and Adaptation显示文摘Tea plant is an important economic crop, which is used to produce the world's oldest and most widely consumed tea beverages. Here,we present a high-quality reference genome assembly of the tea plant(Camellia sinensis var.sinensis)consisting of 15 pseudo-chromosomes.LTR retrotransposons(LTR-RTs)account for 70.38%of the genome, and we present evidence that LTR-RTS play critical roles in genome size expansion and the transcriptional diversification of tea plant genes through preferential insertion in promoter regions and introns.Genes, particularly those coding for terpene biosynthesis pro-teins,associated with tea aroma and stress resistance were significantly amplified through recent tandem duplications and exist as gene clusters in tea plant genome.Phylogenetic analysis of the sequences of 81 tea plant accessions with diverse origins revealed three well-differentiated tea plant populations,support-ing the proposition for the southwest origin of the Chinese cultivated tea plant and its later spread to western Asia through introduction.Domestication and modern breeding left significant signatures on hundreds of genes in the tea plant genome, particularly those associated with tea quality and stress resis-tance.The genomic sequences of the reported reference and resequenced tea plant accessions provide valuable resources for future functional genomics study and molecular breeding of improved cul-tivars of tea plants. | Enhua Xia Wei Tong Yan Hou Yanlin An Linbo Chen Qiong Wu Yunlong Liu Jie Yu Fangdong Li Ruopei Li Penghui Li Huijuan Zhao Ruoheng Ge Jin Huang Ali Inayat Mallano Yanrui Zhang Shengrui Liu Weiwei Deng Chuankui Song Zhaoliang Zhang Jian Zhao Shu Wei Zhengzhu Zhang Tao Xia Chaoling Wei Xiaochun Wan | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,7: | 51
Chinese expert consensus on cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for peritoneal malignancies显示文摘Locoregional spread of abdominopelvic malignant tumors frequently results in peritoneal carcinomatosis(PC). The prognosis of PC patients treated by conventional systemic chemotherapy is poor, with a median survival of < 6 mo. However, over the past three decades, an integrated treatment strategy of cytoreductive surgery(CRS) + hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC) has been developed by the pioneering oncologists, with proved efficacy and safety in selected patients. Supported by several lines of clinical evidence from phases Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ clinical trials, CRS + HIPEC has been regarded as the standard treatment for selected patients with PC in many established cancer centers worldwide. In China, an expert consensus on CRS + HIPEC has been reached by the leading surgical and medical oncologists, under the framework of the China Anti-Cancer Association. This expert consensus has summarized the progress in PC clinical studies and systematically evaluated the CRS + HIPEC procedures in China as well as across the world, so as to lay the foundation for formulating PC treatment guidelines specific to the national conditions of China. | Yan Li Yun-Feng Zhou Han Liang Hua-Qing Wang Ji-Hui Hao Zheng-Gang Zhu De-Seng Wan Lun-Xiu Qin Shu-Zhong Cui Jia-Fu Ji Hui-Mian Xu Shao-Zhong Wei Hong-Bin Xu Tao Suo Shu-Jun Yang Cong-Hua Xie Xiao-Jun Yang Guo-Liang Yang | 2016 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2016,22,30: | 58
Sevoflurane postconditioning reduces myocardial reperfusion injury in rat isolated hearts via activation of PI3K/Akt signaling and modulation of Bcl-2 family proteins显示文摘Sevoflurane postconditioning reduces myocardial infarct size. The objective of this study was to examine the role of the phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase(PI3K)/Akt pathway in anesthetic postconditioning and to determine whether PI3K/Akt signaling modulates the expression of pro-and antiapoptotic proteins in sevoflurane postconditioning.Isolated and perfused rat hearts were prepared first, and then randomly assigned to the following groups:Sham-operation(Sham),ischemia/reperfusion(Con),sevoflurane postconditioning(SPC),Sham plus 100 nmol/L wortmannin(Sham+Wort),Con+Wort,SPC+Wort, and Con+dimethylsulphoxide(DMSO).Sevoflurane postconditioning was induced by administration of sevoflurane(2.5%,v/v) for 10 min from the onset of reperfusion.Left ventricular developed pressure(LVDP),left ventricular end-diastolic pressure(LVEDP),maximum increase in rate of LVDP(+dP/dt),maximum decrease in rate of LVDP(?dP/dt),heart rate(HR),and coronary flow(CF) were measured at baseline,R30 min(30 min of reperfusion),R60 min,R90 min,and R120 min.Creatine kinase(CK) and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) were measured after 5 min and 10 min reperfusion.Infarct size was determined by triphenyltetrazolium chloride staining at the end of reperfusion.Total Akt and phosphorylated Akt(phospho-Akt),Bax,Bcl-2,Bad,and phospho-Bad were determined by Western blot analysis.Analysis of variance(ANOVA) and Student-Newman-Keuls' test were used to investigate the significance of differences between groups. The LVDP,±dP/dt,and CF were higher and LVEDP was lower in the SPC group than in the Con group at all points of reperfusion(P<0.05).The SPC group had significantly reduced CK and LDH release and decreased infarct size compared with the Con group [(22.9±8)% vs.(42.4±9.4)%,respectively;P<0.05].The SPC group also had increased the expression of phospho-Akt,Bcl-2,and phospho-Bad,and decreased the expression of Bax.Wortmannin abolished the cardioprotection of sevoflurane postconditioning.Sevoflurane postconditioning may protect the isolated rat heart.Activation of PI3K and modulation of the expression of pro-and antiapoptotic proteins may play an important role in sevoflurane-induced myocardial protection. | Li-na YU Jing YU Feng-jiang ZHANG Mei-juan YANG Ting-ting DING Jun-kuan WANG Wei HE Tao FANG Gang CHEN Min YAN | 2010 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2010,11,9: | 36
Deep structure beneath the southwestern section of the Longmenshan fault zone and seimogenetic context of the 4.20 Lushan M_S7.0 earthquake显示文摘Magnetotelluric measurements were carried out along two profiles across the middle and southwestern sections of the Longmenshan fault zone(LMSf)from 2009 to 2011,after the 2008 Wenchuan MW7.9 earthquake. The former profile crosses the Wenchuan event epicenter and the latter one crosses 2013 Lushan MS7.0 event epicenter. The data were analyzed using advanced processing techniques, including phase tensor and two-dimensional inversion methods,in order to obtain reliable 2-D profiles of the electrical structure in the vicinity of the two earthquakes.A comparison of the two profiles indicates both similarities and differences in the deep crustal structure of the LMSf.West of the southwestern section,a crustal high conductivity layer(HCL)is present at about 10 km depth below the Songpan-Garzêblock;this is about 10 km shallower than that under the middle section of the LMSf.A high resistivity body(HRB)is observed beneath the southwestern section, extending from the near surface to the top of upper mantle. It has a smaller size than the HRB observed below the middle section. In the middle section, there is a local area of decreased resistivity within the HRB but there is absence of this area. The 2013 Lushan earthquake occurred close to the eastern boundary of HRB and the Shuangshi-Dachuan fault,of which the seismogenic context has both common and different features in comparison with the 2008 Wenchuan event. On a large scale, the 2013 Lushan earthquake is associated with the HCL and deformation in the crust including HCL of the eastern Tibetan Plateau. In order to assess seismic risk,it is important to consider both the stress state and the detailed crustal structure in different parts of the LMSf. | ZHAN Yan ZHAO GuoZe UNSWORTH Martyn WANG LiFeng CHEN XiaoBin LI Tao XIAO QiBin WANG JiJun TANG Ji CAI JunTao WANG YanZhao | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28: | 39

Analysis of factors associated with disease outcomes in hospitalized patients with 2019 novel coronavirus disease显示文摘Background Since early December 2019,the 2019 novel coronavirus disease(COVID-19)has caused pneumonia epidemic in Wuhan,Hubei province of China. This study aimed to investigate the factors affecting the progression of pneumonia in COVID-19 patients.Associated results will be used to evaluate the prognosis and to find the optimal treatment regimens for COVID-19 pneumonia. Methods Patients tested positive for the COVID-19 based on nucleic acid detection were included in this study.Patients were admitted to 3 tertiary hospitals in Wuhan between December 30,2019,and January 15,2020.Individual data, laboratory indices, imaging characteristics, and clinical data were collected, and statistical analysis was performed.Based on clinical typing results, the patients were divided into a progression group or an improvement/stabilization group.Continuous variables were analyzed using independent samples t-test or Mann-Whitney U test.Categorical variables were analyzed using Chi-squared test or Fisher’s exact test.Logistic regression analysis was performed to explore the risk factors for disease progression. Results Seventy-eight patients with COVID-19-induced pneumonia met the inclusion criteria and were included in this study.Efficacy evaluation at 2 weeks after hospitalization indicated that 11 patients(14.1%)had deteriorated, and 67 patients(85.9%)had improved/stabilized.The patients in the progression group were significantly older than those in the disease improvement/stabilization group(66[51,70]vs.37[32,41]years,U=4.932,P=0.001).The progression group had a significantly higher proportion of patients with a history of smoking than the improvement/stabilization group(27.3%vs.3.0%,χ^2=9.291,P=0.018).For all the 78 patients, fever was the most common initial symptom, and the maximum body temperature at admission was significantly higher in the progression group than in the improvement/stabilization group(38.2[37.8,38.6]vs.37.5[37.0,38.4]°C,U=2.057,P=0.027).Moreover,the proportion of patients with respiratory failure(54.5%vs.20.9%,χ^2=5.611,P=0.028)and respiratory rate(34[18,48]vs.24[16,60]breaths/min,U=4.030,P=0.004)were significantly higher in the progression group than in the improvement/stabilization group.C-reactive protein was significantly elevated in the progression group compared to the improvement/stabilization group(38.9[14.3,64.8]vs.10.6[1.9,33.1]mg/L,U=1.315,P=0.024).Albumin was significantly lower in the progression group than in the improvement/stabilization group(36.62±6.60 vs.41.27±4.55 g/L,U=2.843,P=0.006).Patients in the progression group were more likely to receive high-level respiratory support than in the improvement/stabilization group(χ^2=16.01,P=0.001).Multivariate logistic analysis indicated that age(odds ratio[OR],8.546;95%confidence interval[CI]:1.628-44.864;P=0.011),history of smoking(OR,14.285;95%CI:1.577-25.000;P=0.018),maximum body temperature at admission(OR,8.999;95%CI:1.036-78.147,P=0.046),respiratory failure(OR,8.772,95%CI:1.942-40.000;P=0.016),albumin(OR,7.353,95%CI:1.098-50.000;P=0.003),and C-reactive protein(OR,10.530;95%CI:1.224-34.701,P=0.028)were risk factors for disease progression. Conclusions Several factors that led to the progression of COVID-19 pneumonia were identified, including age, history of smoking, maximum body temperature at admission, respiratory failure, albumin, and C-reactive protein. These results can be used to further enhance the ability of management of COVID-19 pneumonia. | Wei Liu Zhao-Wu Tao Lei Wang Ming-Li Yuan Kui Liu Ling Zhou Shuang Wei Yan Deng Jing Liu Hui-Guo Liu Ming Yang Yi Hu | 2020 | Chinese Medical Journal2020,,9: | 31
Fringe pattern analysis using deep learning显示文摘In many optical metrology techniques, fringe pattern analysis is the central algorithm for recovering the underlying phase distribution from the recorded fringe patterns.Despite extensive research efforts for decades, how to extract the desired phase information, with the highest possible accuracy, from the minimum number of fringe patterns remains one of the most challenging open problems.Inspired by recent successes of deep learning techniques for computer vision and other applications,we demonstrate for the first time,to our knowledge, that the deep neural networks can be trained to perform fringe analysis, which substantially enhances the accuracy of phase demodulation from a single fringe pattern. The effectiveness of the proposed method is experimentally verified using carrier fringe patterns under the scenario of fringe projection profilometry.Experimental results demonstrate its superior performance,in terms of high accuracy and edge-preserving,over two representative single-frame techniques:Fourier transform profilometry and windowed Fourier transform profilometry. | Shijie Feng Qian Chen Guohua Gu Tianyang Tao Liang Zhang Yan Hu Wei Yin Chao Zuo | 2019 | Advanced Photonics2019,1,2: | 31
Coalbed methane genesis, occurrence and accumulation in China显示文摘Coalbed methane (CBM) is an important type of unconventional gas. Commercial development of CBM in America has been very successful since the 1980s. The CBM industry in Australia and Canada has developed rapidly during the last decade. Commercial development of CBM in China started in the 1990s, and has made great progress. The geological theory of CBM in China has achieved great advancement in genesis, occurrence and accumulation. On the aspect of CBM genesis, five CBM genetic types (primary biogenic gas, secondary biogenic gas, thermal degradation gas, pyrolysis gas and mixed gas) are identified by studying the geochemical characteristics of CBM, and a tracing indicator system is established. The discovery of secondary biogenic gas in medium-high rank coal reservoirs has widened the potential of CBM resources. On the aspect of CBM occurrence, the gas adsorption regulation under combined action of temperature and pressure is revealed by conducting adsorption experiments of different coal ranks under varying temperature and pressure conditions. Besides, by applying the adsorption potential theory in CBM research, the adsorption model under combined action of temperature and pressure is established. The new model can predict CBM resources accurately, and overcome the limitation of the traditional Langmuir model which uses just a single factor to describe the adsorption characteristics of deep buried coal. On the aspect of CBM accumulation, it is proposed that there are three evolutionary stages during CBM accumulation, including gas generation and adsorption, unsaturated gas adsorption, gas desorption-diffusion and preservation. Controlled by tectonic evolution, hydrodynamics and sealing conditions, CBM tends to be regionally enriched in synclines. Advances in geological theory of CBM in China can not only improve understanding of natural gas, but also provide new ideas for further exploration of CBM. | Song Yan Liu Shaobo Zhang Qun Tao Mingxin Zhao Mengjun Hong Feng | 2012 | Petroleum Science2012,9,3: | 29
The Association of Maternal Body Composition and Dietary Intake with the Risk of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus during the Second Trimester in a Cohort of Chinese Pregnant Women显示文摘Objective To investigate the association of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM). Methods A total 154 GDM subjects and 981 controls were enrolled in a prospective cohort study in 11 hospitals from May 20, 2012 to December 31, 2013. Bioelectrical impedance analysis and dietary surveys were used to determine body composition and to evaluate the intake of nutrients in subjects at 21-24 weeks' gestation(WG). Logistic regression analysis was applied to explore the relationships of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of GDM morbidity. Results Age, pre-pregnant body weight(BW), and body mass index(BMI) were associated with increased risk of GDM. Fat mass(FM), fat mass percentage(FMP), extracellular water(ECW), BMI, BW, energy, protein, fat, and carbohydrates at 21-24 WG were associated with an increased risk of GDM. In contrast, fat free mass(FFM), muscular mass(MM), and intracellular water(ICW) were associated with a decreased risk of GDM. Conclusion Maternal body composition and dietary intake during the second trimester of pregnancy were associated with the risk of GDM morbidity. | Xu Qing Gao Zhi Ying Li Li Ming Wang Lu Zhang Qian Teng Yue Zhao Xia Ge Sheng Jing Hong Jiang Yang Yong Tao Liu Xiao Jun Lyu Chun Jian Mao Lun Yu Xiao Ming Liu Ying Hua Kong Ai Jing Yang Xue Yan Liu Zhao Zhang Yong Wang Jin Zhang Xin Sheng Xue Chang Yong Lu Yan Ping | 2016 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2016,29,1: | 29
Moxibustion regulates inflammatory mediators and colonic mucosal barrier in ulcerative colitis rats显示文摘AIM: To observe the efficacy and mechanism of grainsized moxibustion at different acupoints in a rat model of ulcerative colitis(UC). METHODS: Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into control, UC model, grain-sized moxibustion at a single acupoint(CV 12), grain-sized moxibustion at two acupoints(CV 12 and CV 4), grain-sized moxibustion at three acupoints(CV 12, CV 4, and ST 36), and medication groups(n = 8/group). The UC model was established by enema of trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid. Direct moxibustion was used once a day for 7 d. Disease activity index(DAI) was evaluated before and after the treatment. Morphologic changes of intestinal tissue were observed under an optical microscope. The expression of tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(p38MAPK) in colonic tissue was detected using Western blot, and the levels of occludin and zonula occludens-1(ZO-1) m RNAs were detected using reverse transcription PCR. RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the intestinal mucosae were incomplete in the model group, glandular structures were irregular, and submucosae were edematous, hyperemic, and infiltrated with inflammatory cells. The DAI scores and expression ofTNF-α and p38 MAPK were increased significantly in the model group compared to controls(P s < 0.01), while the m RNA levels of occludin and ZO-1 were reduced significantly(P s < 0.01). Compared with the model group, colonic mucosa and the arrangement of glands were complete and regular in the treatment groups. DAI scores and the expression of TNF-α and p38 MAPK were reduced significantly in moxibustion groups compared to controls(P s < 0.01), while the m RNA levels of occludin and ZO-1 were increased significantly(P s < 0.01). The improvements in the above indices in the three acupoints group and the medication group were superior to those in the single and two acupoints groups(all P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Reduction of TNF-α and p38 MAPK and increased expression of occludin and ZO-1 in colonic tissue represent a potential mechanism for improved intestinal mucosal tissue repair with grain-sized moxibustion. | Tie-Ming Ma Na Xu Xian-De Ma Zeng-Hua Bai Xing Tao Hong-Chi Yan | 2016 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2016,22,8: | 30

METHODS: A SAP model was induced by retrograde injection of artificial bile into the pancreatic ducts of rats. Animals were divided randomly into three groups (n = 32 in each group): sham group, SAP group and delayed EP treatment group. The rats in the delayed EP treatment group received EP (30 mg/kg) at 12 h, 18 h and 30 h after induction of SAP. Animals were sacrificed, and samples were obtained at 24 h and 48 h after induction of SAP. Serum HMGB1, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and creatinine (Cr) levels were measured. Lung wet-to-dry-weight (W/D) ratios and histological scores were calculated to evaluate lung injury. Additional experiments were performed between SAP and delayed EP treatment groups to study the in? uence of EP on survival times of SAP rats. RESULTS: Delayed EP treatment significantly reduced serum HMGB1 levels, and protected against liver, renal and lung injury with reduced lung W/D ratios (8.22 ±0.42 vs 9.76 ± 0.45, P < 0.01), pulmonary histological scores (7.1 ± 0.7 vs 8.4 ± 1.1, P < 0.01), serum AST (667 ± 103 vs 1 368 ± 271, P < 0.01), ALT (446 ± 91 vs 653 ± 98, P < 0.01) and Cr (1.2 ± 0.3 vs 1.8 ± 0.3, P < 0.01) levels. SAP rats had a median survival time of 44 h. Delayed EP treatment signifi cantly prolonged median survival time to 72 h (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: Delayed EP therapy protects against distant organ injury and prolongs survival time via reduced serum HMGB1levels in rats with experimental SAP. EP may potentially serve as an effective new therapeutic option against the inflammatory response and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) in SAP patients. | Zhi-Yong Yang Yan Ling Tao Yin Jing Tao Jiong-Xin Xiong He-Shui Wu Chun-You Wang | 2008 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2008,14,28: | 23 |
CD146 acts as a novel receptor for netrin-1 in promoting angiogenesis and vascular development显示文摘Angiogenesis,最新形成的血容器从先存在发芽的一个过程,为脊椎动物开发和成年动态平衡是重要的。 | Tao Tu Chunxia Zhang Huiwen Yan Yongting Luo Ruirui Kong Pushuai Wen Zhongde Ye Jianan Chen Jing Feng Feng Liu Jane Y Wu Xiyun Yan | 2015 | Cell Research2015,25,3: | 23
Effects of dietary yeast β-glucan on nutrient digestibility and serum profiles in pre-ruminant Holstein calves显示文摘This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary supplementation of yeast β-glucan on the nutrient digestibility and serum profiles in pre-ruminant Holstein calves. Forty-two neonatal Holstein calves((39.6±4.2) kg) were randomly allotted to six groups, and each was offered one of the following diets: a basal diet(control) or the basal diet supplemented with 25, 50, 75, 100 or 200 mg of yeast β-glucan kg–1 feed(dry matter basis). The basal diet consisted of a milk replacer and a starter feed. The trial lasted for 56 d. Two digestibility trials were conducted from d 14 to 20 and from d 42 to 48. Blood samples were collected on d 0, 14, 28 and 42 for serum profile analyses. On d 56, three calves from each group were slaughtered, and intestinal samples were collected to assess the villous height, crypt depth and mucosal thickness. Although feed intake was not affected by dietary treatment(P>0.05), the average daily gain(ADG) and gain-to-feed ratios were higher(P<0.05) for the calves fed 75 mg of yeast β-glucan kg–1 feed than those in the other groups. The supplementation of yeast β-glucan at 75 mg kg–1 feed increased the apparent digestibility of dry matter(DM), crude protein(CP), ether extract(EE), and phosphorus(P)(P<0.05) and the ratio of intestinal villous height to crypt depth(V/C)(P<0.05) when compared with the control group. No effects of yeast β-glucan on the serum concentrations of total protein(TP), albumin(ALB), serum urea nitrogen(SUN) and glucose(GLU) were observed(P>0.05). Compared with the control group, supplementation of yeast β-glucan decreased(P<0.05) the serum concentrations of triglycerides(TG) and total cholesterol(TC). The serum concentration of immunoglobulin G(Ig G) and immunoglobulin M(Ig M) increased quadratically(P<0.05), whereas the serum concentration of immunoglobulin A(Ig A) was unaffected by dietary treatments(P>0.05). The supplementation of yeast β-glucan stimulated the enzymatic activity of alkaline phosphatase(ALP)(P<0.05) compared with the control group. The lysozyme(LYZ) concentration increased quadratically(P<0.05) with increasing yeast β-glucan levels. The results suggested that dietary supplementation of yeast β-glucan at 75 mg kg–1 feed improved nutrient digestibility, enhanced immunity by increasing the immunoglobulin concentration and stimulating ALP, and exerted no adverse effects on metabolism in pre-ruminant calves. | MA Tao TU Yan ZHANG Nai-feng GUO Jiang-peng DENG Kai-dong ZHOU Yi YUN Qiang DIAO Qi-yu | 2015 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2015,14,4: | 23
