The Cenozoic activities of Yangjiang-Yitongdong Fault: insights from analysis of the tectonic characteristics and evolution processes in western Zhujiang(Pearl) River Mouth Basin显示文摘The Yangjiang-Yitongdong Fault (YJF) is an important NW-trending regional fault, which divides the Zhujiang (Pearl) River Mouth Basin (ZRMB) into western and eastern segments. In Cenozoic, the northern continental margin of the South China Sea (SCS) underwent continental rifting, breakup, seafloor spreading and thermal subsidence processes, and the Cenozoic activities of YJF is one part of this series of complex processes. Two long NW-trending multichannel seismic profiles located on both sides of the YJF extending from the continental shelf to Continent-Ocean Boundary (COB) were used to study the tectonic and sedimentary characteristics of western ZRMB. Using the 2D-Move software and back-stripping method, we constructed the balance cross-section model and calculated the fault activity rate. Through the comprehensive consideration of tectonic position, tectonic evolution history, featured structure, and stress analysis, we deduced the activity history of the YJF in Cenozoic. The results showed that the YJF can be divided into two segments by the central uplift belt. From 65 Ma to 32 Ma, the YJF was in sinistral motion as a whole, inherited the preexisting sinistral motion of Mesozoic YJF, in which, the southern part of YJF was mainly in extension activity, controlling the formation and evolution of Yunkai Low Uplift, coupled with slight sinistral motion. From 32 Ma to 23.8 Ma, the sinistral motion in northern part of YJF continued, while the sinistral motion in southern part began to stop or shifted to a slightly dextral motion. After 23.8 Ma, the dextral motion in southern part of YJF continued, while the sinistral motion in northern part of YJF gradually stopped, or shifted to the slightly dextral motion. The shift of the YJF strike-slip direction may be related to the magmatic underplating in continent-ocean transition, southeastern ZRMB. According to the analysis of tectonic activity intensity and rift sedimentary structure, the activities of YJF in Cenozoic played a regulating role in the rift extension process of ZRMB. | Yuhan Li Rongwei Zhu Hailing Liu Xuelin Qiu Haibo Huang | 2019 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2019,38,9: | 10
Unsteady flow characteristic analysis of turbine based combined cycle(TBCC)inlet mode transition10.1016/j.jppr.2015.07.006显示文摘A turbine based combined cycle(TBCC)propulsion system uses a turbine-based engine to accelerate the vehicle from takeoff to the mode transition flight condition,at which point, the propulsion system performs a“mode transition”from the turbine to ramjet engine.Smooth inlet mode transition is accomplished when flow is diverted from one flowpath to the other, without experiencing unstart or buzz. The smooth inlet mode transition is a complex unsteady process and it is one of the enabling technologies for combined cycle engine to become a functional reality. In order to unveil the unsteady process of inlet mode transition, the research of over/under TBCC inlet mode transition was conducted through a numerical simulation. It shows that during the mode transition the terminal shock oscillates in the inlet.During the process of inlet mode transition mass flow rate and Mach number of turbojet flowpath reduce with oscillation. While in ramjet flowpath the flow field is non-uniform at the beginning of inlet mode transition. The speed of mode transition and the operation states of the turbojet and ramjet engines will affect the motion of terminal shock. The result obtained in present paper can help us realize the unsteady flow characteristic during the mode transition and provide some suggestions for TBCC inlet mode transition based on the smooth transition of thrust. | Jun Liu Huacheng Yuan Rongwei Guo | 2015 | Propulsion and Power Research2015,4,3: | 4
Memway:In-Memory Waylaying Acceleration for Practical Rowhammer Attacks Against Binaries显示文摘The Rowhammer bug is a novel micro-architectural security threat, enabling powerful privilege-escalation attacks on various mainstream platforms. It works by actively flipping bits in Dynamic Random Access Memory(DRAM) cells with unprivileged instructions. In order to set up Rowhammer against binaries in the Linux page cache, the Waylaying algorithm has previously been proposed. The Waylaying method stealthily relocates binaries onto exploitable physical addresses without exhausting system memory. However, the proof-of-concept Waylaying algorithm can be easily detected during page cache eviction because of its high disk I/O overhead and long running time. This paper proposes the more advanced Memway algorithm, which improves on Waylaying in terms of both I/O overhead and speed. Running time and disk I/O overhead are reduced by 90% by utilizing Linux tmpfs and inmemory swapping to manage eviction files. Furthermore, by combining Memway with the unprivileged posix fadvise API, the binary relocation step is made 100 times faster. Equipped with our Memway+fadvise relocation scheme,we demonstrate practical Rowhammer attacks that take only 15–200 minutes to covertly relocate a victim binary, and less than 3 seconds to flip the target instruction bit. | Lai Xu Rongwei Yu Lina Wang Weijie Liu | 2019 | Tsinghua Science and Technology2019,24,5: | 3
Mesozoic Deformation and Its Geological Significance in the Southern Margin of the South China Sea显示文摘The pre-Eocene history of the region around the present South China Sea is not well known. New multi-channel seismic profiles provide valuable insights into the probable Mesozoic history of this region. Detailed structural and stratigraphic interpretations of the multi-channel seismic profiles, calibrated with relevant drilling and dredging data, show major Mesozoic structural features. A structural restoration was done to remove the Cenozoic tectonic influence and calculate the Mesozoic tectonic compression ratios. The results indicate that two groups of compressive stress with diametrically opposite orientations, S(S)E– N(N)W and N(N)W–S(S)E, were active during the Mesozoic. The compression ratio values gradually decrease from north to south and from west to east in each stress orientation. The phenomena may be related to the opening of the proto-South China Sea(then located in south of the Nansha block) and the rate at which the Nansha block drifted northward in the late Jurassic to late Cretaceous. The Nansha block drifted northward until it collided and sutured with the southern China margin. The opening of the present South China Sea may be related to this suture zone, which was a tectonic zone of weakness. | ZHU Rongwei LIU Hailing YAO Yongjian WANG Yin | 2018 | Journal of Ocean University of China2018,17,4: | 3
In vivo evaluation of additively manufacturedmulti-layered scaffold for the repair of large osteochondral defects显示文摘The repair of osteochondral defects is one of the major clinical challenges in orthopaedics.Well-established osteochondral tissue engineering methods have shown promising results for the early treatment of small defects. However, less success has been achieved for the regeneration of large defects, which is mainly due to the mechanical environment of the joint and the heterogeneous nature of the tissue. In this study,we developed a multi-layered osteochondral scaffold to match the heterogeneous nature of osteochondral tissue by harnessing additive manufacturing technologies and combining the established art laser sintering and material extrusion techniques. The developed scaffold is based on a titanium and polylactic acid matrix-reinforced collagen“sandwich”composite system. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the scaffold were examined, and its safety and efficacy in the repair of large osteochondral defects were tested in an ovine condyle model. The 12-week in vivo evaluation period revealed extensive and significantly higher bone in-growth in the multi-layered scaffold compared with the collagen–HAp scaffold, and the achieved stable mechanical fixation provided strong support to the healing of the overlying cartilage,as demonstrated by hyaline-like cartilage formation. The histological examination showed that the regenerated cartilage in the multi-layer scaffold group was superior to that formed in the control group.Chondrogenic genes such as aggrecan and collagen-II were upregulated in the scaffold and were higher than those in the control group. The findings showed the safety and efficacy of the cell-free“translation-ready”osteochondral scaffold, which has the potential to be used in a one-step surgical procedure for the treatment of large osteochondral defects. | Maryam Tamaddon Gordon Blunn Rongwei Tan Pan Yang Xiaodan Sun Shen-Mao Chen Jiajun Luo Ziyu Liu Ling Wang Dichen Li Ricardo Donate Mario Monzón Chaozong Liu | 2022 | Bio-Design and Manufacturing2022,5,3: | 2
Reconstruction of Surface Porous PEEK Decorated with Strontium-doped Calcium Phosphate Coatings for Enhancing Osteogenic Activity显示文摘The aim of this study was to reconstruct surface porous structure with hundreds of micrometers and then bio-mineralize Sr-doped Calcium Phosphate(Sr-doped CaP)on Polyetheretherketone(PEEK)profile to enhance its bioactivity.A surface porous structure was prepared on PEEK profile by embedding and acid-etching of SiO2 particles as porogen(SP-PEEK).Then the Sr-doped CaP was further decorated on the porous surface after sulfonation, introduction of Sr-doped CaP crystal seeds and bio-mineralization in 1.5 times simulated body fluid(BSSP-PEEK-CaP/Sr).It was feasible to reconstruct the surface porous structure with hundreds of micrometers on PEEK profile by the present method without damaging its mechanical properties. The Sr-doped CaP crystal seeds effectively promoted the bio-mineralization of bio-inertness PEEK.All as-prepared PEEK did not inhibit the proliferation of cells.ALP of bio-mineralized groups was significantly increased than that of the other groups. The BSSP-PEEK-CaP/Sr obviously affected the morphology and promoted the adhesion and spreading of cells. As a result, the cyto-biocompatibity and bioactivity of PEEK were improved after bio-mineralization.Sr-doped CaP on PEEK most likely was beneficial for cells, which was associated with the increasing of the hydrophilicity on PEEK.This study provided a candidate method to improve the osteogenesis of PEEK implants. | Chengcheng Liang Xiong Xiong Rongwei Cui Yuanxiao Hong Xin Liu Guoru Zhao Lizi Ye Shuxin Qu | 2021 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2021,18,4: | 2
Osteochondral scaffolds for early treatment of cartilage defects in osteoarthritic joints:from bench to clinic显示文摘Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease, typified by the loss in the quality of cartilage and bone at the interface of a synovial joint, resulting in pain, stiffness and reduced mobility. The current surgical treatment for advanced stages of the disease is joint replacement, where the non-surgical therapeutic options or less invasive surgical treatments are no longer effective. These are major surgical procedures which have a substantial impact on patients’quality of life and lifetime risk of requiring revision surgery.Treatments using regenerative methods such as tissue engineering methods have been established and are promising for the early treatment of cartilage degeneration in osteoarthritis joints. In this approach,3-dimensional scaffolds(with or without cells)are employed to provide support for tissue growth. However, none of the currently available tissue engineering and regenerative medicine products promotes satisfactory durable regeneration of large cartilage defects.Herein,we discuss the current regenerative treatment options for cartilage and osteochondral(cartilage and underlying subchondral bone)defects in the articulating joints. We further identify the main hurdles in osteochondral scaffold development for achieving satisfactory and durable regeneration of osteochondral tissues. The evolution of the osteochondral scaffolds–from monophasic to multiphasic constructs–is overviewed and the osteochondral scaffolds that have progressed to clinical trials are examined with respect to their clinical performances and their potential impact on the clinical practices.Development of an osteochondral scaffold which bridges the gap between small defect treatment and joint replacement is still a grand challenge.Such scaffold could be used for early treatment of cartilage and osteochondral defects at early stage of osteoarthritis and could either negate or delay the need for joint replacements. | Maryam Tamaddon Helena Gilja Ling Wang JMiguel Oliveira Xiaodan Sun Rongwei Tan Chaozong Liu | 2020 | Biomaterials Translational2020,1,1: | 1

Cryptanalysis of a Cryptosystem with Non- Commutative Platform Groups显示文摘A cryptosystem with non-commutative platform groups based on conjugator search problem was recently introduced at Neural Computing and Applications 2016. Its versatility was illustrated by building a public-key encryption scheme. We propose an algebraic key-recovery attack in the polynomial computational complexity. Furthermore, we peel off the encryption and decryption process and propose attack methods for solving the conjugator search problem over the given non-abelian group. Finally, we provide corresponding practical attack examples to illustrate the attack methods in our cryptanalysis, and provide some improved suggestions. | Jinhui Liu Jianwei Jia Huanguo Zhang Rongwei Yu Yong Yu Wangqing Wu | 2018 | China Communications2018,15,2: | 1
Enhanced chemical trapping and catalytic conversion of polysulfides by diatomite/MXene hybrid interlayer for stable Li-S batteries显示文摘Lithium-Sulfur (Li-S) batteries with high theoretical energy density are promising energy storage systems in the next decades, while the lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) shuttling caused by the sluggish sulfur redox reaction severely lowers the practical performance. The use of interlayer between the cathode and separator has been widely investigated to physically or chemically block the LiPSs, while the introduction of catalytic materials is a more effective strategy to accelerate the conversion of LiPSs. MXene with rich surface chemistry has shown its potential for facilitating the catalytic conversion, however, the aggregation of MXene sheets usually leads to the loss of the catalytic active sites. Herein, we report a diatomite/MXene (DE/MX) hybrid material as the bifunctional interlayer for improving the adsorption/conversion of LiPSs in Li-S batteries. The diatomite with porous structure and rich silica-hydroxyl functional groups could trap LiPSs effectively, while prevent the aggregation of MXene. The DE/MX based interlayer showed bifunctions of enhancing the chemical adsorption and promoting the conversion of LiPSs. The Li-S batteries with the DE/MX interlayer delivered an improved cycling stability with a low capacity decay of 0.059% per cycle over 1000 cycles at 1.0 C. Moreover, stable 200 cycles can be realized with a high sulfur loading electrode up to 6.0 mg cm^(−2). This work provides an effective strategy to construct bifunctional interlayers for hindering the shuttling of LiPSs and boosting the practical application of Li-S batteries. | Zehui Fan Chen Zhang Wuxing Hua Huan Li Yan Jiao Jingyi Xia Chuan-Nan Geng Rongwei Meng Yingxin Liu Quanjun Tang Ziyang Lu Tongxin Shang Guowei Ling Quan-Hong Yang | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,11: | 1
Optimization of fixed aviation support resource station configuration for aircraft carrier based on aircraft dispatch mission scheduling显示文摘Before the dispatch of the carrier-based aircraft,a series of pre-flight preparation operations need to be completed on the flight deck.Flight deck fixed aviation support resource station configuration has an important impact on operation efficiency and sortie rate. However, the resource station configuration is determined during the aircraft carrier design phase and is rarely modified as required, which may not be suitable for some pre-flight preparation missions. In order to solve the above defects, the joint optimization of flight deck resource station configuration and aircraft carrier pre-flight preparation scheduling is studied in this paper, which is formulated as a two-tier optimization decision-making framework. An improved variable neighborhood search algorithm with four original neighborhood structures is presented.Dispatch mission experiment and algorithm performance comparison experiment are carried out in the computational experiment section. The correlation between the pre-flight preparation time(makespan)and flight deck cabin occupancy percentage is given, and advantages of the proposed algorithm in solving the mathematical model are verified. | Yujie LIU Wei HAN Xichao SU Rongwei CUI | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2023,36,2: | 1

Establishing a cat model of acute optic nerve injury显示文摘BACKGROUND: In order to investigate the progress in optic nerve injury and the following regeneration and repair, many kinds of animal models of optic nerve injury have been established, such as models of acute and chronic ocular hypertension, compression, amputating wound, ischemia reperfusion or hypoxia, intravitreal injection of excitatory amino acids, etc. However, most of these models are established by squeezing intraorbital optic nerve, and suitable for ophthalmology, and there are fewer models suitable for the acute cranial contusion in neurosurgery. OBJECTIVE: To observe the changes of optic nerve after acute injury, and the characteristics of methods for establishing model of acute optic nerve injury in cats. DESIGN: A complete randomized grouping and controlled animal trial. SETTING: Department of Neurosurgery, General Hospital of Ji'nan Military Area Command of Chinese PLA. MATERIALS: Twenty-eight healthy adult cats, common degree, either sex, weighing 2.0-3.5 kg, were provided by the animal experimental center of Fudan University. The cats were randomly divided into control group (n =3) and model group (n =25), and 5 cats in the model group were observed at 6 hours and 1, 3, 7 and 14 days after injury respectively. JX-2000 biological signal processing system (Department of Physiology, Second Military Medical University of Chinese PLA, Shanghai); Inverted phase contrast microscope (Olympus); Axioplan 2 imaging microgram analytical system (Labsystems). METHODS: The experiments were carried out in the Department of Neurosurgery, General Hospital of Jinan Military Area Command of Chinese PLA from June 2004 to June 2005. The cats in the model groups were made into models of acute optic nerve injury: The cats were anesthetized, then the limbs were fixed in a lateral recumbent position. Pterion approach in human was imitated, the operative incision was made along the line between lateral canthus and tragus, and it could be seen deep along the skull base that white optic nerve (about 3 mm) went through optic foramen and entered into brain tissue. It was squeezed with noninvasive vascular clip for 20 seconds, then the clip was removed, and then the skull was closed after it was examined to be no bleeding. The size of bilateral pupils, direct and indirect light reflexes were observed postoperatively. Successfully established models were judged by larger operated pupil than controlateral one, disappearance of direct light reflex and the existence of indirect light reflex. No model establishment was performed in the control group. Each cat was tested with flash visual evoked potential (F-VEP) to observe the electrophysiological changes before and after experiment. All the cats in the control group and model groups were killed under anesthesia before model establishment and at 6 hours, 1, 3, 7 and 14 days after model establishment respectively, and the pathological changes of the optic nerve after injury were observed under electron microscope and light microscope. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: VEP and the ultrastructural changes of optic nerve after acute optic nerve injury in both groups. RESULTS: All the 28 cats were involved in the analysis of results. ① VEP results: The VEP latencies were obviously different between the control group and model group at each time point (P < 0.05), whereas there were no obvious differences among different time points in the model group (P > 0.05). The VEP amplitudes were obviously different between the control group and model group at each time point (P < 0.05), whereas there were no obvious differences among different time points in the model group (P > 0.05). ② Ultrastructural changes of the optic nerve: Under electron microscope, normal optic nerve myelin sheath had complete structure, tramal plates were clear and arranged tightly, axolemma was complete, whereas the structures of endoneurium, myelin sheath, tramal plates, axolemma and axon were in disorders after optic nerve injury. CONCLUSION: Models of acute optic nerve injury established by squeezing intracranial optic nerve with noninvasive vascular clip can be applied in studying intracranial acute optic nerve injury. | Feng Yu Gang Sui Shaoji Yuan Rongwei Zhang Zisheng Liu Peigang Lu | 2007 | Neural Regeneration Research2007,2,9: | 1
Genesis of Dolomite from Ma5^5-Ma5^10 Sub-members of the Ordovician Majiagou Formation in the Jingxi Area in the Ordos Basin显示文摘We clarified three stages of dolomitization and secondary changes by studying the petrology and geochemistry characteristics of dolomite from the Ma5~5-Ma5^(10) sub-members of the Ordovician Majiagou Formation in the Jingxi area in the Ordos Basin:(1) Syngenetic microbial dolomitization is characterized by formation of dolomite with a mainly micrite structure and horse tooth-shape dolomite cements.(2) Seepage reflux dolomitization during the penecontemporaneous period superposed adjustment functions such as recrystallization and stabilization in the middle-deep burial stage, forming dolomites mainly consisting of micro crystal and powder crystal structure.(3) Powder dolomite, fine dolomite, and medium-coarse crystalline dolomite formed in pores and fractures in the middle-deep burial stage. The secondary concussive transgression-regression under a regressive background is an important condition for the occurrence of many stages of dolomitization in the study area. The basin was an occlusive epicontinental sea environment in the MaS member of the Ordovician Majiagou Formation sedimentary period. In the sediments, sulfate content was high, which is conducive to the preservation of microbial activity and microbial dolomitization.Micritic dolomite formed by microbial dolomitization provides good migration pathways for seepage reflux dolomitization.Affected by evaporation seawater with increased Mg/Ca ratio, seepage reflux dolomitization was widely developed and formed large-scale dolomite, and underwater uplifts and slopes are favorable areas for dolomite. In the middle-deep burial stage, dolomitizing fluid in the stratum recrystallized or stabilized the previous dolomite and formed a small amount of euhedral dolomite in the pores and fractures. | LIU Jingdong JIANG Youlu LIU Xinshe YANG Zhiwei HOU Xiangdong ZHU Rongwei WEN Caixia WANG Feiyan | 2017 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2017,91,4: | 1
