| 1 | Crustal structure of northeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau by receiver function inversion显示文摘Using seismic data of about one year recorded by 18 broadband stations of ASCENT project,we obtained 2547 receiver functions in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau.The Moho depths under 14 stations were calculated by applying the H-κ domain search algorithm.The Moho depths under the stations with lower signal-noise ratio(SNR) were estimated by the time delay of the PS conversion.Results show that the Moho depth varies in a range of ~40–60 km.The Moho near the Haiyuan fault is vague,and its depth is larger than those on its two sides.In the Qinling-Qilian Block,the Moho becomes shallower gradually from west to east.To the east of 105°E,the average depth of the Moho is 45 km,whereas the west is 50 km or even deeper.Combining our results with surface wave research,we suggest a boundary between the Qinling and the Qilian Mountains at around 105°E.S wave velocities beneath 15 stations have been obtained through a linear inversion by using Crust2.0 as an initial model,and the crustal thickness that was derived by H-κ domain search algorithm was also taken into account.The results are very similar to the results of previous active source studies.The resulting figure indicates that low velocity layers developed in the middle and lower crust beneath the transition zone of the Tibet Block and western Qinling,which may be related to regional faults and deep earth dynamics.The velocity of the middle and lower crust increases from the Songpan Block to the northeastern margin of Tibetan Plateau.Based on the velocity of the crust,the distribution of the low velocity zone and the composition of the curst(Poisson's ratio),we infer that the crust thickening results from the crust shortening along the direction of compression. | LIU QiMin ZHAO JunMeng LU Fang LIU HongBing | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,4: | 23 |
| 2 | Typical Geochemical Elements in Loess Deposit in the Northeastern Tibetan Plateau and Its Paleoclimatic Implication显示文摘Widespread and thick loess deposit in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau records paleoclimatic changes over the Quaternary period. In this study, we investigate a loess section located in a high terrace of the Huangshui River in the Xining Basin, and collect samples at 20-cm intervals by digging a well of 16-m depth (including paleosol S1 and S0 and several loess interlayers over the last glacial-interglacial cycle and the Holocene). Concentration of some active elements (Sr and Ca) and inert elements (Rb, Zr, Ti) in these loess samples are measured. The results show that ratios of those elements (oxide), such as Rb/Sr, Ti/Sr, and Zr/CaO ratios, would indicate sensitively paleoclimatic changes, especially the history of precipitation over the last glacial-interglacial and the Holocene. Moreover, the curves of Rb/Sr, Ti/Sr, and Zr/CaO ratios had almost the same variable trends from the bottom to the top and also closely correlated with values of magnetic susceptibility and the global marine δ18O record. But compared with the curves of magnetic susceptibility, the changes of ratios of these elements (oxide) are clearer and easy to understand. | 3 | Abnormal Effective Connectivity in the Brain is Involved in Auditory Verbal Hallucinations in Schizophrenia显示文摘Information flow among auditory and language processing-related regions implicated in the pathophysiology of auditory verbal hallucinations(AVHs) in schizophrenia(SZ) remains unclear. In this study, we used stochastic dynamic causal modeling(s DCM) to quantify connections among the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(inner speech monitoring), auditory cortex(auditory processing), hippocampus(memory retrieval), thalamus(information filtering), and Broca's area(language production) in 17 first-episode drug-na?¨ve SZ patients with AVHs, 15 without AVHs, and 19 healthy controls using resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging.Finally, we performed receiver operating characteristic(ROC) analysis and correlation analysis between image measures and symptoms. s DCM revealed an increasedsensitivity of auditory cortex to its thalamic afferents and a decrease in hippocampal sensitivity to auditory inputs in SZ patients with AVHs. The area under the ROC curve showed the diagnostic value of these two connections to distinguish SZ patients with AVHs from those without AVHs. Furthermore, we found a positive correlation between the strength of the connectivity from Broca's area to the auditory cortex and the severity of AVHs. These findings demonstrate, for the first time, augmented AVHspecific excitatory afferents from the thalamus to the auditory cortex in SZ patients, resulting in auditory perception without external auditory stimuli. Our results provide insights into the neural mechanisms underlying AVHs in SZ. | 4 | Carbon and nitrogen isotopes analysis and sources of organic matter in the upper reaches of the Chaobai River near Beijing,China显示文摘The carbon and nitrogen isotopes in the surface sediments,plants,and soil in the upper reaches of the Chaobai River have been researched.The results showed 27.75‰-21.58‰ and 1.32‰-6.74‰ for carbon and nitrogen isotopic ratios in the surface sediments,respectively.The sources of sedimentary organic matter in this area are soil organic matter,aquatic vascular plants,and riverine plankton,respectively,and a significant contributor to sediment in the Chaohe River,the Baihe River,and the Miyun Reservoir areas is soil organic matter.Furthermore,part of sedimentary organic matter in the Miyun Reservoir is attributed to the input from the Chaohe River and the Baihe River,the other is from C4 vegetation growing around individual point stations at the Miyun Reservoir.Compared with the situation in Hebei Province,the contribution of soil organic matter decreased significantly and river plankton and aquatic vascular plants increased significantly in Beijing municipal areas.This study reveals that the source of organic matter has a close relationship with the soil erosion. | LU FengYun LIU ZhuQing JI HongBing | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,2: | 6 |
| 5 | A 5'-flanking region polymorphism in toll-like receptor 4 is associated with gastric cancer in a Chinese population显示文摘Objective:Inflammation induced by H.pylori colonization in the stomach is related to the development of gastric cancer and the genetic variations of the genes involved in the immune responses modify the host response to the infection. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether polymorphisms in the toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) gene, a key regulator of both innate and adaptive immunity, were related to the susceptibility togastric cancer in a Chinese population. Methods: Two variations in the 5'-flanking region of TLR4 (rs1927914 T>C and rs10759932 T>C) were genotyped by using the PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) assay in a case-control study of 1,053 incident gastric cancer cases and 1,100 cancer-free controls in a Chinese population. Results: Individuals carrying the C allele of rs10759932 had a significantly reduced risk of gastric cancer (adjusted OR=0.81; 95%CI=0.67-0.96), compared with the wild-type homozygote (TT), and the protective effect was not significantly different among subgroups stratified by age, sex, smoking, drinking and H.pylori infection status (P for heterogeneity >0.05). No significant association was observed between rs1927914 and gastric cancer risk in this study population. Conclusion: The T to C allele substitution of rs10759932 may play a protective role in gastric carcinogenesis in a Chinese population. | 7 | RNA-seq analysis identified hormone-related genes associated with prognosis of triple negative breast cancer显示文摘Triple negative breast cancer(TNBC) is an aggressive subtype of breast cancer that currently lacks effective biomarkers and therapeutic targets required to investigate the diagnosis and treatment of TNBC. Here we performed a comprehensive differential analysis of 165 TNBC samples by integrating RNA-seq data of breast tumor tissues and adjacent normal tissues from both our cohort and The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA). Pathway enrichment analysis was conducted to evaluate the biological function of TNBC-specific expressed genes. Further multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression was performed to evaluate the effect of these genes on TNBC prognosis. In this report, we identified a total of 148 TNBC-specific expressed genes that were primarily enriched in mammary gland morphogenesis and hormone levels related pathways, suggesting that mammary gland morphogenesis might play a unique role in TNBC patients differing from other breast cancer types. Further survival analysis revealed that nine genes(FSIP1, ADCY5, FSD1, HMSD, CMTM5, AFF3, CYP2 A7, ATP1 A2,and C11 orf86) were significantly associated with the prognosis of TNBC patients, while three of them(ADCY5,CYP2 A7, and ATP1 A2) were involved in the hormone-related pathways. | 8 | Prognostic value of systemic immune- inflammation index in acute/subacute patients with cerebral venous sinus thrombosis显示文摘Objective To evaluate the prognosis values of systemic immune-inflammation index(SII)in non-chronic cerebral venous sinus thrombosis(CVST).Methods patients with CVST,admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University,were retrospectively identified from January 2013 to December 2018.We selected patients in acute/subacute phase from database.Functional outcomes of patients were evaluated with the modified Rankin Scale(mRS)-mRS 3-6 as poor outcomes and mRS 6 as death.The overall survival time was defined as the date of onset to the date of death or last follow-up date.Survival analysis was described by the Kaplan-Meier curve and Cox regression analysis.Multivariate logistic regression analysis assessed the relationship between SII and poor functional outcome.The area under the Receiver Operating Curve curve(AUC)was estimated to evaluate the ability of SII in prediction.Results A total of 270 patients were included and their duration of follow-up was 22 months(6-66 months),of whom 31 patients had poor outcomes and 24 patients dead.Cox regression analysis showed that SII(HR=1.304,95%CI:1.101 to 1.703,p=0.001)was a predictor of death in non-chronic CVST.Patients with higher SII presented lower survival rates(p=0.003).The AUC of SII was 0.792(95%CI:0.695 to 0.888,p=0.040)with a sensitivity of 69.6%and specificity of 80.1%.Subgroups analysis demonstrated that SII was an important predictor of poor outcomes in male(OR=1.303,95%CI:1.102 to 1.501,p=0.011)and pregnancy/puerperium female(OR=1.407,95%CI:1.204 to 1.703,p=0.034).Conclusions SII was a potential predictor in the poor prognosis of patients with acute/subacute CVST,especially in male and pregnancy/puerperium female. | Shen Li Kai Liu Yuan Gao Lu Zhao Rui Zhang Hui Fang Yongli Tao Hongbing Liu Jiawei Zhao Zongping Xia Yuming Xu Bo Song | 2020 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,4: | 3 |
