2Simulation of Morphological Development of Soil Cracks in Yuanmou Dry-hot Valley Region, Southwest China显示文摘Soil cracking is an important process influencing water and solutes transport in the Yuanmou Dry-hot Valley region of Southwest China. Studying the morphological development of soil cracks helps to further reveal the close relationship between the soil cracking process and water movement in such semi-arid regions. Here we report regular changes on surface morphology of soil cracks with decreasing water in four different soils (Typ-Ustic Ferrisols,Ver-Ustic Ferrisols,Tru-Ustic Vertisols and Typ-Ustic Vertisols) through simulation experiments. Our results indicate the following: 1) Different soils ultimately have different development degrees of soil cracks,according to their various values of crack area density. Soil cracks in Typ-Ustic Ferrisols can only develop to the feeble degree,while those in the other three soils are capable of developing into the intensive degree,and even into the extremely intensive degree. 2) Soil crack complexity,as expressed by the value of the area-weighted mean of crack fractal dimension (AWMFRAC),is found to continuously decrease as a whole through the whole cracking process in all the studied soils. 3) Soil crack connectivity shows a uniform trend in the studied soils,that is to say,connectivity gradually increases with soil crack development.XIONG Donghong YAN Dongchun LONG Yi LU Xiaoning HAN Jianning HAN Xueqin SHI Liangtao 2010Chinese Geographical Science2010,20,2:8

4The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. 5PagGRF12a interacts with PagGIF1b to regulate secondary xylem development through modulating PagXND1a expression in Populus alba×P.glandulosa显示文摘Growth-regulating factors(GRFs)are important regulators of plant development and growth,but their possible roles in xylem development in woody plants remain unclear.Here,we report that Populus alba×Papulus glandulosa PagGRF12a negatively regulates xylem development in poplar.PagGRF12a is expressed in vascular tissues.Compared to non-transgenic control plants,transgenic poplar plants overexpressing PagGRF12a exhibited reduced xylem width and plants with repressed expression of PagGRF12a exhibited increased xylem width.Xylem NAC domain 1(XND1)encodes a NAC domain transcription factor that regulates xylem development and transcriptional analyses revealed that PagXND1a is highly upregulated in PagGRF12a-overexpressing plants and downregulated in PagGRF12a-suppressed plants,indicating that PagGRF12a may regulate xylem development through PagXND1a.Transient transcriptional assays and chromatin immunoprecipitation-polymerase chain reaction assays confirmed that PagGRF12a directly upregulates PagXND1a.In addition,PagGRF12a interacts with the GRF-Interacting Factor(GIF)PagGIF1b,and this interaction enhances the effects of PagGRF12a on PagXND1a.Our results indicate that PagGRF12a inhibits xylem development by upregulating the expression of PagXND1a.Jinnan Wang Houjun Zhou Yanqiu Zhao Cheng Jiang Jihong Li Fang Tang Yingli Liu Shutang Zhao Jianjun Hu Xueqin Song MengZhu Lu 2021Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,10:3
6Fabrication of Fe Nanoparticles into N-doped Mesoporous Carbon Nanotube Derived from Rice-Like Fe/N-MOF and Its ORR Catalytic Performance for MFC显示文摘The development of non-noble metal oxidation reduction catalysts(ORR)to improve microbial fuel cell(MFC)performance remains extremely challenging.Herein,the nitrogen-doped iron-based porous carbon nanotube Fe/N@MC-T ORR catalysts were derived from Fe/N-MOF by pyrolyzation using acetonitrile as the nitrogen precursor in a low-cost organic solvent.The Fe/N@MC-T catalysts under different pyrolysis temperatures were characterized by SEM,TEM,BET,XRD,and XPS techniques.Fe/N-MOF showed a smooth rice-like structure with a particle size of about 400×50 nm^(2).The Fe species in Fe/N@MC-T mainly exists in the form of zero-valent iron with a small amount of Fe3C.The results of electrochemical tests revealed that the onset and half-wave potentials of Fe/N@MC-700 were 0.89 V and 0.80 V,respectively,which were only slightly lower than those of the commercial Pt/C(0.92 V and 0.82 V).The MFC with Fe/N@MC-700 showed a highest power density of 864.1 mW/m^(2),which was about 2.25 times that of MFC with carbon cloth,and was slightly lower than that of MFC with Pt/C(20%)(1002.0 mW/m^(2)),which demonstrated that the Fe particles wrapped in carbon nanotubes possessed a relatively high ORR activity.Lu Decheng Wang Wenyi Chang Jiacheng Wang Xueqin Wang Yuanyuan Song Hua 2021China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2021,23,2:2

9Simultaneous quantification of 18 bioactive constituents in Ziziphus jujuba fruits by HPLC coupled with a chemometric method显示文摘The fruit of Ziziphus jujuba Mill., known as Hongzao(or Hong-Zao) in Chinese and cultivated in China for more than 4 000 years, has shown to have hepatoprotective property. In previous study, we have isolated and identified 27 known compounds from Z. jujuba fruits, which demonstrated anti-tumor activity. In this study, a high-performance liquid chromatography-diode-array detection-mass spectrometry(HPLC-DAD-MS) method was successfully applied to the simultaneous characterization and quantitation of 18 constituents in 28 Z. jujuba samples, comprised of 12 cultivars from different regions in China, by comparing their HPLC retention times, MS spectra, UV spectra, and NMR data with those of reference compounds. The quantitative method was validated with excellent linearity(R^(2 )> 0.999 1), preferable intra-and inter-day precisions(RSD < 2.78%), and good recoveries(94.96%–102.65%). The content variation of 18 compounds was analyzed by a chemometric method(hierarchical cluster analysis). In addition, these constituents showed protection against carbon tetrachloride(CCl_(4)) intoxicated Hep G2 cell lines by decreasing lactic dehydrogenase(LDH) levels. Results in this study illustrated that the content of all 18 compounds examined has significant difference and variation among cultivars and extracts. 12One-pot pyrolysis synthesis of highly active Ru/RuOx nanoclusters for water splitting显示文摘Using simple methods to obtain efficient catalysts has been a long-standing goal for researchers.In this work,the employment of a one-pot pyrolysis reaction to achieve molecular confinement,has led to the preparation of ruthenium(Ru)-based nanoclusters in a carbon matrix.A unique feature of the synthetic approach employed is that solvent and substrates were calcined together.As solvent evaporates,during calcination,the substrates form a dense solid which has the effect of limiting the aggregation of Ru centers during the carbonization process.The catalyst prepared in this simple manner showed an impressively high activity with respect to the hydrogen/oxygen evolution reaction(HER/OER).The Ru nanoclusters(Ru NCs),as the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)catalysts,require ultralow overpotentials of 5 mV and 5.1 mV at-10 mA·cm^(-2) in 1.0 M KOH,and 0.5 M H_(2)SO_(4),respectively.Furthermore,the catalyst prepared by the one-pot method has higher crystallinity,a higher Ru content and an ultrafine cluster size,which contributes to its exceptional electrochemical performance.Meanwhile,the RuO_(x) nanoclusters(RuO_(x) NCs),obtained by oxidizing the aforementioned Ru NCs,exhibited good oxygen evolution reaction(OER)performance with an overpotential of 266 mV at 10 mA·cm^(-2).When applied to overall water splitting,Ru/RuO_(x) nanoclusters as the cathode and anode catalysts can reach 10 mA·cm^(-2) at cell voltages of only 1.49 V in 1 M KOH.Fengyuan Zhu Jiangyan Xue Lingjian Zeng Jingrui Shang Shuanglong Lu Xueqin Cao Brendan F.Abrahams Hongwei Gu Jianping Lang 2022Nano Research2022,15,2:1
