1In situ optical backpropagation training of diffractive optical neural networks显示文摘Training an artificial neural network with backpropagation algorithms to perform advanced machine learning tasks requires an extensive computational process.This paper proposes to implement the backpropagation algorithm optically for in situ training of both linear and nonlinear diffractive optical neural networlks,which enables the acceleration of training speed and improvement in energy efficiency on core computing modules.We demonstrate that the gradient of a loss function with respect to the weights of diffractive layers can be accurately calculated by measuring the forward and backward propagated optical fields based on light reciprocity and phase conjunction principles.The diffractive modulation weights are updated by programming a high-speed spatial light modulator to minimize the error between prediction and target output and perform inference tasks at the speed of light.We numerically validate the effectiveness of our approach on simulated networks for various applications.The proposed in situ optical learning architecture achieves accuracy comparable to in silico training with an electronic computer on the tasks of object dlassification and matrix-vector multiplication,which further allows the diffractive optical neural network to adapt to system imperfections.Also,the self-adaptive property of our approach facilitates the novel application of the network for all-optical imaging through scattering media.The proposed approach paves the way for robust implementation of large-scale difractive neural networks to perform distinctive tasks all-optically.TIANKUANG ZHOU LU FANG TAO YAN JIAMIN WU YIPENG LI JINGTAO FAN HUAQIANG WU XING LIN QIONGHAI DA 2020Photonics Research2020,8,6:11
2Meaningful comparison of photocatalytic properties of {001} and {101} faceted anatase TiO2 nanocrystals显示文摘The facet-dependent photocatalytic performance of TiO_2 nanocrystals has been extensively investigated due to their promising applications in renewable energy and environmental fields. However, the intrinsic distinction in the photocatalytic oxidation activities between the {001}and {101} facets of anatase TiO_2 nanocrystals is still unclear and under debate. In this work, a simple photoelectrochemical method was employed to meaningfully quantify the intrinsic photocatalytic activities of {001} and{101} faceted TiO_2 nanocrystal photoanodes. The effective surface areas of photoanodes with different facets were measured based on the monolayer adsorption of phthalic acid on TiO_2 photoanode surface by an ex situ photoelectrochemical method, which were used to normalize the photocurrents obtained from different faceted photoanodes for meaningful comparison of their photocatalytic activities. The results demonstrated that the {001} facets of anatase TiO_2 nanocrystals exhibited much better photocatalytic activity than that of {101} facets of anatase TiO_2 nanocrystals toward photocatalytic oxidation of water and organic compounds with different functional groups(e.g.,–OH, –CHO, –COOH). Furthermore, the instantaneous kinetic constants of photocatalytic oxidation of pre-adsorbates on {001} faceted anatase TiO_2 photoanode are obviously greater than those obtained at {101} faceted anatase TiO_2 photoanode, further verifying the higher photocatalytic activity of {001} facets of anatase TiO_2.This work provided a facile photoelectrochemical method to quantitatively determine the photocatalytic oxidation activity of specific exposed crystal facets of a photocatalyst, which would be helpful to uncover and meaningfully compare the intrinsic photocatalytic activities of different exposed crystal facets of a photocatalyst.Yang Lu Yipeng Zang Haimin Zhang Yunxia Zhang Guozhong Wang Huijun Zhao 2016Science Bulletin2016,61,13:8

4Monolithic ultrasound fingerprint sensor显示文摘This paper presents a 591×438-DPI ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.The sensor is based on a piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducer(PMUT)array that is bonded at wafer-level to complementary metal oxide semiconductor(CMOS)signal processing electronics to produce a pulse-echo ultrasonic imager on a chip.To meet the 500-DPI standard for consumer fingerprint sensors,the PMUT pitch was reduced by approximately a factor of two relative to an earlier design.We conducted a systematic design study of the individual PMUT and array to achieve this scaling while maintaining a high fill-factor.The resulting 110×56-PMUT array,composed of 30×43-μm^(2) rectangular PMUTs,achieved a 51.7% fill-factor,three times greater than that of the previous design.Together with the custom CMOS ASIC,the sensor achieves 2 mV kPa^(−1) sensitivity,15 kPa pressure output,75μm lateral resolution,and 150μm axial resolution in a 4.6 mm×3.2 mm image.To the best of our knowledge,we have demonstrated the first MEMS ultrasonic fingerprint sensor capable of imaging epidermis and sub-surface layer fingerprints.Xiaoyue Jiang Yipeng Lu Hao-Yen Tang Julius M.Tsai Eldwin J.Ng Michael J.Daneman Bernhard E.Boser David A.Horsley 2017Microsystems & Nanoengineering2017,3,1:2

6In-situ TEM observation of the evolution of helium bubbles & dislocation loops and their interaction in Pd during He^(+) irradiation显示文摘The microstructural evolution of purity Pd under 30 keV He^(+)irradiation at 573 K was investigated by in-situ transmission electron microscopy.The nucleation,growth,merging,annihilation,size change,number density variation,and types of dislocation loops were analyzed under the influence of irradiation fluence and sample thickness.Both perfect dislocation loops with b=1/2<110>and faulted dislocation loops with b=1/3<111>were formed.However,at low irradiation fluence,most of the loops were 1/3<111>loops.The thickness of TEM foil obviously affected the ratio of 1/3<111>loop variants,the size and number density of dislocation loops,and the characteristics of bubble-loop complexes.With the increase of irradiation fluence,the size of dislocation loops increased,but loop volume number density remained almost constant until dislocation loops merged and evolved into dislocation network.There was an obvious interaction between dislocation loops and bubbles,indicating that 1/3<111>loop was first formed at the initial stage of irradiation,and when the loop grew to a certain size,obvious helium bubbles appeared inside its region.Qing Han Yipeng Li Guang Ran Xinyi Liu Lu Wu Yang Chen Piheng Chen Xiaoqiu Ye Yifan Ding Xiaoyong Wu 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,28:1
7Orbital-regulated interfacial electronic coupling endows Ni3N with superior catalytic surface for hydrogen evolution reaction显示文摘The interstitial structure and weak Ni-N interaction of Ni3N lead to high unoccupied d orbital energy and unsuitable orbital orientation,which consequently results in weak orbital coupling with H2O and slow water dissociation kinetics for alkaline hydrogen evolution catalysis.Herein,we successfully lower the unoccupied d orbital energy of Ni3N to strengthen the interfacial electronic coupling by employing the strong electron pulling capability of oxygen dopants.The prepared O-Ni3N catalyst delivers an overpotential of 55 mV at 10 mA cm−2,very close to the commercial Pt/C.Refined structural characterization indicates the oxygen incorporation can decrease the electron densities around the Ni sites.Moreover,density functional theory calculation further proves the oxygen incorporation can create more unoccupied orbitals with lower energy and superior orientation for water adsorption and dissociation.The concept of orbital-regulated interfacial electronic coupling could offer a unique approach for the rational design of hydrogen evolution catalysts and beyond.Yanyan Fang Da Sun Shuwen Niu Jinyan Cai Yipeng Zang Yishang Wu Linqin Zhu Yufang Xie Yun Liu Zixuan Zhu Amirabbas Mosallanezhad Di Niu Zheng Lu Junjie Shi Xiaojing Liu Dewei Rao Gongming Wang Yitai Qian 2020Science China Chemistry2020,63,11:1

13Numerical simulation of cavitating flow around a slender body with slip boundary condition显示文摘In this paper, we perform a numerical simulation of the cavitating flow around an underwater hemispherical-head slender body running at a high speed. For the first time, the slip boundary condition is introduced into this problem, and we find that the slip boundary condition has a big influence on the cavitation in the flow-separation zone. By simulating the cavitating flow under different cavitation numbers, we demonstrate that the slip boundary condition can effectively reduce the intensity of cavitation, as represented by the length of cavitation bubbles. 14Simulating androgen receptor selection in designer yeast显示文摘Androgen receptor(AR)mutation is closely associated with prostate cancer(PCa)and is one of the mechanisms of resistance to PCa therapies such as AR antagonists.Although sequencing technologies like next-generation sequencing(NGS)contributes to the high-throughput and precise detection of AR mutations carried by PCa patients,the lack of interpretations of these clinical genetic variants has still been a roadblock for PCa-targeted precision medicine.Here,we established a designer yeast reporter assay to simulate natural androgen receptor(AR)selection using AR antagonists.Yeast HIS3 gene transactivation was associated with the ligand-induced recruitment of steroid receptor coactivator-1(SRC-1)by AR mutants,where yeast growth in histidine-free medium was determined as the outcome.This assay is applicable to determine a wide range of clinical AR mutants including those with loss of function relating to androgen insensitivity syndrome(AIS),and those associated with PCa conferring resistance to AR antagonists such as enzalutamide(ENZ),bicalutamide(BIC),and cyproterone acetate(CPA).One clinical AR mutant previously reported to confer ENZ-resistance,F877L,was found to confer partial resistance to CPA as well using designer yeast.Our simple and efficient assay can enable precise one-pot screening of AR mutants,providing a reference for tailored medicine.Haoran Zhang Lu Zhang Yipeng Xu Shaoyong Chen Zhenyi Ma Mingdong Yao Fangyin Li Bo Li Yingjin Yuan 2022Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2022,7,4:0
15In-situ TEM study on the evolution of dislocation loops and bubbles in CeO_(2)during Kr^(+)single-beam and Kr^(+)-H_(2)^(+)dual-beam synergetic irradiation显示文摘CeO_(2)is widely used as the nonradioactive surrogate fuel of UO_(2)when studying the irradiation performance of UO_(2).The evolution and characteristics of dislocation loops and bubbles in CeO_(2)foils were studied by in-situ transmission electron microscopy(TEM)observation during 400 ke V Kr^(+)&30 ke V H_(2)^(+)dual-beam synergetic irradiation and 400 ke V Kr^(+)single-beam irradiation at 1073 K.The rotation of the habit plane of dislocation loops induced by above ion irradiation was found in the CeO_(2)for the first time,such as from[211]to[311]and then to[100].The rafted loops were first observed under Kr^(+)&H_(2)^(+)dual-beam synergetic irradiation,which not only had similar[111]direction,but also belonged to perfect dislocation loops(PDLs).The rafted loops were formed not only by the growth of loops that absorbed irradiation defects,but also by the combination of loops.But,this phenomenon of loop rafting was not obvious during Kr single-beam irradiation.It was first found that Kr^(+)irradiation induced the change of Burgers vectors of PDLs.The absorption of large PDLs to small PDLs was also observed.The average size and areal number density of dislocation loops and gas bubbles as a function of irradiation dose were constructed,which showed that the addition of H_(2)^(+)obviously affected the characteristics of dislocation loops and gas bubbles and the swelling of CeO_(2).Ziqi Cao Guang Ran Zhen Wang Yipeng Li Xiaoyong Wu Lu Wu Xiuyin Huang Huajun Mo 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,28:0
16Sum-rate maximization for UAV-enabled two-way relay systems显示文摘In this paper,an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)-enabled two-way relay system with Physical-layer Network Coding(PNC)protocol is considered.A rotary-wing UAV is applied as a mobile relay to assist two ground terminals for information interaction.Our goal is to maximize the sum-rate of the two-way relay system subject to mobility constraints,propulsion power consumption constraints,and transmit power constraints.The formulated problem is not easy to solve directly because it is a mixed integer non-convex optimization problem.Therefore,we decompose it into three sub-problems,and use the mutation arithmetic of the Genetic Algorithm(GA)and Successive Convex Approximation(SCA)to dispose.Besides,a high-efficiency iterative algorithm is proposed to obtain a locally optimal solution by jointly optimizing the time slot pairing,the transmit power allocation,and the UAV trajectory design.Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed design achieves significant gains over the benchmark designs.Keju Lu Fahui Wu Lin Xiao Yipeng Liang Dingcheng Yang 2022Digital Communications and Networks2022,8,6:0
17Late Quaternary Slip Behavior of the Jinqianghe Fault in the Middle Qilian-Haiyuan Fault Zone,Northeastern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The Qilian-Haiyuan fault zone in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau has been the source of strong earthquakes in the region.In its middle segment,the Jinqianghe fault is an important active fault within the Tianzhu seismic gap;however,little is known about its slip behavior.To present a new horizontal displacement distribution along this fault,we used WorldView-2 stereo pairs and unmanned aerial vehicle-based photogrammetry to construct digital elevation models to obtain a detailed tectono-geomorphic interpretation and geomorphic offsets.The offset marker measurements yielded 135 geomorphic displacements and 8 offset clusters.Radiocarbon dating was used to establish the regional age sequence of the geomorphic units in offset fluvial terraces at four study sites.The displacements and ages linked the offset clusters with the geomorphic unit sequence;the Holocene strike-slip rate of the Jinqianghe fault was estimated to 4.8-5.6 mm/a at~4-12 ka and 2.9-4.7 mm/a from~4 ka.Three recent earthquakes(with a recurrence interval of~1000 years)represent an active seismic period,revealing the potential seismic hazard along this fault because it has not ruptured in the last 1500 years.LIANG Shumin ZHENG Wenjun CHEN Gan ZHANG Peizhen ZHANG Dongli BI Haiyun YANG Xue ZHANG Yipeng DUAN Lei LU Bentian 2022Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2022,96,3:0
18Research and Application of Example-Driven Surface Deformation Method显示文摘Despite the large work made in interactive mesh deformation, manipulating a geometrically complex mesh and producing realistic deformation result is still a challenging work. Example-driven deformation methods distinctly simplify the modeling process and produce realistic deformation result by incorporating knowledge learned from shape space. We introduce a rotation invariant feature representation and a reconstruction framework to accurately reconstruct the vertex positions.Our feature representation allows both interpolation as well as extrapolation and can effectively blend multiple shapes. Based on this, we achieve an example-driven approach to mesh deformations. By using a collection of models as examples, our method produces natural deformation results guided by them even with large movement of handles. We will apply our representation and reconstruction method to semantic deformation transfer. 19Structural,^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar Geochronological and Rheological Feature Analysis of the Guoxuepu Shear Zone:Indications for the Jitang Metamorphic Complex in the Northern Lancangjiang Zone显示文摘The Jitang metamorphic complex is key to studying the tectonic evolution of the Northern Lancangjiang zone.Through structural-lithological mapping,structural analysis and laboratory testing,the composition of the Jitang metamorphic complex was determined.The macro-and microstructural analyses of the ductile detachment shear zone(Guoxuepu ductile shear zone,2–4 km wide)between the metamorphic complex and the overlying sedimentary cap show that the shear sense of the ductile shear zones is top-to-the-southeast.The presence of various deformation features and quartz C-axis electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)fabric analysis suggests multiple deformation events occurring at different temperatures.The average stress is 25.68 MPa,with the strain rates(έ)ranging from 9.77×10^(−14)s^(−1)to 6.52×10^(−16)s^(−1).The finite strain of the Guoxuepu ductile shear zone indicates an elongated strain pattern.The average kinematic vorticity of the Guoxuepu ductile shear zone is 0.88,implying that the shear zone is dominated by simple shear.The muscovite selected from the protomylonite samples in the Guoxuepu ductile shear zone yields a 40Ar-39Ar age of 60.09±0.38 Ma.It is suggested that,coeval with the initial Indo–Eurasian collision,the development of strike-slip faults led to a weak and unstable crust,upwelling of lower crust magma,then induced the detachment of the Jitang metamorphic complex in the Eocene.FENG Yipeng WANG Genhou WANG Shulai LI Dian WANG Huan LU Yang LIU Han ZHANG Peilie 2024Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2024,98,1:0
