Antifatigue,Antioxidant and Immunoregulatory Effects of Peptides Hydrolyzed from Manchurian Walnut(Juglans mandshurica Maxim.) on Mice显示文摘The Manchurian walnut(Juglans mandshurica Maxim.) is rich in proteins, whereas this resource has not been used efficiently. The antifatigue, antioxidative and immunoregulatory effects of Manchurian walnut hydrolysate peptides(MWHPs)were evaluated in this study. MWHPs with a degree of hydrolysis of 32.23% were ultrafiltered and divided into three fractions, namely, high(> 10 k Da), medium(3–10 kDa), and low molecular weight(< 3 kDa), and then fed to mice continuously at doses of 200, 400 or 800 mg/(kg·d). The antifatigue, antioxidative, and immunoregulatory effects of the peptides were tested on the second and fourth weeks of MWHP administration. Results showed that low-molecular-weight MWHPs exerted significant antifatigue(prolonging swimming time, elevating liver glycogen contents, and reducing lactic acid contents), antioxidative(enhancing superoxide dismutase(SOD), GSH-Px, and catalase(CAT) activities and reducing malondialdehyde(MDA) content), and immunoregulatory(raising the immune-organ index and promoting T-lymphocyte proliferation and s Ig A secretion in the intestinal tract) effects. This research indicates that MWHPs have potential applications in health care and may be developed as a base for new functional foods. | FANG Li REN Dayong CUI Lingyu LIU Chunlei WANG Ji LIU Wei MIN Weihong LIU Jingsheng | 2018 | Grain & Oil Science and Technology2018,1,1: | 6
Seasonal phenotypic flexibility in body mass, basal thermogenesis, and tissue oxidative capacity in the male Silky Starling(Sturnus sericeus)显示文摘Background: Acclimatization to winter conditions is an essential prerequisite for the survival of small birds in the northern temperate zone.Changes in photoperiod, ambient temperature and food availability trigger seasonal physiological and behavioral acclimatization in many passerines.Seasonal trends in metabolic parameters are well known in avian populations from temperate environments;however, the physiological and biochemical mechanisms underlying these trends are incompletely understood. In this study,we used an integrative approach to measure variation in the thermogenic properties of the male Silky Starling(Sturnus sericeus) at different levels or organization, from the whole organism to the biochemical. We measured body mass(Mb),basal metabolic rate(BMR),energy budget, the mass of selected internal organs, state 4 respiration and cytochrome c oxidase(COX) activity in the heart, liver and muscle. Methods: Oxygen consumption was measured using an open-circuit respirometry system. The energy intake of the birds were then determined using an oxygen bomb calorimeter.Mitochondrial state 4 respiration and COX activity in heart, liver and pectoral muscle were measured with a Clark electrode. Results: The results suggest that acclimatization to winter conditions caused significant change in each of the measured variables, specifically, increases in Mb,organ mass,BMR,energy intake and cellular enzyme activity.Furthermore,BMR was positively correlated with body mass, energy intake, the mass of selected internal organs, state 4 respiration in the heart, liver and muscle, and COX activity in the heart and muscle. Conclusions: These results suggest that the male Silky Starling's enhanced basal thermogenesis under winter conditions is achieved by making a suite of adjustments from the whole organism to the biochemical level, and provide further evidence to support the notion that small birds have high phenotypic plasticity with respect to seasonal changes. | Min Li Yingqiao Sun Hongzhen Mao Jinhua Xu Weihong Zheng Jinsong Liu | 2017 | Avian Research2017,8,4: | 6
Blockage of the habenular nucleus can eliminate dyspnea induced by electrostimulation of the insular cortex显示文摘BACKGROUND:The insular cortex and habenular nucleus may be a regulatory center for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, and dyspnea may be caused by insular cortex activity. The insular cortex is a cortical representation of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. The habenular nucleus is a station for descending insular cortex activity.OBJECTIVE:Through actively stimulating the rat insular cortex,to observe rat respiratory movement, myoelectric activities of genioglossus, arterial partial pressure of oxygen, partial pressure of carbon dioxide and acidity-alkalinity,and to verify a hypothesis that the insular cortex is a superior-position regulation center, and the habenular nucleus is an inferior-position nervous nuclei of the insular cortex in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:The randomized, controlled animal study was performed at the Laboratory of Electrophysiology,Department of Physiology,Norman Bathune College of Medicine,Jilin University,China from September 2004 to June 2008.MATERIALS:We used L-glutamic acid(Dingguo Biological Product Research Center,Beijing,China),lidocaine hydrochloride(Seventh Pharmacy Co.,Ltd.,Wuxi,China),electric stimulator(Nihon Kohden,Japan),and an AVL-OPTI blood gas analyzer(AVL Scientific Co.,Roswell,GA,USA).METHODS:The insular cortex of healthy adult Wistar rats underwent electrostimulation and L-glutamic acid stimulation to record changes in the myoelectric activity of genioglossus and respiratory movement. Some rats were injected with lidocaine to block the habenular nucleus before electrostimulation or L-glutamic acid stimulation.L-glutamic acid and lidocaine were injected by microelectrodes embedded in nuclear groups.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Myoelectric activities of genioglossus, arterial partial pressure of oxygen, partial pressure of carbon dioxide and acidity-alkalinity were measured following apnea in rats undergoing electrostimulation in the insular cortex and following blockade of the habenular nucleus.RESULTS:Following electrostimulation and L-glutamic acid stimulation, rats developed apnea or respiratory rhythm disorders.Simultaneously, the amplitude of myoelectric activity of the genioglossus was reduced(P < 0.01),and the electromyogram integral was decreased(P < 0.01).Arterial blood gas analysis showed arterial blood acidosis,a decrease in pH(P < 0.05),and an increase in the negative value of alkaline reserve(P < 0.01).Lidocaine in the habenular nuclear blocked respiratory and other index changes after insular cortex stimulation.CONCLUSION:Dyspnea induced by stimulating the insular cortex may require the habenular nucleus.Paralysis of the habenular nucleus can completely eliminate insular cortex stimulation-induced dyspnea. | Mingxian Li Jinghua Wang Min Huang Weihong Lin Min Wang Lei Yu Shao Wang | 2010 | Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,13: | 3

Fouling behavior of poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)ultrafiltration membrane by polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)and chemical cleaning method显示文摘Severe fouling to poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)membrane is usually caused as filtrating the papermaking wastewater in the ultrafiltration(UF)process. In the paper, fouling behavior and mechanism were investigated, and the low-concentration polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)contained in the sedimentation tank wastewater was found as the main foulant.Consequently, the corresponding cleaning approach was proposed. The experiment and modeling results elaborated that the fouling mode developed from pore blockage to cake layer along with filtration time.Chemical cleaning conditions including the composition and concentration of reagents, cleaning duration and trans-membrane pressure were investigated for their effect on cleaning efficiency.Pure water flux was recovered by over 95% after cleaning the PVDF membrane using the optimal conditions 0.5 wt% NaClO(as oxidant)and 0.1 wt% sodiumdodecyl benzene sulfonate(SDBS,as surfactant)at 0.04MPa for 100 min.In the chemical cleaning method, hypochlorite(ClO−)could first chain-scissor PVA macromolecules to small molecules and SDBS could wrap the fragments in micelles,so that the foulants were removed from the pores and surface of membrane. After eight cycling tests, pure water flux recovery maintained above 95% and the reused membrane was found intact without defects. | Weijie Ding Min Chen Ming Zhou Zhaoxiang Zhong Zhaoliang Cui Weihong Xing | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,12: | 2
Chip Formation Mechanism of Inconel 718: A Review of Models and Approaches显示文摘Inconel 718,a nickel, chrome and iron alloy, has special advantages, such as high-temperature strength, thermal resistance and corrosion resistance, which facilitate wide usage in the aerospace industry, especially in the hot sections of gas turbine engines. However, machining this alloy is correlated closely with the material’s inherent properties such as excellent combination of strength, hardness and toughness, low thermal conductivity and the tendency to adhere to cutting tools. This nickel alloy also contains inclusions of hard abrasive carbide particles that lead to work-hardening of the workpiece material and thus abrasive wear of the cutting tool. That is,the machining of Inconel 718 is always influenced by high mechanical and thermal loads. This article reviews the chip formation mechanism of Inconel 718.One of the main characteristics in machining of Inconel 718 is that it will produce serrated or segmented chips in a wide range of cutting speeds and feeds.Existing studies show that the chip serration or segmentation by shear localization affects the machined surface integrity, and also contributes to the chip’s evacuation and the automation of machining operations. Thus, research conclusion indicates that the serrated or segmented chip phenomenon is desirable in reducing the level of cutting force, and detailed analysis of models and approaches to understand the chip formation mechanism of Inconel 718 is vital for machining this alloy effectively and efficiently. Therefore, this article presents some summaries on the models and approaches on the chip formation in machining of Inconel 718. | Chun Liu Min Wan Weihong Zhang Yun Yang | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2021,34,2: | 2
MKP-1 reduces Aβ generation and alleviates cognitive impairments in Alzheimer’s disease models显示文摘Mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)phosphatase 1(MKP-1)is an essential negative regulator of MAPKs by dephosphorylating MAPKs at both tyrosine and threonine residues.Dysregulation of the MAPK signaling pathway has been associated with Alzheimer’s disease(AD).However, the role of MKP-1 in AD pathogenesis remains elusive. Here,we report that MKP-1 levels were decreased in the brain tissues of patients with AD and an AD mouse model. The reduction in MKP-1 gene expression appeared to be a result of transcriptional inhibition via transcription factor specificity protein 1(Sp1)cis-acting binding elements in the MKP-1 gene promoter.Amyloid-β(Aβ)-induced Sp1 activation decreased MKP-1 expression. However, upregulation of MKP-1 inhibited the expression of both Aβprecursor protein(APP)andβ-site APP-cleaving enzyme 1 by inactivating the extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2(ERK)/MAPK signaling pathway.Furthermore, upregulation of MKP-1 reduced Aβproduction and plaque formation and improved hippocampal long-term potentiation(LTP)and cognitive deficits in APP/PS1 transgenic mice. Our results demonstrate that MKP-1 impairment facilitates the pathogenesis of AD,whereas upregulation of MKP-1 plays a neuroprotective role to reduce Alzheimer-related phenotypes. Thus, this study suggests that MKP-1 is a novel molecule for AD treatment. | Yehong Du Yexiang Du Yun Zhang Zhilin Huang Min Fu Junjie Li Yayan Pang Peng Lei Yu Tian Wang Weihong Song Guiqiong He Zhifang Dong | 2019 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2019,4,1: | 2
Influence of Coal Nature and Structure on Ash Size Formation Characteristic and Related Pollutant Emissions During CFB Combustion显示文摘The size distribution of coal particles in a Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) boiler plays a crucial role in the complicated combustion, heat exchange and pollutant emissions in such a plat. Therefore, it is fundamental to study the different factors having influence on the size distribution of coal particles. Above all, the coal itself and in particular, the coal combination phenomenon is a very influent factor. In the frame of this work, the coal nature (elementary composition) and coal internal structure (mineral components) are studied in detail. At this intermediary stage, experiments on three typical Chinese coals on a l.5 MWt CFBC pilot plant have been made. Some primary fragmentation tests have also been made in a small lab scale fluidized bed reactor. The results from the hot pilot test show i) the variation of coal ash distributions and other CFB performance data due to the cyclone and the coal characteristics and ii) the variation of desulfurization efficiency with limestone. Whereas the bench scale primary fragmentation test, likely linked to the caking propriety of a coal, does not seem to change considerably the char size distribution. | Min QIAN Arnaud BOELLE Philippe JAUD ( Electricite de France Division R&D, 6 quai Watier B.P.49 78401 Chatou, France ) Yongjie NA Qinggang LU Shaolin BAO ding CUI Weihong JIAO Huanming ZHAO (Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academ | 2000 | Journal of Thermal Science2000,9,3: | 2

| TIAN Shimin WANG Weihong XIE Baofeng ZHANG Min | 2016 | Journal of Geographical Sciences2016,26,9: | 1

Effects of antigliomatin from the scorpion venom of Buthus martensii Karsch on chloride channels on C6 glioma cells显示文摘Using whole-cell patch-clamp recordings, the effects of antigliomatin were observed on chloride channels on C6 glioma cells cultured in vitro. Antigliomatin was extracted from the venom of the scorpion Buthus martensii Karsch. Chloride channels are closed under normal osmotic pressure. When osmotic pressure was reduced to 120, 110 and 100 mV, the cell volume enlarged, chloride channels opened, and the chloride channel current increased. Three minutes after antigliomatin treatment, the chloride channel current decreased in a dose-dependent manner. These results show that antigliomatin extracted from the venom of the scorpion Buthus martensii Karsch diminishes chloride channel currents on C6 glioma cells. | Zan Wang Mingxian Li Hongmei Meng Min Huang Weihong Lin Li Cui Shao Wang | 2011 | Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,18: | 1

Recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of paroxysmal kinesigemc dyskinesia: an expert consensus in China显示文摘Paroxysmal dyskinesias are a group of neurological diseases characterized by intermittent episodes of involuntary movements with different causes.Paroxysmal kinesigenic dyskinesia(PKD)is the most common type of paroxysmal dyskinesia and can be divided into primary and secondary types based on the etiology.Clinically,PKD is characterized by recurrent and transient attacks of involuntary movements precipitated by a sudden voluntary action. The major cause of primary PKD is genetic abnormalities, and the inheritance pattern of PKD is mainly autosomal-dominant with incomplete penetrance. The proline-rich transmembrane protein 2(PRRT2)was the first identified causative gene of PKD,accounting for the majority of PKD cases worldwide. An increasing number of studies has revealed the clinical and genetic characteristics,as well as the underlying mechanisms of PKD.By seeking the views of domestic experts,we propose an expert consensus regarding the diagnosis and treatment of PKD to help establish standardized clinical evaluation and therapies for PKD.In this consensus,we review the clinical manifestations, etiology, clinical diagnostic criteria and therapeutic recommendations for PKD,and results of genetic analyses in PKD patients performed in domestic hospitals. | Li Cao Xiaojun Huang Ning Wang Zhiying Wu Cheng Zhang Weihong Gu Shuyan Cong Jianhua Ma Ling Wei Yanchun Deng Qi Fang Qi Niu Jin Wang Zhaoxia Wang You Yin Jinyong Tian Shufen Tian Hongyan Bi Hong Jiang Xiaorong Liu Yang Lu Meizhen Sun Jianjun Wu Erhe Xu Tao Chen Tao Chen Xu Chen Wei Li Shujian Li Qinghua Li Xiaonan Song Ying Tang Ping Yang Yun Yang Min Zhang Xiong Zhang Yuhu Zhang Ruxu Zhang Yi Ouyang Jintai Yu Quanzhong Hu Qing Ke Yuanrong Yao Zhe Zhao Xiuhe Zhao Guohua Zhao Furu Liang Nan Cheng Jianhong Han Rong Peng Shengdi Chen Beisha Tang | 2021 | Translational Neurodegeneration2021,10,1: | 1
Paclitaxel liposome for injection (Lipusu) plus cisplatin versus gemcitabine plus cisplatin in the first-line treatment of locally advanced or metastatic lung squamous cell carcinoma: A multicenter, randomized, open-label, parallel controlled clinical study显示文摘Background:Lipusu is the first commercialized liposomal formulation of pacli-taxel and has demonstrated promising efficacy against locally advanced lung squamous cell carcinoma(LSCC)in a small-scale study. Here,we conducted a multicenter, randomized, phase 3 study to compare the efficacy and safety of cis-platin plus Lipusu(LP)versus cisplatin plus gemcitabine(GP)as first-line treat-ment in locally advanced or metastatic LSCC.Methods:Patients enrolled were aged between 18 to 75 years, had locally advanced(clinical stage IIIB,ineligible for concurrent chemoradiation or surgery)or metastatic(Stage IV)LSCC,had no previous systemic chemother-apy and at least one measurable lesion as per the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors(version 1.1)before administration of the trial drug. The primary endpoint was progression-free survival(PFS).The secondary endpoints included objective response rate(ORR),disease control rate(DCR),overall survival(OS),and safety profiles. To explore the possible predictive value of plasma cytokines for LP treatment, plasma samples were collected from the LP group at baseline and first efficacy evaluation time and were then subjected to analysis by 45-Plex ProcartaPlex Panel 1 to detect the presence of 45 cytokines using the Luminex xMAP technology. The correlation between treatment outcomes and dynamic changes in the levels of cytokines were evaluated in preliminary analyses. Results:The median duration of follow-up was 15.4 months.237 patients in the LP group and 253 patients in the GP group were included in the per protocol set(PPS).In the PPS,the median PFS was 5.2 months versus 5.5 months in the LP and GP group(hazard rtio[HR]:1.03,P=0.742)respectively.The median OS was 14.6 months versus 12.5 months in the LP and GP group(HR:0.83,P=0.215).The ORR(41.8%versus 45.9%,P=0.412)and DCR(90.3%versus 88.1%,P=0.443)were also similar between the LP and GP group.A significantly lower proportion of patients in the LP group experienced adverse events(AEs)leading to treatment interruptions(10.9%versus 26.4%,P<0.001)or treatment termination(14.3%versus 23.1%,P=0.011).The analysis of cytokine levels in the LP group showed that low baseline levels of 27 cytokines were associated with an increased ORR,and 15 cytokines were associated with improved PFS,with 14 cytokines, including TNF-a,IFN-y,IL-6,and IL-8,demonstrating an overlapping trend. Conclusion:The LP regimen demonstrated similar PFS,OS,ORR and DCR as the GP regimen for patients with locally advanced or metastatic LSCC but had more favorable toxicity profiles. The study also identified a spectrum of different cytokines that could be potentially associated with the clinical benefit in patients who received the LP regimen. | Jie Zhang Yueyin Pan Qin Shi Guojun Zhang Liyan Jiang Xiaorong Dong Kangsheng Gu Huijuan Wang Xiaochun Zhang Nong Yang Yuping Li Jianping Xiong Tienan Yi Min Peng Yong Song Yun Fan Jiuwei Cui Gongyan Chen Wei Tan Aimin Zang Qisen Guo Guangqiang Zhao Ziping Wang Jianxing He Wenxiu Yao Xiaohong Wu Kai Chen Xiaohua Hu Chunhong Hu Lu Yue Da Jiang Guangfa Wang Junfeng Liu Guohua Yu Junling Li Jianling Bai Wenmin Xie Weihong Zhao Lihong Wu Caicun Zhou | 2022 | Cancer Communications2022,42,1: | 1
