| 2 | Constraints of (U-Th)/He ages on early Paleozoic tectonothermal evolution of the Tarim Basin,China显示文摘The thermal evolution of source rocks in the Paleozoic stratigraphic sequences has been an outstanding problem for petroleum exploration in the Tarim Basin, as the thermal history of the Paleozoic could not be reconstructed objectively due to the lack of effective thermal indicators in the early Paleozoic carbonate successions. The (U-Th)/He thermochronometry of apatite and zircon has recently been used as an effective tool to study the structural uplift and thermal history of sedimentary basins. The Paleozoic tectonothermal histories of two typical wells in the Tarim Basin were modeled using the thermal indicators of (U-Th)/He, apatite fission track (AFT), and vitrinite reflectance (Ro) data in this paper. The Paleozoic strata in the two wells were shallow due to persistent uplift and significant erosion during the Hercynian tectonic events (from Devonian to Triassic). Therefore, the paleothermal indicators in the Paleozoic strata may retain the original thermal evolution and can be used to re- construct the Paleozoic thermal history of the Tarim Basin. The apatite and zircon helium ages from core and cuttings samples were analyzed and the Paleozoic thermal histories of wells KQ1 and T1 were modeled by combining helium ages, AFT, and equivalence vitrinite reflectance (VRo) data. The modeling results show that the geothermal gradient evolution is different in the Kongquehe Slop and Bachu Uplift of Tarim Basin during the Paleozoic. The thermal gradient in Well T1 on the Bachu Up- lift was only 28–30°C/km in Cambrian, and it increased to 30–33°C/km in Ordovician and 31–34°C/km during the Silurian and Devonian. The thermal gradient of Ordovician in Well KQ1 on the Kongquehe Slope was 35°C/km and decreased to 32–35°C/km during the Silurian and Devonian. | 4 | Effects of four regulating-intestine prescriptions on pathology and ultrastructure of colon tissue in rats with ulcerative colitis显示文摘AIM: To observe different histomorphologic changes of ulcerative colitis (UC) rats that were treated with four regulating-intestine prescriptions (FRIP), to investigate the curative effects of FRIP and to analyze their treatment mechanism.METHODS: The UC rat model was made by the method of 2,4-dinitro chloro benzene (DNCB) immunity and acetic acid local enema. Ninety-eight SD rats were randomly divided into seven groups, namely, the normal control group, model group, salicylazosulfapyridine (SASP) group,Wumeiwan (WMW) group, Baitouwengtang (BTWT) group,Senglingbaishusan (SLBSS) group, and Tongxieyaofang (TXYF) group. Each group had 14 rats (with equal ratio of male and female). The six animal model groups of UC-SASP, TXYF, WMW, BTWT, SLBSS, TXYF-were treated by distilled water except the normal control group. Changes of the rat's general conditions after treatment were respectively observed, the colon tissue damage scores were given out, the pathology of colonic mucosa and changes of ultrastructure were analyzed.RESULTS: Different pathological changes on histology were shown after treatment by FRIP. The colon tissue damage score in model group was higher than that of FRIP groups and SASP group (q = 4.59, 4.77, P<0.05 or q = 5.48,6.25, 5.97, P<0.01). The scores of WMW group, BTWT group and SLBSS group were lower than that of SASP (q = 4.13, P<0.05 or q = 5.31, 5.12, P<0.01). There was no remarkable difference between the damage score of TXYF group and SASP group (q = 3.75, P>0.05). | 7 | Human placenta-derived mesenchymal stem cells loaded on linear ordered collagen scaffold improves functional recovery after completely transected spinal cord injury in canine显示文摘Traumatic spinal cord injury(SCI) is a major challenge in the clinic. In this study, we sought to examine the synergistic effects of linear ordered collagen scaffold(LOCS) and human placenta-derived mesenchymal stem cells(hPMSCs) when transplanted into completely transected beagle dogs. After 36 weeks observation, we found that LOCS+hPMSCs implants promoted better hindlimb locomotor recovery than was observed in the non-treatment(control) group and LOCS group. Histological analysis showed that the regenerated tissue after treatment was well integrated with the host tissue, and dramatically reduced the volume of cystic and chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans(CSPGs) expression. Furthermore, the LOCS+hPMSCs group also showed more neuron-specific βIII-tubulin(Tuj-1)-and NeuN-positive neurons in the lesion area, as well as axonal regeneration, remyelination and synapse formation in the lesion site. Additionally, dogs in the LOCS+hPMSCs group experienced enhanced sprouting of both ascending(CGRP-positive) sensory fibers and descending(5-HT-and TH-positive) motor fibers at the lesion area. All these data together suggested that the combined treatment had beneficial effects on neuronal regeneration and functional improvement in a canine complete transection model. | 11 | CO_2 gas emplacement age in the Songliao Basin: Insight from volcanic quartz ^(40)Ar-^(39)Ar stepwise crushing显示文摘Due to a lack of suitable minerals, the gas/oil emplacement ages have never been accurately obtained before. CH4-CO2-saline- bearing secondary inclusions are found in quartz from the volcanic rocks of the Yingcheng Formation, the container rocks of the deep CO2 gas reservoir in the Songliao Basin. The inclusion fluid was trapped into microcracks in quartz during the gas em- placement and accumulation, providing an optimal target for the 40Ar-39Ar stepwise crushing technique to determine the CO2 gas emplacement age. 40Ar-39Ar dating results of a quartz sample by stepwise crushing yield a highly linear-regression isochron with an age of 78.4±1.3 Ma, indicating that the accumulation of the deep CO2 gas reservoir in the Songliao Basin occurred in the late Cretaceous. This draft contains 387.73 Mb of assembled scaffolds, 83.93% of the scaffolds were anchored onto nine pseudochromosomes and 95.09% of 43 240 protein-coding genes were functionally annotated. 184.75 Mb(47.65%) of repeat sequences was identified in the assembled genome. By comparative analyses of the radish genome against 10 other plant genomes, 2 275 genes in 780 gene families were found unique to R. sativus. | 14 | Automatic ^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar Dating Techniques Using Multicollector ARGUS VI Noble Gas Mass Spectrometer with Self-Made Peripheral Apparatus显示文摘A new fully automatic ^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar laboratory with a Thermo Scientific~? ARGUS Ⅵ mass spectrometer has been established in China University of Geosciences(Wuhan). We designed and developed a mini efficient preparation system(80 mL), a CO_2 laser for heating samples, a crusher for extracting fluid inclusions within K-poor minerals and an air reservoir(31 L) and pipette(0.1 mL) system. The ARGUS Ⅵ mass spectrometer is operated by the Qtegra Noble Gas software, which can control the peripheral accessories, such as pneumatic valves, CO_2 laser and crusher through a PeriCon(peripheral controller). The experimental procedures of atmospheric argon analyses, ^(40) Ar/^(39)Ar dating by laser stepwise heating and by progressive crushing in vacuo, can be fully automatically performed. The weighted mean of atmospheric ^(40)Ar/^(36)Ar ratios is 302.22±0.03(1σ, MSWD=0.74, n=200), indicating that air reservoir and pipette system and the whole instrument system are very stable. | 15 | Study on fire-retardant nanocrystalline Mg-Al layered double hydroxides synthesized by microwavecrystallization method显示文摘Nanocrystalline Mg-Al layered double hydroxides with the particle size being 10—40 nm were firstly prepared by the technology of the microwave-crystallization and the vari- able-speed addition of the alkali. The obtained samples were characterized by TEM and XRD. The roles of the microwave and addition rate of the alkali were also discussed in the present work. The thermal decomposition activation energy of the nano-LDHs was calculated according to their TG, DTG and DSC curves by the Ozawa method. The results showed that the thermal decom- position of the nano-LDHs had four steps. Thereby the decomposition model of the nano-LDHs was supposed according to the analysis of their thermal decomposition. After PS, ABS, HDPE and PVC were filled with the nano-LDHs, their LOI values could be increased up to 28, 27, 26 and 33, respectively. | 19 | Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome.
