1New Bradoriid Arthropods from the Early Cambrian Balang Formation of Eastern Guizhou, South China显示文摘The Early Cambrian Balang Formation is comprised of mudrock and shale, which was deposited in a shelf environment in the eastern part of Guizhou, south China. The Balang Fauna, which consists of seven phyla, occurs in the middle and upper parts of the Balang Formation. Arthropods are important constituents of the Balang Fauna and include a great number of trilobites, large bivalved arthropods, and newly-discovered well-preserved bradoriid fossils. The bradoriids present include three genera and four species : Comptaluta inflata (Cheng, 1974) emend Hou et al., 2002; Comptaluta kailiensis sp. nov., and Alutella elongeta sp. nov., Aluta sp. This faunal assemblage in the Balang Formation is distinguished from the Tsunyiella Chang, 1964, Songlinella Yin, 1978 and Kunmingella Hou, 1956 assemblage which occurs in the Niutitang and Mingxinsi formations of the Yangtze Platform in middle region of Guizhou and which is earlier than the Balang Formation in age. However, this assemblage resembles the Comptaluta pik, 1968 assemblage from the Early Cambrian Heilinpu Formation in Wuding County, Yuanan Province and from the Ordian Stage of the Cambrian of Australia. The great abundance of Comptaluta pik, 1968 and overall taxonomic diversity of the Comptaluta pik, 1968 assemblage set it distinctly apart from the Alutella Kobayashi et Kato, 1951 and Aluta Hou, 1956 assemblages of the Balang Formation. Alutella Kobayashi et Kato, 1951 and Aluta Hou, 1956 also occur in the Early Cambrian Niutitang Formation of the Yangtze Platform of Guizhou. Individual Bradoriids from the Balang Formation are characterized by large size (>3 mm). The discovery of new Bradoriid assemblages not only expands the group’s geographical range and assemblage affinities, but also indicates that Bradoriids migrated eastward from shallow-water to deeper-water environments during the Early Cambrian, indicating that they were capable of life in deeper-water, and adaptation to a new ecological setting.PENG Jin FENG Hongzhen FU Xiaoping ZHAO Yuanlong YAO Lu 2010Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2010,84,1:13
2Clinical Evaluation of Pranoprofen Combined with Fluorometholone Eye Drops on Postoperative Reaction of Corneal Cross-linking显示文摘Purpose:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of pranoprofen eye drops for reducing postoperative ocular pain and inflammation after corneal cross-linking (CXL). Methods:Twenty-seven patients (38 eyes) with keratoconus undergoing CXL were examined and randomly divided into control (12 cases; 18 eyes) and experimental groups (15 cases;20 eyes).The patients in the control group were given fluorometholone eye drops,and those in the experimental group were administered with fluorometholone combined with pranoprofen eye drops.Corneal irritation and haze were compared between the two groups at 1 month postoperatively. Results:At 1 to 3 days after surgery,the corneal irritation in the experimental group was significantly reduced compared with that in the control group (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference on 5 to 7 days postoperatively (P>0.05). The average degree of haze in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group 1 month after surgery (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference in the best-corrected vision acuity and intraocular pressure between the two groups. There were 2 cases with >20 mmHg intraocular pressure in the control group. Conclusion:The combined use of fluorometholone and pranoprofen can significantly reduce inflammatory response,alleviate corneal irritation at early stage after CXL,effectively prevent and control the average of haze,and reduce the incidence of steroid-induced ocular hypertension after surgery.Xu Pang Zhengjun Fan Xiujun Peng Hongzhen Jia Tengfei Wu 2012Eye Science2012,27,4:4

13Self-assembly of Micrometer-long DNA Nanoribbons with Four Oligonucleotides显示文摘DNA nanostructures have found widespread applications in areas including nanoelectronics and biomedicine.However,traditional DNA origami needs a long single-stranded virus DNA and hundreds of short DNA strands,which make this method complicated and money-consuming.Here,we present a protocol for the assembly of DNA nanoribbons with only four oligonucleotides.DNA nanoribbons with different dimensions were successfully assembled with a 96-base scafford strand and three short staples.These biotinylated nanoribbons could also be decorated with streptavidins.This approach suggests that there exist great design spaces for the creation of simple nucleic acid nanostructures which could facilitate their application in plasmonic or drug delivery.Jie Chao Xiangyuan Ouyang Hongzhen Peng Shao Su Lianhui Wang 2015Chinese Journal of Chemistry2015,33,5:0
14Comparison of Central Corneal Thickness using Ultrasound Pachymetry during Corneal Collagen Cross-linking显示文摘Purpose:To study variation in central corneal thickness (CCT) during corneal collagen cross-linking(CXL) using ultrasound pachymetry. Methods:Twenty patients (26 eyes) with progressing keratoconus undergoing riboflavin-UVA-induced CXL were involved in this study. Intraoperative CCT measurement using ultrasonic pachymetry was performed during the procedure.Measurements were obtained before operation, after epithelial removal, after riboflavin drop instillation, and after UVA irradiation. Results:Mean CCT was 495±56 and 450±52 μm before and after epithelial removal, respectively. Mean CCT was 443±42 and 411±39 μm after riboflavin drop instillation and after UVA irradiation, respectively. Statistically significant decreases in CCT occurred between the preoperative period and after epithelial removal, after riboflavin drop instillation and after UVA irradiation. Twenty-six eyes from 20 patients undergoing CXL were divided into 2 groups (I with CCT≥400 μm after UVA irradiation and II with CCT<400 μm after UVA irradiation). No statistically significant difference was noted between I and II in preoperative endothelial cell count, but a statistically greater postoperative endothelial cell count was noted in I compared to II. A statistically significant difference was evident between preoperative and postoperative endothelial cell counts in Group II (P<0.05).
