| 1 | Progress and recent trend in MILD combustion显示文摘Moderate or intense low oxygen dilution(MILD)combustion plays a significant role in the mitigation of combustion-generated pollutants and greenhouse gases whilst meeting thermal efficiency needs.However,due to the lack of the fundamental knowledge on this combustion,there is a misconception that MILD combustion should be established by high preheating of the air,which has limited its application.Our research and development on this combustion has been performed for several years. | 3 | Atorvastatin attenuates surgery-induced BBB disruption and cognitive impairment partly by suppressing NF-κB pathway and NLRP3 inflammasome activation in aged mice显示文摘In clinic,perioperative neurocognitive disorder is becoming a common complication of surgery in old patients.Neuroinflammation and blood-brain barrier(BBB)disruption are important contributors for cognitive impairment.Atorvastatin,as a strong HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor,has been widely used in clinic.However,it remains unclear whether atorvastatin could prevent anesthesia and surgery-induced BBB disruption and cognitive injury by its anti-inflammatory property.In this study,aged C57BL/6J mice were used to address this question.Initially,the mice were subject to atorvastatin treatment for 7 days(10 mg/kg).After a simple laparotomy under 1.5%isoflurane anesthesia,Morris water maze was performed to assess spatial learning and memory.Western blot analysis,immunohistochemistry,and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were used to examine the inflammatory response,BBB integrity,and cell apoptosis.Terminal-deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated nick end labeling assay was used to assess cell apoptosis.The fluorescein sodium and transmission electron microscopy were used to detect the permeability and structure of BBB.The results showed that anesthesia and surgery significantly injured hippocampal-dependent learning and memory,which was ameliorated by atorvastatin.Atorvastatin could also reverse the surgery-induced increase of systemic and hippocampal cytokines,including IL-1β,TNF-α,and IL-6,accompanied by inhibiting the nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB)pathway and Nucleotide-Binding Oligomerization Domain,or Leucine Rich Repeat and Pyrin Domain Containing 3(NLRP3)inflammasome activation,as well as hippocampal neuronal apoptosis.In addition,surgery triggered an increase of BBB permeability,paralleled by a decrease of the ZO-1,occludin,and Claudin 5 proteins in the hippocampus.However,atorvastatin treatment could protect the BBB integrity from the impact of surgery,by up-regulating the expressions of ZO-1,occludin,and Claudin 5.These findings suggest that atorvastatin exhibits neuroprotective effects on cognition in aged mice undergoing surgery. | Pengfei Liu Quansheng Gao Lei Guan Yanting Hu Jingwen Jiang Teng Gao Weixuan Sheng Xinying Xue Hui Qiao Tianzuo Li | 2021 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,5: | 6 |

| 9 | Steady-state coupled analysis of flowfields and thermochemical erosion of C/C nozzles in hybrid rocket motors显示文摘A hybrid rocket can be used in various applications and is an attractive propulsion system.However,serious erosion of nozzles is common in motor firing operations,which could restrict the application of hybrid rocket motors.Usually,the serious erosion is attributed to the high concentration of oxidizing species in hybrid motors,while the details of flowfields in the motors are not paid special attention to.In this paper,first the thermochemical erosion of C/C nozzle is simulated coupled with the flowfields in a 98%H2O2/hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene(HTPB)hybrid rocket motor.The simulation is made on a typical axisymmetric motor,including a pre-combustion chamber,an aft-combustion chamber and nozzle structures.Thermochemical reactions of H2O,CO2,OH,O and O2with C are taken into account.Second,the change of flowfields due to fuel regression during motor firing operations is considered.Nozzle erosion in different flowfields is evaluated.Third,the results of nozzle erosion in the coupled simulation are compared with those under uniform and chemical equilibrium flow and motor firing test results.The results of simulation and firing tests indicate that the thermochemical erosion of nozzles in hybrid motors should be calculated coupled with flowfields in the motor.In uniform and chemical equilibrium flowfields,the erosion rate is overestimated.The diffusion flame in hybrid motors protects the nozzle surface from the injected oxidizer and high temperature products in flowfields,leading to a relatively fuel-rich environment above the nozzle.The influence of OH and the geometry of motor should also be considered in the evaluation of nozzle erosion in hybrid motors. | ZHAO Sheng TIAN Hui WANG PengFei YU NanJia CAI GuoBiao | 2015 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2015,58,3: | 2 |

| 14 | Redirecting dynamic structural evolution of nickel-contained RuO_(2) catalyst during electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction显示文摘Electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is a main efficiency bottleneck of water electrolysis.Commercial ruthenium oxide (RuO_(2)) catalyst displays remarkable activities but poor stability for OER.The instability stems from lattice oxygen oxidation,resulting in the oxidation of Ru^(4+) to soluble Ru^(4+)(x>4) species.Herein,we redirect dynamic structural evolution of Ru-based catalysts through introducing oxidized nickel (Ni) components.By virtue of comprehensive structural characterizations,such as high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy (HAADF-STEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS),operando Raman and so forth,it is demonstrated that when the atomic content of Ni exceeds that of ruthenium (Ru),the Ni components can efficiently inhibit the Ru^(4+) oxidation and structural collapse.Density functional theory (DFT) calculations suggest that the introduction of Ni component hinders the formation of oxygen vacancies,and makes lattice oxygen mediated mechanism turn to adsorbate evolution mechanism,which eventually improves the stability.The optimized nickel-contained RuO_(2) catalyst delivers an effective reactivity with an overpotential of less than 215 m V to attain 10 m A cm^(-2) and remarkable stability with only 5 mV increment after 5000 potential cycles.This work provides insights into the origin of dynamic structural evolution of transition-metalmodified RuO_(2) electrocatalysts. | Yuhan Zhao Menghua Xi Yanbin Qi Xuedi Sheng Pengfei Tian Yihua Zhu Xiaoling Yang Chunzhong Li Hongliang Jiang | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,6: | 1 |

| 19 | MEMS ultrasonic transducers for safe,low-power and portable eye-blinking monitoring显示文摘Eye blinking is closely related to human physiology and psychology.It is an effective method of communication among people and can be used in human-machine interactions.Existing blink monitoring methods include videooculography,electro-oculograms and infrared oculography.However,these methods suffer from uncomfortable use,safety risks,limited reliability in strong light or dark environments,and infringed informational security.In this paper,we propose an ultrasound-based portable approach for eye-blinking activity monitoring.Low-power pulse-echo ultrasound featuring biosafety is transmitted and received by microelectromechanical system(MEMS)ultrasonic transducers seamlessly integrated on glasses.The size,weight and power consumption of the transducers are 2.5 mm by 2.5 mm,23.3 mg and 71μW,respectively,which provides better portability than conventional methods using wearable devices.Eye-blinking activities were characterized by open and closed eye states and validated by experiments on dfferent volunteers.Finally,real-time eye-blinking monitoring was successfully demonstrated with a response time less than 1 ms.The proposed solution paves the way for ultrasound-based wearable eye-blinking monitoring and offers miniaturization,light weight,low power consumption,high informational security and biosafety. | Sheng Sun Jianyuan Wang Menglun Zhang Yuan Ning Dong Ma Yi Yuan Pengfei Niu Zhicong Rong Zhuochen Wang Wei Pang | 2022 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,3: | 0 |
