Rattle-Type Silica Colloidal Particles Prepared by a Surface- Protected Etching Process显示文摘This paper explores the capability of the“surface-protected etching”process for the creation of rattle-type SiO_(2)@void@SiO_(2) colloidal structures featuring a mesoporous silica shell and a mesoporous movable silica core. The surface-protected etching process involves stabilization of the particle surface using a polymer ligand, and then selective etching of the interior to form hollow structures. In this paper, this strategy has been extended to the formation of rattle-like structures by etching SiO_(2)@SiO_(2) core shell particles which are synthesized by a two-step sol gel process. The key is to introduce a protecting polymer of polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP)to the surface of both core and shell in order to tailor their relative stability against chemical etching.Upon reacting with NaOH,the outer layer silica becomes a hollow shell as only the surface layer is protected by PVP and the interior is removed, while the core remains its original size thanks to the protection of PVP on its surface. This process can be carried out at room temperature without the need of additional templates or complicated heterogeneous coating procedures. The etching process also results in the rattle-type colloids having mesoscale pores with two distinct average sizes. In our demonstration of a model drug delivery process, such mesoporous structures show an interesting two-step elution profile which is believed to be related to the unique porous rattle structures.Qiao Zhang Jianping Ge James Goebl Yongxing Hu Zhenda Lu Yadong Yin 2009Nano Research2009,2,7:18
Bottom Factors Applied to the Zoning Study of the Risk Levels of Landslides in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area显示文摘Without taking inducing factors into consideration, this paper adopts a quantitative analysis of the bottom factors in the Three Gorges Reservoir area, studies the relationship between the bottom factors and the development of landslides, and then zones the area according to risk levels. The bottom factors adopted in this paper include lithological characters(U_ 1 ), gradient(U_ 2 ), slope form(U_ 3 ), difference of height(U_ 4 ), and slope orientation(U_ 5 ). In 4 650 km 2 of the studied area, the areas of the very high, high, medium and low hazard degree area respectively were 57.94 km 2 , 2 305.15 km 2 , 1 241.6 km 2 , 1 045.31 km 2 . The methodological steps are ① inversion statistic analysis, ② the analysis of contribution ratio and weighing, ③ getting results via fuzzy evaluation of risk levels.QIAO Jianping ZHU Axing WU Caiyan TIAN Hongling 2006Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2006,11,4:12

Mechanical and dielectric properties of porous and wave-transparent Si3N4–Si3N4 composite ceramics fabricated by 3D printing combined with chemical vapor infiltration显示文摘Porous Si3N4–Si3N4 composite ceramics were fabricated by 3D printing combined with low-pressure chemical vapor infiltration(CVI).This technique could effectively improve the designability of porous Si3N4 ceramics and optimize the mechanical and dielectric properties. The effects of process parameters including the deposition time and heat treatment on the microstructure and properties of porous Si3N4–Si3N4 composite ceramics were studied. The study highlights following:When CVI processing time was increased from 0 to 12 h,the porosity decreased from68.65%to 26.07%and the density increased from 0.99 to 2.02 g/cm3.At the same time, the dielectric constant gradually increased from 1.72 to 3.60;however,the dielectric loss always remained less than0.01,indicating the excellent electromagnetic(EM)wave-transparent performance of porous Si3N4–Si3N4 composite ceramics. The maximum flexural strength of 47±2 MPa was achieved when the deposition time attained 6 h.After heat treatment, the porosity increased from 26.07%to 36.02%and the dielectric constant got a slight increase from 3.60 to 3.70 with the dielectric loss still maintaining lower than 0.01.It has been demonstrated that the porous Si3N4–Si3N4 composite ceramics are a promising structural and EM wave-transparent material suitable for high temperature service.Zanlin CHENG Fang YE Yongsheng LIU Tianlu QIAO Jianping LI Hailong QIN Laifei CHENG Litong ZHANG 2019Journal of Advanced Ceramics2019,8,3:10
Quantitative Geoscience and Geological Big Data Development: A Review显示文摘After long-term development, mathematical geology has today become an independent discipline. Big Data science, which has become a new scientific paradigm in the 21 st century, gives rise to the geological Big Data, i.e. mathematical geology and quantitative geoscience. Thanks to a robust macro strategy for big data, China's quantitative geoscience and geological big data's rapid development meets present requirements and has kept up with international levels. This paper presents China's decade-long achievements in quantitative prediction and assessment of mineral resources, geoscience information and software systems, geological information platform development, etc., with an emphasis on application of geological big data in informatics, quantitative mineral prediction, geological environment and disaster management, digital land survey, digital city, etc. Looking ahead, mathematical geology is moving towards 'Digital Geology', 'Digital Land' and 'Geological Cloud', eventually realizing China's grand 'Digital China' blueprint, and these valuable results will be showcased on the international academic arena.CHEN Jianping XIANG Jie HU Qiao YANG Wei LAI Zili HU Bin WEI Wei 2016Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2016,90,4:8
Examples of unusual ionospheric observations by the CSES prior to earthquakes显示文摘The CSES(China seismic electromagnetic satellite) was launched on February 2, 2018 in a circular polar orbit at an altitude of~507 km. One of the main objectives of CSES is to search for and characterize ionospheric perturbations that can be associated with seismic activities, to better understand the generation mechanism of such perturbations. Its scientific payload can measure a broad frequency range of electromagnetic waves and some important plasma parameters. This paper is a first-hand study of unusual observations recorded by the CSES over seismic regions prior to four earthquakes with M >7.0 since the satellite's launch. CSES detectors measured irregularities near the epicenter of these four earthquakes. It is already clear that data from instruments onboard the CSES will be of significant help in studies of characteristics of ionospheric perturbations related to earthquakes and their generation mechanisms.Rui Yan XuHui Shen JianPing Huang Qiao Wang Wei Chu DaPeng Liu YanYan Yang HengXin Lu Song Xu 2018Earth and Planetary Physics2018,2,6:7
Landslides and Slope Aspect in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area Based on GIS and Information Value Model显示文摘Slope aspect is one of the indispensable internal factors besides lithology, relative elevation and slope degree. In this paper authors use information value model with Geographical Information System (GIS) technology to study how slope aspect contributes to landslide growth from Yunyang to Wushan segment in the Three Gorges Reservoir area, and the relationship between aspect and landslide growth is quantified.Through the research on 205 landslides examples,it is found that the slope contributes most whose aspect is towards south, southeast and southwest aspect contribute moderately, and other five aspects contribute little. The research result inosculates preferably with the fact. The result of this paper can provide potent gist to the construction of Three Gorges Reservoir area in future.WU Caiyan QIAO Jianping WANG Meng 2006Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2006,11,4:6
A 3D visible evaluation of landslide risk degree under integration of GIS and artificial intelligence显示文摘Artificial intelligence has been used to obtain background factors (basic environmental factors) from landslide specialists. A 3D visible evaluation map may be charted by fuzzy evaluation, and the traditional plane map may be decoded into a 3D map by using factor weight from specialists system and technology of RS and GIS for quantitative sampling of these factors.QIAO Jianping, ZHU Axing, CHEN Yongbo& WANG Rongxun Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Ministry of Water Resources, Chengdu 610041, China Geography Department of Wisconsin University, Madison, Wisconsin, USA 2003Science China(Technological Sciences)2003,46,z1:6
GIS-based Earthquake-Triggered Landslide Hazard Zoning Using Contributing Weight Model显示文摘Earthquake-triggered landslides have aroused widespread attention because of their tremendous ability to harm people's lives and properties. The best way to avoid and mitigate their damage is to develop landslide hazard maps and make them available to the public in advance of an earthquake.Future construction can then be built according to the level of hazard and existing structures can be retrofit as necessary.During recent years various approaches have been made to develop landslide hazard maps using statistical analysis or physical models. However, these methods have limitations. This study introduces a new GIS-based approach, using the contributing weight model,to evaluate the hazard of seismically-induced landslides. In this study, the city and surrounding area of Dujiangyan was selected as the research area because of its moderate-high seismic activity. The parameters incorporated into the model that related to the probability of landslide occurrence were:slope gradient, slope aspect, geomorphology, lithology, base level, surface roughness, earthquake intensity, fault proximity, drainage proximity, and road proximity. The parameters were converted into raster data format with a resolution of 25×25m2 pixels.Analysis of the GIS correlations shows that the highest earthquake-induced landslide hazard areas are mainly in the hills and in some of the moderately steep mountainous areas of central Dujiangyan. The highest hazard zone covers an area of 11.1% of the study area, and the density distribution of seismically-induced landslides was 3.025/km2 from the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake. The moderately hazardous areas are mainly distributed within the moderately steep mountainous regions of the northern and southeastern parts of the study area and the hills of the northeastern part;covering 32.0% of the study area and with a density distribution of 2.123/km2 resulting from the Wenchuan earthquake. The lowest hazard areas are mainly distributed in the topographically flat plain in the northeastern part and some of the relatively gently slopes in the moderately steep mountainous areas of the northern part of Dujiangyan and the surrounding area. The lowest hazard areas cover 56.9% of the study area and exhibited landslide densities of 0.941/km2 and less from the Wenchuan earthquake. The quality of the hazard map was validated using a comparison with the distribution of landslides that were cataloged as occurring from the Wenchuan earthquake.43.1% of the study area consists of high and moderate hazardous zones, and these regions include 83.5% of landslides caused by the Wenchuan earthquake. The successful analysis shows that the contributing weight model can be effective for earthquake-triggered landslide hazard appraisal. The model's results can provide the basis for risk management and regional planning is.WANG Meng 2010Journal of Mountain Science2010,7,4:6

Using Physical Model Experiments for Hazards Assessment of Rainfall-Induced Debris Landslides显示文摘Using physical simulation models, rainfall-induced landslides have been simulated under various rainfall intensities. During these simulations, we have monitored the physical and mechanical behaviors of the landslide over the slip surface at different heights of the model slopes, as well as taking the whole slope to identify its deformation and failure processes. The results show that the rainfall duration corresponding to the initiation of the debris landslide and is exponentially related to rainfall intensity. Corresponding to the three intervals of the rainfall intensity, there are three types of slope failure modes:(1) the small-slump failure at the leading edge of the slope;(2) the block-slump failure but sometimes there are large blocks sliding down;and(3) the bulk failure but sometimes there is the block-slump failure. Based on the total rainfall-lasting time and the associated proportion of failed mass volume, the early warning of debris landslide can be classified into five grades, i.e., red, orange to red, orange, yellow to orange and yellow, which correspond to the five slope failure modes, respectively.Qianqian Li Dong Huang Shufeng Pei Jianping Qiao Meng Wang 2021Journal of Earth Science2021,32,5:4
Cross-calibration on the electromagnetic field detection payloads of the China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite显示文摘The China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite(CSES)deploys three payloads to detect the electromagnetic environment in the ionosphere. The tri-axial fluxgate magnetometers(FGM),as part of the high precision magnetometer(HPM),measures the Earth magnetic vector field in a frequency range from direct current(DC)to 15 Hz.The tri-axial search coil magnetometer(SCM)detects the alternating current(AC)related magnetic field in a frequency range from several Hz to 20 k Hz,and the electric field detector(EFD)measures the spatial electric field in a broad frequency band from DC to 3.5 MHz.This work mainly crosscalibrates the consistency of these three payloads in their overlapped detection frequency range and firstly evaluates CSES’s timing system and the sampling time differences between EFD and SCM.A sampling time synchronization method for EFD and SCM waveform data is put forward. The consistency between FGM and SCM in the ultra-low-frequency(ULF)range is validated by using the magnetic torque(MT)signal as a reference.A natural quasiperiodic electromagnetic wave event verifies SCM and EFD’s consistency in extremely low-frequency and very low-frequency(ELF/VLF)bands.This cross-calibration work is helpful to upgrade the data quality of CSES and brings valuable insights to similar electromagnetic detection solutions by low earth orbit satellites.ZHIMA Zeren ZHOU Bin ZHAO ShuFan WANG Qiao HUANG JianPing ZENG Li LEI JunGang CHEN Yu LI Cheng YANG DeHe SUN XiaoYing MIAO YuanQing ZHU XingHong SHEN XuHui 2022Science China(Technological Sciences)2022,65,6:3
China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite search coil magnetometerdata and initial results显示文摘Four levels of the data from the search coil magnetometer(SCM) onboard the China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite(CSES)are defined and described. The data in different levels all contain three components of the waveform and/or spectrum of the induced magnetic field around the orbit in the frequency range of 10 Hz to 20 kHz; these are divided into an ultra-low-frequency band(ULF,10–200 Hz), an extremely low frequency band(ELF, 200–2200 Hz), and a very low frequency band(VLF, 1.8–20 kHz). Examples of data products for Level-2, Level-3, and Level-4 are presented. The initial results obtained in the commission test phase demonstrated that the SCM was in a normal operational status and that the data are of high enough quality to reliably capture most space weather events related to low-frequency geomagnetic disturbances.Qiao Wang JianPing Huang XueMin Zhang XuHui Shen ShiGeng Yuan Li Zeng JinBin Cao 2018Earth and Planetary Physics2018,2,6:2

Positioning taxonomic research for the future显示文摘Why do taxonomists matter? The work of taxonomists is often understated if not completely misunderstood. Without taxonomists, organisms cannot be accurately identified, neither can these organisms be given universally accepted names, and reliably positioned in the phylogenetic tree of life. Thanks to the work of taxonomists over the last 269 years since Carl Linnaeus established the binomial system, we can now measure the health and wealth of our biodiversity in a refined, science-based inventory prescribed by stringent nomenclatural rules.Deyuan Hong Wenying Zhuang Min Zhu Keping Ma Xiaoquan Wang Dawei Huang Yalin Zhang Guodong Ren Wenjun Bu Wanzhi Cai Dong Ren Ding Yang Aiping Liang Fengyan Bai Runzhi Zhang Fumin Lei Shuqiang Li Hongzhi Kong Lei Cai Yucheng Dai Chaodong Zhu Qisen Yang Jun Chen Zhongli Sha Jianping Jiang Jing Che Donghui Wu Jiatang Li Qiang Wang Xinli Wei Ming Bai Xingyue Liu Xuexin Chen Gexia Qiao 2022Zoological Systematics2022,47,3:2
Zwitterionic phosphorylcholine-protected water-soluble Ag nanoparticles显示文摘The water-soluble Ag nanoparticles capped with novel zwitterionic thioalkylated phosphorylcholine were synthesized. The Ag nanoparticles showed remarkable stability in saline media with salt concen-trations as high as 2.0 mol/L and plasma using UV-vis absorption spectroscopy.Similarly, compared with tiopronin and citrate-protected Ag nanoparticles, the zwitterionic phosphorylcholine Ag nanopar-ticles did not precipitate out of solution when charged polyelectrolytes or biopolymers were added. The zwitterionic phosphorylcholine might be a better ligand for stabilizing metal nanoparticles.JIN Qiao LIU XiangSheng XU JianPing JI Jian SHEN JiaCong 2009Science China Chemistry2009,52,1:2
Analysis of Danba Landslide显示文摘This paper using finite element method analyzed present slope and contrasted it with the original slope shape, plastic deformation figures and stress changes. At the same time, some deformation figures and stress figures were got, and the potential sliding surface and the stability coefficient were calculated. The conclusions are: This slope is provided with sliding conditions and began to slide when its foot was cut without any support in time. At the foot of the slope, some support measures must be taken to keep the slope steady and the slope surface need to be stabilzed to protect the lower people. These suggestions and conclusions are also useful to the slope constructions and succeeding inspecting works.TIAN Hongling QIAO Jianping LI Xinpo 2006Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2006,11,4:1
A joint call for actions to advance taxonomy in China显示文摘Taxonomy plays an important role in understanding the origin, evolution, and ecological functionality of biodiversity. There are large number of unknown species yet to be described by taxonomists, which together with their ecosystem services cannot be effectively protected prior to description. Despite this, taxonomy has been increasingly underrated insufficient funds and permanent positions to retain young talents. Further, the impact factordriven evaluation systems in China exacerbate this downward trend, so alternative evaluation metrics are urgently necessary. When the current generation of outstanding taxonomists retires, there will be too few remaining taxonomists left to train the next generation. In light of these challenges, all co-authors worked together on this paper to analyze the current situation of taxonomy and put out a joint call for immediate actions to advance taxonomy in China.Chaodong Zhu Arong Luo Ming Bai Michael COrr Zhonge Hou Siqin Ge Jun Chen Yibo Hu Xuming Zhou Gexia Qiao Hongzhi Kong Limin Lu Xiaohua Jin Lei Cai Xinli Wei Ruilin Zhao Wei Miao Qingfeng Wang Zhongli Sha Qiang Lin Meng Qu Jianping Jiang Jiatang Li Jing Che Xuelong Jiang Xiaoyong Chen Lianming Gao Zongxin Ren Chunlei Xiang Shixiao Luo Donghui Wu Dong Liu Yanqiong Peng Tao Su Chenyang Cai Tianqi Zhu Wanzhi Cai Xingyue Liu Hu Li Huaijun Xue Zhen Ye Xuexin Chen Pu Tang Shujun Wei Hong Pang Qiang Xie Feng Zhang Feng Zhang Xianjin Peng Aibing Zhang Taiping Gao Changfa Zhou Chen Shao Libin Ma Zhaoming Wei Yunxia Luan Ziwei Yin Wu Dai Cong Wei Xiaolei Huang Jingxian Liu Xiangsheng Chen Tianci Yi Zhisheng Zhang Zhulidezi Aishan Qin Li Hongying Hu 2022Zoological Systematics2022,47,3:1
