| 2 | Deep structure beneath the southwestern section of the Longmenshan fault zone and seimogenetic context of the 4.20 Lushan M_S7.0 earthquake显示文摘Magnetotelluric measurements were carried out along two profiles across the middle and southwestern sections of the Longmenshan fault zone(LMSf)from 2009 to 2011,after the 2008 Wenchuan MW7.9 earthquake.The former profile crosses the Wenchuan event epicenter and the latter one crosses 2013 Lushan MS7.0 event epicenter.The data were analyzed using advanced processing techniques,including phase tensor and two-dimensional inversion methods,in order to obtain reliable 2-D profiles of the electrical structure in the vicinity of the two earthquakes.A comparison of the two profiles indicates both similarities and differences in the deep crustal structure of the LMSf.West of the southwestern section,a crustal high conductivity layer(HCL)is present at about 10 km depth below the Songpan-Garzêblock;this is about 10 km shallower than that under the middle section of the LMSf.A high resistivity body(HRB)is observed beneath the southwestern section,extending from the near surface to the top of upper mantle.It has a smaller size than the HRB observed below the middle section.In the middle section,there is a local area of decreased resistivity within the HRB but there is absence of this area.The 2013 Lushan earthquake occurred close to the eastern boundary of HRB and the Shuangshi-Dachuan fault,of which the seismogenic context has both common and different features in comparison with the 2008 Wenchuan event.On a large scale,the 2013 Lushan earthquake is associated with the HCL and deformation in the crust including HCL of the eastern Tibetan Plateau.In order to assess seismic risk,it is important to consider both the stress state and the detailed crustal structure in different parts of the LMSf. | ZHAN Yan ZHAO GuoZe UNSWORTH Martyn WANG LiFeng CHEN XiaoBin LI Tao XIAO QiBin WANG JiJun TANG Ji CAI JunTao WANG YanZhao | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28: | 39 |

We aim to provide a comprehensive review of recent progress in salient object detection and situate this field among other closely related areas such as generic scene segmentation, object proposal generation, and saliency for fixation prediction. Covering 228 publications, we survey i) roots, key concepts, and tasks, ii) core techniques and main modeling trends, and iii) datasets and evaluation metrics for salient object detection. | 4 | A nomogramfor predicting overall survival in patients with low-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma: A population-based analysis显示文摘Background:Low-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma(LG-ESS)is a rare tumor that lacks a prognostic prediction model.Our study aimed to develop a nomogram to predict overall survival of LG-ESS patients.Methods:A total of 1172 patients confirmed to have LG-ESS between 1988 and 2015 were selected from the Surveillance,Epidemiology and End Results(SEER)database.They were further divided into a training cohort and a validation cohort.The Akaike information criterion was used to select variables for the nomogram.The discrimination and calibration of the nomogram were evaluated using concordance index(C-index),area under time-dependent receiver operating characteristic curve(time-dependent AUC),and calibration plots.The net benefits of the nomogram at different threshold probabilities were quantified and compared with those of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics(FIGO)criteria-based tumor staging using decision curve analysis(DCA).Net reclassification index(NRI)and integrated discrimination improvement(IDI)were also used to compare the nomogram’s clinical utilitywith that of the FIGO criteria-based tumor staging.The risk stratifications of the nomogram and the FIGO criteria-based tumor staging were compared.Results:Seven variables were selected to establish the nomogram for LG-ESS.The C-index(0.814 for the training cohort and 0.837 for the validation cohort)and the time-dependent AUC(>0.7)indicated satisfactory discriminative ability of the nomogram.The calibration plots showed favorable consistency between the prediction of the nomogram and actual observations in both the training and validation cohorts.The NRI values(training cohort:0.271 for 5-year and 0.433 for 10-year OS prediction;validation cohort:0.310 for 5-year and 0.383 for 10-year OS prediction)and IDI(training cohort:0.146 for 5-year and 0.185 for 10-year OS prediction;validation cohort:0.177 for 5-year and 0.191 for 10-year OS prediction)indicated that the established nomogram performed significantly better than the FIGO criteria-based tumor staging alone(P<0.05).Furthermore,DCA showed that the nomogram was clinically useful and had better discriminative ability to recognize patients at high risk than the FIGO criteria-based tumor staging.Conclusions:A prognostic nomogram was developed and validated to assist clinicians in evaluating prognosis of LG-ESS patients. | Jie Wu Huibo Zhang Lan Li Mengxue Hu Liang Chen Bin Xu Qibin Song | 2020 | Cancer Communications2020,40,7: | 35 |

An innovative holistic approach was developed, which took both independence and relevance between parameters into account to analyze the uncertainties in WEC calculation and estimate the margin of safety. The Dongjiang River was taken as the case to demonstrate the method, focusing on the chemical oxygen demand and NH4+–N that were the two major water quality problems in the river. | 8 | Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). | 10 | A novel lead-free Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_(3)-based ceramic with superior comprehensive energy storage and discharge properties for dielectric capacitor applications显示文摘Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_(3)(NBT)-based ceramics have been widely used as dielectric materials for energy storage capacitors because of their environmental friendliness and excellent ferroelectric properties.However,their energy storage performance still needs to be further improved to satisfy the increasing demand.Herein,we report a novel 0.90(Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5))0.7Sr_(0.3)TiO_(3-0.10)Bi(Ni_(0.5)Sn_(0.5))O_(3)(0.90NBST-0.10BNS)ceramic with significantly improved energy density(5.0 J cm3),enhanced recoverable energy density(4.18 J cm^(3))and high energy efficiency(83.64%)through the incorporation of Bi(Ni0.5Sn0.5)O3(BNS),due to the increased breakdown strength and the relaxation ferroelectric(RFE)properties.The first-order reversal curve(FORC)measurements confirm that the addition of BNS improves RFE properties by breaking the order of long-range ferroelectricity.The 0.90NBST-0.10BNS ceramic also possesses an outstanding temperature and frequency stability of energy storage properties in the range of 20C e140C and 1 Hze100 Hz,respectively.More importantly,the discharge properties characterized by a preeminent power density(36.19 MW cm^(3)),transient energy release times(144.2 ns),and high discharge energy density(1.16 J cm3)also synchronously observed in 0.90NBST-0.10BNS ceramic.These results show that the 0.90NBST-0.10BNS ceramic with outstanding comprehensive performances is a promising energy storage ceramic candidate for capacitors in high power systems. | Da Li Ying Lin Qibin Yuan Miao Zhang Liang Ma Haibo Yang | 2020 | Journal of Materiomics2020,6,4: | 4 |
| 11 | Effect of externally applied Jidesheng anti-venom on skin and soft-tissue necrosis after Chinese cobra bite: a retrospective study显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effects of Jidesheng anti-venom used externally for skin and soft-tissue necrosis from Chinese cobra bite.METHODS: A retrospective review was performed according to the clinical data recorded from January 2002 to December 2012. A total of 126 patients(116 females and 10 males) with skin and soft-tissue necrosis due to Chinese cobra bite were divided into two groups. The control group was treated externally with 40% glyceride magnesium sulfate(n=52), and the treatment group was given Jidesheng anti-venom externally(n=74). The data collected included maximum local necrotic area of skin and soft tissues, de-tumescence time, healing time,and skin-grafting rate.RESULTS: There were no significant differences in gender, age, and disease condition between the control and treatment groups(P>0.05). No statistically significant difference was found in de-tumescence time between the two groups(P>0.05). The maximum local necrotic area of skin and soft tissues was(19.9 ± 7.3) cm2in the treatment group,while it was(23.3±6.4) cm2in the control group.The healing time of the treatment group was shorter than that of the control group [(32.1 ± 3.7) vs(34.4±4.5) days)] The skin-grafting rate in the treatment group was lower than that of the control group(10.81% vs 25.00%). | 13 | Modulation of evening complex activity enables north-to-south adaptation of soybean显示文摘Soybean,a typical short-day crop,is sensitive to photoperiod,which is a major limiting factor defining its north-to-south cultivation range.The long-juvenile(LJ)trait is controlled primarily by the J locus which has been used for decades by soybean breeders to delay flowering and improve grain yield in tropical regions.The J gene encodes an ortholog of the Arabidopsis Evening Complex(EC)component EARLY FLOWERING 3(ELF3).To identify modifiers of J,we conducted a forward genetic screen and isolated a mutant(eoj57)that in combination with j has longer flowering delay compared with j single mutant plants.Map-based cloning and genome re-sequencing identified eoj57(designated as GmLUX2)as an ortholog of the Arabidopsis EC component LUX ARRHYTHMO(LUX).To validate that GmLUX2 is a modifier of J,we used trans-complementation and identified a natural variant allele with a similar phenotype.We also show that GmLUX2 physically interacts with GmELF3a/b and binds DNA,whereas the mutant and natural variant are attenuated in both activities.Transcriptome analysis shows that the GmLUX2-GmELF3a complex co-regulates the expression of several circadian clock-associated genes and directly represses E1 expression.These results provide mechanistic insight into how GmLUX2-GmELF3 controls flowering time via synergistic regulation of gene expression.These novel insights expand our understanding of the regulation of the EC complex,and facilitate the development of soybean varieties adapted for growth at lower latitudes. | Xiaolong Fang Yapeng Han Mengshi Liu Jiacan Jiang Xiang Li Qichao Lian Xianrong Xie Yian Huang Qibin Ma Hai Nian Ji Qi Cunyi Yang Yingxiang Wang | 2021 | Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,2: | 3 |

| 16 | Prion Protein Protects Cancer Cells against Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Induced Apoptosis显示文摘Unfolded protein response(UPR) is an adaptive reaction for cells to reduce endoplasmic reticulum(ER) stress. In many types of cancers, such as lung cancer and pancreatic cancer, cancer cells may harness ER stress to facilitate their survival and growth. Prion protein(PrP) is a glycosylated cell surface protein that has been shown to be up-regulated in many cancer cells. Since PrP is a protein prone to misfolding, ER stress can result in under-glycosylated PrP, which in turn may activate ER stress. To assess whether ER stress leads to the production of under-glycosylated PrP and whether underglycosylated PrP may contribute to ER stress thus leading to cancer cell apoptosis, we treated different cancer cells with brefeldin A(BFA), thapsigargin(Thps), and tunicamycin(TM). We found that although BFA, Thps, and TM treatment activated UPR, only ATF4 was consistently activated by these reagents, but not other branches of ER stress. However, the canonical PERK-eIF2α-ATF4 did not account for the observed activation of ATF4 in lung cancer cells. In addition, BFA,but neither Thps nor TM, significantly stimulated the expression of cytosolic PrP. Finally, we found that the levels of PrP contributed to anti-apoptosis activity of BFA-induced cancer cell death. | 17 | Synergistic effects of Mg-substitution and particle size of chicken eggshells on hydrothermal synthesis of biphasic calcium phosphate nanocrystals显示文摘Magnesium(Mg^2+))ion plays important roles in biomineralization of bone,teeth and calcium carbonate skeletons.Herein,chicken eggshells mainly comprising of Mg-calcite nanocrystals(Mg/(Mg+Ca)2.0 mol.%)were used to fabricate biphasic calcium phosphate(BCP),a mixture of hydroxyapatite(HA)and p-tricalcium phosphate(p-TCP)nanocrystals,through hydrothermal reactions at 200℃for 24 h.Our results indicated thatβ-TCP nanocrystals formed through the ion-exchange reactions of Mg-calcite,while HA nanocrystals were mainly produced by dissolution-reprecipitation reactions on the surfaces of eggshell samples in the hydrothermal system.Mg substitution in calcite resulted in formation ofβ-TCP nanocrystals instead of HA crystals through ion-exchange reactions.BCP samples with different compositions(28.6-77.8 wt.%β-TCP)were produced by controlling particle sizes of eggshells for hydrothermal reactions.The larger particles lead to the larger proportion ofβ-TCP in the BCP composition.Therefore,Mg substitution and particle size had synergetic effects on the hydrothermal synthesis of BCP using chicken eggshells through balance of ion-exchange and dissolution-reprecipitation reactions.Cell culture results showed that the BCP products were non-cytotoxic to MC3 T3-E1 cells,which may be used for bone substitute materials in future. | Wei Cui Qibin Song Huhu Su Zhiqing Yang Rui Yang Na Li Xing Zhang | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,36,1: | 2 |
| 18 | Photo-Isomerization Energy Storage Using Azobenzene and Nanoscale Templates: A Topical Review显示文摘Azobenzene(AZO) has attached tremendous attention in the field of photo-isomerization energy storage due to its advantages of absorbing light in ultraviolet-visible range and reversible isomerization. However, the issues of low energy density and short half-lifetime restrict the further development of AZO. Therefore, a method, by preparing hybrid photo-isomerization energy storage materials using nanoscale templates, was proposed to handle the above two issues. In this paper, a summary of hybrid photo-isomerization energy storage materials with AZO and nanoscale templates is conducted from the aspects of templates, preparation methods, derivatives and applications. The performances of template candidates, i.e. carbon nanotubes(CNTs) and graphene(GO) are reviewed and compared based on the analysis of grafting density, energy density, and half-lifetime of hybrid materials. Then, two major preparation methods of AZO hybrid materials including non-covalent and covalent functionalizations are discussed. Furthermore, the studies on AZO derivatives functionalized on nanoscale templates are summarized to further point to the direction of derivatization towards high performance AZO-functionalized materials.
