| 1 | Temperature variations recovered from tree-rings in the middle Qilian Mountain over the last millennium显示文摘Based on the cross-dated tree-ring samples collected from the middle Qilian Moun- tain, a standard ring-width chronology had been developed, which covered the period AD 1000 to 2000. The correlations between the chronology and climatic records from the nearby meteorological stations indicated that temperature was the dominant climatic factor for tree growth at upper timberline, and the most important climatic factor for the tree growth in the area was the mean temperature from previous December to current April. The temperature variations recovered from the ring-width data showed a cold period during the “Little Ice Age” and the con- tinuous warming during the twentieth century. Comparison between the ring-width chronology and δ18O records from the Dunde ice core in the Qilian Mountain indicated that there was a con- sistent trend in both time series. | 2 | Holocene vegetational and climatic variation in westerly-dominated areas of Central Asia inferred from the Sayram Lake in northern Xinjiang,China显示文摘Changes in the vegetation and climate of the westerly-dominated areas in Central Asia during the Holocene were interpreted using pollen-assemblages and charcoal data from a 300-cm-long sediment core of the Sayram Lake,northern Xinjiang.Accele-rator Mass Spectrometry(AMS) radiocarbon dating methods were applied to bulk organic matter of the samples.Artemisia spp./Chenopodiaceae ratios and results from principal component analysis were used to infer that the lake basin was dominated by desert vegetation before ca.9.6 cal.ka BP,which suggests a warm and dry climate in the early Holocene.Desert steppe/steppe expanded during 9.6-5.5 cal.ka BP,indicating a remarkable increase both in the precipitation and temperature during the mid-Holocene.Desert vegetation dominated between 6.5 and 5.5 cal.ka BP,marking an extreme warmer and drier interval.The steppe/meadow steppe recovered,and temperatures decreased from 5.5 cal.ka BP in the late Holocene,as indicated by the increased abundance of Artemisia and the development of meadows.Holocene temperatures and moisture variations in the Sayram Lake areas were similar to those of adjacent areas.This consistency implies that solar radiation was the main driving factor for regional temperature changes,and that the effect of temperature variations was significant on regional changes in humidity.The evolution of climate and environment in the Sayram Lake areas,which were characterized as dry in the early Holocene and relatively humid in the middle-late Holocene,are clearly different from those in monsoonal areas.Dry conditions in the early Holocene in the Sayram Lake areas were closely related to decreased water vapor advection.These conditions were a result of reduced westerly wind speeds and less evaporation upstream,which in turn were caused by seasonal changes in solar radiation superimposed by strong evaporation following warming and drying local climate. | JIANG QingFeng JI JunFeng SHEN Ji Ryo MATSUMOTO TONG GuoBang QIAN Peng REN XueMei YAN DeZhi | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,3: | 32 |
| 3 | Sequence Thickness and its Response to Episodic Tectonic Evolution in Paleogene Qikou Sag, Bohaiwan Basin显示文摘The sequence stratigraphy framework of Paleogene of Qikou Sag has been built in this paper. The evolution law of episodic subsidence in Qikou Sag has been expounded, with the analysis of the characteristic of sequence thickness, as well as the study of consedimental tectonic activity, subsidence history, paleogeomorphology and the coupling relationship among them. The faults controlling action was the dominant mechanism during rifting stage I , as the depression was the dominant mechanism during rifting stage III, which embodies a process from intense disparity fault depression to integral subsidence. Meanwhile, under the control of regional faulting and later stage depression, subsidence rate centers and paleogeomorphic concave centers are always corresponding to the sequence thickness centers, and the changes of subsidence centers and paleogeomorphology concave centers are consistent with the migration of thickness centers, which presents the restriction, coupling and response among them and clarifies the law that tectonic activity controls the basin fill by means of controlling the subsidence rate and paleogeomorphology from contributing factor angle. | 4 | Climatic significance of the stable carbon isotope composition of tree-ring cellulose:Comparison of Chinese hemlock (Tsuga chinensis Pritz) and alpine pine (Pinus densata Mast) in a temperate-moist region of China显示文摘In the reconstruction of past climate using stable carbon isotope composition (δ13C) in tree ring,the responses of the stable carbon composition (δ13C) of multiple tree species to environmental factors must be known detailedly. This study presented two δ13C series in annual tree rings for Chinese hem-lock (Tsuga chinensis Pritz) and alpine pine (Pinus densata Mast),and investigated the relationships between climatic parameters and stable carbon discrimination (△13C) series,and evaluated the poten-tial of climatic reconstruction using △13C in both species,in a temperate-moist region of Chuanxi Pla-teau,China. The raw δ13C series of the two species was inconsistent,which may be a result of different responses caused by tree's inherent physiological differences. After removing the low-frequency ef-fects of CO2 concentration,the high-frequency (year-to-year) inter-series correlation of △13C was strong,indicating that △13C of the two tree species were controlled by common environmental conditions. The △13C series of the species were most significantly correlated with temperature and moisture stress,but in different periods and intensity between the species. During the physiological year,the impacts of temperature and moisture stress on △13C occur earlier for Chinese hemlock (previous December to February for moisture stress and February to April for temperature,respectively) than for alpine pine (March to May for moisture stress and April to July for temperature,respectively). In addition,in temperate-moist regions,the control on △13C of single climatic parameter was not strongly dominant and the op-timal multiple regressions functions just explained the 38.5% variance of the total. | 5 | Finite-Time Neural Funnel Control for Motor Servo Systems with Unknown Input Constraint显示文摘In this paper, a finite-time neural funnel control(FTNFC) scheme is proposed for motor servo systems with unknown input constraint. To deal with the non-smooth input saturation constraint problem, a smooth non-affine function of the control input signal is employed to approximate the saturation constraint, which is further transformed into an affine form according to the mean-value theorem. A fast terminal sliding mode manifold is constructed by using a novel funnel error variable to force the tracking error falling into a prescribe boundary within a finite time. Then, a simple sigmoid neural network is utilized to approximate the unknown system nonlinearity including the saturation.Different from the prescribed performance control(PPC), the proposed finite-time neural funnel control avoids using the inverse transformed function in the controller design, and could guarantee the prescribed tracking performance without knowing the saturation bounds in prior. | 6 | Climatic significance of stable carbon isotope in tree rings of Abies spectabibis in southeastern Tibet显示文摘The annually cross-dated stable carbon isotope of tree-ring a-cellulose of Abies spectabibis collected from the southeastern Tibetan Plateau is used to examine its rela-tionship with climatic parameters. The residual D13C series in treerings is constructed after removing the effects of age trend and rising CO2. We found a close relationship between D13C in tree rings and the relative humidity of September—November of the previous year measured at the nearby Ny-ingchi Meteorological Station, albeit a strong 搇agged effect? Thus we developed a transfer function to reconstruct the autumn relative humidity for the Nyingchi region, which explained 37.9% of the total variance (p < 0.001). Based on the recent research on biohydrogen production, this paper gives a brief review on the following aspects: fermentative hydrogen production process and the engineering control statagy, key factors affecting the effciency of hydrogen production, such as substrates, cysteine, metal ions, anaerobic fermentation terminal products, and formic acid and ammonia. | 11 | The dysregulated autophagy signaling is partially responsible fordefective podocyte development in wt1a mutant zebrafish显示文摘Podocytes are essential elements of the glomerular filtration barrier and relevant to many kidney diseases.But the molecular mechanism in podocyte development is still unclear.Wilms tumor protein(WT1)is an essential factor for urogenital system development.Zebrafish have two wt1 genes,naming wt1a and wt1b.Here,we examined the roles of both wt1 genes in zebrafish embryonic development employing the CRISPR/Cas9 technology.The homozygous wt1a mutants displayed developmental malformations including pericardial edema,yolk sac edema and failure of glomerulus development.Loss of wt1a function disrupted podocyte differentiation and inhibited expression of podocin and nephrin.In contrast,the homozygous wt1b mutants were phenotypically normal and had no severe phenotypes of nephrogenesis defects that were observed in wt1b morpholino knockdown embryos.Therefore,wt1a plays an essential role in kidney development,whereas wt1b might not be essential for kidney development.Interestingly,from previous studies we knew that autophagy is involved in podocyte differentiation.By detecting the protein level of P62 and LC3A/B,we found the autophagy signal was greatly reduced in wt1a mutants.To better understand the relationship between autophagy signal and wt1a function in podocyte development,rapamycin was added to activate autophagy in wt1a-mutated embryos.As a result,podocyte injury was ameliorated in wt1a homozygous mutants by rapamycin treatment.In conclusion,our findings not only confirmed the essential function of wt1a during kidney development,but also provided a possible way for treatment of diseases involving podocyte injury. | Xuemei Zhang Qiaohong Lin Fan Ren Jin Zhang Farman Ullah Dawar Jie Mei | 2018 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2018,3,3: | 2 |
| 12 | Structural isomer and high-yield of Pt1Ag28 nanoduster via one-pot chemical wet method显示文摘In order to understand the structure-property correlation and explore the application of metal nanoclusters, it is important and intriguing to determine their crystal structure and obtain high-yield. At the same time, this is also a challenge in nanoscience and technology. Here, we report the highly efficient synthesis of Pt1Ag28 nanocluster via one-pot chemical wet method. The crystal structure of Pt1Ag28 nanocluster was determined by X-ray crystallography to be a face centered cubic (FCC) kernel. This novel structure is the structural isomerization of Pt1Ag28 nanocluster reported before. This phenomenon is first discovered in the synthesis of alloy nanoclusters. In addition, Pt1Ag28 nanocluster has high yield and exhibits potential optics in the near infrared (NIR) fluorescent imaging. The time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) calculation implied that the optical property of Pt1Ag28 was sensitive to its structure.
