| 2 | Improvement of Foaming and Emulsifying Properties of Gluten by Conjugation with Fructose through Maillard Reaction显示文摘Gluten has poor emulsifying and foaming ability due to its amino acid composition. In this study, Maillard reaction was used to improve the emulsifying and foaming properties of gluten. The processing conditions for the preparation of gluten-fructose conjugates were optimized by using Box-Behnken model to achieve optimum foaming and emulsifying activity, respectively.The results showed that glycated gluten exhibited enhanced emulsifying activity compared to native control. The processing conditions for the preparation of gluten-fructose conjugates with optimum emulsifying activity were as follows: the temperature was 48℃, reaction time was 72 h, and maltose/gluten(W/W) ratio was 125%. Under such condition, the average emulsifying activity was 66.54%, being improved by about 2.5 times compared with that of native control. The Foaming properties of gluten also increased significantly by glycation modification. The optimum conditions of response were as below: the temperature was 48℃, reaction time was 66 h, and maltose/gluten ratio(W/W) was 110%. | 4 | Research progress of nanocellulose for electrochemical energy storage:A review显示文摘Recently, in response to the major challenges in energy development and environmental issues, tremendous efforts are being devoted to developing electrochemical energy storage devices based on green sustainable resources. As a class of green materials, nanocellulose(NC) has received extensive attention. In this review, we summarize the research progress of NC derived materials in electrochemical energy storage. Specifically, we first introduce various synthesis methods based on NC and the pretreatment process to increase the conductivity. Then we focus on the specific application of NC in electrochemical energy storage devices. | 5 | Effectiveness of tonifying-kidney and regulating-liver therapy on diminished ovarian reserve: a systematic review and Meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of the Traditional Chinese Medicine tonifying-kidney and regulating-liver therapy on diminished ovarian reserve(DOR).METHODS: The literature was comprehensively searched up to August 2019 using four Chinese and three English electronic databases to extract randomized clinical trials(RCTs) comparing Traditional Chinese Medicine tonifying-kidney and regulating-liver prescriptions(combined with hormone therapy or not) with Western Medicine. Data quality evaluation was conducted using the Cochrane risk of bias tool. Meta-analysis was conducted using Revman 5.3 software with effect estimates presented as mean difference(MD), risk ratio(RR), and95% confidence interval(CI).RESULTS: A total of nine RCTs with 512 participants were extracted and eligible for Meta-analysis.There were no significant differences between Chinese medicine and Western Medicine on basal serum follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH) level(MD0.11, 95% CI-0.52 to 0.74, 392 participants, seven trials), anti-Müllerian hormone level(MD 0.48, 95%CI-0.62 to 1.58, 95 participants, two trials), and the FSH and luteinizing hormone ratio(MD 0.01,95% CI-0.95 to 0.96, 115 participants, two trials).Chinese medicine was more effective at improving Traditional Chinese Medicine symptom scores(TCMSS)(MD-2.39, 95% CI-3.83 to-0.94, 160 participants, three trials), effective rate of TCMSS(RR1.18, 95% CI 1.02 to 1.36, 160 participants, three trials), antral follicle count(AFC)(MD 0.55, 95% CI 0.05 to 1.04, 155 participants, three trials), and FSH levels at 3 months post-treatment(MD-4.77, 95% CI-6.09 to-3.45, 137 participants, two trials).CONCLUSION: Compared with Western Medicine,tonifying-kidney and regulating-liver therapy is more effective at relieving symptoms and improving AFC and FSH at 3 months post-treatment. | Liu Liuqing Liu Yanfeng Yang Ming Xu Guiqin Li Ruiqi Xu Xiuli Pan Xue Liang Jialing | 2020 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2020,40,3: | 3 |
| 6 | PER2-mediated ameloblast differentiation via PPARγ/AKT1/β-catenin axis显示文摘Circadian rhythm is involved in the development and diseases of many tissues.However,as an essential environmental regulating factor,its effect on amelogenesis has not been fully elucidated.The present study aims to investigate the correlation between circadian rhythm and ameloblast differentiation and to explore the mechanism by which circadian genes regulate ameloblast differentiation.Circadian disruption models were constructed in mice for in vivo experiments.An ameloblast-lineage cell(ALC)line was used for in vitro studies.As essential molecules of the circadian system,Bmal1 and Per2 exhibited circadian expression in ALCs.Circadian disruption mice showed reduced amelogenin(AMELX)expression and enamel matrix secretion and downregulated expression of BMAL1,PER2,PPARγ,phosphorylated AKT1 andβ-catenin,cytokeratin-14 and F-actin in ameloblasts.According to previous findings and our study,BMAL1 positively regulated PER2.Therefore,the present study focused on PER2-mediated ameloblast differentiation and enamel formation.Per2 knockdown decreased the expression of AMELX,PPARγ,phosphorylated AKT1 andβ-catenin,promoted nuclearβ-catenin accumulation,inhibited mineralization and altered the subcellular localization of E-cadherin in ALCs.Overexpression of PPARγpartially reversed the above results in Per2-knockdown ALCs.Furthermore,in in vivo experiments,the length of incisor eruption was significantly decreased in the circadian disturbance group compared to that in the control group,which was rescued by using a PPARγagonist in circadian disturbance mice.In conclusion,through regulation of the PPARγ/AKT1/β-catenin signalling axis,PER2 played roles in amelogenin expression,cell junctions and arrangement,enamel matrix secretion and mineralization during ameloblast differentiation,which exert effects on enamel formation. | Wushuang Huang Xueqing Zheng Mei Yang Ruiqi Li Yaling Song | 2021 | International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,2: | 3 |
| 7 | Antibiotics-mediated intestinal microbiome perturbation aggravates tacrolimus-induced glucose disorders in mice显示文摘Both immunosuppressants and antibiotics (ABX) are indispensable for transplant patients. However, the former increases the risk of new-onset diabetes, whereas the latter impacts intestinal microbiota (IM). It is still unclear whether and how the interaction between immunosuppressants and ABX alters the IM and thus leads to glucose metabolism disorders. This study examined the alterations of glucose and lipid metabolism and IM in mice exposed to tacrolimus (TAC) with or without ABX. We found that ABX further aggravated TAC-induced glucose tolerance and increased insulin secretion. Combined treatment resulted in exacerbated lipid accumulation in the liver. TAC-altered microbial community was further amplified by ABX administration, as characterized by reductions in phylum Firmicutes, family Lachnospiraceae, and genus Copyococcus. Analyses based on the metagenomic profiles revealed that ABX augmented the effect of TAC on microbial metabolic function mostly related to lipid metabolism. The altered components of gut microbiome and predicted microbial functional profiles showed significant correlation with hepatic lipid accumulation and glucose disorders. In conclusion, ABX aggravated the effect of TAC on the microbiome and its metabolic capacities, which might contribute to hepatic lipid accumulation and glucose disorders. | 8 | Development of T. aestivum L.eH. californicum Alien Chromosome Lines and Assignment of Homoeologous Groups of Hordeum californicum Chromosomes显示文摘Hordeum californicum(2n=2x=14, HH) is resistant to several wheat diseases and tolerant to lower nitrogen. In this study, a molecular karyotype of H. californicum chromosomes in the Triticum aestivum L. cv. Chinese Spring(CS)eH. californicum amphidiploid(2n=6x=56, AABBDDHH) was established. By genomic in situ hybridization(GISH) and multicolor fluorescent in situ hybridization(FISH) using repetitive DNA clones(pTa71, pTa794 and pSc119.2) as probes, the H. californicum chromosomes could be differentiated from each other and from the wheat chromosomes unequivocally. Based on molecular karyotype and marker analyses, 12 wheatealien chromosome lines, including four disomic addition lines(DAH1, DAH3, DAH5 and DAH6), five telosomic addition lines(MtH7L,MtH1 S, MtH1 L, DtH6 S and DtH6L), one multiple addition line involving H. californicum chromosome H2, one disomic substitution line(DSH4) and one translocation line(TH7S/1BL), were identified from the progenies derived from the crosses of CSeH. californicum amphidiploid with common wheat varieties. A total of 482 EST(expressed sequence tag) or SSR(simple sequence repeat) markers specific for individual H. californicum chromosomes were identified, and 47, 50, 45, 49, 21, 51 and 40 markers were assigned to chromosomes H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6 and H7, respectively. According to the chromosome allocation of these markers, chromosomes H2,H3, H4, H5, and H7 of H. californicum have relationship with wheat homoeologous groups 5, 2, 6, 3, and 1, and hence could be designated as 5Hc, 2Hc, 6Hc, 3Hcand 1Hc, respectively. | 9 | Preparation of copolymer-grafted mixed-mode resins for immunoglobulin G adsorption显示文摘The mixed-mode resins for protein adsorption have been prepared by a novel strategy, copolymer grafting. Specially, the copolymer-grafted resins CG-MA with two functional groups, 5-amino-benzimidazole (ABI) and methacryloxyethyltrimethyl ammonium chloride (METAC), have been prepared through surfaceinitiated activator generated by electron transfer for atom transfer radical polymerization of METAC and glycidyl methacrylate (GMA), followed by a ring-open reaction to introduce ABI. The charge and hydrophobicity of CG-MA resins could be controlled by manipulating the addition of METAC and GMA/ABI. Besides, METAC and ABI provided positive effects together in both protein adsorption and elution: dynamic binding capacity of human Immunoglobulin G (hlgG) onto CG-M-A resin with the highest ligand ratio of METAC to ABI is 46.8 mg-g 1 at pH 9 and the elution recovery of hlgG is 97.0% at pH 5. | 11 | AMPK Subunit Expression Regulates Intramuscular Fat Content and Muscle Fiber Type in Chickens显示文摘The objective of this study was to assess the role of AMPK in intramuscular fat(IMF) and fiber type in chicken muscle. The chickens were slaughtered and their muscles were collected at the ages of 4, 8, and 16 weeks so as to determine the IMF contents, as well as the expression levels of AMPK subunits, regulators of adipogenesis. In addition, the myosin heavy chains(My HCs) in thigh muscle tissues were also measured. The results showed that the IMF contents in 16-week old chickens were higher than those in 4 and 8-week-old chickens(P<0.05).The expression levels of fatty acid synthase(FAS) and fatty aicd translocase CD36(FAT/CD36) m RNA were increased significantly in samples collected at the ages of4 and 16 weeks(P<0.05). The expression levels of My HC IIa and IIb differed significantly among all the developmental stages(P <0.05). The AMPKα2, AMPKγ1,and AMPKγ3 m RNA levels were dramatically decreased with the increase of age(P <0.05). To examine the role of AMPK in adipogenesis regulation, the SV cells were cultured in an adipogenesis medium and treated with AICAR and Compound C respectively, the specific activator and inhibit of AMPK. The Compound C induced dramatically a greater expression of C/EBPβ, SREBP1 and PPARγ(P <0.05). | 17 | An intravascular needle coated by ZnO nanoflowers for in vivo elimination of circulating tumor cells显示文摘Circulating tumor cells(CTCs)are recognized as the main source of tumor recurrence and metastasis.Eliminating the CTCs in peripheral blood provides a new strategy to reduce the probability of recurrence or metastasis.Here,we proposed a concept to eliminate CTCs by inserting a needle in the superficial blood vessel.Using the property of ZnO and the structure of nanoflowers,we designed a medical needle coated with ZnO nanoflowers(ZNFs),which killed about 90%of captured CTCs in vitro and prevented the injecting CTCs from spreading to lung tissue in BABL/c mouse model.Results in vitro and in vivo demonstrated that the CTCs not only were captured and killed,but also detached from the needle surface after dead,enabling the ZNFs needle continually eliminate CTCs.Furthermore,a theoretical model was presented to explain the penetration mechanism of cells by nanostructures,which indicated that nanoflowers structure can puncture CTCs more easily than vertical nanowire structure.The concept of inserting an intravascular needle provides a potential strategy to lower the concentration of CTCs in blood and reduce the probability of tumor recurrence or metastasis. | Jinqi Li Xinlei Li Yangfeng Zhang Kun Jin Ye Yuan Ruiqi Ming Yuhua Yang Tongsheng Chen | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,1: | 0 |

| 19 | The Expression of Ca N and CaMK is Associated with Lipogenesis in the Muscle of Chicken显示文摘Intramuscular fat(IMF) content in chickens significantly contributes to meat quality. The main objective of this study was to assess the expression of calcineurin(Ca N) and Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase(Ca MK) in lipogenesis in chicken muscle. The chickens were slaughtered and sampled at the ages of4, 8, and 16 weeks, respectively. IMF content and the expression of Ca N subunits and Ca MK isoforms were measured in thigh muscle tissue. The results showed that the IMF contents were higher in chickens at the age of 16 weeks compared with those in chickens at the ages of 4 and 8 weeks(P <0.05). The expression levels of fatty acid synthase(FAS) and fatty acid translocase CD36(FAT/CD36)m RNA in 16-week-old chickens were all significantly up-regulated compared with those in 4-week-old chickens(P<0.05). The m RNA levels of Ca NB and Ca MK IV in 16-week-old chickens were significantly lower than those in 4-week-old chickens(P<0.05). But the Ca MK II m RNA levels in 16-week-old chickens were significantly higher than those in 4-week-old chickens(P <0.05). To investigate the roles of Ca MK and Ca N in adipogenesis, SV cells were incubated in standard adipogenesis medium for 24 h and treated with specific inhibitor of Ca MK and Ca N. The expressions of CCAAT/enhancer binding protein β(C/EBPβ), sterol regulatory elementbinding protein 1(SREBP1) and peroxisome proliferation-activated receptor γ(PPARγ) were dramatically enhanced by Cs A and Ca N inhibitor(P <0.05). KN93,a Ca MK II inhibitor, dramatically repressed the expression of those lipogenic genes(P<0.05). | 20 | Application of Microteaching Combined with Problem-Based Learning(PBL)Teaching Model in Teaching Clinical Nursing Interns in Otorhinolaryngology Department显示文摘Objective:To explore the application effect of microteaching combined with problem-based learning(PBL)teaching mode in teaching clinical nursing interns in otorhinolaryngology department.Methods:A total of 72 nursing students who interned in our hospital from June 2022 to February 2023 were selected,and all of them were comprehensively trained in basic theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills before the beginning of their learning tasks.The students were randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group,with 36 students in each group.The control group was taught using the traditional clinical nursing teaching mode,and the experimental group was taught using microteaching combined with the PBL teaching mode,subsequently comparing the differences between the two groups of interns in the degree of mastery of theoretical knowledge,hands-on skills,teamwork ability,patient satisfaction,and other aspects.Results:In terms of mastery of theoretical knowledge,the interns in the experimental group(97.22%)were significantly better than that of the control group(75.00%)(P<0.05);the interns in the experimental group had significantly better practical skills(77.78%)than that of the control group(55.56%)(P<0.05);the interns in the experimental group had significantly better teamwork ability than the control group(P<0.05);through the questionnaire survey,it was found that students’satisfaction with teaching in the experimental group(97.22%)was also significantly higher than that in the control group(75.00%)(P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of microteaching combined with PBL teaching mode in the teaching of clinical nursing interns in otorhinolaryngology department achieved significant results.It can not only improve the professional knowledge and application ability of nursing students,but also cultivate their independent thinking,problem-solving skill,as well as teamwork ability.It can also improve the teaching quality and patient satisfaction,and contribute positively to the development of medical education. | Xiaorong Yang Juan Yao Tingting Jiang Ruiqi Li | 2023 | Journal of Contemporary Educational Research2023,7,11: | 0 |
