3Biomass-derived porous carbon highly efficient for removal of Pb(Ⅱ) and Cd(Ⅱ)显示文摘The utilization of abundant and renewable biomass to fabricate advanced functional materials is considered a promising route for environmental applications.Herein,Lignin-based porous carbon with layered graphene-like structure(LPC)is successfully synthesized and applied to efficiently remove Pb(Ⅱ)and Cd(Ⅱ).The as-synthesized LPC materials are systematically characterized and these results show that LPC has a porous graphene-like structure,facilitating the diffusion and immobilization of heavy metal ions.The influence of different reaction parameters(solution pH,initial concentration of metal ions,contact time and adsorbent amount)on the adsorption performance is investigated in details.The results demonstrate that LPC can achieve superior adsorption capacities of 250.5 mg·g^-1 for Pb(Ⅱ)and 126.4 mg·g^-1 for Cd(Ⅱ),which are far superior to the previously reported adsorbents.Pseudo-second order kinetics model and Freundlich isotherm model describe the adsorption process well.Furthermore,the exhausted LPC can be regenerated easily and exhibits the removal efficiency of 96%and 92%for Pb(Ⅱ)and Cd(Ⅱ)after five continuous runs,respectively.This study shows a sustainable strategy for the design of porous carbon material from na?ve biomass and highlights the great potential in wastewater treatment.Anqi Wang Zhikeng Zheng Ruiqi Li Di Hu Yiran Lu Huixia Luo Kai Yan 2019Green Energy & Environment2019,4,4:10
4Improvement of Foaming and Emulsifying Properties of Gluten by Conjugation with Fructose through Maillard Reaction显示文摘Gluten has poor emulsifying and foaming ability due to its amino acid composition. In this study, Maillard reaction was used to improve the emulsifying and foaming properties of gluten. The processing conditions for the preparation of gluten-fructose conjugates were optimized by using Box-Behnken model to achieve optimum foaming and emulsifying activity, respectively.The results showed that glycated gluten exhibited enhanced emulsifying activity compared to native control. The processing conditions for the preparation of gluten-fructose conjugates with optimum emulsifying activity were as follows: the temperature was 48℃, reaction time was 72 h, and maltose/gluten(W/W) ratio was 125%. Under such condition, the average emulsifying activity was 66.54%, being improved by about 2.5 times compared with that of native control. The Foaming properties of gluten also increased significantly by glycation modification. The optimum conditions of response were as below: the temperature was 48℃, reaction time was 66 h, and maltose/gluten ratio(W/W) was 110%. 5Identifying changes in the wheat kernel proteome under heat stress using iTRAQ显示文摘Wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) is one of the three major global food crops. Hightemperature stress can affect its yield and quality. Studies of the effect of hightemperature stress on wheat kernel development are important because they can reveal the stability of wheat quality and lead to the genetic improvement of wheat quality traits. In this study, the isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation(iTRAQ)method was adopted to analyze changes in the protein expression profile of wheat cultivars under high temperature stress. The protein content of wheat grain increased under heat stress, while the SDS-sedimentation value and starch content decreased.Grain filling was deficient under high temperature stress, which reduced thousandkernel weight but did not affect wheat kernel length. The 207 differentially expressed proteins identified in Gaocheng 8901 under heat stress were associated with energy metabolism, growth and development, and stress response. Gene Ontology enrichment analysis showed that the annotated proteins that were differentially expressed in Gaocheng 8901 under heat stress were involved mainly in stimulus response, abiotic stress response, stress response, and plasma membrane. A set of 78 differentially expressed proteins were assigned to 83 KEGG signaling/metabolic pathways. KEGG pathway enrichment analysis showed that this set of proteins was significantly enriched in members of 51 pathways, and the proteins participated mainly in protein synthesis in the endoplasmic reticulum, starch and sucrose metabolism, and reaction on ribosomes. Five differentially expressed proteins were involved in protein–protein interaction networks that may greatly influence the yield and quality of wheat grain. 6Severe human infection with a novel avian-origin influenza A(H7N4) virus显示文摘Human infections with influenza H7 subtypes, such as H7N9, have raised concerns worldwide. Here, we report a human infection with a novel influenza A(H7N4) virus. A 68 years-old woman with cardiovascular and cholecystic comorbidities developed rapidly progressed pneumonia with influenza-like-illness as initial symptom, recovered after 23 days-hospitalization including 8 days in ICU. Laboratory indicators for liver and blood coagulation dysfunction were observed. Oseltamivir phosphate, glucocorticoids and antibiotics were jointly implemented, with nasal catheterization of oxygen inhalation for this patient.We obtained the medical records and collected serial respiratory and blood specimens from her. We collected throat, cloacal and/or feces samples of poultry and wild birds from the patient's backyard, neighborhood, local live poultry markets(LPMs) and the nearest lake. All close contacts of the patient were followed up and sampled with throat swabs and sera. Influenza viruses and other respiratory pathogens were tested by real-time RT-PCR, viral culturing and/or sequencing for human respiratory and bird samples. Micro-neutralizing assay was performed for sera. A novel reassortant wild bird-origin H7N4 virus is identified from the patient and her backyard poultry(chickens and ducks) by sequencing, which is distinct from previously-reported avian H7N4 and H7N9 viruses. At least four folds increase of neutralizing antibodies to H7N4 was detected in her convalescent sera. 8Effectiveness of tonifying-kidney and regulating-liver therapy on diminished ovarian reserve: a systematic review and Meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of the Traditional Chinese Medicine tonifying-kidney and regulating-liver therapy on diminished ovarian reserve(DOR).METHODS: The literature was comprehensively searched up to August 2019 using four Chinese and three English electronic databases to extract randomized clinical trials(RCTs) comparing Traditional Chinese Medicine tonifying-kidney and regulating-liver prescriptions(combined with hormone therapy or not) with Western Medicine. Data quality evaluation was conducted using the Cochrane risk of bias tool. Meta-analysis was conducted using Revman 5.3 software with effect estimates presented as mean difference(MD), risk ratio(RR), and95% confidence interval(CI).RESULTS: A total of nine RCTs with 512 participants were extracted and eligible for Meta-analysis.There were no significant differences between Chinese medicine and Western Medicine on basal serum follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH) level(MD0.11, 95% CI-0.52 to 0.74, 392 participants, seven trials), anti-Müllerian hormone level(MD 0.48, 95%CI-0.62 to 1.58, 95 participants, two trials), and the FSH and luteinizing hormone ratio(MD 0.01,95% CI-0.95 to 0.96, 115 participants, two trials).Chinese medicine was more effective at improving Traditional Chinese Medicine symptom scores(TCMSS)(MD-2.39, 95% CI-3.83 to-0.94, 160 participants, three trials), effective rate of TCMSS(RR1.18, 95% CI 1.02 to 1.36, 160 participants, three trials), antral follicle count(AFC)(MD 0.55, 95% CI 0.05 to 1.04, 155 participants, three trials), and FSH levels at 3 months post-treatment(MD-4.77, 95% CI-6.09 to-3.45, 137 participants, two trials).CONCLUSION: Compared with Western Medicine,tonifying-kidney and regulating-liver therapy is more effective at relieving symptoms and improving AFC and FSH at 3 months post-treatment.Liu Liuqing Liu Yanfeng Yang Ming Xu Guiqin Li Ruiqi Xu Xiuli Pan Xue Liang Jialing 2020Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2020,40,3:3
9PER2-mediated ameloblast differentiation via PPARγ/AKT1/β-catenin axis显示文摘Circadian rhythm is involved in the development and diseases of many tissues.However,as an essential environmental regulating factor,its effect on amelogenesis has not been fully elucidated.The present study aims to investigate the correlation between circadian rhythm and ameloblast differentiation and to explore the mechanism by which circadian genes regulate ameloblast differentiation.Circadian disruption models were constructed in mice for in vivo experiments.An ameloblast-lineage cell(ALC)line was used for in vitro studies.As essential molecules of the circadian system,Bmal1 and Per2 exhibited circadian expression in ALCs.Circadian disruption mice showed reduced amelogenin(AMELX)expression and enamel matrix secretion and downregulated expression of BMAL1,PER2,PPARγ,phosphorylated AKT1 andβ-catenin,cytokeratin-14 and F-actin in ameloblasts.According to previous findings and our study,BMAL1 positively regulated PER2.Therefore,the present study focused on PER2-mediated ameloblast differentiation and enamel formation.Per2 knockdown decreased the expression of AMELX,PPARγ,phosphorylated AKT1 andβ-catenin,promoted nuclearβ-catenin accumulation,inhibited mineralization and altered the subcellular localization of E-cadherin in ALCs.Overexpression of PPARγpartially reversed the above results in Per2-knockdown ALCs.Furthermore,in in vivo experiments,the length of incisor eruption was significantly decreased in the circadian disturbance group compared to that in the control group,which was rescued by using a PPARγagonist in circadian disturbance mice.In conclusion,through regulation of the PPARγ/AKT1/β-catenin signalling axis,PER2 played roles in amelogenin expression,cell junctions and arrangement,enamel matrix secretion and mineralization during ameloblast differentiation,which exert effects on enamel formation.Wushuang Huang Xueqing Zheng Mei Yang Ruiqi Li Yaling Song 2021International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,2:3
10Antibiotics-mediated intestinal microbiome perturbation aggravates tacrolimus-induced glucose disorders in mice显示文摘Both immunosuppressants and antibiotics (ABX) are indispensable for transplant patients. However, the former increases the risk of new-onset diabetes, whereas the latter impacts intestinal microbiota (IM). It is still unclear whether and how the interaction between immunosuppressants and ABX alters the IM and thus leads to glucose metabolism disorders. This study examined the alterations of glucose and lipid metabolism and IM in mice exposed to tacrolimus (TAC) with or without ABX. We found that ABX further aggravated TAC-induced glucose tolerance and increased insulin secretion. Combined treatment resulted in exacerbated lipid accumulation in the liver. TAC-altered microbial community was further amplified by ABX administration, as characterized by reductions in phylum Firmicutes, family Lachnospiraceae, and genus Copyococcus. Analyses based on the metagenomic profiles revealed that ABX augmented the effect of TAC on microbial metabolic function mostly related to lipid metabolism. The altered components of gut microbiome and predicted microbial functional profiles showed significant correlation with hepatic lipid accumulation and glucose disorders. In conclusion, ABX aggravated the effect of TAC on the microbiome and its metabolic capacities, which might contribute to hepatic lipid accumulation and glucose disorders. 11FLT3 tyrosine kinase inhibitors synergize with BCL-2 inhibition to eliminate FLT3/ITD acute leukemia cells through BIM activation显示文摘Tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs)targeting FLT3 have shown activity but when used alone have achieved limited success in clinical trials,suggesting the need for combination with other drugs.We investigated the combination of FLT3 TKIs(Gilteritinib or Sorafenib),with Venetodax,a BCL-2 selective inhibitor(BCL-2i),on FLT3/ITD leukemia cells.The combination of a FLT3 TKI and a BCL-2i synergistically reduced cell proliferation and enhanced apoptosis/cell death in FLT3/ITD cell lines and primary AML samples.Venetoclax also re-sensitized FLT3 TKI-resistant cells to Gilteritinib or Sorafenib treatment,mediated through MAPK pathway inhibition.Gilteritinib treatment alone dissociated BIM from MCL-1 but increased the binding of BIM to BCL-2.Venetoclax treatment enhanced the binding of BIM to MCL-1 but dissociated BIM from BCL-2.Treatment with the drugs together resulted in dissociation of BIM from both BCL-2 and MCL-1,with an increased binding of BIM to the cell death mediator BAX,leading to increased apoptosis.These findings suggest that Venetoclax mitigates the unintended pro-survival effects of FLT3 TKI mainly through the dissociation of BIM and BCL-2 and also decreased BIM expression.This study provides evidence that the addition of BCL-2i enhances the effect of FLT3 TKI therapy in FLT3/ITD AML treatment.Ruiqi Zhu Li Li Bao Nguyen Jaesung Seo Min Wu Tessa Seale Mark Levis Amy Duffield Yu Hu Donald Small 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,6:2
12Revealing Spatial Spillover Effect in High-Tech Industry Agglomeration from a High-Skilled Labor Flow Network Perspective显示文摘Understanding the high-tech industrial agglomeration from a spatial-spillover perspective is essential for cities to gain economic and technological competitive advantages.Along with rapid urbanization and the development of fast transportation networks,socioeconomic interactions between cities have been ever-increasing,traditional spatial metrics are not enough to describe actual inter-city connections.High-skilled labor flow between cities strongly influences the high-tech industrial agglomeration,yet receives less attention.By exploiting unique large-scale datasets and tools from complex network and data mining,the authors construct an inter-city high-skilled labor flow network,which was integrated into spatial econometric models.The regression results indicate that spatial-spillover effects exist in the development of high-tech industries in the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration region.Moreover,the spatial-spillover effects are stronger among cities with a higher volume of high-skilled labor flows than among cities with just stronger geographic connections.Additionally,the authors investigate the channels for the spillover effects and discover that inadequate local government expenses on science and technology likely hamper the high-tech industrial agglomeration,so does the inadequate local educational provision.The increasing foreign direct investments in one city likely encourages the high-tech industrial agglomeration in other cities because of the policy inertia toward traditional industries.WANG Chen WANG Lu XUE Yanbo LI Ruiqi 2022Journal of Systems Science & Complexity2022,35,3:2
13Deep learning for non-parameterized MEMS structural design显示文摘The geometric designs of MEMS devices can profoundly impact their physical properties and eventual performances.However,it is challenging for researchers to rationally consider a large number of possible designs,as it would be very time-and resource-consuming to study all these cases using numerical simulation.In this paper,we report the use of deep learning techniques to accelerate the MEMS design cycle by quickly and accurately predicting the physical properties of numerous design candidates with vastly different geometric features.Design candidates are represented in a nonparameterized,topologically unconstrained form using pixelated black-and-white images.After sufficient training,a deep neural network can quickly calculate the physical properties of interest with good accuracy without using conventional numerical tools such as finite element analysis.As an example,we apply our deep learning approach in the prediction of the modal frequency and quality factor of disk-shaped microscale resonators.With reasonable training,our deep learning neural network becomes a high-speed,high-accuracy calculator:it can identify the flexural mode frequency and the quality factor 4.6×10^(3)times and 2.6×10^(4)times faster,respectively,than conventional numerical simulation packages,with good accuracies of 98.8±1.6%and 96.8±3.1%,respectively.When simultaneously predicting the frequency and the quality factor,up to~96.0%of the total computation time can be saved during the design process.The proposed technique can rapidly screen over thousands of design candidates and promotes experience-free and data-driven MEMS structural designs.Ruiqi Guo Fanping Sui Wei Yue Zekai Wang Sedat Pala Kunying Li Renxiao Xu Liwei Lin 2022Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,4:2
14The C/EBPβ-Dependent Induction of TFDP2 Facilitates Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus Proliferation显示文摘Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome(PRRS) is an important infectious disease caused by porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus(PRRSV), leading to significant economic losses in swine industry worldwide. Although several studies have shown that PRRSV can affect the cell cycle of infected cells, it is still unclear how it manipulates the cell cycle to facilitate its proliferation. In this study, we analyzed the mRNA expression profiles of transcription factors in PRRSV-infected 3D4/21 cells by RNA-sequencing. The result shows that the expression of transcription factor DP2(TFDP2) is remarkably upregulated in PRRSV-infected cells. Further studies show that TFDP2 contributes to PRRSV proliferation and the PRRSV nucleocapsid(N) protein induces TFDP2 expression by activating C/EBPb. TFDP2 positively regulates cyclin A expression and triggers a less proportion of cells in the S phase, which contributes to PRRSV proliferation. This study proposes a novel mechanism by which PRRSV utilizes host protein to regulate the cell cycle to favor its infection. 15Encapsulation of ultrafine Pd nanoparticles within the shallow layers of UiO-67 for highly efficient hydrogenation reactions显示文摘Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)have been used to encapsulate active metal nanoparticles(MNPs)to fabricate MNPs@MOFs composites with high catalytic efficiencies.However,the diffusion of reactants and the accessibility of MNPs located in the center of MOFs may be hindered due to the inherent microporous structures of MOFs,which would affect the catalytic activities of MNPs.Herein,we report a solvent assisted ligand exchange-hydrogen reduction(SALE-HR)strategy to selectively encapsulate ultrafine MNPs(Pd or Pt)within the shallow layers of a MOF,i.e.,UiO-67.The particle sizes of the encapsulated MNPs and the thickness of the MNPs-embedded layers can be adjusted easily by controlling the SALE conditions(e.g.time and temperature).Crucially,the LE-Pd@UiO-80-0.5 composite with the thinnest Pd-embedded layers displays remarkable catalytic efficiency with a high turnover frequency(TOF)value of 600 h^-1towards hydrogenation of nitrobenzene under 1 atm H_2at room temperature.The results indicate that the catalytic efficiency and the utilization of MNPs can be enhanced by compactly encapsulating MNPs within the shallow layers of MOFs as close to their outer surfaces as possible,owing to the short masstransfer distance and enhanced accessibility of overall MNPs.Zhiming Cui Ting Fan Liyu Chen Ruiqi Fang Chuanmao Li Yingwei Li 2021Science China Chemistry2021,64,1:1

19Learning Universal Network Representation via Link Prediction by Graph Convolutional Neural Network显示文摘Network representation learning algorithms,which aim at automatically encoding graphs into low-dimensional vector representations with a variety of node similarity definitions,have a wide range of downstream applications.Most existing methods either have low accuracies in downstream tasks or a very limited application field,such as article classification in citation networks.In this paper,we propose a novel network representation method,named Link Prediction based Network Representation(LPNR),which generalizes the latest graph neural network and optimizes a carefully designed objective function that preserves linkage structures.LPNR can not only learn meaningful node representations that achieve competitive accuracy in node centrality measurement and community detection but also achieve high accuracy in the link prediction task.Experiments prove the effectiveness of LPNR on three real-world networks.With the mini-batch and fixed sampling strategy,LPNR can learn the embedding of large graphs in a few hours.Weiwei Gu Fei Gao Ruiqi Li Jiang Zhang 2021Journal of Social Computing2021,2,1:1
