2High levels of circulating GM-CSF^(+) CD4^(+) T cells are predictive of poor outcomes in sepsis patients: a prospective cohort study显示文摘Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(GM-CSF),produced by CD4^(+)T cells,has recently been implicated in the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases,such as multiple sclerosis and juvenile arthritis.However,the role of GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells in sepsis remains unknown.This study reports peripheral changes in GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells in septic patients and the possible underlying mechanism by which GM-CSF influences the outcome of sepsis.Forty-three septic patients,20 SIRS patients,and 20 healthy controls were enrolled in this study and followed for 28 days to assess mortality.We measured the peripheral frequency of GM-CSF^(+)CD4^(+)T cells and recorded their associated relationship with disease progression.Our data demonstrated that peripheral GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells were significantly higher in septic patients than in both SIRS patients and healthy controls.These cells exhibit a memory phenotype and impaired IFN-γ-secreting capacity in sepsis patients.Using a receiver operating curve analysis with 8.01%as a cut-off point,the percentage of GM-CSF^(+)CD4^(+)T cells could predict the outcome of septic patients.Combined with the increase in GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells,inflammatory cytokines IL-1βand IL-6 were also upregulated.Using an in vitro neutrophil model,we found that GM-CSF inhibited C3aR expression,while inducing IL-8 production.Furthermore,this effect was transferrable in plasma from sepsis patients and was attenuated by inhibition of GM-CSF using an anti-GM-CSF antibody.These results indicate that GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells may serve as a marker of sepsis severity.Thus,targeting GM-CSF overproduction may benefit sepsis patients.Huihuang Huang Siyu Wang Tianjun Jiang Rong Fan Zheng Zhang Jinsong Mu Ke Li Yonggang Wang Lei Jin Fang Lin Jie Xia Lijian Sun Biao Xu Chengcheng Ji Jing Chen Juan Chang Bo Tu Bing Song Chao Zhang Fu-Sheng Wang Ruonan Xu 2019Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,6:6
3江苏省2000–2017年农业源氨气排放年际趋势估算显示文摘氨气是大气中的微量碱性气体,可以与酸性气体二氧化硫和氮氧化物的氧化产物发生化学反应,生成硫酸铵和硝酸铵等二次颗粒物。大量氨存在会加速细颗粒物的生成速率,在霾污染的形成过程中具有重要作用。畜禽养殖和氮肥施用是氨排放清单中最主要的两个排放源。江苏省农业源氨排放量居于国家大气污染防治重点区域各省市第一。本文利用排放因子法对2000–2017年江苏省农业源氨排放进行了估算,研究江苏省18年来氨排放的特征及变化趋势。结果表明,2000–2017年江苏省农业源氨排放平均78.08%来源于畜禽养殖, 21.92%来源于氮肥施用,并且排放趋势呈现波动式变化。2000–2012年氨排放呈现先降低后增加的趋势, 2007年出现最小氨排放为708.76 kt yr-1, 2012年出现最大氨排放为837.64 kt yr-1。2012–2017年呈现下降趋势, 2017年农业源氨排放为690.64 kt yr-1。本文对年际变化趋势进行了详细的估计,并提出了可能的应对措施,将为江苏省开展氨气排放控制提供科学基础。HUANG Jiayu XIONG Ruonan FANG Li LI Tianling SHEN Weishou 2020Atmospheric and Oceanic Science Letters2020,13,3:2
4Tomato SIBL4 plays an important role in fruit pedicel organogenesis and abscission显示文摘Abscission,a cell separation process,is an important trait that in fluences grain and fruit yield.We previously reported that BEL1-LIKE HOMEODOMAIN 4(SIBL4)is involved in chloroplast development and cell wall metabolism in tomato fruit.In the present study,we showed that silencing SIBL4 resulted in the enlargement and pre-abscission of the tomato(Solanum lycopersicum cv.Micro-TOM)fruit pedicel.The anatomic analysis showed the presence of more epidermal cell layers and no obvious abscission zone(AZ)in the SlBL4 RNAi lines compared with the wild-type plants.RNA-seq analysis indicated that the regulation of abscission by SlBL4 was associated with the altered abundance of genes related to key meristems,auxin transporters,signaling components,and cell wall metabolism.Furthermore,SlBL4 positively affected the auxin concentration in the abscission zone.A dual-luciferase reporter assay revealed that SlBL4 activated the transcription of the JOINTLESS,OVATE,PIN1,and LAX3 genes.We reported a novel function ofSlBL4,which plays key roles in fruit pedicel organogenesis and abscission in tomatoes.Fang Yan Zhehao Gong Guojian Hu Xuesong Ma Runyao Bai Ruonan Yu Qiang Zhang Wei Deng Zhengguo Li Hada Wuriyanghan 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:1

6Coastal mudflats as reservoirs of extracellular antibiotic resistance genes: Studies in Eastern China显示文摘Despite coastal mudflats serving as essential ecological zones interconnecting terrestrial/freshwater and marine systems,little is known about the profiles of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)in this area.In this study,characteristics of typical ARGs,involving both intracellular(iARGs)and extracellular ARGs(eARGs)at different physical states,were explored in over 1000 km of coastal mudflats in Eastern China.Results indicated the presence of iARGs and eARGs at states of both freely present or attached by particles.The abundance of eARGs was significantly higher than that of iARGs(87.3%vs 12.7%),and their dominance was more significant than those in other habitats(52.7%-76.3%).ARG abundance,especially for eARGs,showed an increasing trend(p<0.05)from southern(Nantong)to northern(Lianyungang)coastalmudflats.Higher salinity facilitated the transformation from iARGs to eARGs,and smaller soil particle size was conducive to the persistence of eARGs in northern coastal mudflats.This study addresses the neglected function of coastal mudflats as eARGs reservoirs.Qingbin Yuan Xiaolin Wang Hui Fang Yuan Cheng Ruonan Sun Yi Luo 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,7:0
7Notum protects against myocardial infarction-induced heart dysfunction by alleviating cardiac fibrosis显示文摘Background and Objective:Cardiac fibrosis is a pathological reparative process that follows myocardial infarctionand is associated with compromised cardiac systolic and reduced cardiac compliance.The Wnt signaling pathway is closely implicated in organ fibrosis,and Notum,a highly conserved secreted inhibitor,modulates Wnt signaling.The objective of this study was to explore the role and mechanism of Notum in cardiac fibrosis.Methods:A mouse model of cardiac remodeling was established through left coronary artery ligation surgery,with the addition of Notum injection following myocardial infarction surgery.The protective effect of Notum on myocardial infarction was assessed by evaluating cardiac function,including survival rate,echocardiographic assessment,and cardiac contraction analyses.Inflammatory cell necrosis and infiltration were confirmed through H&E and Masson staining.The expression of fibrosis-related genes andβ-catenin pathway markers was detected using Western blot quantificational RT-PCR(qRT-PCR).Additionally,EdU,wound healing,and immunofluorescence staining analyses were performed to detect the effect of Notum's in transforming growth factor beta-1(TGF-β1)induced myofibroblast transformation.Results:The administration of Notum treatment resulted in enhanced survival rates,improved cardiac function,and decreased necrosis and infiltration of inflammatory cells in mice subjected to left coronary artery ligation.Furthermore,Notum effectively impeded the senescence of cardiac fibroblasts and hindered their pathological transformation into cardiac fibroblasts.Additionally,it significantly reduced collagen production and attenuated the activation of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway.Our preliminary investigations successfully demonstrated the therapeutic potential of Notum in both fibroblasts in vitro and in a mouse model of myocardial infarction-induced cardiac fibrosis in vivo.Conclusion:Notum inhibition of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway and cardiac fibroblast senescence ultimately hampers the onset of cardiac fibrosis.Our findings suggest that Notum could represent a new therapeutic strategy for the treatment of cardiac fibrosis.Tongzhu Jin Zhen Ye Ruonan Fang Yue Li Wei Su Qianqian Wang Tianyu Li Hongli Shan Yanjie Lu Haihai Liang 2024Frigid Zone Medicine2024,4,1:0
8Measurement and Characteristics of the Integration of China’s Trade in Services into Digital Global Value Chain显示文摘In this paper,the characteristics of digital trade in services of China are measured and revealed from the perspective of digitalization of trade in services.A digital global value chain is constructed and comprehensively analyzed at the three levels of path decomposition,two-way digital connection and bilateral connection.The study finds that the digital added value of China’s services driven by domestic demand outweighs that driven by foreign demand,and most countries engage in digital trade in services with China through simple participation;the role of China’s services in the digital global value chain is shifting from“digital value input”to“digital value output”,but its relative position is still low;China’s dependence on the import of digital intermediate products from developed countries has been significantly reduced,and the country has become the main source of digital intermediate imports for most countries,acting as a“hub”in the digital global value chain.This study comprehensively evaluates the strategic positioning and paths of integrating China’s services into the digital global value chain in multiple dimensions under the unifi ed accounting framework.It provides the reference for further improving the statistics accounting framework of China’s digital trade and promoting the high-quality development of the digital economy.Yanfang Lv Ruonan Fang Dong Wang 2021China Finance and Economic Review2021,10,1:0
9Federated selective aggregation for on-device knowledge amalgamation显示文摘In the current work,we explored a new knowledge amalgama-tion problem,termed Federated Selective Aggregation for on-device knowledge amalgamation(FedSA).FedSA aims to train an on-device student model for a new task with the help of several decentralized teachers whose pre-training tasks and data are different and agnos-tic.The motivation to investigate such a problem setup stems from a recent dilemma of model sharing.Due to privacy,security or in-tellectual property issues,the pre-trained models are,however,not able to be shared,and the resources of devices are usually limited.The proposed FedSA offers a solution to this dilemma and makes it one step further,again,the method can be employed on low-power and resource-limited devices.To this end,a dedicated strategy was proposed to handle the knowledge amalgamation.Specifically,the student-training process in the current work was driven by a novel saliency-based approach which adaptively selects teachers as the par-ticipants and integrated their representative capabilities into the stu-dent.To evaluate the effectiveness of FedSA,experiments on both single-task and multi-task settings were conducted.The experimental results demonstrate that FedSA could effectively amalgamate knowl-edge from decentralized models and achieve competitive performance to centralized baselines.Donglin Xie Ruonan Yu Gongfan Fang Jiaqi Han Jie Song Zunlei Feng Li Sun Mingli Song 2023Chip2023,2,3:0
