| 1 | Primary hepatic epithelioid angiomyolipoma: A malignant potential tumor which should be recognized显示文摘AIM: To improve the clinical diagnosis and recognition of hepatic epithelioid angiomyolipoma(HEAML).METHODS: Four cases of primary HEAML were confirmed based on the pathology archive system in our hospital from January 2009 to November 2015. The general state, clinical symptoms, imaging manifestations, histological results and immunohistochemistry of these patients were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed. Studies of HEAML published in the last 15 years were collected from Pub Med and MEDLINE to summarize the clinical symptoms, imaging characteristics, pathological features and management of HEAML.RESULTS: Four cases of primary HEAML were retrieved from our archives. These included three female patients and one male patient, with a mean age of 41.8 ± 11.5 years(ranging from 31 to 56 years). The meantumor size was 7.3 ± 5.5 cm(ranging from 3.0 to 15 cm). In the contrast-enhanced imaging, the tumor was obviously enhanced in the arterial phase, but enhanced continuously or exhibited a slow-density masse during the venous and delayed phases. Histologically, the tumors mainly consisted of epithelioid cells that comprised approximately 95% of the total neoplastic mass. Although no metastases occurred in our patients, pathological studies revealed necrosis, mitotic figures and liver invasion in two patients, which indicates aggressive behavior. Immunohistochemical staining revealed that human melanoma black 45(HMB-45) and Melan-A were positive in 4 cases. We only identified 81 cases with primary HEAML, including our present patients, from 26 articles available from Pub Med and MEDLINE. The majority of the papers were published as case reports. Only 5(5/75, 6%) cases were associated with tuberous sclerosis complex(TSC). More than half(35/66) were discovered incidentally upon physical examination. Approximately 65%(22/34) of the patients were misdiagnosed with HCC or other tumors before surgery. Approximately 10%(8/81) of the patients with HEAML had recurrence or metastasis after surgery, which was a very high and alarming rate.CONCLUSION: HEAML is a very rare primary hepatic tumor that is often misdiagnosed before surgery. | 4 | miR-93-5p Transferred by Exosomes Promotes the Proliferation of Esophageal Cancer Cells via Intercellular Communication by Targeting PTEN显示文摘Objective To investigate the relationship between plasma miR-93-5p and the risk of esophageal cancer, as well as the influence of miR-93-5p on the biological function of esophageal cancer cells,exerted through exosomes.Methods The expression of plasma miR-93-5p in esophageal cancer patients and healthy controls was analysed by real-time quantitative PCR. The influence of miR-93-5p on the risk and prognosis of esophageal carcinoma was analyzed by conditional logistic regression and survival analysis. The effect of miR-93-5p on the biological function of recipient cells was investigated by establishing an in vitro donor cell co-culture model. The coarse-grained region of the heat-affected zone consists of predominantly bainite and a small proportion of acicular ferrite. Bainite packets are separated by high angle boundaries. Acicular ferrite laths or plates in the coarse-grained region of the heat-affected zone formed prior to bainite packets partition austenite grains into many smaller and separate areas, resulting in fine-grained mixed microstructures. | 9 | Ni/MgO catalyst prepared using atmospheric high-frequency discharge plasma for CO_2 reforming of methane显示文摘A new type of Ni/MgO catalyst was prepared using atmospheric high-frequency discharge cold plasma. The influences of conventional method, plasma method, and plasma plus calcination method on the catalytic activity were studied and the CO2 reforming of methane was chosen as the probe reaction. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and CO2 temperature-programmed surface reaction techniques. The results suggested that the nickel-based catalyst prepared by plasma plus calcination method possessed a smaller particle size and a higher dispersion of active component, better low-temperature activity and enhanced anti-coking ability. | 10 | Standard Protocol Items for Clinical Trials with Traditional Chinese Medicine 2018: Recommendations, Explanation and Elaboration(SPIRIT-TCM Extension 2018)显示文摘Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) is one of the oldest systems of medicine. More and more attention has been paid to TCM application, but the variable quality of clinical trials with TCM impedes its widespread acceptance. The Standard Protocol Items: Recommendations for Interventional Trials(SPIRIT) 2013 Statement has established guidelines for designing clinical trials to ensure that the trial results are accurate and reliable. However, there are difficulties when applying SPIRIT 2013 Statement to trials with TCM, due to the unique theory and the characteristic of TCM intervention. An Extension to the original SPIRIT was developed to ensure the quality of trial design with TCM. As Chinese herbal formulae, acupuncture and moxibustion are common and representative interventions in TCM practice, the executive working group determined that the SPIRIT-TCM Extension focus on these three interventions. Extension was developed through initiation, 3 rounds of Delphi consensus survey, and finalizing expert meeting. Seven items from the SPIRIT 2013 Statement were modified, namely, 'title', 'background and rationale', 'objectives', 'eligibility criteria', 'interventions', 'outcomes', and 'data collection methods'. The Extension includes the introduction of the concept of TCM pattern and 3 major TCM interventions, with examples and explanations. The SPIRIT-TCM Extension 2018 provides suggestion for investigators in designing high quality TCM clinical trials. | 15 | Pig macrophages with site-specific edited CD163 decrease the susceptibility to infection with porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus显示文摘Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome(PRRS)is recognized as one of the most infectious viral diseases of swine.Although Cluster of differentiation 163(CD163)is identified as an essential receptor for mediating PRRS virus(PRRSV)infection,the important residues involved in infection on CD163 are still unclear.Therefore,it is very important to identify these key residues to study the mechanism of PRRSV infection and to generate anti-PRRSV pigs.In this study,we first generated immortalized porcine alveolar macrophage(IPAM)cell lines harboring 40-residues(residues 523-562,including R561(arginine(R)at position 561))deletion of CD163.PRRSV infection experiments showed that these IPAM cell lines were completely resistant to PRRSV infection.We then generated cloned pigs carrying CD163-R561A(an arginine(R)to alanine(A)substitution at position 561 of CD163).PRRSV challenge experiments in porcine alveolar macrophages(PAMs)isolated from the CD163-R561A pigs showed significantly lower susceptibility to PRRSV than that of CD163-R561 PAMs.Through this study,we show that CD163523-562 contains essential residues for mediating PRRSV infection,and that CD163 R561 significantly contributes to PRRSV infection but is not essential for infection.These functional sites can therefore serve as new targets for understanding the mechanism of PRRSV infection.Furthermore,CD163-R561A pigs can be used as an important model for improving pig germplasm with resistance against PRRSV. | XU Kui ZHOU Yan-rong SHANG Hai-tao XU Chang-jiang TAO Ran HAO Wan-jun LIU Sha-sha MU Yu-lian XIAO Shao-bo LI Kui | 2023 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2023,22,7: | 1 |
