| 3 | New vacuum solar telescope and observations with high resolution显示文摘The New Vacuum Solar Telescope(NVST) is a one meter vacuum solar telescope that aims to observe fine structures on the Sun. The main goals of NVST are high resolution imaging and spectral observations, including measurements of the solar magnetic field. NVST is the primary ground-based facility used by the Chinese solar research community in this solar cycle. It is located by Fuxian Lake in southwest China, where the seeing is good enough to perform high resolution observations. We first introduce the general conditions at the Fuxian Solar Observatory and the primary science cases of NVST. Then, the basic structures of this telescope and instruments are described in detail. | 4 | Fast track clinical pathway implications in esophagogastrectomy显示文摘AIM:To investigate the feasibility of fast track clinical pathway for esophageal tumor resections. METHODS:One hundred and fourteen patients with esophageal carcinoma who underwent esophagogastrectomy from January 2006 to October 2007 in our department were studied.Fast track clinical pathway included analgesia control,fluid infusion volume control,early ambulation and enteral nutrition. Nasogastric tube was removed 3 d after operation and chest tube was removed 4 d after operation as a routine,and full liquid diet 5 d after operation. RESULTS:Among 114 patients(84 men and 30 women),26 patients underwent fast track surgery,including 17 patients over 65 years old and 9 under 65(P=0.014);18 patients who had preoperative complications could not bear fast track surgery(P< 0.001).No significant differences in tolerance of fast track surgery were attributed to differences in gender,differentiated degree or stage of tumor,pathological type of tumor,or operative incision.The median length of hospital stay was 7 d(5-28 d),4%patients were readmitted to hospital within 30 d of discharge.Three patients died and postoperative mortality was 2.6%. All 3 patients had no determinacy to fast track surgery approach.CONCLUSION:The majority of patients with esophageal carcinoma can tolerate fast track surgery. | 5 | Late Mesozoic extensional tectonics of the Liaodong Peninsula massif:Response of crust to continental lithosphere destruction of the North China Craton显示文摘Unlike most Precambrian cratons that have thick sub-continental lithospheric roots,the Archean lithosphere beneath the North China Craton is thin (reduced from 200 km to about 80 km),and has been replaced by a geochemically juvenile lithospheric mantle.This is a unique regional geological event,which has attracted worldwide attention.In the North China Block,Late Mesozoic extensional tectonics is evident by low-angle detachment faults,syntectonic plutons bounded by ductile faults,metamorphic core complexes (MCC) and widespread Jurassic to Cretaceous half-grabens filled by continental terrigenous deposits and volcanic rocks.At a regional scale,these structures share the same NW-SE extensional direction,while maintaining their own individual kinematics.In other words,the MCC feature a top-to-the-NW sense of shear,and syntectonic plutons are typified by a top-to-the-SE shearing deformations.Geochronological results indicate that the extensional structures were formed between 130-120 Ma.These extensional events lead to magmatic rock emplacement,distributed at the footwall of the detachment faults.Two different exhumation stages can be identified based on regional structural and magmatic interpretation:a Jurassic slow or negligible exhumation and a Cretaceous fast one assisted by normal faulting.These two cooling stages correspond to distinct geodynamic processes that occurred during the Jurassic and Cretaceous.Extensional tectonics appear to have been insignificant before the Early Cretaceous,and the process may be demonstrated by partial melting of the crust.The second stage,dominated by an extensional regime,developed after ca 120 Ma,and is tentatively correlated with crustal extension caused by lithospheric removal of the North China Craton. | LIN Wei WANG QingChen WANG Jun WANG Fei CHU Yang CHEN Ke | 2011 | Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,6: | 24 |

| 7 | Alkaline phosphatase activity and the phosphorus mineralization rate of Lake Taihu显示文摘The phosphorus fractions, the alkaline phosphatase activity (APA) and other water chemical parameters were concomitantly monitored from April 2003 to October 2004 in different ecotype sites of Lake Taihu. During the stages of algae growth, the phosphorus fractions and their relationships with APA in different ecotype sites were discussed and the phosphorus mineralization rate was calculated. In the water of Lake Taihu, most of the phosphorus (70.2%) could be attributed to the suspended particulate phosphorus, while the dissolved reactive phosphorus (DRP) seems to contribute less than 7%. About 58% of the total phosphorus, however, can be hydrolyzed as inorganic phosphate to compensate for phosphorus deficiency of algae and bacteria growth. During the different algae growth stages, the APA and its Kinetic parameters were varied significantly between different ecotype sites of Lake Taihu. This trend is also visible by comparing the phosphorus mineralization rate,and the most rapidly phosphorus turnover time is only several minutes. The fast recycle of phosphorus can, to some extent, be explained that the phosphorus source of algal blooms. | 13 | Triptolide Inhibits Expression of Inflammatory Cytokines and Proliferation of Fibroblast-like Synoviocytes Induced by IL-6/sIL-6R-Mediated JAK2/STAT3 Signaling Pathway显示文摘Triptolide,a component of the Chinese herb Tripterygium wilfordii Hook F,has been proved to be effective in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis(RA).However,its underlying mechanisms on RA have not yet been well established.We observed the inhibitory effect of triptolide on the expression of inflammatory cytokines and proliferation of fibroblast-like synoviocytes(FLS)induced by the complex of interleukin-6(IL-6)and the soluble form of the IL-6 receptor(sIL-6R).Furthermore,to clarify the underlying mechanisms,we treated FLS with the Janus-activated kinase 2(JAK2)inhibitor/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3)activation blocker AZD1480.In this study,immunohistochemical staining was used to identify vimentin(+)and CD68(−)in FLS.The FLS proliferation was measured by cell proliferation assay,and the cell cycles were analyzed by flow cytometry.Furthermore,ELISA was used to detect the expression of the inflammatory factors in culture solution.The expression levels of p-JAK2,JAK2,p-STAT3 and STAT3 were investigated through Western blotting analysis.The results showed that IL-6/sIL-6R significantly increased the cell proliferation and expression of inflammatory cytokines,including IL-6,interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF).Triptolide or AZD1480 inhibited the cell proliferation and inflammatory cytokine expression in IL-6/sIL-6R-stimulated FLS by suppressing JAK2/STAT3.The study suggested that the physiological effects of triptolide on RA were due to its contribution to the inhibition of the inflammatory cytokine expression and FLS proliferation by suppressing the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway.It may provide an innovative insight into the effect of triptolide in preventing RA pathogenesis. | Jian-jing LIN Ke TAO Nan GAO Hui ZENG De-li WANG Jun YANG Jian WENG | 2021 | Current Medical Science2021,41,1: | 13 |

| 16 | Molecular Typing of Leptospira interrogans Strains Isolated from Rattus tanezumi in Guizhou Province,Southwest of China显示文摘Objective To identify and type three leptospires isolated from Rattus tanezumi in Guizhou Province by using three molecular techniques (PFGE, MLVA, and MLST), reveal the molecular characteristic of causative agents of local leptospirosis and evaluate these three molecular methods based on their detection resolution and efficiency. Methods Three Leptospira strains were isolated from the kidney of Rattus tanezumi and cultured with EMJH medium. PFGE, MLVA, and MLST assays were applied to type the three strains isolated from Rattus tanezumi in Guizhou Province. Results PFGE, MLVA, and MLST typing showed that the three leptospiral isolates matched with leptospiral serogroup Icterohaemorrhagiae serovar Lai. The findings of the genotyping methods were consistent. MLVA and MLST defined genotypes, whereas PFGE allowed the recognition of additional subgroups within the genotypes, and the findings of molecular typing were also consistent with those of traditional techniques. | 18 | Rapid and Accurate Sequencing of Enterovirus Genomes Using MinION Nanopore Sequencer显示文摘Objective Knowledge of an enterovirus genome sequence is very important in epidemiological investigation to identify transmission patterns and ascertain the extent of an outbreak.The MinION sequencer is increasingly used to sequence various viral pathogens in many clinical situations because of its long reads,portability,real-time accessibility of sequenced data,and very low initial costs.However,information is lacking on MinION sequencing of enterovirus genomes.Methods In this proof-of-concept study using Enterovirus 71(EV71) and Coxsackievirus A16(CA16) strains as examples,we established an amplicon-based whole genome sequencing method using MinION.We explored the accuracy,minimum sequencing time,discrimination and high-throughput sequencing ability of MinION,and compared its performance with Sanger sequencing.Results Within the first minute(min) of sequencing,the accuracy of MinION was 98.5% for the single EV71 strain and 94.12%-97.33% for 10 genetically-related CA16 strains.In as little as 14 min,99% identity was reached for the single EV71 strain,and in 17 min(on average),99% identity was achieved for 10 CA16 strains in a single run.Conclusion MinION is suitable for whole genome sequencing of enteroviruses with sufficient accuracy and fine discrimination and has the potential as a fast,reliable and convenient method for routine use. | WANG Ji KE Yue Hua ZHANG Yong HUANG Ke Qiang WANG Lei SHEN Xin Xin DONG Xiao Ping XU Wen Bo MA Xue Jun | 2017 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2017,30,10: | 11 |
