| 1 | Active power regulation of wind power systems through demand response显示文摘With the specific characteristics of low-carbon intensity and economy,wind power has been widely promoted around the world.Due to the variable and intermittent nature of wind power production,the system has to frequently redispatch generators in order to ensure the effective use of wind power whilst maintaining system security.In this way,traditional generation costs are increased and the social benefit of wind power decreases indirectly.In this paper,a new regulation strategy based on power flow tracing was proposed,taking advantage of a comfort-constrained demand response strategy to follow the fluctuations of wind farm output,with the remaining imbalance of active power compensated by traditional generators.Examples showed that compared with conventional regulation,demand response could reduce the gross operating costs of the system,and the rapid response could help maintaining system stability in case of contingency.The strategy in this paper also applies to other large-scale integration problems associated with renewable energy resources which display short-term production variability. | MIAO WeiWei JIA HongJie WANG Dan PARKINSON Simon CRAWFORD Curran DJILALI Ned | 2012 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,6: | 24 |
| 2 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 3 | The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. | 4 | High degree of pharmacokinetic compatibility exists between the five-herb medicine XueBiJing and antibiotics comedicated in sepsis care显示文摘Managing the dysregulated host response to infection remains a major challenge in sepsis care. Chinese treatment guideline recommends adding Xue Bi Jing, a five-herb medicine, to antibioticbased sepsis care. Although adding Xue Bi Jing further reduced 28-day mortality via modulating the host response, pharmacokinetic herbedrug interaction is a widely recognized issue that needs to be studied.Building on our earlier systematic chemical and human pharmacokinetic investigations of Xue Bi Jing, we evaluated the degree of pharmacokinetic compatibility for Xue Bi Jing/antibiotic combination based on mechanistic evidence of interaction risk. Considering both Xue Bi Jing-antibiotic and antibiotic-Xue Bi Jing interaction potential, we integrated informatics-based approach with experimental approach and developed a compound pair-based method for data processing. To reflect clinical reality, we selected for study Xue Bi Jing compounds bioavailable for drug interactions and 45 antibiotics commonly used in sepsis care in China. Based on the data of interacting with drug metabolizing enzymes and transporters, no Xue Bi Jing compound could pair, as perpetrator, with the antibiotics. Although some antibiotics could,due to their inhibition of uridine 50-diphosphoglucuronosyltransferase 2 B15, organic anion transporters1/2 and/or organic anion-transporting polypeptide 1 B3, pair with senkyunolide I, tanshinol and salvianolic acid B, the potential interactions(resulting in increased exposure) are likely desirable due to these Xue Bi Jing compounds’ low baseline exposure levels. Inhibition of aldehyde dehydrogenase by 7 antibiotics probably results in undesirable reduction of exposure to protocatechuic acid from Xue Bi Jing.Collectively, Xue Bi Jing/antibiotic combination exhibited a high degree of pharmacokinetic compatibility at clinically relevant doses. | 5 | Roles of dietary supplementation with arginine or N-carbamylglutamate in modulating the inflammation, antioxidant property, and m RNA expression of antioxidant-relative signaling molecules in the spleen of rats under oxidative stress显示文摘This study evaluated the effects of arginine(Arg) or N-carbamylglutamate(NCG) on inflammation, antioxidant property, and antioxidant-related gene expression in rat spleen under oxidative stress. A total of 52 rats were randomly distributed into 4 treatment groups with 13 replicates per group. Rats were fed a basal diet(BD) or BD supplemented with Arg or NCG for 30 days. On day 28, half of the BD-fed rats were intraperitoneally injected with sterile saline(control group), and the other half with 12 mg/kg body weight of diquat(DT; DT group). The other 2 diet groups were intraperitoneally injected with 12 mg/kg body weight of DT with either Arg(1%)(DT t Arg) or NCG(0.1%)(DT t NCG). Rat spleen samples were collected for analysis at 48 h after DT injection. Results showed that DT damaged the antioxidant defense in rats compared with the control group(P < 0.05). Compared with the DT group, the DT t Arg and DT t NCG groups manifested improved anti-hydroxyl radical, catalase, and total superoxide dismutase(T-SOD) activities, increased glutathione content(P < 0.05), and decreased malondialdehyde content(P < 0.05).Moreover, compared with the DT group, the DT t Arg and DT t NCG groups enhanced mRNA expression of superoxide dismutase(SOD), glutathione peroxidase 1(GPx1), glutathione reductase(GR), nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2), Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1(Keap-1), and mammalian target of rapamycin(m TOR)(P < 0.05). Both NCG and Arg significantly increased anti-inflammatory cytokine mRNA level but suppressed the pro-inflammatory cytokine mRNA expression under oxidative stress(P < 0.05). In summary, NCG and Arg effectively alleviated oxidative stress, improved the antioxidant capacity and regulated the antioxidant-related signaling molecular expression in rat spleen. | 6 | Offline two-dimensional liquid chromatography coupled with ion mobility-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry enabling fourdimensional separation and characterization of the multicomponents from white ginseng and red ginseng显示文摘Inherent complexity of plant metabolites necessitates the use of multi-dimensional information to accomplish comprehensive profiling and confirmative identification.A dimension-enhanced strategy,by offline two-dimensional liquid chromatography/ion mobility-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry(2 D-LC/IM-QTOF-MS)enabling four-dimensional separations(2 D-LC,IM,and MS),is proposed.In combination with in-house database-driven automated peak annotation,this strategy was utilized to characterize ginsenosides simultaneously from white ginseng(WG)and red ginseng(RG).An offline 2 DLC system configuring an Xbridge Amide column and an HSS T3 column showed orthogonality 0.76 in the resolution of ginsenosides.Ginsenoside analysis was performed by data-independent high-definition MSE(HDMSE)in the negative ESI mode on a Vion?IMS-QTOF hybrid high-resolution mass spectrometer,which could better resolve ginsenosides than MSEand directly give the CCS information.An in-house ginsenoside database recording 504 known ginsenosides and 58 reference compounds,was established to assist the identification of ginsenosides.Streamlined workflows,by applying UNIFI?to automatedly annotate the HDMSEdata,were proposed.We could separate and characterize 323 ginsenosides(including 286 from WG and 306 from RG),and 125 thereof may have not been isolated from the Panax genus.The established 2 D-LC/IM-QTOF-HDMSEapproach could also act as a magnifier to probe differentiated components between WG and RG.Compared with conventional approaches,this dimensionenhanced strategy could better resolve coeluting herbal components and more efficiently,more reliably identify the multicomponents,which,we believe,offers more possibilities for the systematic exposure and confirmative identification of plant metabolites. | Tiantian Zuo Chunxia Zhang Weiwei Li Hongda Wang Ying Hu Wenzhi Yang Li Jia Xiaoyan Wang Xiumei Gao Dean Guo | 2020 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2020,10,6: | 9 |
| 7 | The Low Energy X-ray telescope (LE) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Low Energy X-ray telescope(LE) is one of the three main instruments of the Insight-Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(Insight-HXMT). It is equipped with Swept Charge Device(SCD) sensor arrays with a total geometrical area of 384 cm^2 and an energy band from 0.7 to 13 ke V. In order to evaluate the particle induced X-ray background and the cosmic X-ray background simultaneously, LE adopts collimators to define four types of Field Of Views(FOVs), i.e., 1.6°×6°, 4°×6°, 50°-60°×2°-6 oand the blocked ones which block the X-ray by an aluminum cover. LE is constituted of three detector boxes(LEDs) and an electric control box(LEB) and achieves a good energy resolution of 140 e V@5.9 ke V, an excellent time resolution of 0.98 ms, as well as an extremely low pileup(<1%@18000 cts/s). | 8 | Preventive effect of Shenkang injection against high glucose-induced senescence of renal tubular cells显示文摘Shenkang injection (SKI) is a classic prescription composed of Radix Astragali, rhubarb, Astragalus, Safflower, and Salvia. This treatment was approved by the State Food and Drug Administration of China in 1999 for treatment of chronic kidney diseases based on good efficacy and safety. This study aimed to investigate the protective effect of SKI against high glucose (HG)-induced renal tubular cell senescence and its underlying mechanism. Primary renal proximal tubule epithelial cells were cultured in (1) control medium (control group), medium containing 5 mmol/L glucose;(2) mannitol medium (mannitol group), medium containing 5 mmol/L glucose, and 25 mmol/L mannitol;(3) HG medium (HG group) containing 30 mmol/L glucose;(4) SKI treatment at high (200 mg/L), medium (100 mg/L), or low (50 mg/L) concentration in HG medium (HG+ SKI group);or (5) 200 mg/L SKI treatment in control medium (control+ SKI group) for 72 h. HG-induced senescent cells showed the emergence of senescence associated heterochromatin foci, up-regulation of P16INK4 and cyclin D1, increased senescence-associated β-galactosidase activity, and elevated expression of membrane decoy receptor 2. SKI treatment potently prevented these changes in a dose-independent manner. SKI treatment prevented HG-induced up-regulation of pro-senescence molecule mammalian target of rapamycin and p66Shc and down-regulation of anti-senescence molecules klotho, sirt1, and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-g in renal tubular epithelial cells. | 9 | In-situ synthesis of interconnected SWCNT/OMC framework on silicon nanoparticles for high performance lithium-ion batteries显示文摘In spite of silicon has a superior theoretical capacity, the large volume expansion of Si anodes during Li^+ insertion/extraction is the bottle neck that results in fast capacity fading and poor cycling performance. In this paper, we report a silicon, single-walled carbon nanotube, and ordered mesoporous carbon nanocomposite synthesized by an evaporation-induced self-assembly process, in which silicon nanoparticles and single-walled carbon nanotubes were added into the phenolic resol with F-127 for co-condensation. The ordered mesoporous carbon matrix and single-walled carbon nanotubes network could effectively accommodate the volume change of silicon nanoparticles, and the ordered mesoporous structure could also provide efficient channels for the fast transport of Li-ions. As a consequence, this hybrid material exhibits a reversible capacity of 861 mAh g^(-1) after 150 cycles at a current density of 400 mAg^(-1). | 10 | Nonlinear mixed-effects height to crown base and crown length dynamic models using the branch mortality technique for a Korean larch( Larix olgensis ) plantations in northeast China显示文摘Korean larch(Larix olgensis)is one of the main tree species for aff orestation and timber production in northeast China.However,its timber quality and growth ability are largely infl uenced by crown size,structure and shape.The majority of crown models are static models based on tree size and stand characteristics from temporary sample plots,but crown dynamic models has seldom been constructed.Therefore,this study aimed to develop height to crown base(HCB)and crown length(CL)dynamic models using the branch mortality technique for a Korean larch plantation.The nonlinear mixed-eff ects model with random eff ects,variance functions and correlation structures,was used to build HCB and CL dynamic models.The data were obtained from 95 sample trees of 19 plots in Meng JiaGang forest farm in Northeast China.The results showed that HCB progressively increases as tree age,tree height growth(HT growth)and diameter at breast height growth(DBH growth).The CL was increased with tree age in 20 years ago,and subsequently stabilized.HT growth,DBH growth stand basal area(BAS)and crown competition factor(CCF)signifi cantly infl uenced HCB and CL.The HCB was positively correlated with BAS,HT growth and DBH growth,but negatively correlated with CCF.The CL was positively correlated with BAS and CCF,but negatively correlated with DBH growth.Model fi tting and validation confi rmed that the mixed-eff ects model considering the stand and tree level random eff ects was accurate and reliable for predicting the HCB and CL dynamics.However,the models involving adding variance functions and time series correlation structure could not completely remove heterogeneity and autocorrelation,and the fi tting precision of the models was reduced.Therefore,from the point of view of application,we should take care to avoid setting up over-complex models.The HCB and CL dynamic models in our study may also be incorporated into stand growth and yield model systems in China. | Weiwei Jia Dongsheng Chen | 2019 | Journal of Forestry Research2019,30,6: | 6 |
| 11 | Copper-ceria sheets catalysts: Effect of copper species on catalytic activity in CO oxidation reaction显示文摘Copper-ceria sheets catalysts with different loadings of copper(2 wt.%, 5 wt.% and 10 wt.%) supported on ceria nanosheets were synthesized via a depositioneprecipitation(DP) method. The prepared catalysts were systematically characterized with various structural and textural detections including X-ray diffraction(XRD), Raman spectra, transmission electron microscopy(TEM), X-ray absorption fine structure(XAFS), and temperature-programmed reduction by hydrogen(H_2-TPR), and tested for the CO oxidation reaction. Notably, the sample containing 5 wt.% of Cu exhibited the best catalytic performance as a result of the highest number of active CuO species on the catalyst surface. Further increase of copper content strongly affects the dispersion of copper and thus leads to the formation of less active bulk CuO phase, which was verified by XRD and H_2-TPR analysis. Moreover, on the basis of in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(in-situ DRIFTS) results, the surface Cu^+ species, which are derived from the reduction of Cu^(2+), are likely to play a crucial role in the catalyzing CO oxidation.Consequently, the superior catalytic performance of the copper-ceria sheets is mainly attributed to the highly dispersed CuO_x cluster rather than Cu-[O_x]-Ce structure, while the bulk CuO phase is adverse to the catalytic activity of CO oxidation. | Linying Du Weiwei Wang Han Yan Xu Wang Zhao Jin Qisheng Song Rui Si Chunjiang Jia | 2017 | Journal of Rare Earths2017,35,12: | 5 |

| 17 | Preparation and SO2 Adsorption Behavior of Coconut Shell-Based Activated Carbon via Microwave-Assisted Oxidant Activation显示文摘A series of oxidants supported on coconut shell-based activated carbon(CAC) through microwave irradiation were prepared and characterized using scanning electron microscopy(SEM), N_2 adsorption/desorption analysis, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The SO_2 adsorption capacities and rates were evaluated by adsorption tests performed in a fixed bed reactor with a simulated flue gas, and the adsorption isotherm models were validated against the experimental results. The findings revealed that the SO_2 adsorption capacity decreased in the following order: MW-K_2Cr_2O_7-CAC > MWKMnO_4-CAC > MW-H_2O_2-CAC > MW-CAC. The SO_2 adsorption capacities and adsorption rates of the samples increased with an increasing oxidizability of the oxidants owing to the increment of mean pore size and oxygen-containing functional groups. In addition, a high initial SO_2 concentration and a low bed temperature could positively affect the SO2 adsorption. | 18 | Uterine artery embolization combined with ultrasound-guided dilation and 5–8-year follow-up study显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of uterine artery embolization(UAE) combined with dilation and curettage(D&C) using ultrasound as a treatment for cesarean scar pregnancy(CSP) and assess its effect on ovarian and reproductive function.Methods: A total of 54 patients with uterine CSP between January 2011 and December 2015 were included in this retrospective study. The patients were treated with UAE combined with D&C using ultrasound for the treatment of CSP and followed up for 5–8 years. Their medical records, medical histories, clinical manifestations, treatment courses, and treatment results were analyzed.Results: The 54 patients were initially treated without severe complications. β-Human chorionic gonadotropin(β-hCG) normalization took 36.11 ± 10.73 days(range, 25–84 days), length of hospitalization was 6.6 ± 1.5 days(range, 4–10 days), and total blood loss was 18.48 ± 8.41 mL(range, 5–33 mL). All patients resumed normal menstruation after 33.48 ± 8.71 days(range, 26–70 days). At the 5–8-year follow-up after UAE combined with D&C by ultrasound for the treatment of uterine CSP, the menstrual volume in 32(59.3%) patients decreased versus before the operation. Compared with pretreatment, the menstrual cycle was prolonged in two(3.7%) cases,shortened in 10(18.5%) cases, irregular in one(1.9%) case, and unchanged in 39(72.2%) cases. Three patients conceived naturally and successfully gave birth to healthy children. Seven(12.96%) patients with accidental natural pregnancies chose induced abortion with no significant change in their sex lives.Conclusion: UAE combined with D&C using ultrasound for the treatment of uterine CSP is safe and effective and may not affect the fertility of patients aged <40 years. | 20 | Influence of Cr^(3+) Concentration on SO_2 Removal over TiO_2 Based Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes显示文摘In this study, titanium dioxide supported by multi-walled carbon nano tubes(MWCNTs/TiO_2) and Cr-doped TiO_2 supported by MWCNTs(MWNTs/Cr-TiO_2) were synthesized by the sol-gel method. The prepared samples were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, the BrunauerEmmett-Teller analysis, and the Raman spectroscopy. The oxidation and efficiency for removal of SO_2 in a simulated flue gas were investigated experimentally in a fixed-bed reactor. The 15% MWCNTs/Cr-Ti02 sample displayed excellent adsorption properties, and a SO_2 removal rate equating to 30.415 1 mg/g from the simulated flue gas containing 2 300 μg/g of SO_2, 8% of 02, and 5% of H20 was achieved under optimal conditions covering a temperature of 333.15 K, and a space velocity of 1 275 h^(-1). The adsorption process was enhanced because Cr doping modified the pore structure and inhibited the grain growth of TiO_2. In addition, the Freundlich and Langmuir models revealed that SO_2 was mainly adsorbed through chemical adsorption on the sample surfaces, and the thermodynamic model analysis indicated that the adsorption was a spontaneous, exothermic, and entropy-reducing process. The adsorption kinetics of SO_2 can be described by the pseudosecond-order kinetic and the Bangham dynamics models.
