12018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 2Secondary organic carbon quantification and source apportionment of PM_(10) in Kaifeng, China显示文摘During 2005, the filter samples of ambient PM10 from five sites and the source samples of particulate matter were collected in Kaifeng, Henan Province of China. Nineteen elements, water-soluble ions, total carbon (TC) and organic carbon (OC) contained in samples were analyzed. Seven contributive source types were identified and their contributions to ambient PM10 were estimated by chemical mass balance (CMB) receptor model. Weak associations between the concentrations of organic carbon and element carbon (EC) were observed during the sampling periods, indicating that there was secondary organic aerosol pollution in the urban atmosphere. An indirect method of 'OC/EC minimum ratio' was applied to estimate the concentration of secondary organic carbon (SOC). The results showed that SOC contributed 26.2%, 32.4% and 18.0% of TC in spring, summer-fall and winter, respectively, and the annual average SOC concentration was 7.07 μg/m3, accounting for 5.73% of the total mass in ambient PM10. 3Study of Bacillus subtilis on growth performance, nutrition metabolism and intestinal microflora of 1 to 42 d broiler chickens显示文摘To study the influence of different levels of Bacillus subtilis on growth performance, nutrition metabolism and intestinal microflora of 1 to 42 d Arbor Acres(AA) broilers, a total of 800 one-day-old healthy broilers were randomly divided into 5 groups with 4 replicates per group and 40 broilers per replicate. Broilers were fed a basic diet(group 1) which acted as the control group, and 4 other groups(2 to 5) were fed the basal diet with B. subtilis added at concentrations of 100, 150, 200 and 250 mg/kg, respectively for 42 days. The results showed as follow: the average daily gain(ADG) of group 4 was significantly higher than(P < 0.05) that of group 1, and the average daily feed intake(ADFI) of group 5 was the highest but the differences between groups were not significant(P > 0.05). The feed to gain ratio(F/G) of all the experimental groups was lower than that of the control and the difference was significant in group 4(P < 0.05). In addition, supplementation of B. subtilis increased the apparent metabolism of crude protein(P > 0.05), crude fat(P > 0.05), dry matter(P > 0.05) and organic matter(P < 0.05). B. subtilis decreased the Escherichia coli and Salmonella populations in the cecum. This shows that adding B. subtilis to the broiler diet can improve the growth performance, increase feed efficiency, regulate serum index and reduce harmful bacteria in the intestinal tract. 5Clinical features and outcomes of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma based on nodal or extranodal primary sites of origin:Analysis of 1,085 WHO classified cases in a single institution in China显示文摘Objective: To explore the clinicobiologic features and outcomes of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)patients in China according to the primary site.Methods: A total of 1,085 patients diagnosed with DLBCL in National Cancer Center/Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College during a 6-year period were enrolled. Their clinical characteristics and outcomes were analyzed according to the primary site.Results: In the 1,085 patients, 679(62.6%) cases were nodal DLBCL(N-DLBCL) and 406 cases(37.4%) were extranodal DLBCL(EN-DLBCL). The most common sites of N-DLBCL were lymphonodus(64.8%), Waldeyer's ring(19.7%), mediastinum(12.8%) and spleen(2.7%), while in EN-DLBCL, stomach(22.4%), intestine(16.0%),nose and sinuses(8.9%), testis(8.4%), skin(7.9%), thyroid(6.9%), central nervous system(CNS)(6.4%), breast(5.7%), bone(3.4%), and salivary gland(2.7%) were most common. N-DLBCL patients tend to present B symptoms, bulky disease, and elevated LDH more often, while age >60 years, extranodal sites >1, Ann Arbor stage I or II, bone marrow involvement, and Ki-67 index >90% were usually seen in EN-DLBCL. The 5-year overall survival(OS) rate and progression-free survival(PFS) rate for all patients were 62.5% and 54.2%. The 5-year OS rate for patients with N-DLBCL and EN-DLBCL were 65.5% and 56.9%(P=0.008), and the 5-year PFS were57.0% and 49.0%(P=0.020). Waldeyer's ring originated DLBCL possessed the highest 5-year OS rate(83.6%) and PFS rate(76.9%) in N-DLBCL. The top five EN-DLBCL subtypes with favorable prognosis were stomach,breast, nose and sinuses, lung, salivary gland, with 5-year OS rate: 70.3%, 69.6%, 69.4%, 66.7% and 63.6%,respectively. While CNS, testis, oral cavity and kidney originated EN-DLBCL faced miserable prognosis, with 5-year OS rate of 26.9%, 38.2%, and 42.9%.Conclusions: In our study, primary sites were associated with clinical characteristics and outcomes. 6IL-10-producing regulatory B cells restrain the T follicular helper cell response in primary Sjögren’s syndrome显示文摘Increased numbers of T follicular helper(Tfh)cells have been implicated in the development of autoimmune diseases including primary Sjögren’s syndrome(pSS),but how the Tfh cell response is regulated during autoimmune pathogenesis remains largely unclear.Here,we first found negative correlations between IL-10^(+)regulatory B(Breg)cell numbers and Tfh cell responses and disease activity in patients with pSS and mice with experimental Sjögren’s syndrome(ESS).Moreover,we detected high expression of IL-10 receptor on Tfh cells and their precursors in both humans and mice.In culture,IL-10 suppressed human and murine Tfh cell differentiation by promoting STAT5 phosphorylation.By using an adoptive transfer approach and two-photon live imaging,we found significantly increased numbers of Tfh cells with enhanced T cell homing into B cell follicles in the draining cervical lymph nodes of RAG-2−/−mice transferred with IL-10-deficient B cells during ESS development compared with those of RAG-2−/−mice transferred with wild-type B cells.In ESS mice,CD19^(+)CD1d^(hi)CD5^(+)Breg cells with decreased IL-10 production exhibited severely impaired suppressive effects on T cell proliferation.Consistently,CD19^(+)CD24^(+)CD38^(hi) Breg cells from pSS patients showed significantly reduced IL-10 production with defective inhibitory function in the suppression of autologous Tfh cell expansion.Furthermore,the adoptive transfer of IL-10-producing Breg cells markedly suppressed the Tfh cell response and ameliorated ESS progression in ESS mice.Together,these findings demonstrate a critical role for IL-10-producing Breg cells in restraining the effector Tfh cell response during pSS development.Xiang Lin Xiaohui Wang Fan Xiao Kongyang Ma Lixiong Liu Xiaoqi Wang Dong Xu Fei Wang Xiaofei Shi Dongzhou Liu Yan Zhao Liwei Lu 2019Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,12:13

11Prognostic implications of epidermal growth factor receptor variant Ⅲ expression and nuclear translocation in Chinese human gliomas显示文摘Objective: To determine the prognostic implications and clinical significance of epidermal growth factor receptor variant Ⅲ(EGFRvⅢ) expression and EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation in Chinese human gliomas.Methods: We retrospectively examined EGFRvⅢ expression and EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation using immunohistochemistry in specimens of 240 Chinese patients with glioma, including 84 World Health Organization(WHO) II gliomas, 84 WHO Ⅲ gliomas and 72 glioblastomas(WHO IV). Factors that correlated with EGFRvⅢ and EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation expression were analyzed by the Chi-square test. Kaplan-Meier methodology and Cox regression were used for the survival analysis.Results: Log-rank tests showed that patient age, Karnofsky performance scale(KPS) score, tumor grade,EGFRvⅢ expression, EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation, 1 p/19 q codeletion, isocitrate dehydrogenase(IDH)mutation, Ki-67 labeling index and O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase(MGMT) status(P<0.05) were significantly correlated with overall survival(OS) time. Multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that patient age, tumor grade, EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation, 1 p/19 q codeletion, and IDH mutation(P<0.05) were significantly correlated with OS. Patients with a high level of EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation(≥7%) had both significantly shorter OS [hazard ratio(HR): 1.920, 95% confidence interval(95% CI): 1.228-3.003, P=0.004] and progression-free survival(PFS) times(HR: 1.661, 95% CI: 1.116-2.471, P=0.012) than those with a low level of EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation(<7%).Conclusions: A high level of EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation in glioma is an independent factor indicating a poor prognosis, but EGFRvⅢ expression is not an independent clinical prognostic factor. 14New formula for drag coefficient of cylindrical particles显示文摘The drag force on a cylindrical particle is calculated using lattice Boltzmann method.The results show that the drag coefficient of a particle with different orientation angles decreases with increasing Reynolds number.When the principal axis of the particle is parallel to flow,the drag coefficient is much larger than that of others and decreases fastest with increasing Reynolds number,which becomes more obvious with increasing particle aspect ratio.When the principal axis of the particle is inclined to flow,the drag coefficient is nearly the same for different particle aspect ratios.In the case of flow with small Reynolds number (Re<100),the drag coefficient decreases with increasing orientation angle at different aspect ratios and Reynolds numbers.The drag coefficient is more sensitive to particle orientation angle when the particle orientation angle is small and the aspect ratio is large.Finally,a new correlation formula for the drag coefficient of cylindrical particle is established,with which the drag force on a cylindrical particle can be directly calculated based on the Reynolds number,particle aspect ratio and orientation angle.Xiaohui Guo Jianzhong Lin Deming Nie 2011Particuology2011,9,2:6
15Proteasome inhibition suppresses Th17 cell generation and ameliorates autoimmune development in experimental Sjögren’s syndrome显示文摘Immunoproteasome activation in immune cells is involved in the modulation of immune responses.Increasing evidence indicates that proteasome inhibitors show beneficial effects in treating autoimmune diseases,but it remains unclear whether proteasome inhibition is an effective approach for suppressing autoimmune development in Sjögren’s syndrome(SS).Our previous work has demonstrated a critical role for Th17 cells in the development of experimental SS(ESS)in mice.In this study,we detected high levels of low-molecular-weight protein 7(LMP7),a key subunit of the immunoproteasome,in Th17 cells from ESS mice.Moreover,treatment with bortezomib(BTZ),a proteasome inhibitor,markedly suppressed Th17 differentiation in both murine and human naive T cells in culture.Furthermore,ESS mice treated with BTZ displayed significantly higher saliva flow rates and a reduction in tissue destruction in the salivary glands compared with vehicle-treated ESS mice.Notably,BTZ-treated ESS mice showed markedly decreased Th17 cells,germinal center B cells and plasma cells in the peripheral lymphoid organs.In addition,adoptively transferred wild type naive CD4+T cells rapidly differentiated into Th17 cells and induced salivary dysfunction in IL-17-deficient mice immunized for ESS induction.However,BTZ treatment profoundly suppressed the donor T-cell-derived Th17 response and ameliorated the reduction in salivary secretion in IL-17-deficient recipient mice.Taken together,our findings demonstrate that proteasome inhibition can effectively ameliorate ESS by suppressing the Th17 response,which may contribute to the development of a novel therapeutic strategy for the treatment of SS.Fan Xiao Xiang Lin Jie Tian Xiaohui Wang Qian Chen Ke Rui Jie Ma Shengjun Wang Qingwen Wang Xiaoqi Wang Dongzhou Liu Lingyun Sun Liwei Lu 2017Cellular & Molecular Immunology2017,14,11:6
16Differential surface uplift: Cenozoic paleoelevation history of the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The surface uplift history of the Tibetan Plateau has provided a key boundary criterion for various geological, climatic,and environmental events since the Cenozoic. The paleoelevation history of the plateau is organically associated with interactions amongst deep geodynamics, earth surface processes, and climate change. Understanding of plateau uplift history has been advanced by the development of a number of paleoaltimetries and their application to studies of the Tibetan Plateau: the paleogeomorphic scenario for the Early Eocene Tibetan Plateau is thought to include two high mountains, the ca. 4500 m Gangdese Mountains to the south, and the ca. 5000 m Qiangtang Center Watershed Mountains to the north. Between these ranges, a low-elevation basin(ca. 2500 m) is thought to have been present. The Himalayas in the southern Tibetan Plateau was close to sea level at this time,while the Hoh Xil Basin in the north reached an elevation of no more than 1500 m. Thus, the so-called 'Roof of the World' Tibetan Plateau formed subsequent to the Miocene. 19Perioperative rh-endostatin with chemotherapy improves the survival of conventional osteosarcoma patients: a prospective non-randomized controlled study显示文摘Objective: Anti-angiogenic drugs are an emerging treatment option against malignant tumors. The aim of this study was to determine whether the addition of perioperative rh-endostatin to chemotherapy could improve the probability of distant metastasis-free survival(DMFS) and overall survival(OS) in patients newly diagnosed with non-metastatic conventional osteosarcoma.Methods: This was a controlled non-randomized clinical study that included 388 patients without clinically detectable metastatic disease enrolled from January 2008 to April 2012. The control treatment group had 272 patients; 180 were male and 92, female,with a median age of 17 years. The treatment group had 58 patients; 36 were male and 22, female, with a median age of 16 years.The control group received preoperative chemotherapy followed by surgery and postoperative chemotherapy. The treatment group received 4 cycles of rh-endostatin perioperatively in addition to chemotherapy as per the control group. Patients were followed up from 6-101 months with a median follow-up period of 50.2 months.Results: The 5-year DMFS of the control group(61%) was significantly lower than that of the rh-endostatin group(79%)(P = 0.013). The 5-year OS of the control group(74%) was significantly lower than that of the rh-endostatin treatment group(87%)(P = 0.029).
