2Hierarchical Ag-SiO_2@Fe_3O_4magnetic composites for elemental mercury removal from non-ferrous metal smelting flue gas显示文摘Hierarchical Ag-SiO_2@Fe_3O_4 magnetic composites were selected for elemental mercury(Hg^0) removal from non-ferrous metal smelting flue gas in this study. Results showed that the hierarchical Ag-SiO_2@Fe_3O_4 magnetic composites had favorable Hg^0 removal ability at low temperature. Moreover, the adsorption capacity of hierarchical magnetic composite is much larger than that of pure Fe_3O_4 and SiO_2@Fe_3O_4. The Hg^0 removal efficiency reached the highest value as approximately 92% under the reaction temperature of 150°C, while the removal efficiency sharply reduced in the absence of O_2. The characterization results indicated that Ag nanoparticles grew on the surface of SiO_2@Fe_3O_4 support. The large surface area of SiO_2 supplied efficient reaction room for Hg and Ag atoms. Ag–Hg amalgam is generated on the surface of the composites. 4Epidemiology of urticaria in China:a population-based study显示文摘Background:Urticaria is a common skin disease characterized by episodes of wheals,and it has a negative effect on patients’quality of life.Large-scale population-based epidemiological studies of urticaria are scarce in China.The aim of this survey was to determine the prevalence,clinical forms,and risk factors of urticaria in the Chinese population.Methods:This survey was conducted in 35 cities from 31 provinces,autonomous regions,and municipalities of China.Two to three communities in each city were selected in this investigation.Participants completed questionnaires and received dermatological examinations.We analyzed the prevalence,clinical forms,and risk factors of urticaria.Results:In total,44,875 questionnaires were distributed and 41,041 valid questionnaires were collected(17,563 male and 23,478 female participants).The lifetime prevalence of urticaria was 7.30%,with 8.26%in female and 6.34%in male individuals(P<0.05).The point prevalence of urticaria was 0.75%,with 0.79%in female and 0.71%in male individuals(P<0.05).Concomitant angioedema was found in 6.16%of patients.Adults had a higher prevalence of urticaria than adolescents and children.Living in urban areas,exposure to pollutants,an anxious or depressed psychological status,a personal and family history of allergy,thyroid diseases,and Helicobacter pylori infection were associated with a higher prevalence of urticaria.Smoking was correlated with a reduced risk of urticaria.Conclusion:This study demonstrated that the lifetime prevalence of urticaria was 7.30%and the point prevalence was 0.75%in the Chinese population;women had a higher prevalence of urticaria than men.Various factors were correlated with urticaria.Jiaqing Li Dandan Mao Shuoshuo Liu Ping Liu Jing Tian Chenhong Xue Xiaojing Liu Ruiqun Qi Bingxue Bai Jianjun Nie Siqi Ye Yu Wang Yuye Li Qing Sun Juan Tao Shuping Guo Hong Fang Jianqin Wang Qiri Mu Quanzhong Liu Yan Ding Jianzhong Zhang 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,11:6

6A Nonresonant Hybridized Electromagnetic-Triboelectric Nanogenerator for Irregular and Ultralow Frequency Blue Energy Harvesting显示文摘As a promising renewable energy source,it is a challenging task to obtain blue energy,which is irregular and has an ultralow frequency,due to the limitation of technology.Herein,a nonresonant hybridized electromagnetic-triboelectric nanogenerator was presented to efficiently obtain the ultralow frequency energy.The instrument adopted the flexible pendulum structure with a precise design and combined the working principle of electromagnetism and triboelectricity to realize the all-directional vibration energy acquisition successfully.The results confirmed that the triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)had the potential to deliver the maximum power point of about 470μW while the electromagnetic nanogenerator(EMG)can provide 523 mW at most.The conversion efficiency of energy of the system reached 48.48%,which exhibited a remarkable improvement by about 2.96 times,due to the elastic buffering effect of the TENG with the double helix structure.Furthermore,its ability to collect low frequency wave energy was successfully proven by a buoy in Jialing River.This woke provides an effective candidate to harvest irregular and ultralow frequency blue energy on a large scale.Weibo Xie Lingxiao Gao Lingke Wu Xin Chen Fayang Wang Daqiao Tong Jian Zhang Jianyu Lan Xiaobin He Xiaojing Mu Ya Yang 2021Research2021,,1:4
7An aptamer-based shear horizontal surface acoustic wave biosensor with a CVD-grown single- layered graphene film for high-sensitivity detection of a label-free endotoxin显示文摘The thickness of the sensitive layer has an important influence on the sensitivity of a shear horizontal surface acoustic wave(SH-SAW)biosensor with a delay-line structure and lower layer numbers of graphene produce better sensitivity for biological detection.Therefore,a label-free and highly sensitive SH-SAW biosensor with chemical vapor deposition(CVD-)-grown single-layered graphene(SLG)for endotoxin detection was developed in this study.With this methodology,SH-SAW biosensors were fabricated on a 36°Y-90°X quartz substrate with a base frequency of 246.2MHz,and an effective detection cell was fabricated using acrylic material.To increase the surface hydrophilicity,chitosan was applied to the surface of the SLG film.Additionally,the aptamer was immobilized on the surface of the SLG film by cross-linking with glutaraldehyde.Finally,the sensitivity was verified by endotoxin detection with a linear detection ranging from 0 to 100 ng/mL,and the detection limit(LOD)was as low as 3.53 ng/mL.In addition,the stability of this type of SH-SAW biosensor from the air phase to the liquid phase proved to be excellent and the specificity was tested and verified by detecting the endotoxin obtained from Escherichia coli(E.coli),the endotoxin obtained from Pseudomonas aeruginosa(P.aeruginosa),and aflatoxin.Therefore,this type of SH-SAW biosensor with a CVD-grown SLG film may offer a promising approach to endotoxin detection,and it may have great potential in clinical applications.Junwang Ji Yiquan Pang Dongxiao Li Zheng Huang Zuwei Zhang Ning Xue Yi Xu Xiaojing Mu 2020Microsystems & Nanoengineering2020,6,1:3

10Decoupling effects of driving factors on sediment yield in the Chinese Loess Plateau显示文摘Investigations of runoff and sediment yield changes and their relationships with potential driving factors provide good insights for understanding the mechanisms of hydrological processes.This study attempted to present a comprehensive investigation on the spatiotemporal variations of sediment yield in the Loess Plateau using continuous observed data at 46 hydrological stations during 1961-2016,and its responses to changes of precipitation,land use/cover and vegetation cover were analyzed by using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Model(PLS-SEM).The results indicated that sediment yield reduced pro-nouncedly during 1961-2016 in the Loess Plateau,and 77.9%of this variation was explained by the combined effects of precipitation,land-use change,vegetation dynamics and runoff reduction.Indirect effects of precipitation,land-use change,and vegetation cover on sediment yield were 0.242,-0.528 and-0.630(P<0.05),respectively,and direct effect of runoff on sediment yield was 0.833(P<0.05).According to the Pearson Correlation Coefficient,the strongest positive correlation existed between annual sediment yield and runoff(r=0.88,P<0.05),followed by vegetation cover(r=-0.47,P<0.05)and land-use change(i.e.forest land and grassland)suggesting their significant trapping effects on soil erosion.However,lower correlations were examined between sediment yield and precipitation indices(-0.14Xiaojing Tian Guangju Zhao Xingmin Mu Pengfei Zhang Peng Gao Wenyi Sun Xiaoyan Lu Peng Tian 2023International Soil and Water Conservation Research2023,11,1:1
11Loss-induced phase transition in mid-infrared plasmonic metamaterials for ultrasensitive vibrational spectroscopy显示文摘Metamaterials have proven their ability to possess extraordinary physical properties distinct from naturally available materials,leading to exciting sensing functionalities and applications.However,metamaterial-based sensing applications suffer from severe performance limitations due to noise interference and design constraints.Here,we propose a dual-phase strategy that leverages loss-induced different Fano-resonant phases to access both destructive and constructive signals of molecular vibration.When the two reverse signals are innovatively combined,the noise in the detection system is effectively suppressed,thereby breaking through the noise-related limitations.Additionally,by utilizing loss optimization of the plasmon-molecule coupling system,our dual-phase strategy enhances the efficiency of infrared energy transfer into the molecule without any additional fabrication complex,thereby overcoming the trade-off dilemma between performance and fabrication cost.Thanks to the pioneering breakthroughs in the limitations,our dual-phase strategy possesses an overwhelming competitive advantage in ultrasensitive vibrational spectroscopy over traditional metamaterial technology,including strong signal strength(×4),high sensitivity(×4.2),effective noise suppression(30%),low detection limit(13 ppm),and excellent selectivity among CO_(2),NH_(3),and CH_(4) mixtures.This work not only opens the door to various emerging ultrasensitive detection applications,including ultrasensitive in-breath diagnostics and high-information analysis of molecular information in dynamic reactions,but also gains new insights into the plasmon-molecule interactions in advanced metamaterials.Hong Zhou Dongxiao Li Zhihao Ren Xiaojing Mu Chengkuo Lee 2022InfoMat2022,4,12:0

13Achievements,challenges,and recommendations for waterbird conservation in China's coastal wetlands显示文摘China’s coastal wetlands provide breeding,migration stopover,and wintering habitats for about 230 waterbird species,which is more than a quarter of all waterbirds in the world.Large-scale and high intensity human activities have resulted in serious loss and degradation of coastal wetlands over the past half century,causing population declines in many waterbirds.Through a literature review and expert surveys,this article reviews conservation measures taken in recent decades to protect waterbirds in China’s coastal wetlands and provides recommendations for future conservation action from three aspects:policy and administration,habitat conservation and management,and multiparty participation.Over the past decades,many conservation legislation,regulations and action plans at the national level and more site-specific measures and interventions have been implemented,with notable improvement in the effectiveness in policy making and multi-stakeholder participation.Accordingly,some threats to waterbirds have been mitigated and many key sites for waterbirds have been designated as strictly protected nature reserves.However,some critical issues still remain,mostly related to habitat conservation and management,such as coastal wetland restoration,control of invasive Spartina alterniflora,control of environmental pollution,and improvement of artificial habitat quality.We highlight that protecting natural tidal wetlands and improving habitat quality are critical for the conservation of coastal waterbirds,especially those highly dependent on the intertidal wetlands.China has demonstrated strong commitment to ecological conservation and restoration for the future,in terms of both funding and policies for biodiversity and wetland ecosystems.It is important that this commitment to conserve coastal waterbirds is supported continuously by science-and evidence-based decisions and actions.Zhijun Ma Chi-Yeung Choi Xiaojing Gan Jing Li Yang Liu David S.Melville Tong Mu Theunis Piersma Zhengwang Zhang 2023Avian Research2023,14,3:0

15Structural insights into dimerization and activation of the mGlu2-mGlu3 and mGlu2-mGlu4 heterodimers显示文摘Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NAD+)is a central metabolite in cellular processes.Depletion of NAD+has been demonstrated to be a prevalent theme in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic immune responses.Short prokaryotic Argonaute proteins(Agos)are associated with NADase domain-containing proteins(TIR-APAZ or SIR2-APAZ)encoded in the same operon.They confer immunity against mobile genetic elements,such as bacteriophages and plasmids,by inducing NAD+depletion upon recognition of target nucleic acids.However,the molecular mechanisms underlying the activation of such prokaryotic NADase/Ago immune systems remain unknown.Here,we report multiple cryo-EM structures of NADase/Ago complexes from two distinct systems(TIR-APAZ/Ago and SIR2-APAZ/Ago).Target DNA binding triggers tetramerization of the TIR-APAZ/Ago complex by a cooperative self-assembly mechanism,while the heterodimeric SIR2-APAZ/Ago complex does not assemble into higher-order oligomers upon target DNA binding.However,the NADase activities of these two systems are unleashed via a similar closed-to-open transition of the catalytic pocket,albeit by different mechanisms.Furthermore,a functionally conserved sensor loop is employed to inspect the guide RNA–target DNA base pairing and facilitate the conformational rearrangement of Ago proteins required for the activation of these two systems.Overall,our study reveals the mechanistic diversity and similarity of Ago protein-associated NADase systems in prokaryotic immune response.Xinwei Wang Mu Wang Tuo Xu Ye Feng Qiang Shao Shuo Han Xiaojing Chu Yechun Xu Shuling Lin Qiang Zhao Beili Wu 2023Cell Research2023,33,10:0
