| 3 | Role of Microphysical Parameterizations with Droplet Relative Dispersion in IAP AGCM 4.1显示文摘Previous studies have shown that accurate descriptions of the cloud droplet effective radius(Re) and the autoconversion process of cloud droplets to raindrops(Ar) can effectively improve simulated clouds and surface precipitation, and reduce the uncertainty of aerosol indirect effects in GCMs. In this paper, we implement cloud microphysical schemes including two-moment Ar and Re considering relative dispersion of the cloud droplet size distribution into version 4.1 of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics' s atmospheric GCM(IAP AGCM 4.1), which is the atmospheric component of the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Earth System Model. Analysis of the effects of different schemes shows that the newly implemented schemes can improve both the simulated shortwave and longwave cloud radiative forcings, as compared to the standard scheme, in IAP AGCM 4.1. The new schemes also effectively enhance the large-scale precipitation, especially over low latitudes, although the influences of total precipitation are insignificant for different schemes. | 7 | Multi-class cancer classification through gene expression profiles: microRNA versus mRNA显示文摘Both microRNA (miRNA) and mRNA expression profiles are important methods for cancer type classification. A comparative study of their classification performance will be helpful in choosing the means of classification. Here we evaluated the classification performance of miRNA and mRNA profiles using a new data mining approach based on a novel SVM (Support Vector Machines) based recursive feature elimination (nRFE) algorithm. Computational experiments showed that information encoded in miRNAs is not sufficient to classify cancers; gut-derived samples cluster more accurately when using mRNA expression profiles compared with using miRNA profiles; and poorly differentiated tumors (PDT) could be classified by mRNA expression profiles at the accuracy of 100% versus 93.8% when using miRNA profiles. Furthermore, we showed that mRNA expression profiles have higher capacity in normal tissue classifications than miRNA. | 11 | Low rate of pre-exposure prophylaxis and post-exposure prophylaxis uptake and high prevalence of transmitted drug resistance among newly diagnosed primary HIV infections in Shenzhen, China: a real-world retrospective study显示文摘Background: Understanding the characteristics of newly diagnosed primary human deficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) infection in the context of the post-antiretroviral therapy era and HIV drug prophylaxis is essential for achieving the new target of 95-95-95-95 by 2025. This study reported the characteristics of newly diagnosed primary HIV-1 infection in Shenzhen.Methods: This is a real-world retrospective study. Eighty-seven newly diagnosed primary HIV-1-infected patients were recruited from January 2021 to March 2022 at the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen. Demographic, epidemiological, diagnostic, drug resistance, and medical data were described and analyzed.Results: Overall, 96.6% (84/87) of the newly identified primary HIV-1-infected patients were male, including 88.5% (77/87) men have sex with men (MSM), with a median age of 29.0 years (Q_(1)-Q_(3): 24.0-34.0 years);of these, 85.1% (74/87) reported high-risk sexual behaviors with casual partners. The rate of condom usage was only 28.7% (25/87). The overall rate of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) was 8.0% (7/87, including 4 PrEP and 3 PEP cases) around the potential exposure, although 41.4% of the patients had prior awareness of such interventions. Moreover, only 19.5% (17/87) had previously used PrEP or PEP. Of those, 58.8% (10/17) of the patients obtained drugs from the internet, and only 35.3% (6/17) reported good compliance. A total of 54.0% (47/87) of subjects were diagnosed by the HIV nucleic acid test. Acute retroviral syndrome appeared in 54.0% (47/87) of patients. The prevalence of transmitted drug resistance (TDR) mutation was 33.9% (19/56), including 6 (10.7%) against nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) plus non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI), 8 (14.3%) against NNRTI, and 5 (8.9%) against protease inhibitor (PI) only.Conclusions: Owing to the low utilization rate and incorrect usage of PrEP and PEP, massive efforts are needed to promote HIV-preventive strategies in the MSM population. | 12 | GIS-based evaluation of maize cultivar lodging resistance performance in target growing environments显示文摘Lodging in maize is one of the major problems in maize production worldwide,which causes serious yield and economic losses annually.By evaluating cultivar lodging resistance performance in target growing environments before cultivar extension and application,the risks and losses can be significantly reduced.In this study,a GIS-based quantitative method for evaluating maize cultivar lodging resistance performance in target growing environments was established based on full cognition of environment stress,cultivar resistance,and the interaction between them.At first,comprehensive environment lodging stress is measured by three factors:1)extreme wind event in maize vegetative stage which is the direct factor,2)soil potassium content in target growing environment which is an indirect factor affecting corn stem sturdiness,and 3)planting density which is a human influence factor.Quantification methods of extreme probability analysis,spatial interpolation,normalization,and so on were used.Then,maize cultivar lodging resistance was determined using cumulative frequency distribution analysis of tested lodging data.At last,an evaluation matrix was established combining environment lodging stress and cultivar lodging resistance together,which was very simple and easy to understand method and the result is promising providing good direct support in practical cultivar application.The method used in this study,at county-level,cultivar-level and stress-level with GIS,can facilitate the identification of better-adapted growing environments for a specific maize cultivar,and provide direct support for maize cultivar recommendation and extension,so as to reduce the risk and loss of lodging in maize.It is more easy-operational and feasible than traditional surveying approach,especially for large-scale spatial trend analysis.So it is of both academic significance in accelerating precision agriculture development and practical significance in improving maize cultivar application. | Mi Chunqiao Liu Zhe Zhang Xiaodong Peng Xiaoning Huang Bin | 2014 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2014,7,3: | 1 |
