12018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 2Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. 3Vertically Aligned Silicon Carbide Nanowires/Boron Nitride Cellulose Aerogel Networks Enhanced Thermal Conductivity and Electromagnetic Absorbing of Epoxy Composites显示文摘With the innovation of microelectronics technology, the heat dissipation problem inside the device will face a severe test. In this work, cellulose aerogel(CA) with highly enhanced thermal conductivity(TC) in vertical planes was successfully obtained by constructing a vertically aligned silicon carbide nanowires(SiC NWs)/boron nitride(BN) network via the ice template-assisted strategy. The unique network structure of SiC NWs connected to BN ensures that the TC of the composite in the vertical direction reaches 2.21 W m^(-1) K^(-1) at a low hybrid filler loading of 16.69 wt%, which was increased by 890% compared to pure epoxy(EP). In addition, relying on unique porous network structure of CA, EP-based composite also showed higher TC than other comparative samples in the horizontal direction. Meanwhile, the composite exhibits good electrically insulating with a volume electrical resistivity about 2.35 × 10^(11) Ω cm and displays excellent electromagnetic wave absorption performance with a minimum reflection loss of-21.5 dB and a wide effective absorption bandwidth(<-10 dB) from 8.8 to 11.6 GHz. 5A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 6Clinical features, survival and prognostic factors of primary testicular diffuse large B-cell lymphoma显示文摘Objective: To assess the clinical features, survival and prognostic factors of primary testicular diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL).Methods: A retrospective study of 37 patients with primary testicular DLBCL was carried out from November 2003 to May 2012. Their clinical features, survival and prognostic factors were analyzed.Results: During a median follow-up period of 39.8 months(5.4-93.0 months), the median progression-free survival(PFS) was 26.2 months(95% CI: 0-65 months) and the 3-year overall survival(OS) rate was 78.4%. Within the whole cohort, the factors significantly associated with a superior PFS were limited stage(stage I/II), lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) ≤245 U/L, international prognostic index(IPI) ≤1, primary tumor diameter <7.5 cm, and patients who had complete response(CR) and received doxorubicin-contained chemotherapy(P<0.05). There was a trend toward superior outcome for patients who received combined therapy(surgery/chemotherapy/radiotherapy)(P=0.055). Patients who had CR, primary tumor diameter <7.5 cm and IPI score ≤1 were significantly associated with longer PFS at multivariate analysis.Conclusions: Primary testicular DLBCL had poorer survival. CR, primary tumor diameter and IPI were independent prognostic factors. 9Utility of Droplet Digital PCR Assay for Quantitative Detection of Norovirus in Shellfish, from Production to Consumption in Guangxi, China显示文摘Objective Shellfish are recognized as important vehicles of norovirus-associated gastroenteritis. The present study aimed to monitor norovirus contamination in oysters along the farm-to-fork continuum in Guangxi, a major oyster production area in Southwestern China. Methods Oyster samples were collected monthly from farms, markets, and restaurants, from January to December 2016. Norovirus was detected and quantified by one-step reverse transcription-droplet digital polymerase chain reaction(RT-ddPCR). Results A total of 480 oyster samples were collected and tested for norovirus genogroups I and II. Norovirus was detected in 20.7% of samples, with genogroup II predominating. No significant difference was observed in norovirus prevalence among different sampling sites. The norovirus levels varied widely, with a geometric mean of 19,300 copies/g in digestive glands. Both norovirus prevalence and viral loads showed obvious seasonality, with a strong winter bias. Conclusion This study provides a systematic analysis of norovirus contamination ‘from the farm to the fork' in Guangxi. RT-ddPCR can be a useful tool for detection and quantification of low amounts of norovirus in the presence of inhibitors found particularly in foodstuffs. 11Addition of rituximab is not associated with survival benefit compared with CHOP alone for patients with stage I diffuse large B-cell lymphoma显示文摘Background:The role of rituximab in combination with CHOP regimen in patients with stage I diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL) remains to be defined.We aimed to compare CHOP plus rituximab(R-CHOP) with CHOP alone and determine the value of radiotherapy in these patients.Methods:Between 2003 and 2009,140 untreated patients with stage I DLBCL were retrospectively analyzed in this study.Results:Seventy-eight patients were treated in R-CHOP group and 62 in CHOP group.Ninety-one patients received additional radiotherapy at the end of chemotherapy.The different treatment groups were well-balanced with respect to baseline characteristics.Complete response(CR) rate was 77% both in R-CHOP and CHOP groups(P=0.945).After a median follow-up period of 56 months,patients received R-CHOP regimen had similar 5-year progression-free survival(PFS)(76%vs.85%;log-rank P=0.215)and 5-year overall survival(OS)(90%vs.96%;log-rank P=0.175) compared with those with CHOP alone.Patients with radiotherapy had significantly increased 5-year PFS compared with those who had chemotherapy alone(86%vs.71%;log-rank P=0.005).At multivariate analysis,patients who had CR(P=0.008) and received radiotherapy(P=0.003) were significantly associated with superior PFS.Conclusions:CHOP alone could be as effective as R-CHOP regimen and additional radiotherapy would be necessary for stage I or stage I non-bulky DLBCL patients.Bo Jia Yuankai Shi Suyi Kang Sheng Yang Shaoxuan Hu Yexiong Li Mei Dong Weihu Wang Jianliang Yang Liqiang Zhou Peng Liu Shengyu Zhou Yan Qin Lin Gui Changgong Zhang Hua Lin Shanshan Chen Lin Wang Xiaohui He 2015Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015,27,5:2
12Cis-2-dodecenoic Acid Mediates Its Synergistic Effect with Triazoles by Interfering with Efflux Pumps in Fluconazole-resistant Candida albicans显示文摘Objective To evaluate the synergy of the Burkholderia signaling molecule cis-2-dodecenoic acid(BDSF) and fluconazole(FLU) or itraconazole(ITRA) against two azole-resistant C. albicans clinical isolates in vitro and in vivo. Methods Minimum inhibitory concentrations(MICs) of antibiotics against two azole-resistant C. albicans were measured by the checkerboard technique, E-test, and time-kill assay. In vivo antifungal synergy testing was performed on mice. Analysis of the relative gene expression levels of the strains was conducted by quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction(qR T-PCR). Results BDSF showed highly synergistic effects in combination with FLU or ITRA with a fractional inhibitory concentration index of ≤ 0.08. BDSF was not cytotoxic to normal human foreskin fibroblast cells at concentrations of up to 300 μg/mL. The qR T-PCR results showed that the combination of BDSF and FLU/ITRA significantly inhibits the expression of the efflux pump genes CDR1 and MDR1 via suppression of the transcription factors TAC1 and MRR1, respectively, when compared with FLU or ITRA alone. No dramatic difference in the mR NA expression levels of ERG1, ERG11, and UPC2 was found, which indicates that the drug combinations do not significantly interfere with UPC2-mediated ergosterol levels. In vivo experiments revealed that combination therapy can be an effective therapeutic approach to treat candidiasis. 14Magnetic resonance (MR) safety and compatibility of a novel iron bioresorbable scaffold显示文摘Fully bioresorbable scaffolds have been designed to overcome the limitations of traditional drug-eluting stents(DESs),which permanently cage the native vessel wall and pose possible complications.The ultrathin-strut designed sirolimus-eluting iron bioresorbable coronary scaffold system(IBS)shows comparable mechanical properties to traditional DESs and exhibits an adaptive degradation profile during target vessel healing,which makes it a promising candidate in all-comers patient population.For implanted medical devices,magnetic resonance(MR)imaging properties,including MR safety and compatibility,should be evaluated before its clinical use,especially for devices with intrinsic ferromagnetism.In this study,MR safety and compatibility of the IBS scaffold were evaluated based on a series of well-designed in-vitro,ex-vivo and in-vivo experiments,considering possible risks,including scaffold movement,over-heating,image artifact,and possible vessel injury,under typical MR condition.Traditional ASTM standards for MR safety and compatibility evaluation of intravascular devices were referred,but not only limited to that.The unique time-relevant MR properties of bioresorbable scaffolds were also discussed.Possible forces imposed on the scaffold during MR scanning and MR image artifacts gradually decreased along with scaffold degradation/absorption.Rigorous experiments designed based on a scientifically based rationale revealed that the IBS scaffold is MR conditional,though not MR compatible before complete absorption.The methodology used in the present study can give insight into the MR evaluation of magnetic scaffolds(bioresorbable)or stents(permanent).Dong Bian Li Qin Wenjiao Lin Danni Shen Haiping Qi Xiaoli Shi Gui Zhang Hongwei Liu Han Yang Jin Wang Deyuan Zhang Yufeng Zheng 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,2:2

20Fabrication of multi-anionic high-entropy carbonitride ultra-high-temperature ceramics by a green and low-cost process with excellent mechanical properties显示文摘As a new category of ultra-high-temperature ceramics(UHTCs),multi-anionic high-entropy(HE)carbonitride UHTCs are expected to have better comprehensive performance than conventional UHTCs.However,how to realize the green and low-cost synthesis of high-quality multi-anionic HE carbonitride UHTC powders and prepare bulk ceramics with excellent mechanical properties still faces great challenges.In this work,a green,low-cost,and controllable preparation process of(Ti_(0.2)Zr_(0.2)Hf_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2))C,N_(1-x) powders is achieved by sol-gel combined with the carbothermal reduction/nitridation method for the first time.The as-synthesized(Ti_(0.2)Zr_(0.2)Hf_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2))C_(x)N_(1-x) powders possess high compositional uniformity and controllable particle size.In addition,the obtained bulk ceramics prepared at 1800℃exhibit superior fracture toughness(Kic)of 5.39±0.16 MPa·m^(1/2) and high nanohardnesof 35.75±1.23 GPa,lastic modulus(E)of 566.70±8.68 GPa,and flexural strength of 487±41 MPa.This study provides a feasible strategy for preparing the high-performance HE carbonitride ceramics in a more environmentally friendly and economical manner.Liansen Xia Shun Dong Jianqiang Xin Kaixuan Gui Peitao Hu Yongshuai Xie Dongdong Yang Xinghong Zhang Yanchun Zhou 2023Journal of Advanced Ceramics2023,12,6:1
