1Air pollution characteristics and their relationship with emissions and meteorology in the Yangtze River Delta region during 2014–2016显示文摘With rapid economic growth and urbanization, the Yangtze River Delta(YRD) region in China has experienced serious air pollution challenges. In this study, we analyzed the air pollution characteristics and their relationship with emissions and meteorology in the YRD region during 2014–2016. In recent years, the concentrations of all air pollutants, except O3,decreased. Spatially, the PM2.5, PM10, SO2, and CO concentrations were higher in the northern YRD region, and NO2 and O3 were higher in the central YRD region. Based on the number of non-attainment days(i.e., days with air quality index greater than 100), PM2.5 was the largest contributor to air pollution in the YRD region, followed by O3, PM10, and NO2.However, particulate matter pollution has declined gradually, while O3 pollution worsened.Meteorological conditions mainly influenced day-to-day variations in pollutant concentrations. PM2.5 concentration was inversely related to wind speed, while O3 concentration was positively correlated with temperature and negatively correlated with relative humidity.The air quality improvement in recent years was mainly attributed to emission reductions.During 2014–2016, PM2.5, PM10, SO2, NOx, CO, NH3, and volatile organic compound(VOC)emissions in the YRD region were reduced by 26.3%, 29.2%, 32.4%, 8.1%, 15.9%, 4.5%, and0.3%, respectively. Regional transport also contributed to the air pollution. During regional haze periods, pollutants from North China and East China aggravated the pollution in the YRD region. 2A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 3Epidemiology of urticaria in China:a population-based study显示文摘Background:Urticaria is a common skin disease characterized by episodes of wheals,and it has a negative effect on patients’quality of life.Large-scale population-based epidemiological studies of urticaria are scarce in China.The aim of this survey was to determine the prevalence,clinical forms,and risk factors of urticaria in the Chinese population.Methods:This survey was conducted in 35 cities from 31 provinces,autonomous regions,and municipalities of China.Two to three communities in each city were selected in this investigation.Participants completed questionnaires and received dermatological examinations.We analyzed the prevalence,clinical forms,and risk factors of urticaria.Results:In total,44,875 questionnaires were distributed and 41,041 valid questionnaires were collected(17,563 male and 23,478 female participants).The lifetime prevalence of urticaria was 7.30%,with 8.26%in female and 6.34%in male individuals(P<0.05).The point prevalence of urticaria was 0.75%,with 0.79%in female and 0.71%in male individuals(P<0.05).Concomitant angioedema was found in 6.16%of patients.Adults had a higher prevalence of urticaria than adolescents and children.Living in urban areas,exposure to pollutants,an anxious or depressed psychological status,a personal and family history of allergy,thyroid diseases,and Helicobacter pylori infection were associated with a higher prevalence of urticaria.Smoking was correlated with a reduced risk of urticaria.Conclusion:This study demonstrated that the lifetime prevalence of urticaria was 7.30%and the point prevalence was 0.75%in the Chinese population;women had a higher prevalence of urticaria than men.Various factors were correlated with urticaria.Jiaqing Li Dandan Mao Shuoshuo Liu Ping Liu Jing Tian Chenhong Xue Xiaojing Liu Ruiqun Qi Bingxue Bai Jianjun Nie Siqi Ye Yu Wang Yuye Li Qing Sun Juan Tao Shuping Guo Hong Fang Jianqin Wang Qiri Mu Quanzhong Liu Yan Ding Jianzhong Zhang 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,11:6
4Microbial Community Composition and Function in Sediments from the Pearl River Mouth Basin显示文摘This study was conducted to characterize the diversity and function of microbial communities in marine sediments of the Pearl River Mouth Basin(PRMB)in the South China Sea.The results showed that the bacterial and archaeal communities varied greatly with depth.Proteobacteria in bacterial communities and Nitrososphaeria and Woesearchaeota in archaeal communities were dominant in the shallow sediments(1-40 cm),while Chloroflexi in bacterial communities and Bathyarchaeia in archaeal communities were dominant in the deep sediments(50-200 cm).Regarding ecological functions based on the metatranscriptomic data,genes involved in various pathways of nitrogen metabolism and sulfur metabolism were observed in the tested sediment samples.Metagenomic analysis revealed that Proteobacteria contribute the most to nearly all genes involved in nitrogen and sulfur metabolism.Moreover,Thaumarchaeota contribute the most to certain genes involved in nitrification,denitrification and assimilatory sulfate reduction pathways.The most abundant bacterial genus,Candidatus Scalindua,is crucial for nitrification,dissimilatory nitrate reduction,denitrification and assimilatory sulfate reduction pathways.CHEN Ye MI Tiezhu LIU Yueteng LI Siqi ZHEN Yu 2020Journal of Ocean University of China2020,19,4:2
5Characterization of microbial communities in sediments of the South Yellow Sea显示文摘Illumina sequencing and quantitative PCR(qPCR)based on the 16 S ribosomal RNA(rRNA)gene were conducted to characterize the vertical distribution of bacterial and archaeal communities in the sediments of two sites from the South Yellow Sea.Both bacterial and archaeal communities showed a clear stratified distribution with sediment depth.The microbial communities in the upper layers were distinct from those in the deeper layers;the relative abundances of sequences of Thaumarchaeota,Gammaproteobacteria,and Actinobacteria were higher in the upper than in the deeper sediments,whereas the sequences of Bathyarchaeia,Lokiarchaeota,Euryarchaeota,Chloroflexi,and Deltaproteobacteria were relatively more abundant in the deeper sediments.Sediment depth and total organic carbon(TOC)can significantly influence both the bacterial and archaeal communities.Furthermore,bacterial and archaeal groups potentially involved in nitrogen,sulfur,and methane metabolism were detected in both sites.In our study,both ammonia-oxidizing bacteria(Nitrospira)and ammonia-oxidizing archaea(Candidatus Nitrosopumilus)were responsible for ammonia oxidization.Additionally,sulfur-reducing bacteria SEEP-SRB1 forming consortia with anaerobic methane-oxidizing archaea ANME-2 a-2 b were capable of anaerobic methane oxidation(AOM)in the 3400-02 sediment samples.Ye CHEN Siqi LI Xiaoqing XU Manman MA Tiezhu MI Yu ZHEN Zhigang YU 2021Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,3:2
6Structural variation and parallel evolution of apomixis in citrus during domestication and diversification显示文摘Apomixis,or asexual seed formation,is prevalent in Citrinae via a mechanism termed nucellar or adventitious embryony.Here,multiple embryos of a maternal genotype form directly from nucellar cells in the ovule and can outcompete the developing zygotic embryo as they utilize the sexually derived endosperm for growth.Whilst nucellar embryony enables the propagation of clonal plants of maternal genetic constitution,it is also a barrier to effective breeding through hybridization.To address the genetics and evolution of apomixis in Citrinae,a chromosome-level genome of the Hongkong kumquat(Fortunella hindsii)was assembled following a genome-wide variation map including structural variants(SVs)based on 234 Citrinae accessions.This map revealed that hybrid citrus cultivars shelter genome-wide deleterious mutations and SVs into heterozygous states free from recessive selection,which may explain the capability of nucellar embryony in most cultivars during Citrinae diversification.Analyses revealed that parallel evolution may explain the repeated origin of apomixis in different genera of Citrinae.Within Fortunella,we found that apomixis of some varieties originated via introgression.In apomictic Fortunella,the locus associated with apomixis contains the FhRWP gene,encoding an RWP-RK domain-containing protein previously shown to be required for nucellar embryogenesis in Citrus.We found the heterozygous SV in the FhRWP and CitRWP promoters from apomictic Citrus and Fortunella,due to either two or three miniature inverted transposon element(MITE)insertions.A transcription factor,FhARID,encoding an AT-rich interaction domain-containing protein binds to the MITEs in the promoter of apomictic varieties,which facilitates induction of nucellar embryogenesis.This study provides evolutionary genomic and molecular insights into apomixis in Citrinae and has potential ramifications for citrus breeding.Nan Wang Xietian Song Junli Ye Siqi Zhang Zhen Cao Chenqiao Zhu Jianbing Hu Yin Zhou Yue Huang Shuo Cao Zhongjie Liu Xiaomeng Wu Lijun Chai Wenwu Guo Qiang Xu Brandon S.Gaut Anna M.G.Koltunow Yongfeng Zhou Xiuxin Deng 2022National Science Review2022,9,10:1

9Blockade of T helper 17 cell function ameliorates recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection in mice显示文摘Clostridioides difficile infection(CDI)is a common infection of the gastrointestinal tract.Typically,20%–30%of CDI patients experience recurrent C.difficile infection(RCDI).Although the role of Th17 in infectious and inflammatory diseases including CDI has gained attention,reports on the correlation between Th17&RCDI are scarce.In this study,CDI&RCDI mice models were challenged with C.difficile.Serum lactic acid dehydrogenase,inflammatory factor levels,reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction,western blot analysis,hematoxylin&eosin staining,immunohistochemistry,flow cytometry analysis,&enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were performed on the CDI,RCDI,&control group mice.The results showed more serious clinical manifestations in the RCDI group compared with those in the CDI group.More severe gut barrier disruption&higher degree of microbiota translocation were observed in the RCDI group compared with those in the CDI group.Moreover,extremely severe apoptosis was observed in HCT-116 cells incubated with the serum from RCDI mice model.In addition,higher levels of Th17&IL-17 were detected in the blood or serum from the RCDI mouse model.Treatment with RORγt small molecule inhibitor SR1001 increased the expression of occludin,decreased the apoptotic rate of HCT-116 cells,&decreased the concentrations of Th17&IL-17.Concisely,Th17&IL-17 are potential indicators of RCDI&may serve as therapeutic targets for RCDI treatment.This study lays the foundation for future research on RCDI diagnosis&treatment.Siqi Wang Wenlin Deng Fang Li Ye Chen Pu Wang 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,10:1

14Printable and stable all-polymer solar cells based on non-conjugated polymer acceptors with excellent mechanical robustness显示文摘All-polymer solar cells(all-PSCs)trigger enormous commercial applications,and great progress has been made in recent years.However,from small-area devices to large-area modules,the poor adaption of the materials for printing methods and the large efficiency loss are still great challenges.Herein,three novel non-conjugated polymer acceptors(PTH-Y,PTClm-Yand PTClo-Y)are developed for all-PSCs.It can be found that non-conjugated polymer acceptors can effectively minimize the technique and efficiency gaps between small-area spin-coating and large-area blade-printing method,which can facilitate the preparation of large-area flexible device.By directly inheriting the spin-coating condition,the blade-coating processed device based on PTCloY achieves an impressive power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 12.42%,comparable to the spin-coating processed one(12.74%).Such a non-conjugated polymer system also can well tolerate large-scale preparation and flexible substrate.Notable PCE of 11.94%for large-area rigid device and 11.56%for large-area flexible device are obtained,which is the highest value for large-area flexible all-PSCs fabricated by blade-coating.In addition,the non-conjugated PTClo-Y-based devices show excellent thermal stability and mechanical robustness.These results demonstrate that the non-conjugated polymer acceptors are potential candidates for the fabrication of highly-efficient,large-area and robust flexible all-PSCs by printing methods.Dong Chen Siqi Liu Xiaotian Hu Feiyan Wu Jiabin Liu Kangkang Zhou Long Ye Lie Chen Yiwang Chen 2022Science China Chemistry2022,65,1:1

18Methanesulphonic acid in aerosols along a cruise path from China to the Arctic Ocean: Spatial and temporal distributions and link with iodine显示文摘Methanesulphonic acid(MSA) may play an important role in the climate change occurring in response to the warming of the Arctic Ocean. However, the spatial and temporal distributions of MSA in this region are poorly understood. We report on the MSA content of aerosols over oceans measured during the 3rd Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition(CHINARE2008) from July to September, 2008. Results show that the aerosol MSA content can be influenced by multiple processes in different areas. In coastal regions, airborne pollutants, especially nitric oxide, may strongly influence the oxidation of dimethyl sulfide(DMS) and increase the concentration of aerosol MSA. In remote areas of the Pacific and Arctic oceans, changes in plankton will indirectly influence the airborne MSA concentration. Moreover, we found fairly similar trends in the variation of the concentrations of total iodine(TI) and MSA in the Arctic during CHINARE2008, suggesting that iodine and MSA may come from similar sources in the Arctic. Compared with the findings from other two cruises, CHINARE1999 and CHINARE2012, we found that sea ice is an extremely important factor that influences the aerosol MSA content in the Arctic. 19Distinct taxonomic and ecological functions of microbiome in sediments of different depth in Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea显示文摘Microorganisms in sediments are critical to marine ecosystems.The microbial communities in marine sediments of the Bohai Sea(BS)and Yellow Sea(YS),the eastern Chinese marginal seas,were uncovered in employing the metagenomic approach.In addition,the taxonomic and functional compositions of microbes were compared among various sediment core depths.Results showing the compositions,diversities,and functions of the microbial communities showed no significant variations with sea areas,and significant seasonal variations was observed in station 3500-7 only on functions of the microbial communities.Moreover,the compositions,diversities,and functions of the microbial communities changed noticeably in different sediment depths in close correlation with physical and chemical properties of sediments.However,the large fraction of the variation in functional communities remained unexplained.From bioinformatic analysis of the metagenomic data,the carbon-metabolismrelated genes such as glycosyl transferase(GT),glycoside hydrolase(GH),and carbohydrate esterase(CE)genes were rich in the microbial community,especially in the top sediment depth.Additionally,in this N-polluted habitat,nitrification and anaerobic ammonia oxidation(anammox)were dominant in the top sediment depth,whereas dissimilatory nitrate reduction to ammonium(DNRA)and denitrification were dominant in the middle and bottom depth,respectively.Further identification of possible biogeochemical links suggested that Gammaproteobacteria,Alphaproteobacteria,Nitrospirae,Nitrospinae,Chloroflexi,and Methanomicrobia might promote effective circulation of carbon and nitrogen cycling.This study expanded our knowledge about the structure and functional potential of microbial communities associated with different sediment depth,and provided further comprehensive information on element cycles in marine environments.Siqi LI Ye CHEN Lun SONG Tiezhu MI Yu ZHEN Zhigang YU 2023Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2023,41,5:0
20Revisiting the ionic diffusion mechanism in Li_(3)PS_(4) via the joint usage of geometrical analysis and bond valence method显示文摘Inorganic solid electrolytes have obvious advantages on safety and electrochemical stability compared to organic liquid electrolytes,but the advance on high ionic conductivity of typical electrolytes is still undergoing.Although the first-principles calculation in the ion migration simulation is an important strategy to develop high-performance solid electrolyte,the process is very time-consuming.Here,we propose an effective method by combining the geometrical analysis and bond valance sum calculation to obtain an approximate minimum energy path preliminarily,in parallel to pave the way for the interoperability of low-precision and high-precision ion transport calculation.Taking a promising electrolyte Li_(3)PS_(4) as an example,we revisit its Li-ionic transport behavior.Our calculated Li-ion pathways and the activation energies(the corresponding values:1.09 eV vs.0.88 eV vs.0.86 eV)in γ-,β- and α-Li_(3)PS_(4) are consistent with the ones obtained from the first-principles calculations.The variations of the position of P-ions lead the rearrangement of the host PS_(4) tetrahedron,affecting the diffusion positions of Li-ions and further enabling high Li^(+) conductivity in β-Li_(3)PS_(4).Li Pan Liwen Zhang Anjiang Ye Shuting Chi Zheyi Zou Bing He Lanli Chen Qian Zhao Da Wang Siqi Shi 2019Journal of Materiomics2019,5,4:0
