| 1 | Enhancement of oral bioavailability and anti-Parkinsonian efficacy of resveratrol through a nanocrystal formulation显示文摘Resveratrol(RES),a non-flavonoid polyphenol extracted from a wide variety of plants,exhibits neuroprotective activities against Parkinson’s disease(PD).However,undesirable water solubility of RES reduces its oral bioavailability and demonstrates lowefficacy in blood and brain,thus limiting its application.In present study,a nanocrystal formulation of RES(RES-NCs)was developed to enhance its oral bioavailability and delivery into brain for PD treatment.RES-NCs were fabricated with hydroxypropyl methylcellulose(HPMC)stabilizer via antisolvent precipitation approach.The obtained RES-NCs displayed the particle size of 222.54±1.66 nm,the PDI of 0.125±0.035,the zeta potential of−9.41±0.37mV,and a rapid in vitro dissolution rate.Molecular dynamics simulation of RES and HPMC revealed an interaction energy of−68.09 kJ/mol and a binding energy of−30.98±0.388 kJ/mol,indicating that the spontaneous binding between the two molecules is through van der Waals forces.RES-NCs conferred enhanced cellular uptake as well as improved permeability relative to pure RES.In addition,RES-NCs were able to protect neurons against cytotoxicity induced by MPP+.Meanwhile,RES-NCs exerted no significant toxic effects on zebrafish embryos and larvae,and did not influence their survival and hatching rates.When orally administered to rats,RES-NCs exhibited more favorable pharmacokinetics than pure RES,with higher plasma and brain concentrations.More importantly,MPTP-induced PD mice showed notable improvements in behavior,attenuated dopamine deficiency,and elevated levels of dopamine and its metabolites after the treatment with RES-NCs.Furthermore,immunoblot analysis revealed that the neuroprotective role of RES-NCsmay be at least partially mediated by Akt/Gsk3βsignaling pathway.Taken altogether,RES-NCs can serve as a potential treatment modality for PD,offering means of improving RES oral bioavailability and brain accumulation. | Sha Xiong Wei Liu Yile Zhou Yousheng Mo Yao Liu Xiaojia Chen Huafeng Pan Dongsheng Yuan QiWang Tongkai Chen | 2020 | Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2020,15,4: | 3 |
| 2 | Evaluation of triage strategies for high-risk human papillomavirus-positive women in cervical cancer screening:A multicenter randomized controlled trial in different resource settings in China显示文摘Objective:We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of different triage strategies for high-risk human papillomavirus(hrHPV)-positive women in primary healthcare settings in China.Methods:This study was undertaken in 11 rural and 9 urban sites.Women aged 35-64 years old were enrolled.HrHPV-positive women were randomly allocated to liquid-based cytology(LBC),visual inspection with acetic acid and Lugol’s iodine(VIA/VILI)(rural only)triage,or directly referred to colposcopy(direct COLP).At 24 months,hrHPV testing,LBC and VIA/VILI were conducted for combined screening.Results:In rural sites,1,949 hrHPV-positive women were analyzed.A total of 852,218 and 480 women were randomly assigned to direct COLP,LBC and VIA/VILI.At baseline,colposcopy referral rates of LBC or VIA/VILI triage could be reduced by 70%-80%.LBC(n=3 and n=7)or VIA/VILI(n=8 and n=26)could significantly decrease the number of colposcopies needed to detect one cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN)2 or worse and CIN3+compared with direct COLP(n=14 and n=23).For the 24-month cumulative detection rate of CIN2+,VIA/VILI triage was 0.50-fold compared with LBC triage and 0.46-fold with the direct COLP.When stratified by age,baseline LBC triage+performed best(P<0.001),peaking among women aged 35-44 years(Ptrend=0.002).In urban sites,1,728 women were hrHPV genotyping test positive.A total of 408,571 and 568women were randomly assigned to direct COLP for HPV16/18+,direct COLP for other hrHPV subtypes+,and LBC triage for other hrHPV subtypes+.LBC(n=12 and n=31)significantly decreased the number of colposcopies needed to detect one CIN2+and CIN3+compared with direct COLP(n=14 and n=44).HPV16/18+increased the 24-month cumulative detection rate of CIN2+(17.89%,P<0.001).Conclusions:LBC triage for hrHPV-positive women in rural settings and direct COLP for HPV16/18+women and LBC triage for other hrHPV subtype+women in urban settings might be feasible strategies. | Le Dang Linghua Kong Yuqian Zhao Yi Dai Li Ma Lihui Wei Shulan Zhang Jihong Liu Mingrong Xi Long Chen Xianzhi Duan Qing Xiao Guzhalinuer Abulizi Guonan Zhang Ying Hong Qi Zhou Xing Xie Li Li Mayinuer Niyazi Zhifen Zhang Jiyu Tuo Yiling Ding Youlin Qiao Jinghe Lang | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2022,34,5: | 2 |
| 3 | Clinical characteristics and prognostic values of 1p32.3 deletion detected through fluorescence in situ hybridization in patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma: a single-center study in China显示文摘This study aimed to investigate the prevalence,clinical characteristics,and prognostic impact of 1p32.3 deletion in patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (MM).A retrospective analysis was conducted on 411 patients with newly diagnosed MM;among which,270 received bortezomib-based therapies,and 141 received thalidomide-based therapies.Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) was performed to detect six cytogenetic abnormalities,namely,del(1p32.3),gain(1q21),del(17p13),del(13q14),t(4;14),and t(11;14).Results showed that 8.3% of patients with MM were detected with del(1p32.3) and had significantly more bone marrow plasma cells (P =0.025),higher β2-microglobulin levels (P =0.036),and higher lactate dehydrogenase levels (P =0.042) than those without del(1p32.3).Univariate analysis showed that patients with del(1p32.3) under thalidomide-based therapies were strongly associated with short progression-free survival (PFS) (median PFS 11.6 vs.31.2 months,P =0.002) and overall survival (OS) (median OS 16.8 vs.45.9 months,P < 0.001).Multivariate analysis revealed that del(1p32.3) remained a powerful independent factor with worse PFS (P =0.006) and OS (P =0.016) for patients under thalidomide-based treatments.Patients with del(1 p32.3) under bortezomib-based treatments tended to have short PFS and OS.In conclusion,del(1p32.3) is associated with short PFS and OS in patients with MM who received thalidomide-or bortezomib-based treatments. | Huanping Wang Haitao Meng Jinghan Wang Yinjun Lou Yile Zhou Peipei Lin Fenglin Li Lin Liu Huan Xu Min Yang Jie Jin | 2020 | Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,3: | 2 |

| 6 | Extraordinary thermal conductivity of polyvinyl alcohol composite by aligning densified carbon fiber via magnetic field显示文摘Thermal interface materials(TIMs)with high through-plane thermal conductivity are urgently desired to avoid overheating of high-power density electronics.Introducing and aligning fillers in polymer matrixes via magnetic field is a promising method to improve the thermal conductivity of the polymer.However,either the fillers need to be modified with magnetic particles or a strong magnetic field is needed for good alignment in high filler content.This prevents further improvement of the through-plane thermal conductivity.Herein,mesophase pitch-based carbon fibers(MPCFs)with a content as high as 76 wt.%are aligned vertically in water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)under a low magnetic field(~0.4 T),forming a vertically aligned MPCF(VAMPCF)/PVA composite with an extraordinary through-plane thermal conductivity of 86 W/(m·K),which is higher than that of many alloys.In addition,both theoretical and experimental results demonstrate that the critical intensity of the magnetic field needed for good alignment of the fillers depends on their size and magnetic susceptibility.Furthermore,the water solubility of PVA makes it easy to recycle MPCFs.This study offers an inspired venue to develop excellent and eco-friendly TIMs to meet ever increasing demand in heat dissipation for electronics. | Xiaoxiao Guo Shujian Cheng Bo Yan Yile Li Yinghui Zhou Weiwei Cai Yufeng Zhang Xue-ao Zhang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,2: | 1 |

| 9 | Inhibition of glycogen synthase kinase 3βimproves cognitive function in aged mice by upregulating claudin presences in cerebral endothelial cells显示文摘Glycogen synthase kinase-3β(GSK-3β),a serine/threonine protein kinase,is widely distributed in mammalian brains.Since GSK-3βplays a vital role in the development of neurodegenerative disorders,the present study was designed to investigate the role of GSK-3βin the blood-brain barrier(BBB)permeability in aged mice.Morris water maze test was used to examine mouse cognitive function.BBB permeability was examined by the leakage of fluorescence signals of low-molecular weight dextran.GSK-3βinhibitor,4-benzyl-2-methyl-1,2,4-thiadiazolidine-3,5-dione(TDZD-8),was administrated in aged mice and in cultured mouse brain microvascular endothelial cells(bEnd.3).Compared with young mice,aged mice had increased leftover signals of dextran in the hippocampus and a lower score in the maze test,suggesting that aged mice have abnormal leakage of BBB and cognitive dysfunction.The protein expression of Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)was increased,whereas the protein expressions of junction proteins(claudinl and claudin5)were reduced in endothelial cells of BBB in aged mice.Phosphorylated level of serine 9,an inhibitory residue in GSK-3βprotein,was decreased.TDZD-8 treatment downregulated TLR4 protein expression,upregulated claudinl and claudin5 protein expressions,and significantly improved cognitive function in aged mice.In bEnd.3 cells,TDZD-8 treatment reduced TLR4 expression and increased claudin5 expression in cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharides.In conclusion,the inhibition of GSK-3βactivity downregulates aging-induced TLR4 expression and restores the BBB integrity,resulting in the improvement of cognitive function in aged mice. | Tao Liang Huihui Ju Yile Zhou Yajie Yang Yi Shi Hao Fang | 2020 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,4: | 0 |

| 12 | Ultrafast quasi-three-dimensional imaging显示文摘Understanding laser induced ultrafast processes with complex three-dimensional(3D)geometries and extreme property evolution offers a unique opportunity to explore novel physical phenomena and to overcome the manufacturing limitations.Ultrafast imaging offers exceptional spatiotemporal resolution and thus has been considered an effective tool.However,in conventional single-view imaging techniques,3D information is projected on a two-dimensional plane,which leads to significant information loss that is detrimental to understanding the full ultrafast process.Here,we propose a quasi-3D imaging method to describe the ultrafast process and further analyze spatial asymmetries of laser induced plasma.Orthogonally polarized laser pulses are adopted to illuminate reflection-transmission views,and binarization techniques are employed to extract contours,forming the corresponding two-dimensional matrix.By rotating and multiplying the two-dimensional contour matrices obtained from the dual views,a quasi-3D image can be reconstructed.This successfully reveals dual-phase transition mechanisms and elucidates the diffraction phenomena occurring outside the plasma.Furthermore,the quasi-3D image confirms the spatial asymmetries of the picosecond plasma,which is difficult to achieve with two-dimensional images.Our findings demonstrate that quasi-3D imaging not only offers a more comprehensive understanding of plasma dynamics than previous imaging methods,but also has wide potential in revealing various complex ultrafast phenomena in related fields including strong-field physics,fluid dynamics,and cutting-edge manufacturing. | Yiling Lian Lan Jiang Jingya Sun Jiadong Zhou Yao Zhou | 2023 | International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2023,5,4: | 0 |
| 13 | Effects of Mutation and Hybridization on Breeding of Super High Yield Wheat Varieties显示文摘In order to develop high quality wheat varieties with super high yield,a theory which improved the genetic difference between parents by performing radiation mutation on them to enhance heterosis was proposed. The dry seeds treated and planted last year were radiated frequently by X- ray from 2003 to 2004. Then the dry seeds were radiated by high energy X ray combined with nuclear magnetic resonance from 2005 to 2007. We have treated the dry seeds repeatedly for 3 years and gained a variety of aberrant plants. These mutants were used as parents that were hybridized with the best plants in field. It was shown that a lot of mutant plants appeared in the filial generations. After that,we selected big grains and super big grains among them. The result showed that,middle stem plants with big grains and low stem plants with big grains appeared. This phenomenon might be due to the breakthrough of linkage relationship between big grain trait and high stem trait. | 14 | 中国阴阳文化背景下的躯体症状障碍1例并文献复习显示文摘躯体症状障碍(somatic symptom disorder,SSD)的特征是患者长期对各种躯体症状感到过度的担忧,感到十分痛苦,明显影响其社会功能及个人生活。SSD患者的临床表现与其文化背景存在联系;本例SSD患者在躯体检查时未见任何异常,但受到我国传统阴阳文化的影响其临床表现具有显著的中华文化色彩,以与中华传统阴阳文化联系紧密的性功能障碍和心境障碍为主。笔者采用汉密尔顿焦虑量表、汉密尔顿抑郁量表及国际勃起功能问卷表分别对患者的焦虑情绪、抑郁情绪及性功能进行评价,分值分别为32,33及9。经5周的文拉法辛和米氮平联合用药治疗,临床症状得到显著改善。我国SSD患者的临床表现有时具有明显的中华阴阳文化色彩,在临床工作中很容易被误诊,临床医生应对此提高警惕。此外,文拉法辛和米氮平联合用药对以慢性疼痛及性功能障碍为主要表现的SSD患者可能具有较好的疗效。 | CHENG Peng SHI Yiling XU Lizhi ZHOU Ying LIWeihui | 2020 | 中南大学学报(医学版)2020,45,9: | 0 |
| 15 | Telocytes reduce oxidative stress by downregulating DUOX2 expression in inflamed lungs of mice显示文摘Telocytes(TCs),a novel type of interstitial cells,have been found to participate in tissue protection and repair.In this study,we investigated the antioxidative effects of TCs in inflamed lungs of mice.Acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS)mice were used as models of inflamed lungs of mice.Gene sequencing was used to screen the differentially expressed miRNAs in TCs after lipopolysaccharide(LPS)stimulation.AntagomiR-146a-5p-pretreated TCs were first injected into mice,and antioxidant activity of TCs was estimated.TCs,RAW264.7 cells,and MLE-12 cells were collected for the detection of expressions of NOX1–4,DUOX1–2,SOD1–3,GPX1–2,CAT,Nrf2,miR-146a-5p,and miR-21a-3p after LPS stimulation.Silencing miRNAs were delivered to examine the involved signaling pathways.Oxidative stress was examined by measuring malondialdehyde(MDA)levels.We found that microRNA-146a-5p and microRNA-21a-3p were upregulated in TCs after LPS stimulation.ARDS mice that were preinfused with TCs had lower lung tissue injury scores,lung wet-dry ratios,white blood cell counts in alveolar lavage fluid and lower MDA concentrations in lung tissue.However,in antagomiR-146a-5p-pretreated ARDS mice,the infusion of TCs caused no corresponding changes.After LPS stimulation,DUOX2 and MDA concentrations were downregulated in TCs,while DUOX2 was restored by antagomiR-146a-5p in TCs.Dual-luciferase reporter assay confirmed that CREB1 was downregulated by miR-146a-5p,while DUOX2 was downregulated by CREB1,which was confirmed by treating TCs with a specific CREB1 inhibitor.This study demonstrates that LPS stimulation upregulates miR-146a-5p in TCs,which downregulates the CREB1/DUOX2 pathway,resulting in a decrease in oxidative stress in cultured TCs.TCs reduce LPS-induced oxidative stress by decreasing DUOX2 in inflamed lungs of mice. | Haihong Tang Tao Liang Yile Zhou Huihui Ju Dongli Song Hao Fang | 2022 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,4: | 0 |
