| 2 | Principles and construction of MSD adder in ternary optical computer显示文摘The two remarkable features of ternary values and a massive unit with thousands bits of parallel computation will make the ternary optical computer (TOC) with modified signed-digit (MSD) adder more powerful and e?cient than ever before for numerical calculations. Based on the decrease-radix design presented previously, a TOC can satisfy either a user requiring huge capacity for data calculations or one with a moderate amount of data, if it is equipped with a prepared adder. Furthermore, with the application of pipelined operations and the proposed data editing technique, the e?ciency of the prepared adder can be greatly improved, so that each calculated result can be obtained almost within one clock cycle. | 3 | Blood Lipid Profile and Prevalence of Dyslipidemia in Chinese Adults显示文摘Objective To investigate the plasma lipid levels in a national representative sample of subjects and to determine the prevalence of dyslipidemia in the Chinese population.Methods Plasma lipid profile was analyzed using the data obtained during the Chinese national nutrition and health survey(CNHS)in 2002 which involved 14 252 participants at the age of 18 years or older.Results The mean levels of total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG)and high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)in the participants were 3.81 mmol/L,1.10 mmol/L,and 1.30 mmol/L,respectively.In the groups of participants at the age of 18-44 years,45-59 years,and over 60 years the mean TC level was 3.70 mmol/L,4.09 mmol/L and 4.21 mmol/L,respectively,and the mean TG level was 07 mmol/L,1.21 mmol/L,1.20 mmol/L,1.29 mmol/L,1.33 mmol/L,and 1.33 mmol/L,respectively.The prevalence of dyslipidemia in Chinese adults was 18.6% and 22.2% in males and 15.9% in females.Dyslipidemia prevalence was higher in urban districts than in rural areas(21.0% vs.17.7%).The prevalence of hypercholesterolemia,hypertriglyceridemia,and low HDL cholesterol was 2.9%,11.9%,and 7.4% respectively among the participants.Conclusion Dyslipidemia has become one of the important health risk factors in the Chinese population.There is no significantly difference in the prevalence of dyslipidemia between the groups of participants at the age of 45-59 years and over 60 years.This study provides important lipid profile data for policy making and guideline development for the prevention of dyslipidemia in the Chinese population. | WEN-HUA ZHAO JIAN ZHANG YI ZHAI YUE YOU QING-QING MAN CHUN-RONG WANG HONG LI YING LI XIAO-GUANG YANG | 2007 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2007,20,4: | 22 |

| 5 | Admission delay is associated with worse surgical outcomes for elderly hip fracture patients:A retrospective observational study显示文摘BACKGROUND:The influence of surgical delay on mortality and morbidity has been studied extensively among elderly hip fracture patients.However,most studies only focus on the timing of surgery when patients have already been hospitalized,without considering pre-admission waiting time.Therefore,the present study aims to explore the infl uence of admission delay on surgical outcomes.METHODS:In this retrospective study,we recorded admission timing and interval from admission to surgery for included patient.Other covariates were also collected to control confounding.The primary outcome was 1-year mortality.The secondary outcomes were 1-month mortality,3-month mortality,ICU admission and postoperative pneumonia.We mainly used multivariate logistic regression to determine the effect of admission timing on postoperative outcomes.An additional survival analysis was also performed to assess the impact of admission delay on survival status in the fi rst year after operation.RESULTS:The proportion of patients hospitalized on day 0,day 1,day 2 after injury was 25.4%,54.7%and 66.3%,respectively.And 12.6%patients visited hospital one week later after injury.Mean time from admission to surgery was 5.2 days(standard deviation 2.8 days).Hospitalization at one week after injury was a risk factor for 1-year mortality(OR 1.762,95%CI 1.026–3.379,P=0.041).CONCLUSION:Admission delay of more than one week is signifi cantly associated with higher 1-year mortality.As a supplement to the current guidelines which emphasizes early surgery after admission,we also advocate early admission once patients get injured. | Wei He Yue-yang You Kai Sun Chen Xie Yue Ming Li-na Yu Feng-jiang Zhang Min Yan | 2020 | World Journal of Emergency Medicine2020,11,1: | 11 |

| 12 | OsPKpa_1 encodes a plastidic pyruvate kinase that affects starch biosynthesis in the rice endosperm显示文摘Pyruvate kinase(PK) is a key enzyme in glycolysis and carbon metabolism. Here, we isolated a rice(Oryza sativa) mutant, w59, with a white-core floury endosperm. Map-based cloning of w59 identified a mutation in OsPKpa_1, which encodes a plastidic isoform of PK(PKp). OsPKpa_1 localizes to the amyloplast stroma in the developing endosperm, and the mutation of OsPKpa_1 in w59 decreases the plastidic PK activity, resulting in dramatic changes to the lipid biosynthesis in seeds. The w59 grains were also characterized by a marked decrease in starch content. Consistent with a decrease in number and size of the w59 amyloplasts, large empty spaces were observed in the central region of the w59 endosperm, atthe early grain-filling stage. Moreover, a phylogenetic analysis revealed four potential rice isoforms of OsPKp. We validated the in vitro PK activity of these OsPKps through reconstituting active PKp complexes derived from inactive individual OsPKps, revealing the heteromeric structure of rice PKps, which was further confirmed using a protein–protein interaction analysis. | 15 | Evolution and protein interactions of AP2 proteins in Brassicaceae: Evidence linking development and environmental responses显示文摘Plants have evolved a large number of transcription factors(TF), which are enriched among duplicate genes,highlighting their roles in complex regulatory networks. The APETALA2/EREBP-like genes constitute a large plant TF family and participate in development and stress responses. To probe the conservation and divergence of AP2/EREBP genes,we analyzed the duplication patterns of this family in Brassicaceae and identified interacting proteins of representative Arabidopsis AP2/EREBP proteins. We found that many AP2/EREBP duplicates generated early in Brassicaceae history were quickly lost, but many others were retained in all tested Brassicaceae species, suggesting early functional divergence followed by persistent conservation. In addition,the sequences of the AP2 domain and exon numbers were highly conserved in rosids. Furthermore, we used 16 A.thaliana AP2/EREBP proteins as baits in yeast screens and identified 1,970 potential AP2/EREBP-interacting proteins,with a small subset of interactions verified in planta. Many AP2 genes also exhibit reduced expression in an antherdefective mutant, providing a possible link to developmental regulation. The putative AP2-interacting proteins participate in many functions in development and stress responses,including photomorphogenesis, flower development, pathogenesis, drought and cold responses, abscisic acid and auxin signaling. | 17 | Dental plaque-inspired versatile nanosystem for caries prevention and tooth restoration显示文摘Dental caries is one of the most prevalent human diseases resulting from tooth demineralization caused by acid production of bacteria plaque.It remains challenges for current practice to specifically identify,intervene and interrupt the development of caries while restoring defects.In this study,inspired by natural dental plaque,a stimuli-responsive multidrug delivery system(PMs@NaF-SAP)has been developed to prevent tooth decay and promote enamel restoration.Classic spherical core-shell structures of micelles dual-loaded with antibacterial and restorative agents are self-assembled into bacteria-responsive multidrug delivery system based on the pH-cleavable boronate ester bond,followed by conjugation with salivary-acquired peptide(SAP)to endow the nanoparticle with strong adhesion to tooth enamel.The constructed PMs@NaF-SAP specifically adheres to tooth,identifies cariogenic conditions and intelligently releases drugs at acidic pH,thereby providing antibacterial adhesion and cariogenic biofilm resistance,and restoring the microarchitecture and mechanical properties of demineralized teeth.Topical treatment with PMs@NaF-SAP effectively diminishes the onset and severity of caries without impacting oral microbiota diversity or surrounding mucosal tissues.These findings demonstrate this novel nanotherapy has potential as a promising biomedical application for caries prevention and tooth defect restoration while resisting biofilm-associated diseases in a controlled manner activated by pathological bacteria. | Yue Xu Yuan You Luyao Yi Xiaoyi Wu Yaning Zhao Jian Yu He Liu Ya Shen Jingmei Guo Cui Huang | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,2: | 3 |
| 18 | Numerical study on dynamic mechanism of brain volume and shear deformation under blast loading显示文摘Blast-induced traumatic brain injury(b-TBI)is a kind of significant injury to soldiers in the current military conflicts.However,the mechanism of b-TBI has not been well understood,and even there are some contradictory conclusions.It is crucial to reveal the dynamic mechanism of brain volume and shear deformations under blast loading for better understanding of b-TBI.In this paper,the numerical simulation method is adopted to carry out comprehensive and in-depth researches on this issue for the first time.Based on the coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian method,the fluid-structure coupling model of the blast wave and human head is developed to simulate two situations,namely the head subjected to the frontal and lateral impacts.The simulation results are analyzed to obtain the underlying dynamic mechanisms of brain deformation.The brain volume deformation is dominated by the local bending vibration of the skull,and the corresponding frequency for the forehead skull under the frontal impact and the lateral skull faced to the lateral impact is as high as 8 kHz and 5 kHz,respectively.This leads to the high-frequency fluctuation of brain pressure and the large pressure gradient along the skull,totally different from the dynamic response of brain under head collisions.While the brain shear deformation mainly depends on the relative tangential displacement between the skull and brain and the anatomical structure of inner skull,being not related to the brain pressure and its gradient.By further comparing the medical statistics,it is inferred that diffuse axonal injury and brain contusion,the two most common types of b-TBI,are mainly attributed to brain shear deformations.And the von Mises stress can be adopted as the indicator for these two brain injuries.This study can provide theoretical guidance for the diagnosis of b-TBI and the development of protective equipment. | Zhijie Li Zhibo Du Xiaochuan You Zhanli Liu Jian Cheng Chengcheng Luo Dongyang Chu Shaowu Ning Yue Kang Ce Yang Zhuo Zhuang | 2019 | Acta Mechanica Sinica2019,35,5: | 3 |

| 20 | The first data release(DR1) of the LAMOST regular survey显示文摘The Large sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope(LAMOST) general survey is a spectroscopic survey that will eventually cover approximately half of the celestial sphere and collect 10 million spectra of stars, galaxies and QSOs. Objects in both the pilot survey and the first year regular survey are included in the LAMOST DR1. The pilot survey started in October 2011 and ended in June 2012, and the data have been released to the public as the LAMOST Pilot Data Release in August 2012. The regular survey started in September 2012, and completed its first year of operation in June 2013. The LAMOST DR1 includes a total of 1202 plates containing 2 955 336 spectra, of which 1 790 879 spectra have observed signalto-noise ratio(SNR) ≥ 10. All data with SNR ≥ 2 are formally released as LAMOST DR1 under the LAMOST data policy. This data release contains a total of 2 204 696 spectra, of which 1 944 329 are stellar spectra, 12 082 are galaxy spectra and 5017 are quasars. The DR1 not only includes spectra, but also three stellar catalogs with measured parameters: late A,FGK-type stars with high quality spectra(1 061 918 entries), A-type stars(100 073 entries), and M-type stars(121 522 entries). This paper introduces the survey design, the observational and instrumental limitations, data reduction and analysis, and some caveats.
