| 2 | Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Gliomas Exhibit Cell Biological and Molecular Signatures of Fetal Hindbrain-Derived Neural Progenitor Cells显示文摘Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma(DIPG) is the main cause of brain tumor-related death among children.Until now, there is still a lack of effective therapy with prolonged overall survival for this disease. A typical strategy for preclinical cancer research is to find out the molecular differences between tumor tissue and para-tumor normal tissue, in order to identify potential therapeutic targets. Unfortunately, it is impossible to obtain normal tissue for DIPG because of the vital functions of the pons.Here we report the human fetal hindbrain-derived neural progenitor cells(pontine progenitor cells, PPCs) as normal control cells for DIPG. The PPCs not only harbored similar cell biological and molecular signatures as DIPG glioma stem cells, but also had the potential to be immortalized by the DIPG-specific mutation H3 K27 M in vitro. | 3 | A Case Study of Applying Metagenomic Sequencing in Precise Epidemiology for the COVID-19 Pandemic-Sichuan Province, China, 2020显示文摘Introduction:Determining the transmission chain of a virus in its incipient stages is extremely time consuming in traditional approaches that rely mainly on case incidence and interview-based contact data.With the development of high-throughput sequencing technology,genome-based epidemiology approach is showing promise in detecting viral transmission.However,there is still insufficient evidence for the relationship between the viral genetic variations and real viral transmission.Methods:To explore the possible relationship between transmission chains and viral genetic variations,we combined both epidemiological data and viral genomes of COVID-19 virus collected from Sichuan Province.A phylogenetic approach was used to infer the transmission chain,which was then compared to the transmission chain that came from epidemiological data.Results:We found that the putative transmission chains were highly concordant to the true transmission chains from epidemiological data,suggesting a strong correlation between viral genetic variations and the viral transmission chain.Discussion:Our results showed advantages of viral genomic sequencing in tracking and perceiving pathogen transmission,which allowed for potential improvements in the design and implementation of population-level public health interventions. | Jianan Xu Ye Wang You Li Huiping Yang Ming Pan Jian Liu Lina Shi Yuliang Feng Li Liu Jin Li Li Zhang Shusen He | 2020 | China CDC weekly2020,2,47: | 2 |

| 13 | Core-shell-embedded Mesoporous Silica Capsules for Atmospheric Water Harvesting显示文摘A one-step ultrasonic mechanical method was used to synthesize a kind of atmospheric water harvesting material with high water harvesting performance in a wide relative humidity(RH)range,especially at low RH(RH<40%),namely,mesoporous silica capsule(MSC)with core-shell structure.Transmission electron microscopy(TEM),nitrogen adsorption and other characterization techniques were used to study the formation process of nano-microspheres.A new mechanism of self-adaptive concentration gradient regulation of silicon migration and recombination core-shell structure was proposed to explain the formation of a cavity in the MSC system.The core-shell design can enhance the specific surface area and pore volume while maintaining the monodispersity and mesoporous size.To study the water harvesting performance of MSC,solid silica nanoparticles(SSN)and mesoporous silica nanoparticles(MSN)were prepared.In a small atmospheric water collection test(25℃,40%RH),the water vapour adsorption and desorption kinetics of MSC,SSN,MSN and a commercial silica gel(CSG)were compared and analyzed.The results show that the MSC with mesoporous channels and core-shell structure can provide about 0.324 gwater/gadsorbent,79%higher than the CSG(0.181 gwater/gadsorbent).It is 25.1%higher than that of 0.259 gwater/gadsorbentof un-hollowed MSN and 980%higher than that of0.03 gwater/gadsorbentof un-hollowed SSN.The material has a large specific surface area and pore volume,simple preparation method and low cost,which provides a feasible idea for realising atmospheric water collection in arid and semi-arid regions. | ZHANG Shangsheng XU Shuman LEI Ruicheng PAN Yuliang MA Tao ZHANG Zheng LIU Chunsheng ZHANG Zengzhi | 2023 | Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2023,38,5: | 0 |

| 17 | HPC-Atlas:Computationally Constructing A Comprehensive Atlas of Human Protein Complexes显示文摘A fundamental principle of biology is that proteins tend to form complexes to play important roles in the core functions of cells.For a complete understanding of human cellular functions,it is crucial to have a comprehensive atlas of human protein complexes.Unfortunately,we still lack such a comprehensive atlas of experimentally validated protein complexes,which prevents us from gaining a complete understanding of the compositions and functions of human protein complexes,as well as the underlying biological mechanisms.To fill this gap,we built Human Protein Complexes Atlas(HPC-Atlas),as far as we know,the most accurate and comprehensive atlas of human protein complexes available to date.We integrated two latest protein interaction networks,and developed a novel computational method to identify nearly 9000 protein complexes,including many previously uncharacterized complexes.Compared with the existing methods,our method achieved outstanding performance on both testing and independent datasets.Furthermore,with HPC-Atlas we identified 751 severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)-affected human protein complexes,and 456 multifunctional proteins that contain many potential moonlighting proteins.These results suggest that HPC-Atlas can serve as not only a computing framework to effectively identify biologically meaningful protein complexes by integrating multiple protein data sources,but also a valuable resource for exploring new biological findings.The HPCAtlas webserver is freely available at http://gffzz6ca2edafa0dc406ahkxxpub669u6c6npo.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/HPC-Atlas. | Yuliang Pan Ruiyi Li Wengen Li Liuzhenghao Lv Jihong Guan Shuigeng Zhou | 2023 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2023,21,5: | 0 |
