1A journey to understand wheat Fusarium head blight resistance in the Chinese wheat landrace Wangshuibai显示文摘Fusarium head blight(FHB) or scab caused by Fusarium graminearum is a major threat to wheat production in China as well as in the world. To combat this disease, multiple efforts have been carried out internationally. In this article, we review our long-time effort in identifying the resistance genes and dissecting the resistance mechanisms by both forward and reverse genetics approaches in the last two decades. We present recent progress in resistance QTL identification, candidate functional gene discovery, marker-assisted improvement of FHB resistant varieties, and findings in investigating association of signal molecules, such as Ca^(++),SA, JA, and ET, with FHB response, with the assistance from rapidly growing genomics platforms. 2Sequencing of Cultivated Peanut, Arachis hypogaea, Yields Insights into Genome Evolution and Oil Improvement显示文摘Cultivated peanut (Arachis hypogaea) is an allotetraploid crop planted in Asia, Africa, and America for edible oil and protein. To explore the origins and consequences of tetraploidy, we sequenced the allotetraploid A. hypogaea genome and compared it with the related diploid Arachis duranensis and Arachis ipaensis genomes. We annotated 39 888 A-subgenome genes and 41 526 B-subgenome genes in allotetraploid peanut. The A. hypogaea subgenomes have evolved asymmetrically, with the B subgenome resembling the ancestral state and the A subgenome undergoing more gene disruption, loss, conversion, and transposable element proliferation, and having reduced gene expression during seed development despite lacking genome-wide expression dominance. Genomic and transcriptomic analyses identified more than 2 500 oil metabolism-related genes and revealed that most of them show altered expression early in seed development while their expression ceases during desiccation, presenting a comprehensive map of peanut lipid biosynthesis. 4Effects of calcined aluminum salts on the advanced dewatering and solidification/stabilization of sewage sludge显示文摘The high moisture content (80%) in the sewage dewatered sludge is the main obstacle to disposal and recycling. A chemical dewatering and stabilization/solidification (S/S) alternative for the sludge was developed, using calcined aluminum salts (AS) as solidifier, and CaCl 2 , Na 2 SO 4 and CaSO 4 as accelerators, to enhance the mechanical compressibility making the landfill operation possible. The properties of the resultant matrixes were determined in terms of moisture contents, unconfined compressive strength, products of hydration, and toxicity characteristics. The results showed that AS exhibited a moderate pozzolanic activity, and the mortar AS 0 obtained with 5% AS and 10% CaSO 4 of AS by weight presented a moisture contents below 50%–60% and a compressive strength of (51.32 ± 2.9) kPa after 5–7 days of curing time, meeting the minimum requirement for sanitary landfill. The use of CaSO 4 obviously improved the S/S performance, causing higher strength level. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and thermogravimetry- differential scanning calorimetry investigations revealed that a large amount of hydrates (viz., gismondine and CaCO 3 ) were present in solidified sludge, leading to the depletion of evaporable water and the enhancement of the strength. In addition, the toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP) and horizontal vibration (HJ 557-2009) leaching test were conducted to evaluate their environmental compatibility. 7The phylogeny of Orthoptera inferred from mtDNA and description of Elimaea cheni(Tettigoniidae:Phaneropterinae)mitogenome显示文摘The complete 15,831 bp nucleotide sequence of the mitochondrial genome from Elimaea cheni(Phaneropterinae)was determined.The putative initiation codon for cox1 was TTA.The phylogeny of Orthoptera based on different mtDNA datasets were analyzed with maximum likelihood(ML)and Bayesian inference(BI).When all 37 genes(mtDNA)were analyzed simultaneously,the monophyly of Caelifera and Ensifera were recovered in the context of our taxon sampling.The phylogeny of Orthoptera was largely consistent with previous phylogenetic hypotheses.Rhaphidophoridae to be a sister group of Tettigoniidae,and the relationships among four subfamilies of Tettigoniidae were(Phaneropterinae +(Conocephalinae +(Bradyporinae + Tettigoniinae))).Pyrgomorphidae was the most basal group of Caelifera.The relationships among six acridid subfamilies were(Oedipodinae +(Acridinae +(Gomphocerinae +(Oxyinae +(Calliptaminae + Cyrtacanthacridinae))))).However,we did not recover a monophyletic Grylloidea.Myrmecophilidae clustered into one clade with Gryllotalpidae instead of with Gryllidae.ML and BI analyses of all protein coding genes(using all nucleotide sequence data or ex-cluding the third codon position,and amino acid sequences)revealed a topology identical to that of the entire mtDNA genome dataset.However,22 tRNAs genes excluding the DHU loop and TψC loop(TRNA),and two rRNA genes(RRNA)perform poorly when analyzed as single dataset.Our results suggest that the best phylogenetic inferences were ML and BI methods based on total mtDNA.Excluding tRNA genes,rRNA genes and the third codon position of protein coding genes from dataset and converting nucleotide sequences to amino acid sequences do not positively affect phylogenetic reconstruction.Zhijun Zhou Haiyan Ye Yuan Huang Fuming Shi 2010Journal of Genetics and Genomics2010,37,5:10

9The role of cross-listing,foreign ownership and state ownership in dividend policy in an emerging market显示文摘In this paper, we investigate if dividend policy is influenced by ownership type.Within the dividend literature, dividends have a signaling role regarding agency costs, such that dividends may diminish insider conflicts(reduce free cash flow) or may be used to extract cash from firms(tunneling effect)- which could be predominant in emerging markets. We expect firms with foreign ownership and those that are listed in overseas markets to have different dividend policies and practices than those that are not, and firms with more state ownership and less individual ownership to be more likely to pay cash dividends and less likely to pay stock dividends. Using firms from an emerging economy(China), we examine whether these effects exist in corporate dividend policy and practice. We find that both foreign ownership and cross-listing have significant negative effects on cash dividends, consistent with the signaling effect and the notion of reduced tunneling activities for firms with the ability to raise capital from outside of China. Consistent with the tunneling effect, we find that firms with higher state ownership tend to pay higher cash dividends and lower stock dividends, while the opposite is true for public(individual) ownership.Further analysis shows that foreign ownership mediates the effect of state ownership on dividend policy. 11TGF-β1 alters microRNA profile in human gastric cancer cells显示文摘Objective: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are important regulators that play a key role in tumorigenesis and tumor progression. Transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) is involved in invasion and metastasis in many tumors. In this study, we investigated the microRNAs (miRNA) profiles altered by TGF-β1 in gastric cancer (GC) cells. Methods: We detected the expression profiles of miRNA by miRNA microarray and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Migration and invasion, wound-healing assay, prediction of miRNA targets, Western blot and qRT-PCR analysis were carried out to determine the role of one selected miRNA, namely miR-193b, in affecting the biological behaviors of GC BGC823 cells. Results: Among 847 human miRNAs in the microarray, three miRNAs (miR-27a, miR-29b-1 and miR-194) were up-regulated and three (miR-574-3p, miR-193b and miR-130b) were down-regulated in BGC823 cells treated with TGF-β1 compared with control. miR-193b suppressed the invasion and metastasis of GC cells in vivo and in vitro, and down-regulated urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA) protein in GC cells. Conclusions: TGF-β1 altered miRNA expression profile in BGC823 cells. 13Regulation of mitochondrial NAD pool via NAD^+ transporter 2 is essential for matrix NADH homeostasis and ROS production in Arabidopsis显示文摘Reactive oxygen species(ROS) play a crucial role in numerous biological processes in plants, including development, responses to environmental stimuli, and programmed cell death(PCD). Deficiency in MOSAIC DEATH 1(MOD1), a plastid-localized enoyl-ACP reductase essential for de novo fatty acid biosynthesis in Arabidopsis thaliana, leads to the increased malate export from chloroplasts to mitochondria, and the subsequent accumulation of mitochondria-generated ROS and PCD. In this study, we report the identification and characterization of a mod1 suppressor, som592. SOM592 encodes mitochondrion-localized NAD^+ transporter 2(NDT2). We show that the mitochondrial NAD pool is elevated in the mod1 mutant. The som592 mutation fully suppressed mitochondrial NADH hyper-accumulation, ROS production, and PCD in the mod1 mutant, indicating a causal relationship between mitochondrial NAD accumulation and ROS/PCD phenotypes. We also show that in wild-type plants, the mitochondrial NAD+uptake is involved in the regulation of ROS production in response to continuous photoperiod. Elevation of the alternative respiration pathway can suppress ROS accumulation and PCD in mod1, but leads to growth restriction. 16深地震反射剖面揭露青藏高原陆-陆碰撞与地壳生长的深部过程显示文摘印度板块与亚洲板块的碰撞使喜马拉雅-青藏高原隆升,地壳增厚和生长扩展。探测青藏高原深部结构,揭露两个大陆如何碰撞,碰撞如何使大陆变形的过程,是全球关切的科学奥秘。深地震反射剖面探测是打开这个科学奥秘的最有效途径之一。20多年来,运用这项高技术探测到青藏高原巨厚地壳的精细结构,攻克了难以得到下地壳和Moho清晰结构的技术瓶颈,揭露了陆陆碰撞过程。本文在探测研究成果基础上,从青藏高原南北东西对比,再到高原腹地,系统地综述了青藏高原之下印度板块与亚洲板块碰撞俯冲的深部行为。印度地壳在高原南缘俯冲在喜马拉雅造山带之下,亚洲板块的阿拉善地块岩石圈在北缘向祁连山下俯冲,祁连山地壳向外扩展,塔里木地块与高原西缘的西昆仑发生面对面的碰撞,在高原东缘发现龙日坝断裂而不是龙门山断裂是扬子板块的西缘边界,高原腹地Moho薄而平坦,岩石圈伸展垮塌。多条深反射剖面揭露了在雅鲁藏布江缝合带下印度板块与亚洲板块碰撞的行为,印度地壳不仅沿雅鲁藏布江缝合带存在由西向东的俯冲角度变化,而且其向北行进到拉萨地体内部的位置也不同。在缝合带中部,显示印度地壳上地壳与下地壳拆离,上地壳向北仰冲,下地壳向北俯冲,并在俯冲过程发生物质的回返与构造叠置,使印度地壳减薄,喜马拉雅地壳加厚。俯冲印度地壳前缘与亚洲地壳碰撞后沉入地幔,处于亚洲板块前缘的冈底斯岩基与特提斯喜马拉雅近于直立碰撞,冈底斯下地壳呈部分熔融状态,近乎透明的弱反射和局部出现的亮点反射,以及近于平的Moho都反映出亚洲板块南缘的伸展构造环境。GAO Rui ZHOU Hui GUO Xiaoyu LU Zhanwu LI Wenhui WANG Haiyan LI Hongqiang XIONG Xiaosong HUANG Xingfu XU Xiao 2021地学前缘2021,28,5:4
17QTL mapping for grain number per spikelet in wheat using a high-density genetic map显示文摘Grain number per spikelet (GNS) is a key determinant of grain yield in wheat.A recombinant inbred line population comprising 300 lines was developed from a cross between a high GNS variety H461 and Chinese Spring from which the reference genome assembly of bread wheat was obtained.Both parents and the recombinant inbred lines were genotyped using the wheat 55K single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) array.A high-density genetic map containing 21,197 SNPs was obtained.These markers covered each of the 21 chromosomes with a total linkage distance of 3792.71 c M.Locations of these markers in this linkage map were highly consistent with their physical locations in the genome assembly of Chinese Spring.The two parents and the whole RIL population were assessed for GNS in two consecutive years at two different locations.Based on multi-environment phenotype data and best liner unbiased prediction values,three quantitative trait loci (QTL) for GNS were identified.One of them located on chromosomes 2B and the other two on 2D.Phenotypic variation explained by these loci varied from 3.07%to26.57%.One of these QTL,QGns.sicau-2D-2,was identified in each of all trials conducted.Based on the best linear unbiased prediction values,this locus explained 19.59%–26.57%of phenotypic variation.A KASP(Kompetitive Allele-Specific PCR) marker closely linked with this locus was generated and used to validate the effects of this locus in three different genetic backgrounds.The identified QTL and the KASP marker developed for it will be highly valuable in fine-mapping the locus and in exploiting it for markerassisted selection in wheat breeding programs.Yu Lin Xiaojun Jiang Haiyan Hu Kunyu Zhou Qing Wang Shifan Yu Xilan Yang Zhiqiang Wang Fangkun Wu Shihang Liu Caixia Li Mei Deng Jian Ma Guangdeng Chen Yuming Wei Youliang Zheng Yaxi Liu 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,5:4

Firstly, we build the model of probability of interception with the once radiation during the course of tracking. Secondly, we establish the model of the cumulative probability of interception to describe the effect of RFS throughout the tracking process and obtain two solutions that are minimizing the probability of interception and the radiation times to reduce the cumulative probability of interception. Thirdly, we propose a self-adapting radiation energy control method(SARE)to minimize the probability of interception. Fourthly, we propose a self-adapting radiation interval control method(SARI) to minimize radiation times. 19GmCRY1s modulate gibberellin metabolism to regulate soybean shade avoidance in response to reduced blue light显示文摘Soybean is an important legume crop that displays the classic shade avoidance syndrome(SAS),including exaggerated stem elongation,which leads to lodging and yield reduction under density farming conditions.Here,we compared the effects of two shade signals,low red light to far-red light ratio(R:FR)and low blue light(LBL),on soybean status and revealed that LBL predominantly induces excessive stem elongation.We used CRISPR-Cas9-engineered Gmcry mutants to investigate the functions of seven cryptochromes(GmCRYs)in soybean and found that the four GmCRY1s overlap in mediating LBL-induced SAS.Lightactivated GmCRY1s increase the abundance of the bZlP transcription factors STF1 and STF2,which directly upregulate the expression of genes encoding GA2 oxidases to deactivate GA1 and repress stem elongation.Notably,GmCRY1b overexpression lines displayed multiple agronomic advantages over the wild-type control under both dense planting and intercropping conditions.Our study demonstrates the integration of GmCRY1-mediated signals with the GA metabolic pathway in the regulation of LBL-induced SAS in soybean.It also provides a promising option for breeding lodging-resistant,high-yield soybean cultivars in the future.Xiangguang Lyu Qican Cheng Chao Qin Yinghui Li Xinying Xu Ronghuan Ji Ruolan Mu Hongyu Li Tao Zhao Jun Liu Yonggang Zhou Haiyan Li Guodong Yang Qingshan Chen Bin Liu 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,2:4
