| 1 | A Regional Ocean Reanalysis System for Coastal Waters of China and Adjacent Seas显示文摘A regional ocean reanalysis system for the coastal waters of China and adjacent seas has been developed by the National Marine Data and Information Service(NMDIS).It produces a dataset package called CORA (China ocean reanalysis).The regional ocean model used is based on the Princeton Ocean Model with a generalized coordinate system(POMgcs).The model is parallelized by NMDIS with the addition of the wave breaking and tidal mixing processes into model parameterizations.Data assimilation is a sequential three-dimensional variational(3D-Var) scheme implemented within a multigrid framework.Observations include satellite remote sensing sea surface temperature(SST),altimetry sea level anomaly(SLA),and temperature/salinity profiles.The reanalysis fields of sea surface height,temperature,salinity,and currents begin with January 1986 and are currently updated every year. | 2 | Isoliquiritigenin inhibits TGF-β1-induced fibrogenesis through activating autophagy via PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway in MRC-5 cells显示文摘Isoliquiritigenin(ISL),a natural flavonoid derived from the root of liquorice,has been reported to possess anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities.Previous studies have found that ISL plays a crucial role in anti-fibrosis of adipose tissue and renal tissue;however,its effect on pulmonary fibrogenesis has not been demonstrated.In this study,we aimed to explore the roles and the underlying mechanisms of ISL in TGF-β1-induced fibrogenesis using human lung fibroblast-derived MRC-5 cells.Cell proliferation and migration were determined by MTT and wound healing assay,respectively.The expression levels of alpha-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA),collagen type I alpha 1(COLIA1)and fibronectin(FN),microtubule-associated protein light chain 3(LC3)and related signaling molecules were detected by quantitative real-time PCR,western blot and immunofluorescence assay,correspondingly.EGFP-LC3 transfection was used for autophagy analysis.The results showed that ISL inhibited the TGF-β1-induced proliferation and migration,and down-regulated the expressions ofα-SMA,COLIA1 and FN.ISL treatment led to up-regulation of LC3 in TGF-β1-treated MRC-5 cells,accompanied by significant decrease in the phosphorylation levels of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K),protein kinase B(AKT),and mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR).In addition,the inhibitory effects of ISL on TGF-β1-induced fibrogenic features in MRC-5 cells were enhanced by pretreatment with autophagy activator Rapmycin and PI3K/AKT inhibitor LY294002 and reversed by autophagy inhibitor 3-methyladenine and PI3K/AKT activator IGF-1.Taken together,our results demonstrated that ISL could attenuate the fibrogenesis of TGF-β1-treated MRC-5 cells by activating autophagy via suppressing the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway.Therefore,ISL holds a great potential to be developed as a novel therapeutic agent for the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis. | Jinjuan He Hao Peng Meifang Wang Ying Liu Xingrong Guo Bin Wang Longjun Dai Xueqin Cheng Zhongji Meng Leyong Yuan Fenglin Cai Yijun Tang | 2020 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,8: | 16 |
| 3 | Ultrafast all-optical terahertz modulation based on an inverse-designed metasurface显示文摘Metasurface plays a key role in various terahertz metadevices,while the designed terahertz metasurface still lacks flexibility and variety.On the other hand,inverse design has drawn plenty of attention due to its flexibility and robustness in the application of photonics.This provides an excellent opportunity for metasurface design as well as the development of multifunctional,high-performance terahertz devices.In this work,we demonstrate that,for the first time,a terahertz metasurface supported by the electromagnetically induced transparency(EIT)effect can be constructed by inverse design,which combines the particle swarm optimization algorithm with the finite-difference time-domain method.Incorporating germanium(Ge)film with inverse-designed metasurface,an ultrafast EIT modulation on the picosecond scale has been experimentally verified.The experimental results suggest a feasibility to build the terahertz EIT effect in the metasurface through an optimization algorithm of inverse design.Furthermore,this method can be further utilized to design multifunctional and high-performance terahertz devices,which is hard to accomplish in a traditional metamaterial structure.In a word,our method not only provides a novel way to design an ultrafast all-optical terahertz modulator based on artificial metamaterials but also shows the potential applications of inverse design on the terahertz devices. | WEIBAO HE MINGYU TONG ZHONGJIE XU YUZE HU XIANG’AI CHENG TIAN JIANG | 2021 | Photonics Research2021,9,6: | 4 |

| 6 | Enrichment of Platinum-group Elements(PGE) and Re-Os Isotopic Tracing for Porphyry Copper(Gold) Deposits显示文摘Platinum-group elements(PGE) in PGE-rich porphyry copper(gold) deposits are mainly Pt and Pd,whereas the concentrations of other PGE(Ru,Rh,Os,Ir) are significantly low.Moreover,Pt and Pd mainly exist in sulfides in the forms of crystal lattice or tiny platinum-group mineral(PGM) inclusions.The present data show that there is a positive relationship between Pt and Pd concentrations and Cu(Au) in porphyry copper(gold) deposits.The comparison of chondritenormalized PGE distribution patterns between the ore-bearing porphyry intrusions and ore-barren porphyry intrusions in arc setting,187Os/188 Os,87Sr/86 Sr and S isotopes for porphyry copper(gold) deposits shows that PGEs were mainly derived from the mantle,and fluids from subduction zones devoted trivial PGE to the magma.The porphyry copper(gold) deposits associated with subducted events are most probably enriched in PGE,whereas those related to crustal thickening,lithospheric delamination or underplating rarely concentrate PGE.The osmium isotopic compositions in porphyry copper(gold) deposits reveal that(187Os/188Os)i values are highly variable and not lower than those of primitive upper mantle(PUM) and mantle peridotite,however,osmium concentrations are commonly lower than mantle peridotite,suggesting that parental magmas of some porphyry intrusions had experienced crustal contamination during magma evolution.Experimental investigations have proved that PGE exist in the forms of Cl- and HS- complexes during transportation and migration of the oreforming fluids.This paper summarizes previous studies including crucial controlling factors and mechanisms for PGE enrichment,and points out that the mantle-derived magmas parental to porphyry intrusions are the prerequisite for PGE enrichment in porphyry copper(gold) deposits.Favorable physical and chemical conditions(including salinity,temperature,pressure,pH,and oxygen fugacity) in hydrothermal fluids crucially control the PGE enrichment,and sulfur concentrations of melts play important roles in this process as well. | HE Xiaohu ZHONG Hong ZHU Weiguang BAI Zhongjie HU Wenjun | 2014 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2014,88,4: | 2 |

| 8 | Application of wind profiler data to rainfall analyses in Tazhong Oilfield region,Xinjiang,China显示文摘To improve the level of meteorological service for the Oilfield region in the Taklimakan Desert,the Urumqi Institute of Desert Meteorology of the China Meteorological Administration(CMA) conducted a detection experiment by means of wind profiling radar(WPR) in Tazhong Oilfield region of Xinjiang,China in July 2010.By using the wind profiler data obtained during the rainfall process on 27 July,this paper analyzed the wind field features and some related scientific issues of this weather event.The results indicated that:(1) wind profiler data had high temporal resolution and vertical spatial resolution,and could be used to analyze detailed vertical structures of rainfall processes and the characteristics of meso-scale systems.Before and after the rain event on 27 July,the wind field showed multi-layer vertical structures,having an obvious meso-scale wind shear line and three airflows from different directions,speeding up the motion of updraft convergence in the lower atmosphere.Besides,the wind directions before and after the rainfall changed inversely with increasing height.Before the rain,the winds blew clockwise,but after the onset of the rain,the wind directions became counterclockwise mainly;(2) the temperature advection derived from wind profiler data can reproduce the characteristics of low-level thermodynamic evolution in the process of rainfall,which is capable to reflect the variation trend of hydrostatic stability in the atmosphere.In the early stage of the precipitation on 27 July,the lower atmosphere was mainly affected by warm advection which had accumulated unstable energy for the rainfall event and was beneficial for the occurrence of updraft motion and precipitation;(3) the 'large-value zone' of the radar reflectivity factor Z was virtually consistent with the onset and end of the rainfall,the height for the formation of rain cloud particles,and precipitation intensity.The reflectivity factor Z during this event varied approximately in the range of 18-38 dBZ and the rain droplets formed mainly at the layer of 3,800-4,500 m. | MinZhong WANG WenShou WEI Qing HE XinChun LIU ZhongJie ZHAO | 2012 | Journal of Arid Land2012,4,4: | 1 |

| 15 | Au23(CR)14 nanocluster restores fibril Aβ’s unfolded state with abolished cytotoxicity and dissolves endogenous Aβplaques显示文摘The misfolding of amyloid-β(Aβ)peptides from the natural unfolded state toβ-sheet structure is a critical step,leading to abnormal fibrillation and formation of endogenous Aβplaques in Alzheimer’s disease(AD).Previous studies have reported inhibition of Aβfibrillation or disassembly of exogenous Aβfibrils in vitro.However,soluble Aβoligomers have been reported with increased cytotoxicity;this might partly explain why current clinical trials targeting disassembly of Aβfibrils by anti-Aβantibodies have failed so far.Here we show that Au23(CR)14(a new Au nanocluster modified by Cys-Arg(CR)dipeptide)is able to completely dissolve exogenous mature Aβfibrils into monomers and restore the natural unfolded state of Aβpeptides from misfoldedβ-sheets.Furthermore,the cytotoxicity of Aβ40 fibrils when dissolved by Au23(CR)14 is fully abolished.More importantly,Au23(CR)14 is able to completely dissolve endogenous Aβplaques in brain slices from transgenic AD model mice.In addition,Au23(CR)14 has good biocompatibility and infiltration ability across the blood–brain barrier.Taken together,this work presents a promising therapeutics candidate for AD treatment,and manifests the potential of nanotechnological approaches in the development of nanomedicines. | Wenkang Zhang Guanbin Gao Zhongjie Ma Zhuoying Luo Meng He Taolei Sun | 2020 | National Science Review2020,7,4: | 0 |
| 16 | Tonian Tectonic-Strata Regions and their Geological Significance in China显示文摘The continent of China developed through the coalescence of three major cratons(North China, Tarim and Yangtze) and continental micro-blocks through the processes of oceanic crust disappearance and acceretionary-collision of continental crusts. The strata of the Chinese continental landmass are subdivided into 12 tectonic-strata regions. Based on the composition of geological features among the three main cratons, continental micro-blocks and other major global cratons, their affinities can be preliminarily deduced during the Tonian period, using evidence from sedimentary successions, paleobiogeography, tectonic and magmatic events. The Yangtze and Tarim cratons show that they have close affinities during the assembly-dispersal milestone of the Rodinia Supercontinent. The sedimentary record and magmatic age populations in the blocks suggest that there was a widespread, intensive magmatic event that resulted from a subduction process during ~1000–820 Ma, related to continental rifting around the Yangtze and Tarim cratons. However, they differ greatly from the North China Craton. The continental micro-blocks in the Panthalassic Ocean could have some missing connection with the North China Craton that persisted until the Middle-Late Devonian. In contrast, the Alxa Block showed a strong affinity with the Tarim Craton. | 17 | Characteristics ofβ-type Ti-41Nb alloy produced by laser powder bed fusion:Microstructure,mechanical properties and in vitro biocompatibility显示文摘Aβ-type Ti-41 Nb alloy with high relative density has been successfully fabricated by laser powder bed fusion(L-PBF)using pre-alloyed powders for potential implant application.The homogeneous microstructure can be achieved in L-PBF fabricated(L-PBFed)Ti-41 Nb alloy but slight composition segregation was detected along molten pool boundaries.The L-PBFed alloy was dominated by typical epitaxial columnar grains with strong(001)grain orientation along building direction(BD),and cellular structure was distinguished within the columnar grains.The main reasons for this microstructure can be attributed to effective thermal gradient and epitaxial growth.L-PBFed alloy exhibited higher mechanical strength compared with cold rolling plus annealing(CRA)alloy due to the finer grains,dislocations accumulation and different TRIP behaviors,accompanied by good ductility.It also exhibited much lower thermal conductivity and better hydrophilic feature than those of CP-Ti.Besides,the L-PBFed alloy exhibited slightly better cell spread and cell proliferation rates compared with CP-Ti.Moreover,L-PBFed alloy presented better alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activities and extracellular matrix(ECM)mineralization,which suggests that the L-PBFed alloy can stimulate the osteogenic differentiation of rat bone mesenchymal stem cells.The Ti-41 Nb alloy,fabricated by L-PBF,reveals a good combination of mechanical properties,physicochemical properties and biocompatibility,exhibiting the great potential as the dental implant. | Zhongjie Li Jiajun Qiu Hao Xu Anping Dong Lin He Guoliang Zhu Dafan Du Hui Xing Xuanyong Liu Baode Sun | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,29: | 0 |
