1A complete sequence and comparative analysis of a SARS-associated virus(Isolate BJ01)显示文摘The genome sequence of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)-associated virus provides essential information for the identification of pathogen(s), exploration of etiology and evolution, interpretation of transmission and pathogenesis, development of diagnostics, prevention by future vaccination, and treatment by developing new drugs. We report the complete genome sequence and comparative analysis of an isolate (BJ01) of the coronavirus that has been recognized as a pathogen for SARS. The genome is 29725 nt in size and has 11 ORFs (Open Reading Frames). It is composed of a stable region encoding an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (composed of 2 ORFs) and a variable region representing 4 CDSs (coding sequences) for viral structural genes (the S, E, M, N proteins) and 5 PUPs (putative uncharacterized proteins). Its gene order is identical to that of other known coronaviruses. The sequence alignment with all known RNA viruses places this virus as a member in the family of Coronaviridae. Thirty putative substitutions have been identified by comparative analysis of the 5 SARS- associated virus genome sequences in GenBank. Fifteen of them lead to possible amino acid changes (non-synonymous mutations) in the proteins. Three amino acid changes, with predicted alteration of physical and chemical features, have been detected in the S protein that is postulated to beinvolved in the immunoreactions between the virus and its host. Two amino acid changes have been detected in the Mprotein, which could be related to viral envelope formation. Phylogenetic analysis suggests the possibility of non-human origin of the SARS-associated viruses but provides noevidence that they are man-made. 2Comparative effect of electroacupuncture and moxibustion on the expression of substance P and vasoactive intestinal peptide in patients with irritable bowel syndrome显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To compare the impacts of electroacupuncture(EA) and moxibustion(Mox) on the primary gastrointestinal symptoms and the expressions of colonic mucosa-associated neuropeptide substance P(SP) and vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP)in patients with either diarrhea-predominant or constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-D and IBS-C,respectively).METHODS: Eighty-five IBS patients were randomly allocated to the EA and Mox groups. Zusanli(ST 36)and Shangjuxu(ST 37) were selected as acupoints for electroacupuncture or warm moxibustion treatment once a day for 14 consecutive days. Before and after the treatment sessions,a Visual Analog Pain Scale and the Bristol Stool Form Scale were used to evaluate gastrointestinal symptoms. There were four dropout cases,leaving 81 participants(41 with IBS-D and 40 with IBS-C) who volunteered to undergo colonoscopy before and after the treatment sessions. During colonoscopy,sigmoid mucosa were collected to detect SP and VIP expression using immunohistochemistry assay.RESULTS: Both EA and Mox treatments were effective at relieving abdominal pain in IBS-D and IBS-C patients. However,Mox was more effective at reducing diarrhea in IBS-D patients,whereas EA was more effective at improving constipation in IBS-C patients. 3Safety issues and new rapid detection methods in traditional Chinese medicinal materials显示文摘The safety of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) is a major strategic issue that involves human health. With the continuous improvement in disease prevention and treatment, the export of TCM and its related products has increased dramatically in China. However, the frequent safety issues of Chinese medicine have become the ‘bottleneck' impeding the modernization of TCM. It was proved that mycotoxins seriously affect TCM safety; the pesticide residues of TCM are a key problem in TCM international trade; adulterants have also been detected, which is related to market circulation. These three factors have greatly affected TCM safety. 4Site effects on earthquake ground motion based on microtremor measurements for metropolitan Beijing显示文摘A campaign of microtremor measurements was conducted in summer 2007 for assessing local site effects of seismic strong ground motion in metropolitan Beijing. Using the measurements from over 600 sites with approximately 1―2 km spacing covering the entire area inside Beijing’s 5th Beltway, we present the analysis results in the form of contours of the predominant resonant frequency, the thick- ness of the uppermost soft sediments, and the ground motion amplification factor. The microtremor- derived soft sediment thickness is generally in agreement with previous results based on much sparser borehole data, with the revealing of more short-wavelength undulations, which coincide with major geomorphological and neotectonic expressions in metropolitan Beijing. This study provides additional valuable information to the earthquake-resistant design of civil infrastructures and seismic hazard response in metropolitan Beijing. 7Field investigations of high stress soft surrounding rocks and deformation control显示文摘Field investigations of high stress soft rock deformations show that the high stress soft rock roadway can slide with large deformation. Severe extrusion and floor heave can also be subsequently observed. The supported roadway can be locally damaged or completely fail, where the floor has a large deformation and/or is seriously damaged. The factors inducing large deformation of surrounding rocks in deep roadway are rock strengths, structure face cutting types, stress states, stress release, support patterns,and construction methods. Based on the deformation characteristics of high stress soft rock roadway, a comprehensive support scheme is proposed. The overall support technology of 'step-by-step and joint,hierarchical reinforcement' for roadway is presented, and the anchor cable and bolt parameters to check the design methods are also given. Finally, the proposed comprehensive support method 'bolt t metal mesh t U-steel arch t shortcrete t grouting and cable' is used in the extension section of east main haulage roadway at 850 m level of Qujiang coal mine. 8Fluid–solid coupling analysis of rock pillar stability for concealed karst cave ahead of a roadway based on catastrophic theory显示文摘In order to study the mechanism of water inrush from a concealed, confined karst cave, we established a fluid–solid coupling model of water inrush from a concealed karst cave ahead of a roadway and a strength reduction method in a rock pillar for preventing water inrush based on catastrophic theory. Fluid–solid coupling effects and safety margins in a rock pillar were studied. Analysis shows that rock pillar instability, exerted by disturbance stress and seepage stress, is the process of rock pillar catastrophic destabilization induced by nonlinear extension of plastic zones in the rock pillar. Seepage flow emerges in the rock pillar for preventing water inrush, accompanied by mechanical instability of the rock pillar. Taking the accident of a confined karst cave water-inrush of Qiyi Mine as an example, by studying the safety factor of the rock pillar and the relationship between karst cave water pressure and thickness of the rock pillar,it is proposed that rock pillar thickness with a safety factor equal to 1.5 is regarded as the calculated safety thickness of the rock pillar, which should be equal to the sum of the blasthole depth, blasting disturbance depth and the calculated safety thickness of the rock pillar. The cause of the karst water inrush at Qiyi Mine is that the rock pillar was so small that it did not possess a safety margin. 10White Matter Deficits Underlying the Impaired Consciousness Level in Patients with Disorders of Consciousness显示文摘In this study, we aimed to(1) identify white matter(WM) deficits underlying the consciousness level in patients with disorders of consciousness(DOCs) using diffusion tensor imaging(DTI), and(2) evaluate the relationship between DTI metrics and clinical measures of the consciousness level in DOC patients. With a cohort of 8 comatose, 8 unresponsive wakefulness syndrome/vegetative state, and 14 minimally conscious state patients and 25 patient controls, we performed group comparisons of the DTI metrics in 48 core WM regions of interest(ROIs), and examined the clinical relevance using correlation analysis. We identified multiple abnormal WM ROIs in DOC patients compared with normal controls, and the DTI metrics in these ROIs were significantly correlated with clinical measures of the consciousness level. 12Differentiation potential of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in duck显示文摘The bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) are multipotent stem cells which can differentiate into mesenchymal cells in vitro.In this study,MSCs in duck were isolated from bone marrow by density gradient centrifuge separation,purified and expanded in the me-dium.The primary MSCs were expanded for 11 passages.The different-passage MSCs were induced to differentiate into osteoblasts and neuron-like cells.Karyotype analysis indicated that MSCs kept diploid condition and the hereditary feature was stable.The different-passage MSCs expressed CD44,ICAM-1 and SSEA-4,but not CD34,CD45 and SSEA-1 when detected by immunofluorescence staining.There was no significant difference among the positive rates of passages 2,6 and 8(P > 0.05),but a significant difference existed among those of passages 2,6,8 and 11(P < 0.05).After the osteogenic inducement was added,the induced different-passage MSCs expressed high-level alkaline phosphatase(ALP),and are positive for tetracycline staining,Alizarin Red staining and Von Kossa staining.After the neural inducement was added,about 70% cells exhibited typical neuron-like phenotype,the induced different-passage MSCs expressed Nestin,neuron-specific enolase(NSE) and glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP) when detected by immunofluorescence staining.There was no significant difference among the positive rates of passages 3,4 and 6(P>0.05),but a significant difference existed among those of passages 3,4,6 and 8(P<0.05).These results suggest that MSCs in duck were capable of differentiating into osteoblasts and neuron-like cells in vitro.Linfeng Li Xiujuan Bai Xuelian Gong Hongkun Liu Lina Chen Weijun Guan Yuehui Ma 2009Journal of Genetics and Genomics2009,36,3:8

14Neuroimage-Based Consciousness Evaluation of Patients with Secondary Doubtful Hydrocephalus Before and After Lumbar Drainage显示文摘Hydrocephalus is often treated with a cerebrospinal fluid shunt(CFS) for excessive amounts of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain.However,it is very difficult to distinguish whether the ventricular enlargement is due to hydrocephalus or other causes,such as brain atrophy after brain damage and surgery.The non-trivial evaluation of the consciousness level,along with a continuous drainage test of the lumbar cistern is thus clinically important before the decision for CFS is made.We studied 32 secondary mild hydrocephalus patients with different consciousness levels,who received T1 and diffusion tensor imaging magnetic resonance scans before and after lumbar cerebrospinal fluid drainage.We applied a novel machine-learning method to find the most discriminative features from the multi-modal neuroimages.Then,we built a regression model to regress the JFK Coma Recovery Scale-Revised(CRS-R) scores to quantify the level of consciousness.The experimental results showed that our method not only approximated the CRS-R scores but also tracked the temporal changes in individual patients.The regression model has high potential for the evaluation of consciousness in clinical practice.Jiayu Huo Zengxin Qi Sen Chen Qian Wang Xuehai Wu Di Zang Tanikawa Hiromi Jiaxing Tan Lichi Zhang Weijun Tang Dinggang Shen 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,9:7
15High-precision RCS measurement of aircraft's weak scattering source显示文摘The radar cross section(RCS) of weak scattering source on the surface of an aircraft is usually less than 40 d Bsm.How to accurately measure the RCS characteristics of weak scattering source is a technical challenge for the aircraft's RCS measurement.This paper proposes separating and extracting the two-dimensional(2D) reflectivity distribution of the weak scattering source with the microwave imaging algorithm and spectral transform so as to enhance its measurement precision.Firstly,we performed the 2D microwave imaging of the target and then used the 2D gating function to separate and extract the reflectivity distribution of the weak scattering source.Secondly,we carried out the spectral transform of the reflectivity distribution and eventually obtained the RCS of the weak scattering source through calibration.The prototype experimental results and their analysis show that the measurement method is effective.The experiments on an aircraft's low-scattering conformal antenna verify that the measurement method can eliminate the clutter on the surface of aircraft.The precision of measuring a 40 d Bsm target is 3–5 d B better than the existing RCS measurement methods.The measurement method can more accurately obtain the weak scattering source's RCS characteristics.Hu Chufeng Li Nanjing Chen Weijun Zhang Linxi 2016Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2016,29,3:7

18Ambient noise as the new source for urban engineering seismology and earthquake engineering: a case study from Beijing metropolitan area显示文摘In highly populated urban centers, traditional seismic survey sources can no longer be properly applied due to restrictions in modern civilian life styles. The ambient vibration noise, including both microseisms and microtremor, though are generally weak but available anywhere and anytime, can be an ideal supplementary source for conducting seismic surveys for engineering seismology and earthquake engineering. This is fundamentally supported by advanced digital signal processing techniques for effectively extracting the useful information out from the noise. Thus, it can be essentially regarded as a passive seismic method. In this paper we first make a brief survey of the ambient vibration noise, followed by a quick summary of digital signal processing for passive seismic surveys. Then the applications of ambient noise in engineering seismology and earthquake engineering for urban settings are illustrated with examples from Beijing metropolitan area. For engineering seismology the example is the assessment of site effect in a large area via microtremor observations. 19The Distribution of Different Clades of Seneca Valley Viruses in Guangdong Province,China显示文摘Seneca Valley virus (SVV), a newly determined etiological agent of vesicular disease in swine, causes porcine idiopathic disease and occasional acute death in piglets. Recently, an increased number of SVV infection cases have been reported in the United States (US) and China, resulting in significant economic losses to the swine industry. The first identification of SVV in China was reported in Guangdong Province, a major swine producing province. The cases of SVV were continuously reported in Guangdong in 2015 and 2016. However, the spread of SVV in Guangdong in 2017 remains unknown.In this study, we determined two new SVV strains, CH-GD-2017-1 and CH-GD-2017-2, from Guangdong. The genetic analysis suggested that the two Guangdong strains showed different characteristics to previous Guangdong strains. They showed lower nucleotide similarity with strains isolated in 2015 and 2016, and were more similar to the US strains.Phylogenetic analyses indicated that the new strains were clustered in a different clade with previous Guangdong strains.We found 28 mutated amino acids in the new strains, compared with the first Guangdong strain, SVV CH-01-2015. In the geographic analysis, we found that the US and China reported more SVV cases than other countries, and most of the SVV cases were reported in east and central China—of which, Guangdong Province is one of the major epidemic regions. 20Effect of Cooling Rate and Vanadium Content on the Microstructure and Hardness of Medium Carbon Forging Steel显示文摘This paper reports the effect of cooling rate on the microstructure and hardness of a kind of medium carbon steel microalloyed with two levels of V content(0.15%and 0.28%)after hot deformation by using single compression tests on a Gleeble-3800 thermal simulator.The results show that cooling rate has a significant effect on the microstructure and hardness of the tested steels.Both the fraction of pearlite and hardness increase with increasing cooling rate,whereas a further increase of the cooling rate above a critical value promotes the formation of acicular ferrite(AF),and thus leads to a decrease of hardness mainly owing to the decrease of pearlite fraction and replacing it by AF and the less effective precipitation strengthening.Increasing V content results in a significant increase of hardness,and this tendency enhances with increasing cooling rate until the formation of AF.Furthermore,increasing V content also significantly enhances the formation of AF structure at a lower cooling rate.The results also suggest that by controlling microstructure,especially the precipitation of fine V(C,N)particles through adjusting postforging cooling,the strengthening and gradient function in one hot-forging part could be obtained.Weijun Hui Yongjian Zhang Chengwei Shao Silian Chen Xiaoli Zhao Han Dong 2016Journal of Materials Science & Technology2016,32,6:7
