1Flower-, wire-, and sheet-like MnO_2-deposited diatomites:Highly efficient absorbents for the removal of Cr(Ⅵ)显示文摘Flower-, wire-, and sheet-like MnO2-deposited diatomites have been prepared using a hydrothermal method with Mn(Ac)2, KMnO4and/or MnSO4 as Mn source and diatomite as support. Physical properties of the materials were characterized by means of numerous analytical techniques, and their behaviors in the adsorption of chromium(VI) were evaluated.It is shown that the MnO2-deposited diatomite samples with different morphologies possessed high surface areas and abundant surface hydroxyl groups(especially the wire-like MnO2/diatomite sample). 2Water-bathing synthesis of high-surface-area zeolite P from diatomite显示文摘Zeolite P was synthesized for the first time via a novel water-bathing route at 90 C using scrubbed diatomite,sodium hydroxide,and aluminum hydroxide as precursor,with SiO 2/Al 2 O 3,SiO 2/Na 2 O,and H 2 O/Na 2 O molar ratios of 7.43,3.81,and 80.00,respectively.The as-fabricated samples were characterized by means of scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,and nitrogen adsorption measurements.This study showed that (i) treating the diatomite raw material with sodium hexametaphosphate could open the pores in the diatomite via removal of the clay clogged in its pores;(ii) tetragonal mesoporous zeolite P samples with a surface area of 56-60 m 2/g could be generated after 6-24 h of water-bathing reaction at 90 C;(iii) extension of water-bathing reaction time could improve the mesoporous structure of zeolite P;and (iv) Ca 2+ adsorption capacity of the zeolite P sample was about 300 cmol/kg.Such high-surface-area porous zeolite P could be used as an effective adsorbent for the treatment of water containing calcium and magnesium ions.Yucheng Du Shuli Shi Hongxing Dai 2011Particuology2011,9,2:14
3Fabrication and characterization of Ce_(0.7)Zr_( 0.3)O_2 nanorods having high specific surface area and large oxygen storage capacity显示文摘Nanorod-like Ce 0.7 Zr 0.3 O 2 solid solutions were synthesized by a sodium dodecyl sulfate-assisted precipi- tation method. The samples were characterized by means of scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and specific surface area measurement. 4Electrochemical hydrogenation of mixed-phase TiO2 nanotube arrays enables remarkably enhanced photoelectrochemical water splitting performance显示文摘We first report that photoelectrochemical(PEC)performance of electrochemically hydrogenated TiO_2 nanotube arrays(TNTAs)as high-efficiency photoanodes for solar water splitting could be well tuned by designing and adjusting the phase structure and composition of TNTAs.Among various TNTAs annealed at different temperature ranging from 300 to 700°C,well-crystallized single anatase(A)phase TNTAs-400 photoanode shows the best photoresponse properties and PEC performance due to the favorable crystallinity,grain size and tubular structures.After electrochemical hydrogenation(EH),anataserutile(A-R)mixed phase EH-TNTAs-600 photoanode exhibits the highest photoactivity and PEC performance for solar water splitting.Under simulated solar illumination,EH-TNTAs-600 achieves the best photoconversion efficiency of up to 1.52% and maximum H_2 generation rate of 40.4 mmol h^(-1)cm^(-2),outstripping other EH-TNTAs photoanodes.Systematic studies reveal that the signigicantly enhanced PEC performance for A-R mixed phaes EH-TNTAs-600 photoanode could be attributed to the synergy of A-R mixed phases and intentionally introduced Ti^(3+)(oxygen vacancies)which enhances the photoactivity over both UV and visible-light regions,and boosts both charge separation and transfer efficiencies.These findings provide new insight and guidelines for the construction of highly efficient TiO_2-based devices for the application of solar water splitting.Jiaqin Liu Mengjia Dai Jian Wu Ying Hu Qi Zhang Jiewu Cui Yan Wang Hark Hoe Tan Yucheng Wu 2018Science Bulletin2018,63,3:4
5First experimental constraints on WIMP couplings in the effective field theory framework from CDEX显示文摘We present weakly interacting massive particles(WIMPs) search results performed using two approaches of effective field theory from the China Dark Matter Experiment(CDEX), based on the data from both CDEX-1B and CDEX-10 stages. In the nonrelativistic effective field theory approach, both time-integrated and annual modulation analyses were used to set new limits for the coupling of WIMP-nucleon effective operators at 90% confidence level(C.L.) and improve over the current bounds in the low mχregion. In the chiral effective field theory approach, data from CDEX-10 were used to set an upper limit on WIMP-pion coupling at 90% C.L. 6Progress report on the study of wood-decaying fungi in China显示文摘This study addressed three important aims:(1) undermining the previously obtained raw data about wood-decaying fungi(WDF) distribution and continuously investigating permanent plots to address certain scientific questions in ecology,(2) resolving the higher-level phylogeny of WDF with the help of multiple loci,and(3) testing and estimating the medicinal values of species that are closely related to well-known medicinal species.More than 1200 species and 2469 strains of WDF in China were identified from 28908 specimens collected from a series of field investigations.Using these materials,studies in multiple disciplines,such as ecology,taxonomy and phylogeny,and medicine,have been performed.With respect to ecology,the diversity of wood-decaying polypores significantly differed among a boreal forest zone,a temperate and warm temperate forest zone,and a tropical and subtropical forest zone.For instance,from north to south,the number and proportion of brown-rot species and the proportion of species found on fallen trunks were both decreased.The ecological patterns of wood-decaying polypores on gymnosperm and angiosperm trees were also explored by a case study in Northeast China.Although the total species richness was similar between the two tree groups,several other characteristics were significantly different,such as community structure and richness in certain substrates.The taxonomy and phylogeny of wide samples were referred to and their phylogenetic positions were resolved or at least partially established.In particular,phylogenetic knowledge about four genera,Fomitiporia,Ganoderma,Inonotus and Perenniporia,which include medicinal species,was essential for further research to determine the medicinal values of these types of fungi.Among these medicinal species,we mainly focused on Inonotus obliquus for its medicinal purposes.Polyphenols,polysaccharides and lanostane-type triterpenoids,extracted from the sterile conk of this species,could dramatically decrease levels of free radicals,DPPH and hydroxyl radicals,respectively.The metabolic profiles(both production and composition) of cultured I.obliquus mycelia could be altered by co-culture with other medicinal species or by induction of S-nitrosylation and denitrosylation,which may enhance the antioxidant capacity of I.obliquus.ZHOU LiWei DAI YuCheng 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,33:3
7A comparison of polypore funga and species composition in forest ecosystems of China,North America,and Europe显示文摘Background:Polypores as components of forest ecosystems are an important group of wood-inhabiting fungi playing a key role in forest regeneration. Previously, studies on polypore funga and diversity were focused on limited areas within one land mass only. What are the polypore funga and species composition for large-scale of China, North America and Europe? The funga and species composition of polypores in the three land masses will supply an important source of reference for the distribution patterns of polypores at species level or higher taxa. In the present study the diversity and species composition of polypores in China, North America and Europe are compared based on published data.Methods:The species diversity, species composition, major genera and nutritional modes of polypores in the three land masses are comparatively analyzed.Results:A grand total of 1,337 polypore species, belonging to 11 orders, 43 families and 168 genera, have been recorded in these three land masses of the Northern Hemisphere, of which 854 species occur in China, 547 species in North America, and 432 species in Europe. Polyporales, Hymenochaetales and Russulales are the three major orders, and Hymenochaetaceae, Polyporaceae, and Fomitopsidaceae are the three major families. The brown rot fungi Antrodia and Postia have highest number of species at generic level in the three land masses. The proportionally highest number of white rot polypore species is in China (78.81%), followed by North America (73.86%)and then Europe (67.82%);conversely, the proportion of brown rot polypores is highest in Europe (28.47%) then North America (21.39%) and then China (15.57%).Conclusions:China had the highest polypore diversity followed by North America, and then Europe although North America is around twice as big as China and Europe. White rot is the major nutritional mode of all the polypores in China, North America and Europe accounting for 77.04%of all polypore species. The white rot species as a proportion of all polypores in each of the three land masses are highest in China, followed by North America and then Europe. The polypore diversity patterns are probably due to tree species diversity and the distribution patterns of angiosperm and gymnosperm trees in the three land masses. 9Nb_2O_5 nanowires in-situ grown on carbon fiber: A high-efficiency material for the photocatalytic reduction of Cr(Ⅵ)显示文摘Niobium oxide nanowire-deposited carbon fiber(CF) samples were prepared using a hydrothermal method with amorphous Nb_2O_5·nH_2O as precursor. The physical properties of the samples were characterized by means of numerous techniques, including X-ray diffraction(XRD), energy-dispersive spectroscopy(EDS), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), selected-area electron diffraction(SAED), UV–visible spectroscopy(UV–vis), N_2 adsorption–desorption, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The efficiency for the removal of Cr(VI) was determined.Parameters such as pH value and initial Cr(VI) concentration could influence the Cr(VI) removal efficiency or adsorption capacity of the Nb_2O_5/carbon fiber sample obtained after hydrothermal treatment at 160°C for 14 hr. The maximal Cr(VI) adsorption capacity of the Nb_2O_5 nanowire/CF sample was 115 mg/g. This Nb_2O_5/CF sample also showed excellent photocatalytic activity and stability for the reduction of Cr(VI) under UV-light irradiation: the Cr(VI) removal efficiency reached 99.9% after UV-light irradiation for 1 hr and there was no significant decrease in photocatalytic performance after the use of the sample for 10 repeated cycles. 20A Check of Polypores on Larix in Northeast China显示文摘Polypore species growing on species of Larix Mill, in Northeast China were investigated during 1993~2003, and 73 polypores were recorded.
