| 2 | Structural Surface Crack Monitoring Method Based on Electrical Potential Technique and Modern Surface Technology显示文摘Crack monitoring plays a great role in modern structural health monitoring, however, most of the conventional crack inspections have disadvantages in terms of the accuracy, expense, reliability, durability and level of instrumentation required. Thus, development of a simple and reliable crack inspection technique that allows continuous monitoring has been desired. In this paper, electrical potential technique and modern surface technology are employed together to develop a new structural surface crack monitoring method. A special crack monitoring coating sensor based on electrical potential technique was deposited on the hot spot of the structure by modern surface technology. The sensor consists of three layers: the isolated layer, the sensing layer and the protective layer. The isolated layer is prepared by anodic oxidation technology, the sensing layer is made of ion plated copper, and the protective layer is made of silicone. The thickness of each layer is at micrometer magnitude. The electrical conductivity of the sensor is very stable, and the fatigue performance of the specimen with or without coating sensor is nearly unchanged. The crack monitoring experiment result shows that there are two sudden rises of the coating sensor electrical potential values, corresponding to different stages of the crack initiation and propagation. Since the width of the surface coating sensor is only 0.5 mm, this crack monitoring sensor can detect the propagation of cracks less than 0.5 mm long. The method proposed takes the simplicity of electrical potential technique and can monitor surface crack of nearly all kinds of structures precisely. | 4 | Photonic synapses with ultralow energy consumption for artificial visual perception and brain storage显示文摘The human visual system,dependent on retinal cells,can be regarded as a complex combination of optical system and nervous system.Artificial retinal system could mimic the sensing and processing function of human eyes.Optically stimulated synaptic devices could serve as the building blocks for artificial retinas and subsequent information transmission system to brain.Herein,photonic synaptic transistors based on polycrystalline MoS_(2),which could simulate human visual perception and brain storage,are presented.Moreover,the photodetection range from visible light to near-infrared light of MoS_(2) multilayer could extend human eyes’vision limitation to near-infrared light.Additionally,the photonic synaptic transistor shows an ultrafast speed within 5μs and ultralow power consumption under optical stimuli about 40 aJ,several orders of magnitude lower than biological synapses(50 ms and 10 fJ).Furthermore,the backgate control could act as emotional modulation of the artificial brain to enhance or suppress memory function,i.e.the intensity of photoresponse.The proposed carrier trapping/detrapping as the main working mechanism is presented for the device.In addition,synaptic functionalities including short synaptic plasticity,long synaptic plasticity and paired-pulse facilitation could be successfully simulated based on the prepared device.Furthermore,the large difference between short synaptic plasticity and long synaptic plasticity reveals the better image pre-processing function of the prepared photonic synapses.The classical Pavlovian conditioning associated with the associative learning is successfully implemented as well.Therefore,the efficient and rich functionalities demonstrate the potential of the MoS_(2) synaptic device that integrates sensing-memory-preprocessing capabilities for realizing artificial neural networks with different emotions that mimic human retina and brain. | Caihong Li Wen Du Yixuan Huang Jihua Zou Lingzhi Luo Song Sun Alexander OGovorov Jiang Wu Hongxing Xu Zhiming Wang | 2022 | Opto-Electronic Advances2022,5,9: | 3 |

| 8 | Serial nuclear transfer improves the development of interspecies reconstructed giant panda (Aluropoda melanoleucd) embryos显示文摘Interspecies somatic nuclear transfer (NT) may provide a new approach for preservation of the endangered rare species. Previous interspecies cloning studies have shown that a nucleus from a quiescent somatic cell supports early development of reconstructed embryos in the ooplasm from another species. In this study, we transferred nonqui-escent somatic cells from a giant panda into the perivitelline space of the enucleated rabbit oocytes. After electrofusion (at the rate of 71.6%) and electrical activation, 4.2% of the panda-rabbit reconstructed embryos developed to blastocyst in vitro. For improving the development rate of reconstructed embryos, we used serial NT in this study, i.e. blas-tomeres from reconstructed morulae were transferred into the perivitelline space of the enucleated rabbit oocytes. The fusion rates in the groups of serial I, serial Ⅱ and serial Ⅲ were 79.5%, 84.1% and 78.0%, respectively, having no difference with that of somatic group. | 13 | Numerical investigation of water and temperature distributions in a proton exchange membrane electrolysis cell显示文摘A three-dimensional, non-isothermal, two-phase model for a PEM water electrolysis cell(PEMEC) is established in this study.An effective connection between two-phase transport and performance in the PEMECs is built through coupling the liquid water saturation and temperature in the charge conservation equation. The distributions of liquid water and temperature with different operating(voltage, temperature, inlet velocity) and physical(contact angle, and porosity of anode gas diffusion layer) parameters are examined and discussed in detail. The results show that the water and temperature distributions, which are affected by the operating and physical parameters, have a combined effect on the cell performance. The effects of various parameters on the PEMEC are of interaction and restricted mutually. As the voltage increases, the priority factor caused by the change of inlet water velocity changes from the liquid water saturation increase to the temperature drop in the anode catalyst layer. While the priority influence factor caused by the contact angle and porosity of anode gas diffusion layer is the liquid water saturation. Decreasing the contact angle or/and increasing the porosity can improve the PEMEC performance especially at the high voltage. Methods: The MTT test and Cell Death Detection ELISA were used to identify cell death mode and viability of cells exposed to matrine. The volume of intracellular GSH was detected by GSH reductase. Finally Western blotting was chosen to analyze the expression of cytochrome c and Caspase-9 in HepG2 cells treated by matrine. Results: The apop-totic cell death induced by matrine in Hep G2 cells dramatically increased in the time-, dose-dependent manner. Matrine can exhaust intracellular GSH effectively to change the redox state in cells. Furthermore it affect the cytotoxicity of matrine. Re-sults of Western blotting showed that matrine induced the release of cytochrome c from mitochondria to cytoplasm, and then stimulate the cleavage of Caspase-9 in a time-dependent manner.
