Terrestrial carbon sinks in China and around the world and their contribution to carbon neutrality显示文摘Enhancing the terrestrial ecosystem carbon sink(referred to as terrestrial C sink) is an important way to slow down the continuous increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) concentration and to achieve carbon neutrality target. To better understand the characteristics of terrestrial C sinks and their contribution to carbon neutrality, this review summarizes major progress in terrestrial C budget researches during the past decades, clarifies spatial patterns and drivers of terrestrial C sources and sinks in China and around the world, and examines the role of terrestrial C sinks in achieving carbon neutrality target.According to recent studies, the global terrestrial C sink has been increasing from a source of (-0.2±0.9) Pg C yr^(-1)(1 Pg=1015g)in the 1960s to a sink of (1.9±1.1) Pg C yr^(-1) in the 2010s.By synthesizing the published data,we estimate terrestrial C sink of 0.20–0.25 Pg C yr^(-1) in China during the past decades, and predict it to be 0.15–0.52 Pg C yr^(-1) by 2060.The terrestrial C sinks are mainly located in the mid-and high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere, while tropical regions act as a weak C sink or source. The C balance differs much among ecosystem types:forest is the major C sink;shrubland, wetland and farmland soil act as C sinks;and whether the grassland functions as C sink or source remains unclear.Desert might be a C sink, but the magnitude and the associated mechanisms are still controversial.Elevated atmospheric CO_(2) concentration, nitrogen deposition, climate change, and land cover change are the main drivers of terrestrial C sinks, while other factors such as fires and aerosols would also affect ecosystem C balance. The driving factors of terrestrial C sink differ among regions.Elevated CO_(2) concentration and climate change are major drivers of the C sinks in North America and Europe, while afforestation and ecological restoration are additionally important forcing factors of terrestrial C sinks in China. For future studies,we recommend the necessity for intensive and long-term ecosystem C monitoring over broad geographic scale to improve terrestrial biosphere models for accurately evaluating terrestrial C budget and its dynamics under various climate change and policy scenarios. | Yuanhe Yang Yue Shi Wenjuan Sun Jinfeng Chang Jianxiao Zhu Leiyi Chen Xin Wang Yanpei Guo Hongtu Zhang Lingfei Yu Shuqing Zhao Kang Xu Jiangling Zhu Haihua Shen Yuanyuan Wang Yunfeng Peng Xia Zhao Xiangping Wang Huifeng Hu Shiping Chen Mei Huang Xuefa Wen Shaopeng Wang Biao Zhu Shuli Niu Zhiyao Tang Lingli Liu Jingyun Fang | 2022 | Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,5: | 32
LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating and phenocryst EPMA of dikes, Guocheng, Jiaodong Peninsula: Implications for North China Craton lithosphere evolution显示文摘Widespread dike swarm, including diorite-, monzonite-porphyry and lamprophyre, intruded in the al- tered breccia gold deposits along basin marginal faults, Guocheng, Jiaodong Peninsula. Petrography exhibits biotite enclaves in amphibole phenocrysts and the presence of acicular apatites in these dikes. Electron probe microanalyses (EPMA) show that the amphibole and clinopyroxene phenocryst’s mantle in diorite porphyry and lamprophyre respectively has sharply higher MgO (Mg#) and Cr2O3 contents in contrast to their cores. The plagioclase phenocryst in monzonite porphyry has reverse zoning. These results indicate that the magma mixing between mantle-derived mafic and crust-derived felsic magmas occurred in the original process of the dikes. Zircon cathodoluminescence (CL) images show well-developed magmatic oscillatory zones and the acquired LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb weighted mean 206Pb/238U ages are 114±2 Ma (MSDW=1.5) for monzonite porphyry (GS1) and 116±1 Ma (MSDW=0.8) for diorite porphyry (GS2), respectively. Earlier magmatic events in the northwest Jiaodong Peninsula represented by some inherited or captured zircons also occur in these dikes. Magmatic zircons from GS1 and GS2 display consistent chondrite-normalized REE patterns and Nb/Ta values, implying that they may share a similar or same source. HREE enrichment and obvious negative Eu anomalies of these zircons preclude garnet presented in their source. Our results, combined with preciously pub- lished data, indicate that dike intrusion and gold mineralization among quartz vein, altered tectonite and altered breccia gold deposits are broadly contemporaneous throughout the Jiaodong Peninsula. These also imply that the intensive crust-mantle interaction and asthenospheric underplating had oc- curred in the Early Cretaceous in the Peninsula, together with foundering of lower crust in the early Mesozoic, representing the different stages of lithosphere thinning in the North China Craton (NNC). | TAN Jun WEI JunHao GUO LingLi ZHANG KeQing YAO ChunLiang LU JianPei LI HongMei | 2008 | Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,10: | 23
Plate tectonic control on the formation and tectonic migration of Cenozoic basins in northern margin of the South China Sea显示文摘The tectonic evolution history of the South China Sea(SCS) is important for understanding the interaction between the Pacific Tectonic Domain and the Tethyan Tectonic Domain,as well as the regional tectonics and geodynamics during the multi-plate convergence in the Cenozoic.Several Cenozoic basins formed in the northern margin of the SCS,which preserve the sedimentary tectonic records of the opening of the SCS.Due to the spatial non-uniformity among different basins,a systematic study on the various basins in the northern margin of the SCS constituting the Northern Cenozoic Basin Group(NCBG) is essential. Here we present results from a detailed evaluation of the spatial-temporal migration of the boundary faults and primary unconformities to unravel the mechanism of formation of the NCBG.The NCBG is composed of the Beibu Gulf Basin(BBGB),Qiongdongnan Basin(QDNB),Pearl River Mouth Basin(PRMB) and Taixinan Basin(TXNB).Based on seismic profiles and gravity-magnetic anomalies,we confirm that the NE-striking onshore boundary faults propagated into the northern margin of the SCS.Combining the fault slip rate, fault combination and a comparison of the unconformities in different basins,we identify NE-striking rift composed of two-stage rifting events in the NCBG:an early-stage rifting(from the Paleocene to the Early Oligocene) and a late-stage rifting(from the Late Eocene to the beginning of the Miocene).Spatially only the late-stage faults occurs in the western part of the NCBG(the BBGB,the QDNB and the western PRMB),but the early-stage rifting is distributed in the whole NCBG.Temporally, the early-stage rifting can be subdivided into three phases which show an eastward migration, resulting in the same trend of the primary unconformities and peak faulting within the NCBG.The late-stage rifting is subdivided into two phases, which took place simultaneously in different basins. The first and second phase of the early-stage rifting is related to back-arc extension of the Pacific subduction retreat system. The third phase of the earlystage rifting resulted from the joint effect of slab-pull force due to southward subduction of the proto-SCS and the back-arc extension of the Pacific subduction retreat system. In addition, the first phase of the late-stage faulting corresponds with the combined effect of the post-collision extension along the Red River Fault and slab-pull force of the proto-SCS subduction. The second phase of the late-stage faulting fits well with the sinistral faulting of the Red River Fault in response to the Indochina Block escape tectonics and the slab-pull force of the proto-SCS. | Pengcheng Wang Sanzhong Li Yanhui Suo Lingli Guo Guangzeng Wang Gege Hui M.Santosh Ian D.Somerville Xianzhi Cao Yang Li | 2020 | Geoscience Frontiers2020,11,4: | 10
Wheat powdery mildew resistance gene Pm64 derived from wild emmer (Triticum turgidum var.dicoccoides) is tightly linked in repulsion with stripe rust resistance gene Yr5显示文摘Stripe rust and powdery mildew are both devastating diseases for durum and common wheat.Pyramiding of genes conferring resistance to one or more diseases in a single cultivar is an important breeding approach to provide broader spectra of resistances in wheat improvement. A new powdery mildew resistance gene originating from wild emmer(Triticum turgidum var.dicoccoides) backcrossed into common wheat(T. aestivum) line WE35 was identified. It conferred an intermediate level of resistance to Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici isolate E09 at the seedling stage and a high level of resistance at the adult plant stage. Genetic analysis showed that the powdery mildew resistance in WE35 was controlled by a dominant gene designated Pm64. Bulked segregant analysis(BSA) and molecular mapping indicated that Pm64 was located in chromosome bin 2 BL4-0.50–0.89. Polymorphic markers were developed from the corresponding genomic regions of Chinese Spring wheat and wild emmer accession Zavitan to delimit Pm64 to a 0.55 cM genetic interval between markers WGGBH1364 and WGGBH612, corresponding to a 15 Mb genomic region on Chinese Spring and Zavitan 2 BL, respectively. The genetic linkage map of Pm64 is critical for fine mapping and cloning. Pm64 was completely linked in repulsion with stripe rust resistance gene Yr5. Analysis of a larger segregating population might identify a recombinant line with both genes as a valuable resource in breeding for resistance to powdery mildew and stripe rust. | Deyun Zhang Keyu Zhu Lingli Dong Yong Liang Genqiao Li Tilin Fang Guanghao Guo Qiuhong Wu Jingzhong Xie Yongxing Chen Ping Lu Miaomiao Li Huaizhi Zhang Zhenzhong Wang Yan Zhang Qixin Sun Zhiyong Liu | 2019 | The Crop Journal2019,7,6: | 8

Functional identification of the terpene synthase family involved in diterpenoid alkaloids biosynthesis in Aconitum carmichaelii显示文摘Aconitum carmichaelii is a high-value medicinal herb widely used across China,Japan, and other Asian countries.Aconitine-type diterpene alkaloids(DAs)are the characteristic compounds in Aconitum.Although six transcriptomes, based on short-read next generation sequencing technology, have been reported from the Aconitum species, the terpene synthase(TPS)corresponding to DAs biosynthesis remains unidentified. We apply a combination of Pacbio isoform sequencing and RNA sequencing to provide a comprehensive view of the A.carmichaelii transcriptome.Nineteen TPSs and five alternative splicing isoforms belonging to TPS-b,TPS-c,and TPS-e/f subfamilies were identified. In vitro enzyme reaction analysis functional identified two sesqui-TPSs and twelve di TPSs.Seven of the TPS-c subfamily genes reacted with GGPP to produce the intermediate ent-copalyl diphosphate.Five Ac KSLs separately reacted with ent-CPP to produce ent-kaurene,ent-atiserene,and ent-13-epi-sandaracopimaradie:a new diterpene found in Aconitum.Ac TPSs gene expression in conjunction DAs content analysis in different tissues validated that ent-CPP is the sole precursor to all DAs biosynthesis, with Ac KSL1,Ac KSL2 s and Ac KSL3-1 responsible for C20 atisine and napelline type DAs biosynthesis, respectively. These data clarified the molecular basis for the C20-DAs biosynthetic pathway in A.carmichaelii and pave the way for further exploration of C19-DAs biosynthesis in the Aconitum species. | Liuying Mao Baolong Jin Lingli Chen Mei Tian Rui Ma Biwei Yin Haiyan Zhang Juan Guo Jinfu Tang Tong Chen Changjiangsheng Lai Guanghong Cui Luqi Huang | 2021 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,10: | 6
Meso-Cenozoic Evolution of Earth Surface System under the East Asian Tectonic Superconvergence显示文摘The East Asian geological setting has a long duration related to the superconvergence of the Paleo-Asian, Tethyan and Paleo-Pacific tectonic domains. The Triassic Indosinian Movement contributed to an unified passive continental margin in East Asia. The later ophiolites and I-type granites associated with subduction of the Paleo-Pacific Plate in the Late Triassic, suggest a transition from passive to active continental margins. With the presence of the ongoing westward migration of the Paleo-Pacific Subduction Zone, the sinistral transpressional stress field could play an important role in the intraplate deformation in East Asia during the Late Triassic to Middle Jurassic, being characterized by the transition from the E-W-trending structural system controlled by the Tethys and Paleo-Asian oceans to the NE-trending structural system caused by the Paleo-Pacific Ocean subduction. The continuously westward migration of the subduction zones resulted in the transpressional stress field in East Asia marked by the emergence of the Eastern North China Plateau and the formation of the Andean-type active continental margin from late Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous(160-135 Ma), accompanied by the development of a small amount of adakites. In the Late Cretaceous(135-90 Ma), due to the eastward retreat of the Paleo-Pacific Subduction Zone, the regional stress field was replaced from sinistral transpression to transtension. Since a large amount of late-stage adakites and metamorphic core complexes developed, the Andean-type active continental margin was destroyed and the Eastern North China Plateau started to collapse. In the Late Cretaceous, the extension in East Asia gradually decreased the eastward retreat of the Paleo-Pacific subduction zones. Futhermore, a significant topographic inversion had taken place during the Cenozoic that resulted from a rapid uplift of the Tibet Plateau resulting from the India-Eurasian collision and the formation of the Bohai Bay Basin and other basins in the East Asian continental margin. The inversion caused a remarkable eastward migration of deformation, basin formation and magmatism. Meanwhile, the basins that mainly developed in the Paleogene resulted in a three-step topography which typically appears to drop eastward in altitude. In the Neogene, the basins underwent a rapid subsidence in some depressions after basin-controlled faulting, as well as the intracontinental extensional events in East Asia, and are likely to be a contribution to the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau. | DMITRIENKO Liudmila V. | 8 | Exploring Seasonal and Circadian Rhythms in Structural Traits of Field Maize from LiDAR Time Series显示文摘Plant growth rhythm in structural traits is important for better understanding plant response to the ever-changing environment.Terrestrial laser scanning(TLS)is a well-suited tool to study structural rhythm under field conditions.Recent studies have used TLS to describe the structural rhythm of trees, but no consistent patterns have been drawn.Meanwhile, whether TLS can capture structural rhythm in crops is unclear. Here,we aim to explore the seasonal and circadian rhythms in maize structural traits at both the plant and leaf levels from time-series TLS.The seasonal rhythm was studied using TLS data collected at four key growth periods, including jointing,bell-mouthed,heading,and maturity periods.Circadian rhythms were explored by using TLS data acquired around every 2 hours in a whole day under standard and cold stress conditions. Results showed that TLS can quantify the seasonal and circadian rhythm in structural traits at both plant and leaf levels.(1)Leaf inclination angle decreased significantly between the jointing stage and bell-mouthed stage.Leaf azimuth was stable after the jointing stage.(2)Some individual-level structural rhythms(e.g.,azimuth and projected leaf area/PLA)were consistent with leaf-level structural rhythms.(3)The circadian rhythms of some traits(e.g.,PLA)were not consistent under standard and cold stress conditions.(4)Environmental factors showed better correlations with leaf traits under cold stress than standard conditions.Temperature was the most important factor that significantly correlated with all leaf traits except leaf azimuth. This study highlights the potential of time-series TLS in studying outdoor agricultural chronobiology. | Shichao Jin Yanjun Su Yongguang Zhang Shilin Song Qing Li Zhonghua Liu Qin Ma Yan Ge LingLi Liu Yanfeng Ding Frédéric Baret Qinghua Guo | 2021 | Plant Phenomics2021,3,1: | 5

3D-printed models improve surgical planning for correction of severe postburn ankle contracture with an external fixator显示文摘Gradual distraction with an external fixator is a widely used treatment for severe postburn ankle contracture(SPAC).However, application of external fixators is complex, and conventional two-dimensional(2D)imaging-based surgical planning is not particularly helpful due to a lack of spatial geometry. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the surgical planning process for this procedure with patient-specific three-dimension-printed models(3DPMs).In this study, patients coming from two centers were divided into two cohorts(3DPM group vs.control group)depending on whether a 3DPM was used for preoperative surgical planning.Operation duration, improvement in metatarsal-tibial angle(MTA),range of motion(ROM),the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society(AOFAS)scores, complications, and patient-reported satisfaction were compared between two groups. The 3DPM group had significantly shorter operation duration than the control group((2.0±0.3)h vs.(3.2±0.3)h,P<0.01).MTA,ROM,and AOFAS scores between the two groups showed no significant differences pre-operation,after the removal of the external fixator,or at follow-up.Plantigrade feet were achieved and gait was substantially improved in all patients at the final follow-up.Pin-tract infections occurred in two patients(one in each group)during distraction and were treated with wound care and oral antibiotics.Patients in the 3DPM group reported higher satisfaction than those in the control group, owing to better patient-surgeon communication.Surgical planning using patient-specific 3DPMs significantly reduced operation duration and increased patient satisfaction, while providing similar improvements in ankle movement and function compared to traditional surgical planning for the correction of SPAC with external fixators. | Youbai CHEN Zehao NIU Weiqian JIANG Ran TAO Yonghong LEI Lingli GUO Kexue ZHANG Wensen XIA Baoqiang SONG Luyu HUANG Qixu ZHANG Yan HAN | 2021 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2021,22,10: | 3
OTUD5 promotes innate antiviral and antitumor immunity through deubiquitinating and stabilizing STING显示文摘Stimulator of interferon genes(STING)is an adaptor protein that is critical for effective innate antiviral and antitumor immunity. The activity of STING is heavily regulated by protein ubiquitination, which is fine-tuned by both E3 ubiquitin ligases and deubiquitinases. Here,we report that the deubiquitinase OTUD5 interacts with STING,cleaves its K48-linked polyubiquitin chains, and promotes its stability.Consistently, knockout of OTUD5 resulted in faster turnover of STING and subsequently impaired type I IFN signaling following cytosolic DNA stimulation.More importantly,Lyz2-Cre Otud5^(fl/Y) mice and CD11-Cre Otud5^(fl/Y) mice showed more susceptibility to herpes simplex virus type 1(HSV-1)infection and faster development of melanomas than their corresponding control littermates, indicating that OTUD5 is indispensable for STING-mediated antiviral and antitumor immunity. Our data suggest that OTUD5 is a novel checkpoint in the cGAS-STING cytosolic DNA sensing pathway. | Yunyun Guo Fei Jiang Lingli Kong Haifeng Wu Honghai Zhang Xiaorong Chen Jian Zhao Baoshan Cai Yanqi Li Chunhong Ma Fan Yi Lei Zhang Bingyu Liu Yi Zheng Lingqiang Zhang Chengjiang Gao | 2021 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,8: | 2
C.elegans-based screen identifies lysosome-damaging alkaloids that induce STAT3-dependent lysosomal cell death显示文摘Lysosomes are degradation and signaling centers within the cell, and their dysfunction impairs a wide variety of cellular processes. To understand the cellular effect of lysosome damage,we screened natural smallmolecule compounds that induce iysosomal abnormality using Caenorhabditis elegans (C.elegans)as a model system.A group of vobasinyl-ibogan type bisindole alkaloids (ervachinines A-D)were identified that caused lysosome enlargement in C.elegans macrophage-like cells.Intriguingly, these compounds triggered cell death in the germ line independently of the canonical apoptosis pathway. In mammalian cells, ervachinines A-D induced lysosomal enlargement and damage, leading to leakage of cathepsin proteases, inhibition of autophagosome degradation and necrotic cell death.Further analysis revealed that this ervachinine-induced lysosome damage and lysosomal cell death depended on STAT3 signaling, but not RIP1 or RIP3 signaling. These findings suggest that lysosomedamaging compounds are promising reagents for dissecting signaling mechanisms underlying lysosome homeostasis and lysosome-related human disorders. | Yang Li Yu Zhang Qiwen Gan Meng Xu Xiao Ding Guihua Tang Jingjing Liang Kai Liu Xuezhao Liu Xin Wang Lingli Guo Zhiyang Gao Xiaojiang Hao Chonglin Yang | 2018 | Protein & Cell2018,9,12: | 2
Platinum-crosslinking polymeric nanoparticle for synergetic chemoradiotherapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘Despite extensive use of radiotherapy in nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)treatment because of its high radiosensitivity, there have been huge challenges in further improving therapeutic effect, meanwhile obviously reducing radiation damage. To this end, synergistic chemoradiotherapy has emerged as a potential strategy for highly effective NPC therapy. Here,we developed RGD-targeted platinum-based nanoparticles(RGD-PtNPs,denoted as RPNs)to achieve targeted chemoradiotherapy for NPC.Such nanoparticles consist of an RGD-conjugated shell and a cis-platinum(CDDP)crosslinking core.Taking advantage of RGD,the RPNs may effectively accumulate in tumor, penetrate into tumor tissues and be taken by cancer cells, giving rise to a high delivery efficiency of CDDP.When they are fully enriched in tumor sites, the CDDP loaded RPNs can act as radiotherapy sensitizer and chemotherapy agents.By means of X-ray-promoted tumor cell uptake of nanoparticle and CDDP-induced cell cycle arrest in radiation-sensitive G2/M phases,RPNs may offer remarkable therapeutic outcome in the synergistic chemoradiotherapy for NPC. | Yuxun Ding Xiaohui Xiao Lingli Zeng Qiuping Shang Wei Jiang Sha Xiong Xiaohui Duan Jun Shen Ruibing Wang Jinshan Guo Yue Pan | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,12: | 1

Quantification constraints on time gap for comagmatic gold deposits:Evidence from chronological statistics显示文摘The time gap between diagenesis and mineralization (TGDM) for comagmatic gold deposits (CGD) plays an important role in confirming the genetic relationship between gold deposits and their related intrusions. With the help of preciously published isotopic ages of some typical gold deposits and their related rocks in China, the authors have discussed and quantified the distribution characteristics and scope of the TGDM. Statistical analyses and Kolmogorov tests showed that mineralizing events are either contemporaneous with or slightly postdate their cognate magma. The TGDM conforms with normal distributions at a 0.05 confidence level and clusters between 0 and 16.0 Ma with a mean of 7.0 Ma. Thus,if the TGDM of CGD is less than 16.0 Ma,it is reasonable to consider, with the aid of other evidence, the possibility of its comagmatic genetic affiliation. The authors also emphasized that to get a precise time gap it is necessary to strengthen the diagenesis-mineralization geological background of the deposits studied, and to pay attention to the study of time gap in combination with trace elements and isotope tracing. | TAN Jun WEI Junhao LI Shuiru ZHANG Chunhua LI Yanjun GUO Lingli YAN Yunfei | 2008 | Chinese Journal Of Geochemistry2008,27,4: | 1

Plume interaction and mantle heterogeneity:A geochemical perspective显示文摘Mantle plumes originating from the Core-Mantle Boundary(CMB)or the Mantle Transition Zone(MTZ)play an important role in material transfer through Earth’s interior. The hotspot-related plumes originate through different mechanisms and have diverse processes of material transfer. Both the Morganian plumes and large low shear wave velocity provinces(LLSVPs)are derived from the D'layer in the CMB,whereas the Andersonian plumes originate from the upper mantle. All plumes have a plume head at the Moho, although the LLSVPs have an additional plume head at the MTZ.We compare the geochemical characteristics of various plumes in an attempt to evaluate the material exchange between the plumes and mantle layers. The D'layer, the LLSVPs and the Morganian plumes are consisted of subducted slab and post-perovskite from the lower mantle.Bridgmanite would crystallize during the upwelling process of the LLSVPs and the Morganian plumes in the lower mantle, and the residual is a basalt-trachyte suite.Unlike the Morganian plumes, the crystallization in the LLSVPs is insufficient that material accumulates beneath the MTZ to form a plume head.Typically, the secondary plumes above the plume head occur at the edge of the LLSVPs because it is easier for bridgmanite crystal separating from the plume head at the edge, and the residual material with low density upwells to form the secondary plumes.Meanwhile,Na and K are enriched during the long-term crystallization process, and then the basalt-phonolite suite appears in the LLSVPs.The geochemical characteristics of Andersonian plumes suggest that the basalt-rhyolite suite is the major component in the upper mantle.Meanwhile the basalt-rhyolite suite also appears in the LLSVPs and the Morganian plumes because of the assimilation and contamination in the plume head beneath the Mono. | Zhen Zhang Sanzhong Li Guangzeng Wang Xiyao Li Gang Wang Yanhui Suo M.Santosh Lingli Guo | 2020 | Geoscience Frontiers2020,11,5: | 1
