3Recent Advances in Single-Atom Electrocatalysts for Oxygen Reduction Reaction显示文摘Oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)plays significant roles in electrochemical energy storage and conversion systems as well as clean synthesis of fine chemicals.However,the ORR process shows sluggish kinetics and requires platinum-group noble metal catalysts to accelerate the reaction.The high cost,rare reservation,and unsatisfied durability significantly impede large-scale commercialization of platinum-based catalysts.Single-atom electrocatalysts(SAECs)featuring with well-defined structure,high intrinsic activity,and maximum atom efficiency have emerged as a novel field in electrocatalytic science since it is promising to substitute expensive platinum-group noble metal catalysts.However,finely fabricating SAECs with uniform and highly dense active sites,fully maximizing the utilization efficiency of active sites,and maintaining the atomically isolated sites as single-atom centers under harsh electrocatalytic conditions remain urgent challenges.In this review,we summarized recent advances of SAECs in synthesis,characterization,oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)performance,and applications in ORR-related H_(2)O_(2)production,metal-air batteries,and low-temperature fuel cells.Relevant progress on tailoring the coordination structure of isolated metal centers by doping other metals or ligands,enriching the concentration of single-atom sites by increasing metal loadings,and engineering the porosity and electronic structure of the support by optimizing the mass and electron transport are also reviewed.Moreover,general strategies to synthesize SAECs with high metal loadings on practical scale are highlighted,the deep learning algorithm for rational design of SAECs is introduced,and theoretical understanding of active-site structures of SAECs is discussed as well.Perspectives on future directions and remaining challenges of SAECs are presented.Junxing Han Juanjuan Bian Chunwen Sun 2020Research2020,,1:6

5Carbon sequestration in the total and light fraction soil organic matter along a chronosequence in grazing exclosures in a semiarid degraded sandy site in China显示文摘Horqin Sandy Land is a fragile,seriously desertified region located in Inner Mongolia of China.Overgrazing is one of the primary drivers of desertification in this region.We investigated whether the establishment of grazing exclosures in areas with active sand dunes enhances soil carbon(C) sequestration and benefits soil recovery.The results showed that soil organic C storage was 1.4,1.9,and 3.5 times,and light fraction C storage was 2.3,3.2,and 4.4 times in the 100-cm topsoil after 7,12,and 25 years of grazing exclusion,respectively,compared to the case in active sand dunes.The light fraction of soil played an important role in soil C sequestration,although it might not change rapidly to provide an early indication of how soil C is increasing in response to grazing exclusion.The results indicated that soils could potentially sequester up to 13.8 Mt C in 25 years if active sand dunes in the study area were to be protected by exclosures.This corresponds to 12.8% of the estimated carbon loss(107.53 Mt) that has been associated with desertification over the past century in the Horqin Sandy Land.Our results suggested that exclosures have the capacity to increase soil C sequestration;however,decades will be required for soil C to recover to historical grassland levels observed prior to desertification.YinPing CHEN YuQiang LI Tala AWADA JuanJuan HAN YongQing LUO 2012Journal of Arid Land2012,4,4:3

10Genome-wide Identification and Expression Analysis of Half-size ABCG Genes in Malus × domestica显示文摘Half-size adenosine triphosphate-binding cassette transporter subgroup G(ABCG) genes play crucial roles in regulating the movements of a variety of substrates and have been well studied in several plants. However, half-size ABCGs have not been characterized in detail in apple(Malus × domestica Borkh.). Here, we performed a genome-wide identification and expression analysis of the half-size ABCG gene family in apple.A total of 46 apple half-size ABCGs were identified and divided into six clusters according to the phylogenetic analysis. A gene structural analysis showed that most half-size ABCGs in the same cluster shared a similar exon–intron organization. A gene duplication analysis showed that segmental, tandem and whole-genome duplications could account for the expansion of half-size ABCG transporters in M. domestica. Moreover, a promoter scan, digital expression analysis and RNA-seq revealed that Md ABCG21 may be involved in root's cytokinin transport and that ABCG17 may be involved in the lateral bud development of M. spectabilis ‘Bly114’ by mediating cytokinin transport. 12Identification and Phylogenetic Analysis of the POLYGALACTURONASE Gene Family in Apple显示文摘In this study, a total of 85 apple polygalacturonase genes were characterized and clustered into seven groups based on the Malus × domestica whole-genome sequence. These genes coded for proteins containing 176–1 125 amino acids with isoelectric points ranging from 4.68 to 9.58.The predicted Md PG genes were distributed on all chromosomes except the 14 th. We then systematically analyzed conserved Md PG protein motifs and the structures of Md PG genes. We identified Md PG proteins containing four conserved motifs that are widely found in different PG proteins.Additionally, we found that Md PG75 was the largest gene, encompassing 18 exons. Finally, we systematically analyzed the functional connection network of Md PG proteins and predicted the functions of related Md PG genes before undertaking a preliminary validation. 15Parental and transgenerational impairments of thyroid endocrine system in zebrafish by 2,4,6-tribromophenol显示文摘Many environmental contaminants could be transmitted fromparents and generate impairments to their progeny.The 2,4,6-tribromophenol(TBP),a novel brominated flame retardant which has been frequently detected in various organisms,was supposed to be bioaccumulated and intergenerational transmitted in human beings.Previous studies revealed that TBP could disrupt thyroid endocrine system in zebrafish larvae.However,there is no available data regarding the parental and transgenerational toxicity of this contaminant.Thus,in this study adult zebrafish were exposed to environmental contaminated levels of TBP for 60 days to investigate the parental and transgenerational impairments on thyroid endocrine system.Chemical analysis verified the bioaccumulation of TBP in tested organs of parents(concentration:liver>gonads>brain)and its transmission into eggs.For adults,increased thyroid hormones,disturbed transcriptions of related genes and histopathological changes in thyroid follicles indicate obvious thyroid endocrine disruptions.Transgenerational effects are indicated by the increased thyroid hormones both in eggs(maternal source)and in developed larvae(newly synthesized),aswell as disrupted transcriptional profiles of key genes in HPT axis.The overall results suggest that the accumulated TBP could be transmitted from parent to offspring and generate thyroid endocrine disruptions in both generations.Yuxi Zhou Juanjuan Fu Min Wang Yongyong Guo Lihua Yang Jian Han Bingsheng Zhou 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,2:1

17Quality assessment of processed Eucommiae Cortex based on the color and tensile force显示文摘Eucommiae Cortex(EC),the dried stem bark of Eucommia ulmoides Oliv,has been traditionally used to strengthen the muscle and bone tissues and improve liver and kidney functions in East Asian countries,including China,Japan,and Korea.Salty-fried EC(SFEC)is made by using mixing EC and saline together based on the protocol of Chinese Materia Medica Processing(CMMP)for clinical use.However,the clinical effectiveness of SFEC is directly impacted by the frying temperature and time.But precise techniques for evaluating the caliber of SFEC have yet to be developed.Thus,this study aimed to establish a fast and accurate quality-check method for SFEC decoction pieces.According to the frying temperature and time,four different categories of SFEC had been got according to the Chinese Pharmacopoeia method as Raw(R),Under(U),Moderately(M),and Overly(O).The red(R),green(G),blue(B),and light(L)color values of the decoction pieces were quantitated using the Photoshop software to determine the standard value range of the L color(raw[104.44±15.06],under[67.28±8.20],moderately[39.94±6.40],and over[15.02±5.03]).Additionally,the tensile strengths and pinoresinol diglucoside(PDG)levels of EC gum-silks were measured using the mechanical tensile test and HPLC,respectively.We also conducted Pearson correlation analysis on the L color value,EC gum-silk tension(FbcN),and PDG level,and established the following muliple-linear regression equation:the decline in PDG level(w)=0.829-0.001×FbeN-0.009×I.In conclusion,the L color value and FbeN could be used for cluster analysis of four categories of SFEC.Additinally,based on the correlation among the L color value,gum-silk tensile test,and PDG level,a rapid and accurate quality-control method for SFEC decoction pieces with different frying temperatures and durations was estab-lished.This method facilitates the manufacturing of efficacious SFEC.Haiying Xu Lanqing Li Chunmei Tan Juanjuan Han Linghang Qu Jiyuan Tu Xianqiong Liu Kang Xu 2022Medicine in Novel Technology and Devices2022,,4:0
18The hydrophobic cluster on the surface of protein is the key structural basis for the SDS-resistance of chondroitinase VhChlABC显示文摘The application of chondroitinase requires consideration of the complex microenvironment of the target.Our previous research reported a marine-derived sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)-resistant chondroitinase VhChlABC.This study further investigated the mechanism of VhChlABC resistance to SDS.Focusing on the hydrophobic cluster on its strong hydrophilic surface,it was found that the reduction of hydrophobicity of surface residues Ala181,Met182,Met183,Ala184,Val185,and Ile305 significantly reduced the SDS resistance and stability.Molecular dynamics(MD)simulation and molecular docking analysis showed that I305G had more conformational flexibility around residue 305 than wild type(WT),which was more conducive to SDS insertion and binding.The affinity of A181G,M182A,M183A,V185A and I305G to SDS was significantly higher than that of WT.In conclusion,the surface hydrophobic microenvironment composed of six residues was the structural basis for SDS resistance.This feature could prevent the binding of SDS and the destruction of hydrophobic packaging by increasing the rigid conformation of protein and reducing the binding force of SDS-protein.The study provides a new idea for the rational design of SDS-resistant proteins and may further promote chondroitinase research in the targeted therapy of lung diseases under the pressure of pulmonary surfactant.Juanjuan Su Hao Wu Chengying Yin Fengchao Zhang Feng Han Wengong Yu 2024Marine Life Science & Technology2024,6,1:0
19Impact of Cold Spells on Ischemic Stroke Severity and Clinical Outcomes in Tianjin, China显示文摘There are several studies on the impact of extreme weather on the incidence and mortality of stroke, but the research on the effect of extreme weather events on severity and outcome of ischemic stroke is scarce. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of cold spells on the severity and clinical outcomes of patients with initial acute ischemic stroke in a hospital-based study. We enrolled 553 patients with initial ischemic stroke during the cold seasons between 2016 and 2019. Patients were separated into the mild stroke group and moderate-to-severe stroke group according to the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) of the U.S., and good outcome group and poor outcome group according to modified Rankin Scale(mRS) scores. There are nine different definitions of cold spells according to intensities and duration time. After adjustment for climate factors, air quality index, and common risk factors, it is found that cold spells were associated with moderate-to-severe neurological deficits and clinical outcomes in overall ischemic stroke patients. Furthermore, the delay effect for stroke severity started at the beginning of the cold wave(Lag 0) and lasted up to 14 days(Lags 0–14). In addition, when a cold spell was set as a daily mean temperature < 3rd or 5th percentile and with a duration ≥ 2 or 3 consecutive days, cold spells had a significant impact on clinical outcomes, and there was a definite delay effect of at least 7 days(Lags 0–7) and it lasted up to 14days(Lags 0–14). 20Analysis of Influencing Factors of Pine Wood Nematode Disease in Lu an City Based on GIS显示文摘[Objectives]The paper was to figure out the distribution of Monochamus alternatus in the stumps of pine wood nematode infected wood in Lu'an City and to provide a theoretical and practical basis for differentiated prevention and control of pine wood nematode disease in the future.[Methods]The factors influencing the number of epidemic small classes and infected plants in all counties and districts of Lu'an City were analyzed by GIS method,and the number of worms and wormholes of M.alternatus inside and outside the stumps of pine wood nematode infected wood in Lu'an City were investigated on the spot.[Results]There were 98,40,54,781,193,268 and 34 epidemic small classes of pine wood nematode disease,and 7241,6099,9532,39161,11079,49876 and 4853 infected plants in Yu'an District,Jin'an District,Yeji District,Shucheng County,Huoshan County,Jinzhai County and Huoqiu County,respectively.Pine wood nematode disease in Lu'an City mostly occurred in Huoshan County,Shucheng County and Jinzhai County,with relatively high altitude,paddy soil,the annual precipitation higher than 2062 mm,and the annual average temperature lower than 16.2℃.The number of diseased plants of pine wood nematode disease was positively correlated with altitude and annual precipitation,and was negatively correlated with annual average temperature.The number of worms and wormholes in pine wood nematode infected wood was very small at different altitudes,stump heights and stump diameters.[Conclusions]The pine wood nematode infected wood can be differentially processed after stump treatment,and stumps can be peeled.The results will provide a theoretical and practical basis for differentiated prevention and control of pine wood nematode disease in the future.Juanjuan HU Hao SONG Gao LIU Yongquan CHENG Yehan YAN Xianrong WANG Xianbin SUN Bangxing HAN 2023Plant Diseases and Pests2023,14,4:0
