| 1 | Comparative Analysis of Leaf Trichomes, Epidermal Wax And Defense Enzymes Activities in Response to Puccinia horiana in Chrysanthemum and Ajania Species显示文摘White rust caused by Puccinia horiana is a destructive disease of chrysanthemum plants.To better understand the resistance mechanisms of composite species to this disease,the leaf cuticular traits,antioxidant and defensive enzymes activities of immune(Chrysanthemum makinoi var.wakasaense)and highly susceptible(Ajania shiwogiku var.kinokuniense)species were compared.Trichome density of two species was markedly different,negatively associated with plant resistance to P.horiana.Total wax load in C.makinoi var.wakasaense was two times more than that in A.shiwogiku var.kinokuniense.The wax composition in immune one was abundant in esters and primary alcohols.Superoxide dismutase(SOD,EC 1.15.1.1),peroxidase(POD,EC 1.11.1.7),polyphenoloxidase(PPO,EC 1.14.18.1 or EC 1.10.3.2)and phenylalanine ammonia lyase(PAL,EC 4.3.1.5)activitieswere investigated.In C.makinoi var.wakasaense,the activity of SOD and POD increased rapidly after inoculation,whichmight be non-host induced reactive oxygen species(ROS)activated antioxidant enzymes,however SOD and POD remained a low and steady level in the highly susceptible one after inoculation.Quick increase in PPO activities after inoculation was observed in both species,however it remained higher in C.makinoi var.wakasaense at the late period of inoculation.PAL in C.makinoi var.wakasaense was induced after pathogen inoculation,but not in A.shiwogiku var.kinokuniense,suggesting that these two enzymes might contribute to the resistance to P.horiana. | Yinjie Wang Jun Zeng Xiaolong Xia Yang Xu Jing Sun Jing Gu Hainan Sun Haini Lei Fadi Chen Jiafu Jiang Weiming Fang Sumei Chen | 2020 | Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,3: | 8 |

| 3 | Redundant CAMTA Transcription Factors Negatively Regulate the Biosynthesis of Salicylic Acid and N-Hydroxypipecolic Acid by Modulating the Expression of SARD1 and CBP60g显示文摘Two signal molecules, salicylic acid (SA) and N-hydroxypipecolic acid (NHP), play critical roles in plant immunity. The biosynthetic genes of both compounds are positively regulated by master immune-regulating transcription factors SARD1 and CBP60g. However, the relationship between the SA and NHP pathways is unclear. CALMODULIN-BINDING TRANSCRIPTION FACTOR 1 (CAMTA1), CAMTA2, and CAMTA3 are known redundant negative regulators of plant immunity, but the underlying mechanism also remains largely unknown. In this study, through chromatin immunoprecipitation and electrophoretic mobility shift assays, we uncovered that CBP60g is a direct target of CAMTA3, which also negatively regulates the expression of SARD1, presumably via an indirect effect. The autoimmunity of camta3-1 is suppressed by sard1 cbp60g double mutant as well as ald1 and fmo1, two single mutants defective in NHP biosynthesis. Interestingly, a suppressor screen conducted in the camta1/ 2/ 3 triple mutant background yielded various mutants blocking biosynthesis or signaling of either SA or NHP, leading to nearly complete suppression of the extreme autoimmunity of camta1/ 2/ 3, suggesting that the SA and NHP pathways can mutually amplify each other. | 11 | Learning stratified 3D reconstruction显示文摘Stratified 3 D reconstruction, or a layer-by-layer 3 D reconstruction upgraded from projective to affine, then to the final metric reconstruction, is a well-known 3 D reconstruction method in computer vision. It is also a key supporting technology for various well-known applications, such as streetview, smart3 D, oblique photogrammetry. Generally speaking, the existing computer vision methods in the literature can be roughly classified into either the geometry-based approaches for spatial vision or the learning-based approaches for object vision. Although deep learning has demonstrated tremendous success in object vision in recent years,learning 3 D scene reconstruction from multiple images is still rare, even not existent, except for those on depth learning from single images. This study is to explore the feasibility of learning the stratified 3 D reconstruction from putative point correspondences across images, and to assess whether it could also be as robust to matching outliers as the traditional geometry-based methods do. In this study, a special parsimonious neural network is designed for the learning. Our results show that it is indeed possible to learn a stratified 3 D reconstruction from noisy image point correspondences, and the learnt reconstruction results appear satisfactory although they are still not on a par with the state-of-the-arts in the structurefrom-motion community due to largely its lack of an explicit robust outlier detector such as random sample consensus(RANSAC). To the best of our knowledge, our study is the first attempt in the literature to learn3 D scene reconstruction from multiple images. Our results also show that how to implicitly or explicitly integrate an outlier detector in learning methods is a key problem to solve in order to learn comparable3 D scene structures to those by the current geometry-based state-of-the-arts. Otherwise any significant advancement of learning 3 D structures from multiple images seems difficult, if not impossible.
