| 3 | Trends in cancer mortality in China from 2004 to 2018:A nationwide longitudinal study显示文摘Background:The long-term trend in cancer death in a rapidly developing country provides information for cancer prophylaxis.Here,we aimed to identify the trends in cancer mortality in China during the 2004-2018 period.Methods:Using raw data from the national mortality surveillance system of China,we assessed the mortalities of all cancer and site-specific cancers during the 2004-2018 period.The participants were divided into three age groups:≥65 years,40-64 years,and≤39 years.Changing trends in cancer death by gender,residency,and tumor location were estimated using fitting joinpoint models to log-transformed crude mortality rates(CMRs)and age-standardizedmortality rates(ASMRs).Results:Cancer death accounted for 24% of all-cause of death in China during 2014-2018.The CMR of all cancer was 150.0 per 100,000 persons.Cancer was the leading cause of death in the population<65 years.The six major cancer types(lung/bronchus cancer,liver cancer,stomach cancer,esophagus cancer,colorectal cancer,and pancreas cancer)accounted for 75.85% of all cancer deaths.The CMR of all cancer increased while the ASMR decreased during 2014-2018(P<0.001).Lung/bronchus cancer and liver cancer were the leading causes of cancer death in the population<65 years,accounting for 45.31%(CMR)and 44.35%(ASMR)of all cancer death,respectively.The ASMR of liver cancer was higher in the 40-64 years population than in the≥65 years population,in contrast to the other five major cancers.The ASMRs of liver cancer,stomach cancer,and esophagus cancer decreased although they were higher in rural residents than in urban residents;the ASMRs of lung/bronchus cancer,colorectal cancer,and pancreas cancer increased in rural residents although they were higher in urban residents than in rural residents during 2014-2018.Conclusion:Although the ASMR of all cancer decreased in China during 2004-2018,lung/bronchus cancer and liver cancer remained the leading causes of cancer-related premature death.Lung/bronchus cancer,colorectal cancer,and pancreas cancer increased in rural residents. | Dongming Jiang Lijuan Zhang Wenbin Liu Yibo Ding Jianhua Yin Rongbing Ren Qi Li Yifan Chen Jiaying Shen Xiaojie Tan Hongwei Zhang Guangwen Cao | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,10: | 23 |

| 5 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 6 | Effects of Rare Earth elements on microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of 718H pre-hardened mold steel显示文摘718 H Pre-ha rdened mold steels with diffe rent Rare Earth(RE) contents were prepared to investigate the influence of RE on microstructure evolution and mechanical properties through a series of experiments and theoretical analysis.The results indicated that the toal oxygen(T.O) content decreased from 15 ppm to 6 ppm with 0.022 wt% RE addition,which is attributed to the active chemical properties of RE elements.For test steels,RE additions of 0.012 wt% and 0.022 wt% were significantly effective for refining inclusions by eliminating 11.5% large-sized inclusions with diameter exceeding 10 μm compared with that of ORE steel.RE addition contributed to modify irregular MnS and Al2 O3 inclusions into ellipsoidal RE-inclusions(RE2 O,RES,RE2 O2 S and REAlO3).The purification of molten steel and the modification of inclusions by RE treatment have significant effects on improvement of the fatigue crack growth tests(FCG) inhibition ability and impact energy as well as the isotropy.However,excessive addition of RE elements(0.07 wt%)seriously reduced the impact energy,ultimate tensile strength and FCG inhibition ability due to rapidly increase of the volume fraction of large-sized inclusions.In addition to the inclusions formed by RE treatment,trace solid solution RE atoms improve the stability of undercooled austenite,resulting in the transformation region of bainite and perlite of 0.07 RE steel shifting to the bottom right and prolonging the incubation period compared with that of ORE steel. | Hanghang Liu Paixian Fu Hongwei Liu Yanfei Cao Chen Sun Ningyu Du Dianzhong Li | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,47,15: | 11 |

The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. | 8 | The Convergence of Least-Squares Progressive Iterative Approximation for Singular Least-Squares Fitting System显示文摘Data fitting is an extensively employed modeling tool in geometric design. With the advent of the big data era, the data sets to be fitted are made larger and larger, leading to more and more least-squares fitting systems with singular coefficient matrices. LSPIA (least-squares progressive iterative approximation) is an efficient iterative method for the least-squares fitting. However, the convergence of LSPIA for the singular least-squares fitting systems remains as an open problem. In this paper, the authors showed that LSPIA for the singular least-squares fitting systems is convergent. Moreover, in a special case, LSPIA converges to the Moore-Penrose (M-P) pseudo-inverse solution to the least- squares fitting result of the data set. This property makes LSPIA, an iterative method with clear geometric meanings, robust in geometric modeling applications. | 14 | External fixation is more suitable for intra-articular fractures of the distal radius in elderly patients显示文摘The purpose of this study was to compare the functional outcomes,psychological impact,and complication rates associated with external fixation and volar or dorsal plating in relation to the functional parameters following treatment of intra-articular fractures of the distal radius(IFDR) in patients older than 65 years.We hypothesized that using volar or dorsal plating would improve functional outcomes,but that it would be associated with more complications and equivalent functional outcomes when compared with the external fixation group.A total of 123 consecutive patients suffering from IFDR were recruited into the study.The patients were measured for clinical,radiological,and psychosocial functioning outcomes and were followed up after 1 week and 3,6 and 12 months.After 3 months,the plating group had better pronation(P=0.001),supination,(P=0.047) and extension(P=0.043) scores.These differences were somewhat attenuated by6 months and disappeared at 1 year.The plating group had a greater occurrence of wound infection(P=0.043),tendonitis,(P=0.024) and additional surgery compared with the external fixation group.The only TNO-AZL Adult Quality of Life scores in the plating group that were lower than those in the external fixation group were in the 'gross motor' category(walking upstairs,bending over,walking 500 yards; P=0.023).Internal fixation was more advantageous than external fixation in the early rehabilitation period; after 1 year the outcomes were similar.The plating group showed significantly higher levels of wound infection and tendonitis and had a greater need for additional surgeries. | Chuang Ma Qiang Deng Hongwei Pu Xinchun Cheng Yuhua Kan Jing Yang Aihemaitijiang Yusufu Li Cao | 2016 | Bone Research2016,4,1: | 7 |

However, once data is uploaded to the cloud without a copy in local computers,the user loses control of the data physically. So, it is necessary to study a method to ensure users' data integrity.Avoiding retrieving enormous storage data or checking the data by users, a proof of storage protocol with public auditing was proposed based on the lattice cryptography. The user computed the signatures of the blocks, and outsourced them to cloud servers. Cloud service providers combined the blocks. Third party auditor verified all blocks' integrity only through the combined message and signature. Based on the Small integer solution assumption, the presented protocol is secure against the lost attack and tamper attack from cloud service providers. Based on the Learning with error assumption, the presented protocol is secure against the curiosity attack from third party auditor. ME contains 1728 pixels of Si-PIN detectors sensitive in 5-30 ke V with a total geometrical area of 952 cm^2. The application specific integrated circuit(ASIC) chip, VA32TA6, is used to achieve low power consumption and low readout noise. The collimators define three kinds of field of views(FOVs) for the telescope, 1°×4°, 4°×4°,and blocked ones. Combination of such FOVs can be used to estimate the in-orbit X-ray and particle background components.The energy resolution of ME is ~3 ke V at 17.8 ke V(FWHM) and the time resolution is 255 μs. | 17 | Symmetry energy dependence of the pygmy and giant dipole resonances in an isospin dependent quantum molecular dynamics model显示文摘Isospin-dependent Quantum Molecular Dynamics model (IQMD) has been applied to investigate the Pygmy Dipole Resonance (PDR) and Giant Dipole Resonance (GDR) in Ni isotopes by Coulomb excitation. By Gaussian fitting to the photon emission spectra, the peak energies and strengths of PDR and GDR are extracted. Their sensitivities to impact parameter, incident energy and the symmetry energy are discussed. By the comparison of energy-weighted sum rule (EWSR) with the data and other calculations for 68 Ni, the parameters of density-dependence of symmetry energy in the IQMD are constrained. | 18 | Activity of cold vortex in northeastern China and its connection with the characteristics of precipitation and circulation during 1960-2012显示文摘Based on the daily reanalysis data released by NCEP/NCAR and the daily precipitation of 753 Chinese stations from May to August during the period of 1960 to 2012, the statistical characteristics of the cold vortex in northeastern China were analyzed. In addition, the strength index, which described the characteristics of the vortex consistently and frequently, and the geographical distribution were given by continuous anomalies of circulation. Based on this index, the activity routines of the cold vortex, characteristics of atmospheric circulation, and their effects on precipitation in northeastern China were analyzed. The results show that: the activities of the cold vortex exhibit remarkable features of annual and interdecadal oscillation, and the vortex high frequency and its characteristics of atmospheric circulation are described more accurately by the strength index of the cold vortex, which shows a high correspondence with the vortex precipitation during early summer and midsummer in the northeast. In strong(weak) vortex years, the general circulation in the middle and high latitudes of Eurasia is to the advantage(disadvantage) of the formation, development and maintenance of the cold vortex, thus it is easy(difficult) to form the circulation which is beneficial to transmit vapor from south to north during the period of July to August. Blocking over the Ural Mountains prevails(does not prevail) in early summer, and blocking over the Sea of Okhotsk prevails(does not prevail) in midsummer. | 19 | Follistatin-like protein 1 plays a tumor suppressor role in clear-cell renal cell carcinoma显示文摘Background:We previously showed that the expression of follistatin-like protein 1(FSTL1)was significantly down-regulated in metastatic clear-cell renal cell carcinoma(ccRCC).In this study,we aimed to characterize the role of FSTL1 in the development of ccRCC.Methods:The effects of FSTL1 on cell activity and cell cycle were investigated in ccRCC cell lines with altered FSTL1 expression.Gene expression microarray assays were performed to identify the major signaling pathways affected by FSTL1 knockdown.The expression of FSTL1 in ccRCC and its effect on postoperative prognosis were estimated in a cohort with 89 patients.Results:FSTL1 knockdown promoted anchorage-independent growth,migration,invasion,and cell cycle of ccRCC cell lines,whereas FSTL1 overexpression attenuated cell migration.FSTL1 knockdown up-regulated nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)and hypoxia-inducible factor(HIF)signaling pathways,increased epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition,up-regulated interleukin-6 expression,and promoted tumor necrosis factor-α-induced degradation of NF-κB inhibitor(IκBα)in ccRCC cell lines.FSTL1 immunostaining was selectively positive in epithelial cytoplasm in the loop of Henle,and positive rate of FSTL1 was significantly lower in ccRCC tissues than in adjacent renal tissues(P<0.001).The mul-tivariate Cox regression analysis showed that the intratumoral FSTL1 expression conferred a favorable independent prognosis with a hazard ratio of 0.325(95%confidence interval 0.118-0.894).HIF-2αexpression was negatively cor-related with FSTL1 expression in ccRCC specimens(r=−0.229,P=0.044).Intratumoral expression of HIF-2α,rather than HIF-1α,significantly predicted an unfavorable prognosis in ccRCC(log-rank,P=0.038).Conclusions:FSTL1 plays a tumor suppression role possibly via repressing the NF-κB and HIF-2αsignaling pathways.To increase FSTL1 expression might be a candidate therapeutic strategy for metastatic ccRCC. | Yan Liu Xiaojie Tan Wenbin Liu Xi Chen Xiaomei Hou Dan Shen Yibo Ding Jianhua Yin Ling Wang Hongwei Zhang Yongwei Yu Jianguo Hou Timothy C.Thompson Guangwen Cao | 2018 | Cancer Communications2018,38,1: | 5 |
| 20 | Simultaneous Determination of Iron and Manganese in Water Using Artificial Neural Network Catalytic Spectrophotometric Method显示文摘A new analytical method using Back-Propagation (BP) artificial neural network and kinetic spectrophotometry for simultaneous determination of iron and magnesium in tap water, the Yellow River water and seawater is established. By conditional experiments, the optimum analytical conditions and parameters are obtained. Levenberg-Marquart (L-M) algorithm is used for calculation in BP neural network. The topological structure of three-layer BP ANN network architecture is chosen as 15-16-2 (nodes). The initial value of gradient coefficient μ is fixed at 0.001 and the increase factor and reduction factor of μ take the default values of the system. The data are processed by computers with our own programs written in MATLAB 7.0. The relative standard deviation of the calculated results for iron and manganese is 2.30% and 2.67% respectively. The results of standard addition method show that for the tap water, the recoveries of iron and manganese are in the ranges of 98.0%-104.3% and 96.5%-104.5%, and the RSD is in the range of 0.23%-0.98%; for the Yellow River water (Lijin district of Shandong Province), the recoveries of iron and manganese are in the ranges of 96.0%-101.0% and 98.7%-104.2%, and the RSD is in the range of 0.13%-2.52%; for the seawater in Qingdao offshore, the recoveries of iron and manganese are in the ranges of 95.3%-104.8% and 95.3%-104.7%, and the RSD is in the range of 0.14%-2.66%. It is found that 21 common cations and anions do not interfere with the determination of iron and manganese under the optimum experimental conditions. This method exhibits good reproducibility and high accuracy in the determination of iron and manganese and can be used for the simultaneous determination of iron and manganese in tap water and natural water.
