| 1 | Liver cancer incidence and mortality in China: Temporal trends and projections to 2030显示文摘Objective: Liver cancer is one of the most common cancers and major cause of cancer deaths in China,which accounts for over 50% of new cases and deaths worldwide.The systematic liver cancer statistics including of projection through 2030 could provide valuable information for prevention and control strategies in China,and experience for other countries.Methods: The burden of liver cancer in China in 2014 was estimated using 339 cancer registries' data selected from Chinese National Cancer Center(NCC).Incident cases of 22 cancer registries were applied for temporal trends from 2000 to 2014.The burden of liver cancer through 2030 was projected using age-period-cohort model.Results: About 364,800 new cases of liver cancer(268,900 males and 95,900 females) occurred in China,and about 318,800 liver cancer deaths(233,500 males and 85,300 females) in 2014.Western regions of China had the highest incidence and mortality rates.Incidence and mortality rates decreased by about 2.3% and 2.6% per year during the period of 2000-2014,respectively,and would decrease by more than 44% between 2014 and 2030 in China.The young generation,particularly for those aged under 40 years,showed a faster down trend.Conclusions: Based on the analysis,incidence and mortality rates of liver cancer are expected to decrease through 2030,but the burden of liver cancer is still serious in China,especially in rural and western areas.Most cases of liver cancer in China can be prevented through vaccination and more prevention efforts should be focused on high risk groups. | Rongshou Zheng Chunfeng Qu Siwei Zhang Hongmei Zeng Kexin Sun Xiuying Gu Changfa Xia Zhixun Yang He Li Wenqiang Wei Wanqing Chen Jie He | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,6: | 132 |

| 4 | Ideal cardiovascular health and incidence of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease among Chinese adults:the China-PAR project显示文摘Existing evidence on the relationship between cardiovascular health(CVH) metrics and cardiovascular disease(CVD) was primarily derived from western populations. We aimed to evaluate the benefits of ideal CVH metrics on preventing incident atherosclerotic CVD(ASCVD) in Chinese population. This study was conducted among 93,987 adults from the China-PAR project(Prediction for ASCVD Risk in China) who were followed up until 2015. Cox proportional hazard regression models were used to estimate the hazard ratios(HRs) and their corresponding 95% confidence intervals(CIs) of CVH metrics for the risk of ASCVD, including coronary heart disease(CHD), stroke and ASCVD death. We further estimated the population-attributable risk percentage(PAR%) of these metrics in relation to each outcome. We observed gradient inverse associations between the number of ideal CVH metrics and ASCVD incidence. Compared with participants having ≤2 ideal CVH metrics, the multivariable-adjusted HRs(95% CIs) of ASCVD for those with 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 ideal CVH metrics were 0.83(0.74–0.93), 0.66(0.59–0.74), 0.55(0.48–0.61), 0.44(0.38–0.50) and 0.24(0.18–0.31), respectively(P for trend <0.0001). Approximately 62.1% of total ASCVD, 38.7% of CHD, 66.4% of stroke, and 60.5% of ASCVD death were attributable to not achieving all the seven ideal CVH metrics. After adjusting effects of ideal health factors, having four ideal health behaviors could independently bring adults health benefits in preventing 17.4% of ASCVD, 18.0% of CHD, 16.7% of stroke, and 10.1% of ASCVD death. Among all the seven CVH metrics, to keep with ideal blood pressure(BP) implied the largest public health gains against various ASCVD events(PAR% between 33.0% and 47.2%), while ideal diet was the metric most difficult to be achieved in the long term. Our study indicates that the more ideal CVH metrics adults have, the less ASCVD burden there is in China. | 5 | Effect of multidisciplinary team treatment on outcomes of patients with gastrointestinal malignancy显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the effect of multidisciplinary team (MDT) treatment modality on outcomes of patients with gastrointestinal malignancy in China. METHODS: Data about patients with gastric and colorectal cancer treated in our center during the past 10 years were collected and divided into two parts. Part 1 consisted of the data collected from 516 consecutive complicated cases discussed at MDT meetings in Peking University School of Oncology (PKUSO) from December 2005 to July 2009. Part 2 consisted of the data collected from 263 consecutive cases of resect-able locally advanced rectal cancer from January 2001 to January 2005. These 263 patients were divided into neoadjuvant therapy (NT) group and control group. Patients in NT group received MDT treatment, namely neoadjuvant therapy + surgery + postoperative adjuvant therapy. Patients in control group underwent direct surgery + postoperative adjuvant therapy. The outcomes in two groups were compared. RESULTS: The treatment strategy was altered after discussed at MDT meeting in 76.81% of gastric cancer patients and in 58.33% of colorectal cancer patients before operation. The sphincter-preservation and local control of tumor were better in NT group than in control group. The 5-year overall survival rate was also higher in NT group than in control group (77.23% vs 69.75%, P = 0.049). | 6 | Predicting lifetime risk for developing atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in Chinese population:the China-PAR project显示文摘Evidence on the lifetime risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease(ASCVD) is insufficient;yet,estimating an individual's lifetime risk allows for a comprehensive assessment of ASCVD burden.We developed and validated lifetime risk prediction equations for ASCVD using four large and ongoing prospective cohorts of Chinese,the China-PAR project(Prediction for ASCVD Risk in China).Sexspecific equations were developed using two cohorts(as the derivation cohort) of 21,320 participants.Two other independent cohorts with 14,123 and 70,838 participants were used for their external validation,respectively.We evaluated both calibration and discrimination measures for model performance.Furthermore,we estimated ASCVD-free years lost or excess absolute risk attributable to high 10-year risk(!10.0%) and/or high lifetime risk(!32.8%).After 12.3 years' follow-up of the derivation cohort,1048 ASCVD events and 1304 non-ASCVD deaths were identified.Our sex-specific equations had good internal validation,with discriminant C statistics of 0.776(95% confidence interval [CI]:0.757–0.794) and 0.801(95% CI:0.778–0.825),and calibration χ~2 of 9.2(P = 0.418) and 5.6(P = 0.777) for men and women,respectively.Good external validation was also demonstrated with predicted rates closely matched to the observed ones.Compared with men having both low 10-year and low lifetime risk,men would develop ASCVD 3.0,4.6 and 8.6 years earlier if they had high 10-year risk alone,high lifetime risk alone,or both high 10-year and high lifetime risk at the index age of 35 years,respectively.We developed wellperformed lifetime risk prediction equations that will help to identify those with the greatest potential to avert ASCVD burden after implementation of innovative clinical and public health interventions in China. | Fangchao Liu Jianxin Li Jichun Chen Dongsheng Hu Ying Li Jianfeng Huang Xiaoqing Liu Xueli Yang Jie Cao Chong Shen Ling Yu Zhendong Liu Xianping Wu Liancheng Zhao Xigui Wu Dongfeng Gu Xiangfeng Lu | 2018 | Science Bulletin2018,63,12: | 30 |
| 7 | Multicenter case-control study of the risk factors for ulcerative colitis in China显示文摘AIM:To evaluate potential risk factors in the development of ulcerative colitis(UC) in China.METHODS:A total of 1308 patients with UC and 1308 age-matched and sex-matched controls were prospectively studied in China.The UC cases were collected from 17 hospitals in China from April 2007 to April 2010.Uniform questionnaires were designed to investigate risk factors including smoking,appendectomy,stress,socio-economic conditions,nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs(NSAIDs),oral contraceptives,diet,breastfeeding,infections and family sanitary conditions.Group comparisons by each factor were done using simple logistic regression analysis.Conditional logistic regression was used for multivariate analysis.RESULTS:By univariate analysis,the variables predictive of UC included feeling stress,light and heavy alcoholic drinking,spicy food,sugar consumption and infectious diarrhea,while heavy tea intake and tap water consumption were protective against UC.On multivariate analysis,the protective factor for UC was tap water consumption [odds ratios(OR) = 0.424,95%CI:0.302-0.594,P < 0.001];while the potential risk factors for UC were heavy sugar consumption(OR = 1.632,95%CI:1.156-2.305,P < 0.001),spicy food(light intake:OR = 3.329,95%CI:2.282-4.857,P < 0.001;heavy intake:OR = 3.979,95%CI:2.700-5.863,P < 0.001),and often feeling stress(OR = 1.981,95%CI:1.447-2.711,P < 0.001).Other factors,such as smoking habit,appendectomy,breastfeeding,a history of measles,rural or urban residence,education,oral contraceptives,and NSAID use have not been found to have a significant association with the development of UC in the present study.CONCLUSION:Our study showed tap water consumption was a protective factor for UC,while spicy food,heavy sugar consumption and often feeling stress were risk factors for UC in this Chinese population. | Yu-Fang Wang Qin Ou-yang Bing Xia Li-Na Liu Fang Gu Kai-Fang Zhou Qiao Mei Rui-Hua Shi Zhi-Hua Ran Xiao-Di Wang Pin-Jin Hu Kai-Chun Wu Xin-Guang Liu Ying-Lei Miao Ying Han Xiao-Ping Wu Guo-Bing He Jie Zhong Guan-Jian Liu | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,11: | 24 |
| 8 | Effect of Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch polysaccharide on growth performance and immunologic function in mice in Ural City,Xinjiang显示文摘Objective:To discuss the effect of Glycyrrhiza uralensis(G.uralensis) Fisch polysaccharide on growth performance and immunologic function in mice in Ural City,Xinjiang and to provide important data supporting the application of Glycyrrhiza polysaccharide.Methods:A total of100 Kunming mice aged 3 weeks old were randomly divided into 5 groups with 20 mice in each group(10 were females and 10 were males).About 0.5 mL normal saline was given to the mice of control group every day and 0.5 mL G.uralensis Fisch polysaccharide was given to the mice of other groups at the concentration of 1,20,50 and 100 mg/mL respectively.The growth performance(average body weight,average daily feed intake and feed efficiency),immune organ indexes(spleen index and thymus index) and immunologic function(serum IL-2,CD4^+/CD8^+ and the activity of NK cells) of mice in each group were detected continuously.Results:The average body weight,feed efficiency,serum IL-2,CD4^+/CD8^+ and the activity of NK cells of mice were increased with the increase of administrated time after administrating G.uralensis Fisch polysaccharide and were reached up the largest level on Day 28.At the same time,each index was proportional to the given dose and was significantly higher than those of control group and reached up the largest level at the administrated dose of 100 mg/mL.After administrating G.uralensis Fisch polysaccharide,the spleen index and thymus index of mice were increased with the increase of administrated dose and the spleen index and thymus index of mice administrated with the dose of 100 mg/mL were maximum which was more than 1.51 times and 1.43 times of that in control group respectively and the comparative differences showed statistical significance(P<0.05).The average daily feed intake of mice in each group was increased with the passage of lime and at the same time,the comparison of average daily feed intake of mice in each group was not significantly different(P>0.05).Conclusions:G.uralensis Fisch polysaccharide can significantly improve the growth performance and immunologic function of mice and laid a research basis for the clinical application of G.uralensis Fisch polysaccharide. | Jie Chen Xiao-Qing Zhu Li Yang Yan Luo Meng-Yuan Wang Xiao-Ting Liu Ke-Xun Liang Xin-Li Gu | 2016 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2016,9,11: | 22 |

| 10 | Management of cytokine release syndrome related to CAR-T cell therapy显示文摘Chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy is a novel cellular immunotherapy that is widely used to treat hematological malignancies, including acute leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. Despite its remarkable clinical effects, this therapy has side effects that cannot be underestimated. Cytokine release syndrome (CRS) is one of the most clinically important and potentially life-threatening toxicities. This syndrome is a systemic immune storm that involves the mass cytokines releasing by activated immune cells. This phenomenon causes multisystem damages and sometimes even death. In this study, we reported the management of a patient with recurrent and refractory multiple myeloma and three patients with acute lymphocytic leukemia who suffered CRS during CAR-T treatment. The early application of tocilizumab, an anti-IL-6 receptor antibody, according to toxicity grading and clinical manifestation is recommended especially for patients who suffer continuous hyperpyrexia, hypotensive shock, acute respiratory failure, and whose CRS toxicities deteriorated rapidly. Moreover, low doses of dexamethasone (5-10 mg/day) were used for refractory CRS not responding to tocilizumab. | 11 | A Pilot Study of the Therapeutic Efficacy and Mechanism of Artesunate in the MRL/lpr Murine Model of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus显示文摘Recent evidence indicates that artesunate has immunomodulatory properties that might be useful for treating autoimmune disease.In this study,we conducted a pilot study and explored the effect and mechanism of artesunate on the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus using an MRL/lpr murine model.MRL/lpr mice were divided into control,cyclophosphamide(CTX)and artesunate treatment groups.Blood was collected to measure serum levels of creatinine,antinuclear antibody(ANA)and anti-double-stranded DNA(anti-dsDNA)antibody.Twenty-four-hour urine was collected to measure levels of proteinuria.The concentration of monocyte chemotactic protein-1(MCP-1)in serum and urine was measured.The expression of MCP-1 in kidney was detected by Western blot and immunohistochemistry assay,respectively.The expression of B cell activating factor(BAFF)in spleen was determined by real time-PCR and immunoblotting.We found that artesunate significantly increased the survival rate,body weight and blood leukocyte counts,and reduced the serum levels of ANA and anti-dsDNA antibody titer,24 h urinary protein,and serum creatinine.Our results indicated that artesunate could decrease MCP-1,major pro-inflammation cytokine,in serum,urine and kidney.We also found that the level of BAFF,the major B cell activation factor,was decreased in artesunate treated MRL/lpr mice.Its efficacy was comparable with that of CTX in this study.Taken together,we have demonstrated that artesunate can inhibit the progression of disease and reverse the pathologic lesion of lupus nephritis. | Ouyang Jin Huayong Zhang Zhifeng Gu Shengnan Zhao Ting Xu Kangxing Zhou Bo Jiang Jie Wang Xiaofeng Zeng Lingyun Sun | 2009 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2009,6,6: | 20 |
| 12 | Precise nanomedicine for intelligent therapy of cancer显示文摘Precise nanomedicine has been extensively explored for efficient cancer imaging and targeted cancer therapy, as evidenced by a few breakthroughs in their preclinical and clinical explorations. Here, we demonstrate the recent advances of intelligent cancer nanomedicine, and discuss the comprehensive understanding of their structure-function relationship for smart and efficient cancer nanomedicine including various imaging and therapeutic applications, as well as nanotoxicity. In particular, a few emerging strategies that have advanced cancer nanomedicine are also highlighted as the emerging focus such as tumor imprisonment, supramolecular chemotherapy, and DNA nanorobot. The challenge and outlook of some scientific and engineering issues are also discussed in future development. | 15 | Overexpression of insulin-like growth factor-Ⅰ receptor as a pertinent biomarker for hepatocytes malignant transformation显示文摘AIM:To investigate the dynamic features of insulinlike growth factor-Ⅰreceptor(IGF-ⅠR)expression in rat hepatocarcinogenesis,and the relationship between IGF-ⅠR and hepatocytes malignant transformation at mRNA or protein level.METHODS:Hepatoma models were made by inducing with 2-fluorenylacetamide(2-FAA)on male SpragueDawley rats.Morphological changes of hepatocytes were observed by pathological Hematoxylin and eosin staining,the dynamic expressions of liver and serum IGF-ⅠR were quantitatively analyzed by an enzymelinked immunosorbent assay.The distribution of hepatic IGF-ⅠR was located by immunohistochemistry.The fragments of IGF-ⅠR gene were amplified by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction,and confirmed by sequencing.RESULTS:Rat hepatocytes after induced by 2-FAA were changed dynamically from granule-like degeneration,precancerous to hepatoma formation with the progressing increasing of hepatic mRNA or IGF-ⅠR expression.The incidences of liver IGF-ⅠR,IGF-ⅠR mRNA,specific IGF-ⅠR concentration(ng/mg wet liver),and serum IGF-ⅠR level(ng/mL)were 0.0%,0.0%,0.63±0.17,and 1.33±0.47 in the control;50.0%,61.1%,0.65±0.2,and 1.51±0.46 in the degeneration;88.9%,100%,0.66±0.14,and 1.92±0.29 in the precancerosis;and 100%,100%,0.96±0.09,and2.43±0.57 in the cancerous group,respectively.IGF-ⅠR expression in the cancerous group was significantly higher(P<0.01)than that in any of other groups at mRNA or protein level.The closely positive IGF-ⅠR relationship was found between livers and sera(r=0.91,t=14.222,P<0.01),respectively.CONCLUSION:IGF-ⅠR expression may participate in rat hepatocarcinogenesis and its abnormality should be an early marker for hepatocytes malignant transformation. | Xiao-Di Yan Min Yao Li Wang Hai-Jian Zhang Mei-Juan Yan Xing Gu Yun Shi Jie Chen Zhi-Zhen Dong Deng-Fu Yao | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,36: | 16 |

| 19 | Significant Reduction of Interfacial Thermal Resistance and Phonon Scattering in Graphene/Polyimide Thermally Conductive Composite Films for Thermal Management显示文摘The developing flexible electronic equipment are greatly affected by the rapid accumulation of heat,which is urgent to be solved by thermally conductive polymer composite films.However,the interfacial thermal resistance(ITR)and the phonon scattering at the interfaces are the main bottlenecks limiting the rapid and efficient improvement of thermal conductivity coefficients(λ)of the polymer composite films.Moreover,few researches were focused on characterizing ITR and phonon scattering in thermally conductive polymer composite films.In this paper,graphene oxide(GO)was aminated(NH_(2)-GO)and reduced(NH_(2)-rGO),then NH_(2)-rGO/polyimide(NH_(2)-rGO/PI)thermally conductive composite films were fabricated.Raman spectroscopy was utilized to innovatively characterize phonon scattering and ITR at the interfaces in NH_(2)-rGO/PI thermally conductive composite films,revealing the interfacial thermal conduction mechanism,proving that the amination optimized the interfaces between NH_(2)-rGO and PI,reduced phonon scattering and ITR,and ultimately improved the interfacial thermal conduction.The in-planeλ(λ∥)and through-planeλ(λ_(⊥))of 15 wt%NH_(2)-rGO/PI thermally conductive composite films at room temperature were,respectively,7.13 W/mK and 0.74 W/mK,8.2 timesλ∥(0.87 W/mK)and 3.5 timesλ_(⊥)(0.21 W/mK)of pure PI film,also significantly higher thanλ∥(5.50 W/mK)andλ_(⊥)(0.62 W/mK)of 15 wt%rGO/PI thermally conductive composite films.Calculation based on the effective medium theory model proved that ITR was reduced via the amination of rGO.Infrared thermal imaging and finite element simulation showed that NH_(2)-rGO/PI thermally conductive composite films obtained excellent heat dissipation and efficient thermal management capabilities on the light-emitting diodes bulbs,5G high-power chips,and other electronic equipment,which are easy to generate heat severely. | Kunpeng Ruan Yongqiang Guo Chuyao Lu Xuetao Shi Tengbo Ma Yali Zhang Jie Kong Junwei Gu | 2021 | Research2021,,1: | 14 |
| 20 | Application of next-generation sequencing technology to precision medicine in cancer: joint consensus of the Tumor Biomarker Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology显示文摘Next-generation sequencing(NGS) technology is capable of sequencing millions or billions of DNA molecules simultaneously.Therefore, it represents a promising tool for the analysis of molecular targets for the initial diagnosis of disease, monitoring of disease progression, and identifying the mechanism of drug resistance. On behalf of the Tumor Biomarker Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology(CSCO) and the China Actionable Genome Consortium(CAGC), the present expert group hereby proposes advisory guidelines on clinical applications of NGS technology for the analysis of cancer driver genes for precision cancer therapy. This group comprises an assembly of laboratory cancer geneticists, clinical oncologists, bioinformaticians,pathologists, and other professionals. After multiple rounds of discussions and revisions, the expert group has reached a preliminary consensus on the need of NGS in clinical diagnosis, its regulation, and compliance standards in clinical sample collection.
