4Impact of meteorological conditions on a nine-day particulate matter pollution event observed in December 2013,Shanghai,China显示文摘A severe particulate matter pollution event occurred in Shanghai from 1 to 9 December 2013.The mean hourly mass concentrations of PM_(2.5) and PM_(10) were 211.9 and 249.0 μg/m^3,respectively.Reanalysis data,in situ,and remote-sensing measurements were used to examine the impacts of meteorological conditions on this event.It was found that the synoptic pattern of weak pressure,the reduced planetary boundary layer height,and the passage of two cold fronts were key factors causing the event.Four stages were identified during this event based on the evolution of its PM_(2.5) levels and weather conditions.The highest concentration of PM2.5(602 μg/m^3) was observed in stage 3.High PM2.5 concentrations were closely associated with a low local ventilation index,with an average of 505m^2/s,as well as with the influx of pollutants from upstream,transported by the cold fronts.Jianming Xu Fengxia Yan Ying Xie Fengyun Wang Jianbin Wu Qingyan Fu 2015Particuology2015,13,3:17
5Identification of botanical origin of Chinese unifloral honeys by free amino acid profiles and chemometric methods显示文摘The amino acid contents of five floral sources Chinese honeys(jujube, rape, chaste, acacia, and lungan) were measured using reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography(RP-HPLC). The results showed that proline was the main amino acid in most of the analyzed samples. Phenylalanine presents at the highest content in chaste honey samples, and the total amino acid contents of chaste honeys were also significantly higher than those of other honey samples. Based on the amino acid contents, honey samples were classified using chemometric methods(cluster analysis(CA), principal component analysis(PCA), and discriminant analysis(DA)). According to the CA results, chaste honeys could be separated from other honeys, while the remaining samples were correctly grouped together when the chaste honey data were excluded. By using DA, the overall correct classification rate reached 100%. 6Modified graphene as novel lubricating additive with high dispersion stability in oil显示文摘Graphene is a promising material as a lubricant additive for reducing friction and wear.Here,a dispersing method which combines chemical modification of graphene by octadecylamine and dicyclohexylcarbodiimide with a kind of effective dispersant has been successfully developed to achieve the remarkable dispersion stability of graphene in base oil.The stable dispersion time of modified graphene(0.5 wt%)with dispersant(1 wt%)in PAO-6 could be up to about 120 days,which was the longest time reported so far.At the same time,the lubricant exhibits a significant improvement of tribological performance for a steel ball to plate tribo-system with a normal load of 2 N.The coefficient of friction between sliding surfaces was~0.10 and the depth of wear track on plate was~21 nm,which decreased by about 44%and 90%when compared to pure PAO-6,respectively.Furthermore,the analysis of the lubricating mechanisms in regard to the sliding-induced formation of nanostructured tribo-film has been contacted by using Raman spectra and TEM.Pu WU Xinchun CHEN Chenhui ZHANG Jiping ZHANG Jianbin LUO Jiyang ZHANG 2021Friction2021,9,1:9
7Synthesis and evaluation of a paclitaxel-binding polymeric micelle for efficient breast cancer therapy显示文摘Paclitaxel(PTX) is one of the most effective anticancer drugs for the treatment of various solid tumors, but its clinical use is limited by its poor solubility, low bioavailability, and severe systemic toxicity. Encapsulation of PTX in polymeric nanoparticles is used to overcome these problems but these micelles still need improvements in stability, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic efficacy, and safety profiles. In this study, we demonstrate a facile fabrication of a stable PTX-binding micelle made from poly(ethylene glycol)-block-dendritic polylysine, whose primary amines were reacted with phenethyl isothiocyanate(PEITC), a hydrophobic anticancer agent under clinical study. The amphiphilic conjugate(PEG-Gx-PEITC; Gx, the generation of the polylysine dendron) formed well-defined micelles whose core was composed of phenyl groups and thiourea groups binding PTX via π-π stacking and hydrogen bonding. Compared with the PTX-loaded poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(D,L-lactide)(PEGPDLLA/PTX) micelles in clinical use, PTX-loaded PEG-Gx-PEITC third-generation(PEG-G3-PEITC/PTX) micelles showed slowed blood clearance, enhanced tumor accumulation, and thus much improved in vivo therapeutic efficacy in both subcutaneous and orthotopic human breast cancer xenografts. 8Phosphorite generative processes around the Precambrian-Cambrian boundary in South China: An integrated study of Mo and phosphate O isotopic compositions显示文摘Large phosphorite deposits in Central Guizhou,China,were formed around the Precambrian/Cambrian boundary(PC/C),including the Ediacaran(Doushantuo stage)and early Cambrian(Gezhongwu stage).Among them,Gezhongwu phosphorite from Zhijin are enriched in rare earth elements(REE)plus yttrium(REY),reaching 3.503 million tons.Although phosphorites have attracted great attention,the specific sources P and REY remained unclear.To determine the P and REY sources and establish a phosphogenic model of PC/C phosphorite,we present an integrated dataset of Mo and phosphate O isotopes for the first time,along with carbonate C and O isotopes,geology,petrology,and geochemistry.In all samples,d18Op,Y/Ho,and Zr/Hf decreased from the Ediacaran to the early Cambrian,indicating increased terrigenous weathering fluxes while decreased upwelling water input.Furthermore,terrigenous weathering delivery significantly elevated marine REY concentrations in the Cambrian in Zhijin.The Ceanom and d98/95Mo suggest that seawater was oxidized in the later Ediacaran and became entirely oxic in the early Cambrian.The positive feedback between oxygen levels in atmosphere and primary productivity caused progressive oxygenation in ocean-atmosphere system and enable phosphorites to be formed by different mechanisms.Results show that the Lower Doushantuo consist of abiotic intraclasts and exhibited“seawaterlike”REY types,indicating abiological and mechanical reworking phosphogenesis.The Upper Doushantuo and Gezhongwu Formation contained mainly microbial debris and abiogenic intraclasts,and exhibit “hat-shaped”REY plots,suggesting microbially mediated phosphogenesis.Based on this data set,we developed a phosphogenic model illustrating formation of these two phosphorite deposits,wherein the Lower Doushantuo phosphorite formed through the reworking of pre-existing phosphatic sediments in anoxic and abiotic ocean,whereas the Upper Doushantuo and Gezhongwu phosphorite formed via microbial metabolisms in oxic and biotic conditions.Our study has implications on the PC/C phosphorite generative processes,as well as paleoenvironmental conditions.Haiying Yang Jiafei Xiao Yong Xia Zhuojun Xie Qinping Tan Jianbin Xu Shan He Shengwei Wu Xiqiang Liu Xingxiang Gong 2021Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,5:5
9A facile and general approach for the synthesis of fluorescent silica nanoparticles doped with inert dyes显示文摘A general and facile approach was developed for the synthesis of almost monodisperse fluorescent silica nanoparticles (NPs) doped with inert dyes, which are organic fluorophores that are strongly fluorescent but are hydrophobic or lack a covalent binding group. The prepared NPs were mesoporous and the dye molecules were encapsulated in the pores via hydrophobic interaction with the CTAB template. 10Negative association of time in range and urinary albumin excretion rate in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus:a retrospective study of inpatients显示文摘Background:Time in range(TIR)refers to the time an individual spends within their target glucose range,which now has been popularized as an important metric to classify glycemic management and also recognized as an important outcome of current diabetes therapies.This study aimed to investigate the association between TIR and the severity of the urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER)in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods:We retrospectively analyzed the data of 1014 inpatients with T2DM at the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism of Peking University International Hospital,China.TIR was defined as the percentage of blood glucose within the target range of 3.90-10.00 mmol/L.Urine samples for assessment of UAER were collected for 3 consecutive days from the start of hospitalization.Results:The TIR values for patients with normal urine levels of albumin,microalbuminuria,and macroalbuminuria were 70%±20%,50%±20%,and 30%±20%,respectively(allP<0.001).The patients were stratified according to quartiles of TIR as follows:quartile(Q)1,<55%;Q2,55%-72%;Q3,73%-83%;and Q4,>83%.The incidences of microalbuminuria in Q1,Q2,Q3,and Q4 were 41.1%,21.6%,7.1%,and 5.5%(allP<0.001),respectively.The respective incidences of macroalbuminuria were 24.2%,1.1%,1.4%,and 0%(allP<0.001).In multinomial logistic regression analyses,TIR was significantly correlated with microalbuminuria(odds ratio[OR]0.58,95%confidence interval[CI]:0.52-0.65,P<0.001)and macroalbuminuria(OR 0.26,95%CI:0.18-0.38,P<0.001)after adjusting for age,sex,body mass index,diabetes duration,systolic blood pressure,and levels of triglycerides,glycosylated hemoglobin A1c,and creatinine.Conclusion:The proportion of blood glucose in TIR is closely related to the severity of UAER in patients with T2DM.Sanbao Chai Shanshan Wu Sixu Xin Ning Yuan Jianbin Sun Xiaomei Zhang Linong Ji 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,9:3
11On the structural controllability of distributed systems with local structure changes显示文摘This paper analyzes the structural controllability of distributed systems, which are composed of many subsystems and have complicated interconnections. Different from traditional methods in centralized systems where global information is required, the method proposed in this paper is based on local structural properties and simplified interconnections, by which the computational burden is highly decreased and the implementation is tractable. Moreover, a necessary condition for global structural controllability is obtained by combining local information. 12A Strategy for Merging Objective Estimates of Global Daily Precipitation from Gauge Observations, Satellite Estimates, and Numerical Predictions显示文摘This paper describes a strategy for merging daily precipitation information from gauge observations, satellite estimates(SEs), and numerical predictions at the global scale. The strategy is designed to remove systemic bias and random error from each individual daily precipitation source to produce a better gridded global daily precipitation product through three steps.First, a cumulative distribution function matching procedure is performed to remove systemic bias over gauge-located land areas. Then, the overall biases in SEs and model predictions(MPs) over ocean areas are corrected using a rescaled strategy based on monthly precipitation. Third, an optimal interpolation(OI)–based merging scheme(referred as the HL-OI scheme)is used to combine unbiased gauge observations, SEs, and MPs to reduce random error from each source and to produce a gauge—satellite–model merged daily precipitation analysis, called BMEP-d(Beijing Climate Center Merged Estimation of Precipitation with daily resolution), with complete global coverage. The BMEP-d data from a four-year period(2011–14) demonstrate the ability of the merging strategy to provide global daily precipitation of substantially improved quality.Benefiting from the advantages of the HL-OI scheme for quantitative error estimates, the better source data can obtain more weights during the merging processes. The BMEP-d data exhibit higher consistency with satellite and gauge source data at middle and low latitudes, and with model source data at high latitudes. 13Histone deacetylase inhibitors inhibit cervical cancer growth through Parkin acetylationmediated mitophagy显示文摘Parkin,an E3 ubiquitin ligase,plays a role in maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis through targeting damaged mitochondria for mitophagy.Accumulating evidence suggests that the acetylation modification of the key mitophagy machinery influences mitophagy level,but the underlying mechanism is poorly understood.Here,our study demonstrated that inhibition of histone deacetylase(HDAC)by treatment of HDACis activates mitophagy through mediating Parkin acetylation,leading to inhibition of cervical cancer cell proliferation.Bioinformatics analysis shows that Parkin expression is inversely correlated with HDAC2 expression in human cervical cancer,indicating the low acetylation level of Parkin.Using mass spectrometry,Parkin is identified to interact with two upstream molecules,acetylase acetyl-Co A acetyltransferase 1(ACAT1)and deacetylase HDAC2.Under treatment of suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid(SAHA),Parkin is acetylated at lysine residues 129,220 and 349,located in different domains of Parkin protein.In in vitro experiments,combined mutation of Parkin largely attenuate the interaction of Parkin with PTEN induced putative kinase 1(PINK1)and the function of Parkin in mitophagy induction and tumor suppression.In tumor xenografts,the expression of mutant Parkin impairs the tumor suppressive effect of Parkin and decreases the anticancer activity of SAHA.Our results reveal an acetylation-dependent regulatory mechanism governing Parkin in mitophagy and cervical carcinogenesis,which offers a new mitophagy modulation strategy for cancer therapy.Xin Sun Yuhan Shu Guiqin Ye Caixia Wu Mengting Xu Ruilan Gao Dongsheng Huang Jianbin Zhang 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,2:3
14Ultralow friction polymer composites incorporated with mono-dispersed oil microcapsules显示文摘Ultralow friction polymer composites were prepared by adding oil-loaded microcapsules into epoxy(EP)resin.Mono-dispersed polystyrene(PS)/poly alpha olefin(PAO)microcapsules with a diameter of~2μm and a shell thickness of~30 nm were prepared by solvent evaporation method in an oil-in-water emulsion.The lubrication behaviors of the EP resin composites with oil-loaded microcapsules have been investigated under different loads and sliding speeds.As compared with the pure EP resin,the friction coefficient of the composite could be reduced to 4%(from 0.71 to 0.028)and the wear rate could be decreased up to two orders of magnitude.It was demonstrated that the released PAO oil from the microcapsules during the friction process produced a boundary lubricating film,which could prevent the direct contact of two rubbing surfaces,and thus leading to an extremely low friction coefficient and wear rate.Moreover,the composites with microcapsules could achieve comparable lubrication properties to the case under the external lubrication condition,while the former case could effectively minimize the lubricant leakage and improve the lubrication efficiency.Lin ZHANG Guoxin XIE Shuai WU Shiguang PENG Xiaoqing ZHANG Dan GUO Shizhu WEN Jianbin LUO 2021Friction2021,9,1:3
15From rock-boring organisms to tunnel boring machines:A new rock breaking technology by bioinspiration显示文摘The purpose of this study is to achieve better understanding of associated mechanisms and to recommend and identify new strategies to develop new rock breaking technology for Tunnel Boring Machines(TBMs).Tunnel Boring Machine tunnelling mainly depends upon the rock breakage caused by cutters moving on a rock surface in a rolling and sliding motion while under the action of thrust force.The rock breaking behaviour is controlled by the mechanical interaction between the cutters and the rock.Due to the high hardness and high abrasiveness of rock,the cutters have to work under very high thrust force and suffer heavy-load-impact and abrasive wear,causing serious wear and low rock breaking efficiency.Rock-boring organisms exist in nature,which achieve drilling and/or tunnelling in rocks through a tribochemical interaction.This phenomenon is called bioerosion and the organisms are natural‘TBMs’to some degree.In this study,the interaction between TBM cutters and rock is presented,and current measures to improve cutter wear and rock breaking efficiency and their limitations are reported.Then,the connotation,mechanism and typical cases of bioerosion are presented.Finally,inspired by bioerosion,a new chemically assisted rock breaking technology is proposed for TBMs.Jing Zheng Zhixin Wu Jiahui Nie Lei Lei Zhongrong Zhou Jianbin Li 2021Biosurface and Biotribology2021,7,4:2
16Melon short internode(CmSi)encodes an ERECTA-like receptor kinase regulating stem elongation through auxin signaling显示文摘Plant height is one of the most important agronomic traits that directly determines plant architecture,and compact or dwarf plants can allow for increased planting density and land utilization as well as increased lodging resistance and economic yield.At least four dwarf/semidwarf genes have been identified in different melon varieties,but none of them have been cloned,and little is known about the molecular mechanisms underlying internode elongation in melon.Here,we report map-based cloning and functional characterization of the first semidwarf gene short internode(Cmsi)in melon,which encodes an ERECTA-like receptor kinase regulating internode elongation.Spatial-temporal expression analyses revealed that CmSI exhibited high expression in the vascular bundle of the main stem during internode elongation.The expression level of CmSI was positively correlated with stem length in the different melon varieties examined.Ectopic expression of CmSI in Arabidopsis and cucumber suggested CmSI as a positive regulator of internode elongation in both species.Phytohormone quantitation and transcriptome analysis showed that the auxin content and the expression levels of a number of genes involved in the auxin signaling pathway were altered in the semidwarf mutant,including several well-known auxin transporters,such as members of the ABCB family and PINFORMED genes.A melon polar auxin transport protein CmPIN2 was identified by protein–protein interaction assay as physically interacting with CmSI to modulate auxin signaling.Thus,CmSI functions in an auxin-dependent regulatory pathway to control internode elongation in melon.Our findings revealed that the ERECTA family gene CmSI regulates stem elongation in melon through auxin signaling,which can directly affect polar auxin transport.Sen Yang Kaige Zhang Huayu Zhu Xiaojing Zhang Wenkai Yan Nana Xu Dongming Liu Jianbin Hu Yufeng Wu Yiqun Weng Luming Yang 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:2

In this study, we carried out a genetic screen for antiviral factors of RNAi pathway in Arabidopsis rdr6 background via inoculation with a 2 bdeficient Cucumber Mosaic Virus(CMV-D2b). We identified a mutant susceptible to CMV-D2b, referred to as enhancer of rdr6(enor) 3-1 rdr6, and found that ENOR3 encodes a functionally unknown protein with high homology to the mammalian Non Imprinted in Prader-Willi/Angelman(NIPA) magnesium transporters. ENOR3 inhibits accumulation of CMV-D2b and acts additively with RDR1, RDR6, DCL2 and DCL4 in antiviral defense.
