| 1 | Laparoscopic vs open approach to resection of hepatocellular carcinoma in patients with known cirrhosis:Systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘AIM: To review the currently available literature comparing laparoscopic to open resection of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) in patients with known liver cirrhosis.METHODS: A literature search of MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane databases was conducted. The search terms used included(laparoscopic OR laparoscopy) AND(hepatic or liver) AND(surgery or resection) AND 'hepatocellular carcinoma' AND(cirrhosis or cirrhotic). Furthermore, to widen the search, we also used the 'related articles' section. Studies reporting a comparison of outcomes and methods of open vs laparoscopic hepatic resection for HCC in patients with liver cirrhosis were included. Meta-analysis of results was performed using a random effects model to compute relative risk(RR) and for dichotomous variablesand standard mean differences(SMD) for continuous variables.RESULTS: A total of 420 patients from 4 cohort studies were included in final analysis. Patients undergoing laparoscopic procedures had statistically less blood loss compared to the open cohort, SMD of-1.01(95%CI:-1.23-0.79), P < 0.001, with a reduced risk of transfusion, RR = 0.19(95%CI: 0.09-0.38), P < 0.001. A wider clearance at tumour resection margins was achieved following a laparoscopic approach, SMD of 0.34(95%CI: 0.08-0.60), P = 0.011. No significant difference was noted between laparoscopic and open resection operative times, SMD of-0.15(95%CI: 0.35-0.05), P = 0.142. The overall RR of suffering from postoperative morbidity is 0.25 in favour of the open surgery cohort(95%CI: 0.17-0.37), P < 0.001. | 2 | An improved three-dimensional spherical DDA model for simulating rock failure显示文摘In this paper, a discontinuous numerical model, namely SDDARF3D(three-dimensional spherical discontinuous deformation analysis for rock failure), is proposed for simulating the whole process of rock failure. Firstly, within the framework of the classical discontinuous deformation analysis(DDA) method, the formulation of three-dimensional spherical DDA(3D SDDA) is deduced; secondly, a bonding and cracking algorithm is constructed and the SDDARF3 D model is proposed; thirdly, corresponding VC++ calculation code is developed and some verification examples are calculated. | 3 | Carbon pools and fluxes in the China Seas and adjacent oceans显示文摘The China Seas include the South China Sea, East China Sea, Yellow Sea, and Bohai Sea. Located off the Northwestern Pacific margin, covering 4700000 km^2 from tropical to northern temperate zones, and including a variety of continental margins/basins and depths, the China Seas provide typical cases for carbon budget studies. The South China Sea being a deep basin and part of the Western Pacific Warm Pool is characterized by oceanic features; the East China Sea with a wide continental shelf, enormous terrestrial discharges and open margins to the West Pacific, is featured by strong cross-shelf materials transport; the Yellow Sea is featured by the confluence of cold and warm waters; and the Bohai Sea is a shallow semiclosed gulf with strong impacts of human activities. Three large rivers, the Yangtze River, Yellow River, and Pearl River, flow into the East China Sea, the Bohai Sea, and the South China Sea, respectively. The Kuroshio Current at the outer margin of the Chinese continental shelf is one of the two major western boundary currents of the world oceans and its strength and position directly affect the regional climate of China. These characteristics make the China Seas a typical case of marginal seas to study carbon storage and fluxes. This paper systematically analyzes the literature data on the carbon pools and fluxes of the Bohai Sea,Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea, including different interfaces(land-sea, sea-air, sediment-water, and marginal sea-open ocean) and different ecosystems(mangroves, wetland, seagrass beds, macroalgae mariculture, coral reefs, euphotic zones, and water column). Among the four seas, the Bohai Sea and South China Sea are acting as CO_2 sources, releasing about0.22 and 13.86–33.60 Tg C yr^(-1) into the atmosphere, respectively, whereas the Yellow Sea and East China Sea are acting as carbon sinks, absorbing about 1.15 and 6.92–23.30 Tg C yr^(-1) of atmospheric CO_2, respectively. Overall, if only the CO_2 exchange at the sea-air interface is considered, the Chinese marginal seas appear to be a source of atmospheric CO_2, with a net release of 6.01–9.33 Tg C yr^(-1), mainly from the inputs of rivers and adjacent oceans. The riverine dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) input into the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea are 5.04, 14.60, and 40.14 Tg C yr^(-1),respectively. The DIC input from adjacent oceans is as high as 144.81 Tg C yr^(-1), significantly exceeding the carbon released from the seas to the atmosphere. In terms of output, the depositional fluxes of organic carbon in the Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea are 2.00, 3.60, 7.40, and 5.92 Tg C yr^(-1), respectively. The fluxes of organic carbon from the East China Sea and South China Sea to the adjacent oceans are 15.25–36.70 and 43.93 Tg C yr^(-1), respectively. The annual carbon storage of mangroves, wetlands, and seagrass in Chinese coastal waters is 0.36–1.75 Tg C yr^(-1), with a dissolved organic carbon(DOC) output from seagrass beds of up to 0.59 Tg C yr^(-1). Removable organic carbon flux by Chinese macroalgae mariculture account for 0.68 Tg C yr^(-1) and the associated POC depositional and DOC releasing fluxes are 0.14 and 0.82 Tg C yr^(-1), respectively. Thus, in total, the annual output of organic carbon, which is mainly DOC, in the China Seas is 81.72–104.56 Tg C yr^(-1). The DOC efflux from the East China Sea to the adjacent oceans is 15.00–35.00 Tg C yr^(-1). The DOC efflux from the South China Sea is 31.39 Tg C yr^(-1). Based on the dynamics analyzing and simulation testing, a flexible magnetic wheel mechanism is created as the robot's walking carriage. It makes the robot directly attracted to the surface of the spherical tank so as to realize the all-position walking and welding without rail. At the same time, a CCD real-time tracing system is developed for the robot to repeatedly trace the all-position and multi-layer seams. | 7 | MicroRNA regulatory pattern in spinal cord ischemia-reperfusion injury显示文摘After spinal cord injury, dysregulated miRNAs appear and can participate in inflammatory responses, as well as the inhibition of apoptosis and axon regeneration through multiple pathways. However, the functions of miRNAs in spinal cord ischemia-reperfusion injury progression remain unclear. miRCURY LNATM Arrays were used to analyze miRNA expression profiles of rats after 90 minutes of ischemia followed by reperfusion for 24 and 48 hours. Furthermore, subsequent construction of aberrantly expressed miRNA regulatory patterns involved cell survival, proliferation, and apoptosis. Remarkably, the mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK) signaling pathway was the most significantly enriched pathway among 24-and 48-hour groups. Bioinformatics analysis and quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction confirmed the persistent overexpression of miR-22-3 p in both groups. These results suggest that the aberrant miRNA regulatory network is possibly regulated MAPK signaling and continuously affects the physiological and biochemical status of cells, thus participating in the regulation of spinal cord ischemia-reperfusion injury. As such, miR-22-3 p may play sustained regulatory roles in spinal cord ischemia-reperfusion injury. | 8 | Face Recognition Based on Support Vector Machine and Nearest Neighbor Classifier显示文摘Support vector machine (SVM), as a novel approach in pattern recognition, has demonstrated a success in face detection and face recognition. In this paper, a face recognition approach based on the SVM classifier with the nearest neighbor classifier (NNC) is proposed. The principal component analysis (PCA) is used to reduce the dimension and extract features. Then one-against-all stratedy is used to train the SVM classifiers. At the testing stage, we propose an algorithm by combining SVM classifier with NNC to improve the correct recognition rate. We conduct the experiment on the Cambridge ORL face database. | 11 | No difference in mortality among ALPPS,two-staged hepatectomy,and portal vein embolization/ligation:A systematic review by updated traditional and network meta-analyses显示文摘Background:There is an ongoing debate on the feasibility,safety,and oncological efficacy of the associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy(ALPPS)technique.The aim of this study was to compare ALPPS,two-staged hepatectomy(TSH),and portal vein embolization(PVE)/ligation(PVL)using updated traditional meta-analysis and network meta-analysis(NMA).Data sources:Electronic databases were used in a systematic literature search.Updated traditional metaanalysis and NMA were performed and compared.Mortality and major morbidity were selected as primary outcomes.Results:Nineteen studies including 1200 patients were selected from the pool of 436 studies.Of these patients,315(31%)and 702(69%)underwent ALPPS and portal vein occlusion(PVO),respectively.Ninetyday mortality based on updated traditional meta-analysis,subgroup analysis of the randomized controlled trials(RCTs),and both Bayesian and frequentist NMA did not demonstrate significant differences between the ALPPS cohort and the PVE,PVL,and TSH cohorts.Moreover,analysis of RCTs did not demonstrate significant differences of major morbidity between the ALPPS and PVO cohorts.The ALPPS cohort demonstrated significantly more favorable outcomes in hypertrophy parameters,time to operation,definitive hepatectomy,and R0 margins rates compared with the PVO cohort.In contrast,1-year disease-free survival was significantly higher in the PVO cohort compared to the ALPPS cohort.Conclusions:This study is the first to use updated traditional meta-analysis and both Bayesian and frequentist NMA and demonstrated no significant differences in 90-day mortality between the ALPPS and other hepatic hypertrophy approaches.Furthermore,two high quality RCTs including 147 patients demonstrated no significant differences in major morbidity between the ALPPS and PVO cohorts. | Paschalis Gavriilidis Robert P Sutcliffe Keith J Roberts Madhava Pai Duncan Spalding Nagy Habib Long R Jiao Mikael H Sodergren | 2020 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2020,19,5: | 6 |

| 14 | Microenvironment Modulation in Metal−Organic Framework-Based Catalysis显示文摘CONSPECTUS:The fine design and regulation of catalysts play critical roles in the development of catalysis.The microenvironment,which gives rise to unique spatial structures and electronic properties around catalytic sites,has been proven to dramatically regulate catalytic behavior in enzymes and homogeneous catalysis.However,understanding the microenvironment modulation(MEM)of catalytic sites remains challenging and very limited in heterogeneous catalysis mainly due to the lack of structural precision and/or tailorability of traditional solid catalysts.Among diverse materials,metal−organic frameworks(MOFs),a class of porous crystalline solids,have been intensively studied as heterogeneous catalysts in recent years.The atomically precise and well tunable structures of MOFs make them an ideal platform for rationally regulating the microenvironment surrounding catalytic sites.Accordingly,their well-defined structures hold great promise for elucidating how the microenvironment modulation affects the resulting catalytic performance.Nevertheless,the investigations of accurate control over the microenvironment of catalytic sites in MOFs for modulated catalysis are still very limited.Therefore,it is of great importance to summarize the related results and provide in-depth insights into microenvironment modulation in MOF-based catalysis,accelerating the future development of this emerging research topic.In this Account,we have presented a summary of our recent attempts to optimize the catalytic performance of MOF-based materials via microenvironment modulation.In view of the unique component and structural advantages of MOFs,we deliver the general fundamentals for rational control over the microenvironment in MOF-based catalysis.Initially,the great opportunities brought about by MOFs for accurate control over microenvironment engineering,including the origin of abundant active sites,flexible regulation strategies,and well-defined structure,are introduced in detail.In the next section,we focus on the specific strategies of microenvironment modulation in MOF-based catalysis,which dominate the molecular/electron-transfer process and regulate the intrinsic activity of catalytic sites.Meanwhile,the related chemical basis and underlying structure−property relationship behind the enhanced catalytic performance will be highlighted.Finally,the major challenges and future outlooks on the microenvironment modulation in MOF-based catalysis will be further discussed.It is expected that this Account would provide an understanding of the importance of microenvironment modulation around catalytic sites in MOF-based catalysts and afford significant inspiration toward enhanced performance by microenvironment engineering in heterogeneous catalysis. | Long Jiao Jingxue Wang Hai-Long Jiang | 2021 | Accounts of Materials Research2021,2,5: | 5 |

| 16 | An introduction to the novel vacuum plume effects experimental system显示文摘This paper introduces a newly developed vacuum Plume effects Experimental System(PES) used for plume effect tests of rocket engines and vacuum heat tests of satellites. The design level, manufacturing technique, and testing capabilities of the PES have reached a highly advanced level at home and abroad. The PES mainly consists of a vacuum chamber, vacuum acquisition system, nitrogen system, helium system, and parameter measurement system. A breakthrough was obtained on the Large Scale Cryo-Pumping System, which was based on a combined liquid nitrogen and liquid helium heat sink. An internal cryopump with a limiting temperature of 4.2 K and an efficient absorption area of 305 m2 was developed. The absorption capability of the cryopump was above 7×107 L/s. Vacuum plume tests were performed in the temperature ranges of ambient temperature, liquid nitrogen, and liquid helium. The experimental results showed that the plume test capability of PES is higher than that of similar foreign equipment STG and CHAFF-4.
