2Clinical and biochemical indexes from 2019-nCoV infected patients linked to viral loads and lung injury显示文摘The outbreak of the 2019-nCoV infection began in December 2019 in Wuhan,Hubei province,and rapidly spread to many provinces in China as well as other countries.Here we report the epidemiological,clinical,laboratory,and radiological characteristics,as well as potential biomarkers for predicting disease severity in 2019-nCoV-infected patients in Shenzhen,China.All 12 cases of the 2019-nCoV-infected patients developed pneumonia and half of them developed acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).The most common laboratory abnormalities were hypoalbuminemia,lymphopenia,decreased percentage of lymphocytes (LYM) and neutrophils (NEU),elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH),and decreased CD8 count.The viral load of 2019-nCoV detected from patient respiratory tracts was positively linked to lung disease severity.ALB,LYM,LYM (%),LDH,NEU (%),and CRP were highly correlated to the acute lung injury.Age,viral load,lung injury score,and blood biochemistry indexes,albumin (ALB),CRP,LDH,LYM (%),LYM,and NEU (%),may be predictors of disease severity.Moreover,the Angiotensin Ⅱlevel in the plasma sample from 2019-nCoV infected patients was markedly elevated and linearly associated to viral load and lung injury.Our results suggest a number of potential diagnosis biomarkers and angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) drugs for potential repurposing treatment of 2019-nCoV infection.Yingxia Liu Yang Yang Cong Zhang Fengming Huang Fuxiang Wang Jing Yuan Zhaoqin Wang Jinxiu Li Jianming Li Cheng Feng Zheng Zhang Lifei Wang Ling Peng Li Chen Yuhao Qin Dandan Zhao Shuguang Tan Lu Yin Jun Xu Congzhao Zhou Chengyu Jiang Lei Liu 2020Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,3:157
3Endoscopic variceal ligation compared with endoscopic injection sclerotherapy for treatment of esophageal variceal hemorrhage:A meta-analysis显示文摘AIM:To compare the effect of endoscopic variceal ligation(EVL)with that of endoscopic injection sclerotherapy(EIS)in the treatment of patients withesophageal variceal bleeding.METHODS:We performed a systematic literature search of multiple online electronic databases.Metaanalysis was conducted to evaluate risk ratio(RR)and95%confidence interval(CI)of combined studies for the treatment of patients with esophageal variceal bleeding between EVL and EIS.RESULTS:Fourteen studies comprising 1236 patients were included in the meta-analysis.The rebleeding rate in actively bleeding varices patients in the EVL group was significantly lower than that in the EIS group(RR=0.68,95%CI:0.57-0.81).The variceal eradication rate in actively bleeding varices patients in the EVL group was significantly higher than that in the EIS group(RR=1.06,95%CI:1.01-1.12).There was no significant difference about mortality rate between the EVL group and EIS group(RR=0.95,95%CI:0.77-1.17).The rate of complications in actively bleeding varices patients in the EVL group was significantly lower than that in the EIS group(RR=0.28,95%CI:0.13-0.58).CONCLUSION:Our meta-analysis has found that EVL is better than EIS in terms of the lower rates of rebleeding,complications,and the higher rate of variceal eradication.Therefore,EVL is the first choice for esophageal variceal bleeding.Cong Dai Wei-Xin Liu Min Jiang Ming-Jun Sun 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,8:89

6Mechanical behavior of coal under different mining rates:A case study from laboratory experiments to field testing显示文摘During the development of hot dry rock,the research on thermal fatigue damage caused by thermal shock of cold and heat cycles is the basis that ensures the long-term utilization of geothermal resources,but there are not enough relevant studies at present.Based on this,the thermal damage tests of granite at different temperatures(250,350,450°C)and quenching cycles(1,5,10,15 cycles)were carried out.Preliminary reveals the damage mechanism and heat transfer law of the quenching cycle effect on hot dry rock.The results show that with the increase of temperature and cycles,the uneven thermal expansion of minerals and the thermal shock caused by quenching promote the crack development of granite,resulting in the decrease of P-wave velocity,thermal conductivity and uniaxial compressive strength of granite.Meanwhile,the COMSOL was used to simulate the heat transfer of hot dry rock under different heat treatment conditions.It concluded that the increase in the number of quenching cycles reduced the heat transfer capacity of the granite,especially more than 10 quenching cycles,which also reflects that the thermal fatigue damage leads to a longer time for the temperature recovery of the hot dry rock mass.In addition,the three-dimensional nonlinear fitting relationship among thermal conductivity,temperature and cycle number was established for the first time,which can better reveal the change rule of thermal conductivity after quenching thermal fatigue effect of hot dry rock.The research results provide theoretical support for hot dry rock reservoir reconstruction and production efficiency evaluation.Mingzhong Gao Jing Xie Yanan Gao Wenyong Wang Cong Li Bengao Yang Junjun Liu Heping Xie 2021International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,5:39
7Electro-acupuncture regulates the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway in a rat model of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease显示文摘Objective: Acupuncture has a definite therapeutic effect on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD), and the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway(CAP) has been shown to be involved in regulation of inflammation. In this study, we investigated whether electro-acupuncture(EA) affects the CAP in COPD.Methods: Sprague-Dawley rats were induced into COPD through exposure to cigarette smoke combined with lipopolysaccharide. EA treatment was applied at Zusanli(ST36) and Feishu(BL13) points for 30 min/d for 7 d. Seventy-two rats were randomly divided into six study groups, including normal, normal + EA,normal + α-bungarotoxin(a-BGT)(the antagonist of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor a7 subunit(a7 nAChR)) + EA, COPD, COPD + EA, and COPD + α-BGT + EA. Lung function, pathology and vagus nerve discharge were tested. The levels of acetylcholine(ACh), acetylcholinesterase(AChE), interleukin-6(IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-a) in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF) and lung tissue were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The mRNA and protein expression and immunoreactivity of a7 nAChR and its postreceptor inflammation signal pathway, including janus kinase 2(JAK2), signal transducers and activators of transcription 3(STAT3), nuclear factor-KB(NF-κB), were observed by quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, Western blot and immunohistochemistry.Results: Compared with normal rats, there were a significant decline in lung function and discharge of the vagus nerve(P < 0.01), a marked sign of lung inflammation and an increase of ACh, AChE, IL-6 and TNF-a level in BALF or lung tissue(P < 0.05, P < 0.01) and higher expression of a7 nAChR, JAK2, STAT3 and NF-κB(P<0.05, P<0.01) in the COPD rats. In rats receiving EA, the lung function and vagal discharge were enhanced(P < 0.01), lung inflammation was improved and the levels of ACh, AChE, IL-6 and TNF-a were decreased(P<0.01). Further, the expression of a7 nAChR, JAK2, STAT3 and NF-κB was downregulated(P < 0.05, P < 0.01). 8Development and progress on hydrogen metallurgy显示文摘Hydrogen metallurgy is a technology that applies hydrogen instead of carbon as a reduction agent to reduce CO2 emission,and the use of hydrogen is beneficial to promoting the sustainable development of the steel industry.Hydrogen metallurgy has numerous applications,such as H2reduction ironmaking in Japan,ULCORED and hydrogen-based steelmaking in Europe;hydrogen flash ironmaking technology in the US;HYBRIT in the Nordics;Midrex H2TM by Midrex Technologies,Inc.(United States);H2FUTURE by Voestalpine(Austria);and SALCOS by Salzgitter AG(Germany).Hydrogen-rich blast furnaces(BFs)with COG injection are common in China.Running BFs have been industrially tested by AnSteel,XuSteel,and BenSteel.In a currently under construction pilot plant of a coal gasification–gas-based shaft furnace with an annual output of 10000 t direct reduction iron(DRI),a reducing gas composed of 57 vol%H2 and 38 vol%CO is prepared via the Ende method.The life cycle of the coal gasification–gas-based shaft furnace–electric furnace short process(30 wt%DRI+70 wt%scrap)is assessed with 1 t of molten steel as a functional unit.This plant has a total energy consumption per ton of steel of 263.67 kg standard coal and a CO2 emission per ton of steel of 829.89 kg,which are superior to those of a traditional BF converter process.Considering domestic materials and fuels,hydrogen production and storage,and hydrogen reduction characteristics,we believe that a hydrogen-rich shaft furnace will be suitable in China.Hydrogen production and storage with an economic and large-scale industrialization will promote the further development of a full hydrogen shaft furnace.Jue Tang Man-sheng Chu Feng Li Cong Feng Zheng-gen Liu Yu-sheng Zhou 2020International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2020,27,6:34

11Coesite inclusions in zircon from gneisses identified by laser Raman microspectrometer in ultra-high pressure zone of Dabie Mountains,China显示文摘The mineral inclusions in zircon from gneisses in ultra-high pressure (UHP) zone of the Dabie Mountains were identified by using a laser Raman microspectrometer. Coesite occurs as inclusions in zircons from all types of gneiss. Other important minerals, such as jadeite, omphacite, aragonite, barite, and anhydrite were also found as inclusion minerals. 15T cell–associated immunoregulation and antiviral effect of oxymatrine in hydrodynamic injection HBV mouse model显示文摘Although oxymatrine(OMT) has been shown to directly inhibit the replication of hepatitis B virus(HBV) in vitro, limited research has been done with this drug in vivo. In the present study, the antiviral effect of OMT was investigated in an immunocompetent mouse model of chronic HBV infection.The infection was achieved by tail vein injection of a large volume of DNA solution. OMT(2.2, 6.7 and20 mg/kg) was administered by daily intraperitoneal injection for 6 weeks. The efficacy of OMT was evaluated by the levels of HBV DNA, hepatitis B surface antigen(HBs Ag), hepatitis B e antigen(HBe Ag)and hepatitis B core antigen(HBc Ag). The immunoregulatory activity of OMT was evaluated by serum ELISA and flow cytometry. Results shows that OMT at 20 mg/kg inhibited HBV replication, and it was more efficient than entecavir(ETV) in the elimination of serum HBs Ag and intrahepatic HBc Ag. Inaddition, OMT accelerated the production of interferon-γ(IFN-γ) in a dose-dependent manner in CD4^+T cells. Our findings demonstrate the beneficial effects of OMT on the enhancement of immunological function and in the control of HBV antigens. 16Risk factors for acute kidney injury in patients with acute myocardial infarction显示文摘Background:Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a serious and fatal complication of acute myocardial infarction (AMI).It has high shortand long-term mortality rates and a poor prognosis but is potentially preventable.However,the current incidence,risk factors,and outcomes of AKI in the Chinese population are not well understood and would serve the first step to identify high-risk patients who could receive preventative care.Methods:The medical data of 1124 hospitalized patients diagnosed with AMI from October 2013 to September 2015 were reviewed.AKI was defined according to the 2012 Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes criteria.All the patients were divided into either the AKI group or the non-AKI group.A univariate comparison analysis was performed to identify possible risk factors associated with AKI.A multiple logistic regression analysis was used to identify the independent risk factors for AKI in patients with AMI.Results:Overall,the incidence of AKI was 26.0%.The mortality rate of the AKI group was 20.5 %,and the mortality rate of the nonAKI group was 0.6%(P < 0.001).Logistic regression analysis showed that the independent risk factors for AKI in patients with AMI included:age (>60 years old)(odds ratio [OR] 1.04,95% confidence interval [CI] 1.02-1.05,P =0.000),hypertension (OR 2.51,95% CI 1.62-3.87,P =0.000),chronic kidney disease (OR 3.52,95% CI 2.01-6.16,P =0.000),Killip class ≥3 (OR 5.22,95% CI 3.07-8.87,P =0.000),extensive anterior myocardial infarction (OR 3.02,95% CI 1.85--4.93,P =0.000),use of furosemide (OR 1.02,95% CI 1.02-1.03,P =0.000),non-use of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors/angiotensin receptor blocker (OR 1.58,95% CI 1.04-2.40,P =0.032).These factors provided an accurate tool to identify patients at high risk of developing AKI.Contusions:Approximately 26.0% of patients undergoing AMI developed AKI,and the development of AKI was strongly correlated with in-hospital mortality.The risk factors for AKI in patients with AMI were determined to help identify high-risk patients and make appropriate clinical decisions.Cong Wang Yuan-Yuan Pei Yun-Hui Ma Xiao-Lu Ma Zhi-Wei Liu Ji-Hong Zhu Chun-Sheng Li 2019Chinese Medical Journal2019,,14:20
17Traditional Chinese herbal extracts inducing autophagy as a novel approach in therapy of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease显示文摘Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) is one of the leading causes of chronic liver diseases around the world due to the modern sedentary and food-abundant lifestyle, which is characterized by excessive fat accumulation in the liver related with causes other than alcohol abuse. It is widely acknowledged that insulin resistance, dysfunctional lipid metabolism, endoplasmic reticulum stress, oxidative stress, inflammation, and apoptosis/necrosis may all contribute to NAFLD. Autophagy is a protective self-digestion of intracellular organelles, including lipid droplets(lipophagy), in response to stress to maintain homeostasis. Lipophagy is another pathway for lipid degradation besides lipolysis. It is reported that impaired autophagy also contributes to NAFLD. Some studies have suggested that the histological characteristics of NAFLD(steatosis, lobular inflammation, and peri-sinusoid fibrosis) might be improved by treatment with traditional Chinese herbal extracts, while autophagy may be induced. This review will provide insights into the characteristics of autophagy in NAFLD and the related role/mechanisms of autophagy induced by traditional Chinese herbal extracts such as resveratrol, Lycium barbarum polysaccharides, dioscin, bergamot polyphenol fraction, capsaicin, and garlic-derived S-allylmercaptocysteine, which may inhibit the progression of NAFLD. 18Anti-inflammatory and anti-thrombogenic effects of atorvastatin in acute ischemic stroke显示文摘Atorvastatin decreases inflammation and thrombogenesis in patients with carotid artery plaque. Atorvastatin is administered to lower lipid levels, but its anti-inflammatory and anti-thrombogenic effects remain unclear. Eighty-nine patients from northeastern China with acute ischemic stroke caused by large-artery atherosclerosis were randomly divided into the study and control groups. All patients received routine treatment, including antiplatelet therapy, circulatory support, and symp-tomatic treatment. The study group (n=43) also received daily atorvastatin 20 mg/d, and the control group (n=46) received daily placebo pills containing glucose. After 4 weeks, the levels of C-reactive protein, fibrinogen, and D-dimer were significantly lower in the study group than in the control group. Decreases in the levels of C-reactive protein, fibrinogen, and D-dimer were not associated with de-creases in the levels of triacylglycerol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. 19Research on in-situ condition preserved coring and testing systems显示文摘As shallow resources are increasingly depleted,the mechanics'theory and testing technology of deep insitu rock has become urgent.Traditional coring technologies obtain rock samples without retaining the in-situ environmental conditions,leading to distortion of the measured parameters.Herein,a coring and testing systems retaining in-situ geological conditions is presented:the coring system that obtains in-situ rock samples,and the transfer and testing system that stores and analyzes the rocks under a reconstructed environment.The ICP-Coring system mainly consists of the pressure controller,active insulated core reactor and insulation layer and sealing film.The ultimate bearing strength of 100 MPa for pressurepreservation,temperature control accuracy of 0.97%for temperature-retained are realized.CH_(4)and CO permeability of the optimized sealing film are as low as 3.85 and 0.33 ppm/min.The average tensile elongation of the film is 152.4%and the light transmittance is reduced to 0%.Additionally,the pressure and steady-state temperature accuracy for reconstructing the in-situ environment of transfer and storage system up to 1%and±0.2 is achieved.The error recorded of the noncontact sensor ring made of lowdensity polymer is less than 6%than that of the contact test.The system can provide technical support for the deep in-situ rock mechanics research,improving deep resource acquisition capabilities and further clarifying deep-earth processes.He-Ping Xie Tao Liu Ming-Zhong Gao Ling Chen Hong-Wei Zhou Yang Ju Feng Gao Xiao-Bo Peng Xiong-Jun Li Rui-Dong Peng Ya-Nan Gao Cong Li Zhi-Qiang He Ming-Qing Yang Zhi-Yu Zhao 2021Petroleum Science2021,18,6:19
