1Thermodynamics of strange quark matter with the density-dependent bag constant显示文摘The thermodynamics of strange quark matter with density dependent bag constant are studied self-consistently in the framework of the general ensemble theory and the MIT bag model.In our treatment,an additional term is found in the expression of pressure.With the additional term,the zero pressure locates exactly at the lowest energy state,indicating that our treatment is a self-consistently thermodynamic treatment.The self-consistent equations of state of strange quark matter in both the normal and color-flavor-locked phase are derived.They are both softer than the inconsistent ones.Strange stars in both the normal and color-flavor locked phase have smaller masses and radii in our treatment.It is also interesting to find that the energy density at a star surface in our treatment is much higher than that in the inconsistent treatment for both phases.Consequently,the surface properties and the corresponding observational properties of strange stars in our treatment are different from those in the inconsistent treatment.ZHU MingFeng LIU GuangZhou YU Zi XU Yan SONG WenTao 2009Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2009,52,10:3

3Tocilizumab in patients with moderate or severe COVID-19: a randomized, controlled, open-label, multicenter trial显示文摘Tocilizumab has been reported to attenuate the“cytokine storm”in COVID-19 patients.We attempted to verify the effectiveness and safety of tocilizumab therapy in COVID-19 and identify patients most likely to benefit from this treatment.We conducted a randomized,controlled,open-label multicenter trial among COVID-19 patients.The patients were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to receive either tocilizumab in addition to standard care or standard care alone.The cure rate,changes of oxygen saturation and interference,and inflammation biomarkers were observed.Thirty-three patients were randomized to the tocilizumab group,and 32 patients to the control group.The cure rate in the tocilizumab group was higher than that in the control group,but the difference was not statistically significant(94.12%vs.87.10%,rate difference 95%CI−7.19%–21.23%,P=0.4133).The improvement in hypoxia for the tocilizumab group was higher from day 4 onward and statistically significant from day 12(P=0.0359).In moderate disease patients with bilateral pulmonary lesions,the hypoxia ameliorated earlier after tocilizumab treatment,and less patients(1/12,8.33%)needed an increase of inhaled oxygen concentration compared with the controls(4/6,66.67%;rate difference 95%CI−99.17%to−17.50%,P=0.0217).No severe adverse events occurred.More mild temporary adverse events were recorded in tocilizumab recipients(20/34,58.82%)than the controls(4/31,12.90%).Tocilizumab can improve hypoxia without unacceptable side effect profile and significant influences on the time virus load becomes negative.For patients with bilateral pulmonary lesions and elevated IL-6 levels,tocilizumab could be recommended to improve outcome.Dongsheng Wang Binqing Fu Zhen Peng Dongliang Yang Mingfeng Han Min Li Yun Yang Tianjun Yang Liangye Sun Wei Li Wei Shi Xin Yao Yan Ma Fei Xu Xiaojing Wang Jun Chen Daqing Xia Yubei Sun Lin Dong Jumei Wang Xiaoyu Zhu Min Zhang Yonggang Zhou Aijun Pan Xiaowen Hu Xiaodong Mei Haiming Wei Xiaoling Xu 2021Frontiers of Medicine2021,15,3:2

6Engineered extracellular vesicles for concurrent Anti-PDL1 immunotherapy and chemotherapy显示文摘Immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICI)targeting PD-1/PD-L1 have been approved for the treatment of a variety of cancers.However,the efficacy of antibody-based ICIs could be further improved by mitigating anti-drug antibodies,proteolytic cleavage,and on-target off-tumor toxicity.One strategy for accomplishing this is through the use of extracellular vesicles(EVs),cell derived submicron vesicles with many unique properties.We constructed an engineered MDA-MB-231 cell line for harvesting EVs.This was accomplished by overexpressing a high-affinity variant human PD-1 protein(havPD-1),while simultaneously knocking out intrinsic PD-L1 and beta-2 microglobulin.The engineered havPD-1 EVs reduced PD-L1 overexpressing cancer cell proliferation and induced cellular apoptosis.Moreover,the EVs were shown to efficiently block PD-L1 mediated T cell suppression.Meanwhile antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity and complement-dependent cytotoxicity were not observed.The havPD-1 EVs treatment resulted in robust anti-tumor activity in both preventative co-implantation and therapeutic xenograft tumor models reconstituted with human T cells.The efficacy of the havPD-1 EVs was shown to be comparable to clinical anti-PD1 monoclonal antibodies.Additionally,loading the havPD-1 EVs with a potent PARP inhibitor was shown to further augment treatment efficacy.In brief,the engineered universal EVs harboring havPD-1 proteins can be used for cancer concurrent immunotherapy and chemotherapy.Yundi Chen Lixue Wang Mingfeng Zheng Chuandong Zhu Guosheng Wang Yiqiu Xia Ethan J.Blumenthal Wenjun Mao Yuan Wan 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,3:1

13Segregation of Re at theγ/γ'boundary of Ni-based single crystal superalloys revealed by first-principles calculations based Monte-Carlo simulations显示文摘Nickel-based single crystal superalloys have been widely used in aero-engines and gas turbine engines.To improve the creep resistance,rhenium is often added to the alloys.However,it is not yet fully under-stood how the added Re elements distribute in the alloys and how the microstructure evolves with the addition of Re.Here,we performed extensive first-principles calculations based Monte-Carlo simulated annealing of Ni-Al-Re ternary alloys with different Re concentrations ranging from 0.5 at.%to 6.0 at.%.The results demonstrate that with the decreasing temperature,most of Re atoms stay in theγphase,while a few of Re atoms stay in theγ'phase and tend to occupy the Al positions.At low temperatures,the Re atoms segregate at theγ/γ'boundary,in good agreement with experiment.We find that the disorder-order transition temperature of the Ni-Al-Re ternary alloys increases with the Re concentration due to the Re-enhanced Al-Al ordering tendency.In addition,we observe that at low temperatures the Re segregation at theγ/γ'boundary promotes the formation of Ni 4 Re-or Ni 8 Re-like local structures as the Re concentration is over 2 at.%.The formation of a large amount of these local structures consumes the Re atoms in solid solutions,and thus from the solid-solution strengthening point of view,this would have a negative influence on the creep resistance of the superalloys.This work provides important atomistic insights on the Re distribution and its effects on the stability of superalloys.Heyu Zhu Jiantao Wang Lei Wang Yongpeng Shi Mingfeng Liu Jiangxu Li Yun Chen Yingche Ma Peitao Liu Xing-Qiu Chen 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,12:0
14Optimization Study on Regenerative Organic Rankine Cycle(ORC) with Heat Source of Low-Grade Steam显示文摘Aiming at improving the performance of Organic Rankine Cycle(ORC)system with low-grade steam as heat source,this work studied and optimized the main operating parameters of the ORC system.The effects of evapo-ration temperature,superheat degree,condensation temperature and regenerator pinch temperature difference on the system performance were obtained.The optimization for the operating parameters is based on the indicators of specific net power output,waste heat pollution,cycle exergy efficiency,and total UA value(the product of overall heat transfer coefficient and heat transfer area of heat exchanger).The results show that the increase of the evaporation temperature and the superheat degree,and the decrease of the condensation temperature and regenerator pinch temperature difference can improve general system performance but lead to weaker economic performance.The optimal evaporation temperature,superheat degree,condensation temperature and regenerator pinch temperature difference are determined as 139℃,4°C,36°C and 8°C,respectively,reaching net power output of 114.73 kW,exergy efficiency of 37.10%.Besides,it is indicated that the regenerative ORC system can reach 13.6%additional net power output compared to the ORC system without the regenerator.Zhao Wang Su Yan Mingfeng Zhu Wen Zhu Han Zhang Xiang Gou 2022Energy Engineering2022,119,6:0
15Ab initio Molecular Dynamics Study of Local Atomic Structure Evolution of U–Zr Alloy Melts upon Solidification显示文摘We study the local atomic structure evolution of UZr and UZr_(2) alloy melts upon solidification through ab initio molecular dynamics simulations.This is achieved by analyzing in detail the temperature dependence of structure factors,pair correlation functions,the bond angle distributions,Honeycutt-Anderson index and Voronoi tessellation analysis as well as local bond orientation order parameters.We observe that as the temperature decreases the pair correlation functions and structure factors become more structured with clear distinctions at the liquid–solid phase transition temperature.The Honeycutt-Anderson indices and Voronoi tessellation analysis indicate that the liquid phase is predominantly comprised of the icosahedra-like local structures,whose fraction increases with decreasing temperature up to the transition temperature and then abruptly drops at the transition temperature,whereas the bcc-like local atomic structures dominate during the solidification process.Furthermore,the bond orientation order analyses with\({\overline{w}}_{6}\)–\({\overline{q}}_{6}\)correlation map and bond angle distribution imply that the local structures mainly consist of the bcc-type during the solidification below the transition temperature.All the analyses are consistent with each other,showing a first-order liquid to solid phase transition for both UZr and UZr_(2) solid solutions,which only differ in different predicted transition temperatures.This work provides a comprehensive insight into the detailed local structure evolution during the solidification of the U–Zr alloy melts at the atomic level.Similar strategies used here can be extended to studying the liquid–solid phase transition in other alloy systems.Mingfeng Liu Jiantao Wang Yongpeng Shi Heyu Zhu Yan Sun Peitao Liu Xing-Qiu Chen 2023Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2023,36,9:0
16Knocking-Out OsPDR7 Triggers Up-Regulation of OsZIP9 Expression and Enhances Zinc Accumulation in Rice显示文摘Zinc(Zn) is an essential trace mineral that is required for plant growth and development. A number of protein transporters, which are involved in Zn uptake, translocation and distribution, are finely regulated to maintain Zn homeostasis in plant. In this study, we functionally characterized an ATP-binding cassette(ABC) transporter gene, OsPDR7, which is involved in Zn homeostasis. Os PDR7 encodes a plasma membrane-localized protein that is expressed mainly in the exodermis and xylem in the rice root.ospdr7 mutants resulted in higher Zn accumulation compared with the wild type. Heterogeneous expression of OsPDR7 in a yeast mutant rescued the Zn-deficiency phenotype, implying transport activity of OsPDR7 to Zn in yeast. However, no ZIP genes except for OsZIP9 showed change in expression profile in the ospdr7 mutants, which suggested that OsPDR7 maintains cellular Zn homeostasis through regulating Os ZIP9 expression. RNA-Seq analysis further revealed a set of differentially expressed genes between the wild type and ospdr7 mutants that allowed us to propose a possible OsPDR7-associated signaling network involving transporters, hormone responsive genes, and transcription factors. 17The S100 calcium binding protein A11 promotes liver fibrogenesis by targeting TGF-βsignaling显示文摘Liver fibrosis is a key transformation stage and also a reversible pathological process in various types of chronic liver diseases.However,the pathogenesis of liver fibrosis still remains elusive.Here,we report that the calcium binding protein A11(S100A11)is consistently upregulated in the integrated data from GSE liver fibrosis and tree shrew liver proteomics.S100A11 is also experimentally activated in liver fibrosis in mouse,rat,tree shrew,and human with liver fibrosis.While overexpression of S100A11 in vivo and in vitro exacerbates liver fibrosis,the inhibition of S100A11 improves liver fibrosis.Mechanistically,S100A11 activates hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)and the fibrogenesis process via the regulation of the deacetylation of Smad3 in the TGF-βsignaling pathway.S100A11 physically interacts with SIRT6,a deacetylase of Smad2/3,which may competitively inhibit the interaction between SIRT6 and Smad2/3.The subsequent release and activation of Smad2/3 promote the activation of HSCs and fibrogenesis.Additionally,a significant elevation of S100A11 in serum is observed in clinical patients.Our study uncovers S100A11 as a novel profibrogenic factor in liver fibrosis,which may represent both a potential biomarker and a promising therapy target for treating liver fibrosis and fibrosis-related liver diseases.Tingting Zhu Linqiang Zhang Chengbin Li Xiaoqiong Tan Jing Liu Huiqin Li Qijing Fan Zhiguo Zhang Mingfeng Zhan Lin Fu Jinbo Luo Jiawei Geng Yingjie Wu Xiaoju Zou Bin Liang 2022Journal of Genetics and Genomics2022,49,4:0
