Side Effects during Treatment of Advanced Gastric Carcinoma by Chemotherapy Combined with CIK-cell Transfusion in Elderly People显示文摘OBJECTIVE To study the side effects and therapeutic results of autologous cytokine-induced killer(CIK)cell treatment in elderly patients with advanced gastric cancer. METHODS CIK cells were induced and cultured using biotechnics in vitro, and then the cells were infused back into the patients.Sixty elderly gastric cancer patients treated by chemotherapy(FOLFOX4 protocol)were followed-up.Among them,29 patients were treated with CIK cells during application of chemotherapy.Short-term curative effects and adverse events from the CIK transfusion and chemotherapy were observed. RESULTS Eight cases developed partial remission(PR),9 cases moderate remission(MR),7 cases stable disease(SD)and 5 cases progressive disease(PD).Out of a total of 29 patients who received chemotherapy combined with autologous CIK therapy, the total remission rate(PR+MR)was 58.6%.The total remission rate following chemotherapy alone was 45.2%,including 5 PR cases,9 MR cases,7 SD cases, and 10 PD cases. There was a relatively lower rate of severe chemotherapic toxicities in the CIK- cell transfusion group.Side e?ects of autologous CIK transfusion included chills(13 cases),fever(9 cases),nausea and vomiting (1 case)and general malaise(3 cases).Side effects were treated with conventional therapy resulting in their amelioration. No patients developed shock, blood capillary leakage syndrome,or abnormalities in routine blood, urine, liver and renal function tests. CONCLUSION Adoptive immunotherapy with autologous CIK cells may decrease the clinical signs and symptoms of elderly patients who suffer from advanced gastric cancer.Adverse reactions of patients can be alleviated by conventional therapy. Autologous CIK-cell transfusion may improve endurance to chemotherapy. | Jingting Jiang Changping Wu Liangrong Shi Ning Xu Haifeng Deng Mingyang Lu Mei Ji Hbei Zhu Xueguang Zhang | 2008 | Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology2008,5,2: | 10
Stem cell therapy for chronic skin wounds in the era of personalized medicine:From bench to bedside显示文摘With the significant financial burden of chronic cutaneous wounds on the healthcare system, not to the personal burden mention on those individuals afflicted,it has become increasingly essential to improve our clinical treatments. This requires the translation of the most recent benchtop approaches to clinical wound repair as our current treatment modalities have proven insufficient. The most promising potential treatment options rely on stem cellbased therapies.Stem cell proliferation and signaling play crucial roles in every phase of the wound healing process and chronic wounds are often associated with impaired stem cell function.Clinical approaches involving stem cells could thus be utilized in some cases to improve a body’s inhibited healing capacity. We aim to present the laboratory research behind the mechanisms and effects of this technology as well as current clinical trials which showcase their therapeutic potential.Given the current problems and complications presented by chronic wounds,we hope to show that developing the clinical applications of stem cell therapies is the rational next step in improving wound care. | Elam Coalson Elliot Bishop Wei Liu Yixiao Feng Mia Spezia Bo Liu Yi Shen Di Wu Scott Du Alexander J.Li Zhenyu Ye Ling Zhao Daigui Cao Alissa Li Ofir Hagag Alison Deng Winny Liu Mingyang Li Rex C.Haydon Lewis Shi Aravind Athiviraham Michael J.Lee Jennifer Moriatis Wolf Guillermo A.Ameer Tong-Chuan He Russell R.Reid | 2019 | Genes & Diseases2019,6,4: | 6
A model to assess fundamental and realized carrying capacities of island ecosystem:A case study in the southern Miaodao Archipelago of China显示文摘Research on carrying capacity, aiming at maintaining the limited ability of the Earth's life supporting system to sustain human development, requires a comprehensive and ecosystem-based approach to monitor and assess the localized sustainability of coupled social and ecological systems. A definition termed the ecosystem-based carrying capacity of island(EBCCI) was developed in this paper of which the indices of fundamental and realized carrying capacities of island(FCCI and RCCI) were highlighted to emphasize the inter-dependencies between social systems and ecological systems. In order to avoid the difficulties and uncertainties of direct assessment, the related assessment model was established on the basis of synthetic evaluation of inherent and external factors affecting the EBCCI. The southern Miaodao Archipelago(SMA) located in the intersection of the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea, China, was taken as a typical example to acquire integrated recognition of the island ecosystem and its carrying capacity so as to discuss its sustainable development. The index scores of FCCI and RCCI in the SMA were 0.818 5 and 0.712 9 out of 1.0, respectively, with acceptable uncertainties. The results showed a relatively well capacity to sustain progress and relatively well realization of the carrying capacity of island ecosystem, owing to a well capacity of ecologically regulating, general performance of both ecologically supporting and resource provisioning, and a relatively high level of social supporting system. The study implied that it was critical to optimize the inter-dependencies and to sustain the relative balance between social systems and ecological systems so as to improve the RCCI and further facilitate the sustainability of SMA. The approach proposed in this paper provides a powerful tool which is well applicative to the regional level of an oceanic island or archipelago to study the sustainable development and can be further popularized to the coastal zone. | SHI Honghua SHEN Chengcheng ZHENG Wei LI Fen WANG Xiaoli CHI Yuan GUO Zhen QIAO Mingyang GAO Liyuan DING Dewen | 2016 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2016,35,2: | 4
Spatiotemporal heterogeneity of phytoplankton diversity and its relation to water environmental factors in the southern waters of Miaodao Archipelago,China显示文摘To study the water quality influenced by the anthropogenic activities and its impact on the phytoplankton diversity in the surface waters of Miaodao Archipelago, the spatiotemporal variations in phytoplankton communities and the environmental properties of the surface waters surrounding the Five Southern Islands of Miaodao Archipelago were investigated, based on seasonal field survey conducted from November 2012 to August 2013. During the survey, a total of 109 phytoplankton species from 3 groups were identified in the southern waters of Miaodao Archipelago, of which 77 were diatoms, 29 were dinoflagellates, and 3 were chrysophytes. Species number was higher in winter(73), moderate in autumn(70), but lower in summer(31) and spring(27). The species richness index in autumn(5.92) and winter(4.28) was higher than that in summer(2.83) and spring(1.41).The Shannon-Wiener diversity index was high in autumn(2.82), followed by winter(1.99) and summer(1.92), and low in spring(0.07). The species evenness index in autumn(0.46) and summer(0.39) was higher than that in winter(0.32) and spring(0.02). On the basis of principal component analysis(PCA) and redundancy analysis(RDA), we found that dissolved inorganic nitrogen(DIN) and chemical oxygen demand(COD) in spring, COD in summer, p H in autumn, and salinity and oil pollutant in winter, respectively, showed the strongest association with the distribution of phytoplankton diversity. The spatial heterogeneity of the southern waters of Miaodao Archipelago was quite obvious, and three zones, i.e., northeastern, southwestern and inter-island water area, were identified by cluster analysis(CA) based on key environmental variables. | ZHENG Wei LI Fen SHI Honghua HUO Yuanzi LI Yan CHI Yuan GUO Zhen WANG Yuanyuan SHEN Chengcheng LIU Jian QIAO Mingyang | 2016 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2016,35,2: | 3
Clinical Exploration of Transcatheter Closure of Patent Ductus Arteriosus With Duct Occluder in Infants显示文摘Objectives To explore the feasibility, necessity, and security of transcatheter closure of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) in infants. Methods There were 230 infants with PDA. The ages were (7.3±3.2) months and the weight (6.6±2.8) Kg in average. They were separated into two groups. Group A was formed by the infants weighing less than 6 Kg, Group B over 6 Kg. Right heart catheterization was performed first to calculate the ratio of Qp/Qs. Then descending aortography demonstrated the diameter and shape of PDA. Proper occluder was selected to finish the intervention. Echocardiography was performed after intervention 24 hours and 1, 3, 6, 12 and 24 months. Results In Group A the technical achievement ratio was 94.6% with the average diameter of PDA (6.2±3.2) mm. In Group B the technical achievement ratio was 100% with the average diameter of PDA (4.8±2.5) mm. We used the Amplatzer Duct Occluder with the type from 6-8 mm to 12-14 mm, the delivery sheath from 6 French to 8 French. 24 hours after intervention, echocardiography demonstrated that there were 6 residual shunts in Group A while 22 in Group B. After 1 year, residual shunt existed in neither group. There were 4 patients whose femoral arteries pulsed weakly after intervention in Group A, while in Group B there were 3. They all recovered 24 hours after the application of urokinase. In Group A blood flow velocity in descending aorta increased in 5 infants, while in Group B there were 3. They all resumed in 6-12 months. Conclusions Transcatheter closure of PDA in infants is safe and technically feasible. However, indication should be strictly selected and the intervention should be performed by experienced physician. | Mingyang Qian Yufen Li Zhiwei Zhang jijun Shi Shushui Wang Junjie Li | 2007 | South China Journal of Cardiology2007,8,4: | 1

African swine fever virus MGF505-3R inhibits cGAS-STING-mediated IFN-βpathway activation by degrading TBK1显示文摘African swine fever virus(ASFV)is an important pathogen causing acute infectious disease in domestic pigs and wild boars that seriously endangers the global swine industry. As ASFV is structurally complex and encodes a large number of functional proteins,no effective vaccine has been developed to date. Thus, dissecting the mechanisms of immune escape induced by ASFV proteins is crucial.A previous study showed that the ASFV-encoded protein is an important factor in host immunity. In this study,we identified a negative regulator,MGF505-3R,that significantly downregulated cGAS/STING-and poly(dG:dC)-mediated IFN-βand interferon stimulation response element(ISRE)reporter activity and suppressed IFNB1 and IFIT2 mRNA levels. In addition,TBK1,IRF3 and IκBαphosphorylation levels were also inhibited.Mechanistically,MGF505-3R interacted with cGAS/TBK1/IRF3 and targeted TBK1 for degradation, thereby disrupting the cGAS-STING-mediated IFN-βsignaling pathway, which appears to be highly correlated with autophagy.Knockdown MGF505-3R expression enhanced IFN-βand IL-1βproduction.Taken together, our study revealed a negative regulatory mechanism involving the MGF505-3R-cGAS-STING axis and provided insights into an evasion strategy employed by ASFV that involves autophagy and innate signaling pathways. | Mingyang Cheng Jiawei Luo Yuetong Duan Yu Yang Chunwei Shi Yu Sun Yiyuan Lu Junhong Wang Xiaoxu Li Jianzhong Wang Nan Wang Wentao Yang Yanlong Jiang Guilian Yang Yan Zeng Chunfeng Wang Xin Cao | 2022 | Animal Diseases2022,2,3: | 1
Resistivity response of coal under hydraulic fracturing with different injection rates:A laboratory study显示文摘Resistivity will have different response characteristics to the hydraulic fracture propagation process. In this work, a resistivity testing system for hydraulic fracturing specimens was established. Resistivity and acoustic emission(AE) information were jointly analysed to determine the dynamic response characteristics of resistivity during hydraulic fracture propagation. The results show that the water and fracture exert a competitive influence on the connection structure of the circuit, and there are two significant peak resistivity points in the curve, presenting a double peak therein. The peak resistivity data of the specimen with a larger fracture area are much different from the initial value. With the increase of the rate of injection, the range of variation of the highest value that can be reached with the specimen resistivity decreases. High resistivity rates or high resistivity fluctuations exhibit rapid a release of fracture energy. The fracture failure mode dominated by shear fractures makes the formation produce a “series+parallel” electrical connection structure;a calculation model of formation resistivity based on shear and tensile failure was proposed to characterize the proportion of different types of hydraulic fractures and elucidate the control effect of matrix resistivity on the electrical performance of the overall circuit structure. | Mingyang Song Quangui Li Qianting Hu Yanqing Wu Guanhua Ni Yangcheng Xu Yuebing Zhang Liangping Hu Jialin Shi Jichuan Liu Yize Deng | 2022 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2022,32,4: | 1
Machine learning-based solubility prediction and methodology evaluation of active pharmaceutical ingredients in industrial crystallization显示文摘Solubility has been widely regarded as a fundamental property of small molecule drugs and drug candidates,as it has a profound impact on the crystallization process.Solubility prediction,as an alternative to experiments which can reduce waste and improve crystallization process efficiency, has attracted increasing attention. However, there are still many urgent challenges thus far.Herein we used seven descriptors based on understanding dissolution behavior to establish two solubility prediction models by machine learning algorithms. The solubility data of 120 active pharmaceutical ingredients(APIs)in ethanol were considered in the prediction models, which were constructed by random decision forests and artificial neural network with optimized data structure and model accuracy.Furthermore,a comparison with traditional prediction methods including the modified solubility equation and the quantitative structure-property relationships model was carried out.The highest accuracy shown by the testing set proves that the ML models have the best solubility prediction ability.Multiple linear regression and stepwise regression were used to further investigate the critical factor in determining solubility value. The results revealed that the API properties and the solute-solvent interaction both provide a nonnegligible contribution to the solubility value. | Yiming Ma Zhenguo Gao Peng Shi Mingyang Chen Songgu Wu Chao Yang Jing-Kang Wang Jingcai Cheng Junbo Gong | 2022 | Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2022,16,4: | 1
Ferroptosis and endoplasmic reticulum stress in ischemic stroke显示文摘Ferroptosis is a form of non-apoptotic programmed cell death, and its mechanisms mainly involve the accumulation of lipid peroxides, imbalance in the amino acid antioxidant system, and disordered iron metabolism. The primary organelle responsible for coordinating external challenges and internal cell demands is the endoplasmic reticulum, and the progression of inflammatory diseases can trigger endoplasmic reticulum stress.Evidence has suggested that ferroptosis may share pathways or interact with endoplasmic reticulum stress in many diseases and plays a role in cell survival.Ferroptosis and endoplasmic reticulum stress may occur after ischemic stroke. However, there are few reports on the interactions of ferroptosis and endoplasmic reticulum stress with ischemic stroke. This review summarized the recent research on the relationships between ferroptosis and endoplasmic reticulum stress and ischemic stroke, aiming to provide a reference for developing treatments for ischemic stroke. | Yina Li Mingyang Li Shi Feng Qingxue Xu Xu Zhang Xiaoxing Xiong Lijuan Gu | 2024 | Neural Regeneration Research2024,19,3: | 1

Identification of African swine fever virus MGF505-2R as a potent inhibitor of innate immunity in vitro显示文摘African swine fever(ASF)is etiologically an acute, highly contagious and hemorrhagic disease caused by African swine fever virus(ASFV).Due to its genetic variation and phenotypic diversity, until now,no efficient commercial vaccines or therapeutic options are available. The ASFV genome contains a conserved middle region and two flexible ends that code for five multigene families(MGFs),while the biological functions of the MGFs are not fully characterized. Here,ASFV MGF505-2R-deficient mutant ASFV-Δ2R was constructed based on a highly virulent genotype II field isolate ASFV CN/GS/2018 currently circulating in China.Transcriptomic profiling demonstrated that ASFV-Δ2R was capable of inducing a larger number of differentially expressed genes(DEGs)compared with ASFV CN/GS/2018.Hierarchical clustering of up-regulated DEGs revealed that ASFV-Δ2R induced the most dramatic expression of interferon-related genes and inflammatory and innate immune genes,as further validated by RT-qPCR.The GO and KEGG pathway analysis identified significantly enriched pathways involved in pathogen recognition and innate antiviral immunity.Conversely, pharmacological activation of those antiviral immune responses by exogenous cytokines, including type I/II IFNs,TNF-αand IL-1β,exerted combinatory effects and synergized in antiviral capacity against ASFV replication.Collectively,MGF505-2R is a newly identified inhibitor of innate immunity potentially implicated in immune evasion. | Huaguo Huang Wen Dang Zhengwang Shi Mingyang Ding Fan Xu Tao Li Tao Feng Haixue Zheng Shuqi Xiao | 2023 | Virologica Sinica2023,38,1: | 0
Polymorphism of the 86th amino acid in CX26 protein and hereditary deafness显示文摘Objective: To investigate the membrane localization function of the CX26 protein when its 86 th amino acid is Thr, Ser or Arg, and its relations to deafness. Methods: CX26-GFP protein with either Thr, Ser or Arg as the 86 th amino acid was expressed in mouse SGN cells via the GFP fusion type lentivirus expression system. The membrane localization of the fusion protein was observed under a fluorescence microscope. Results: The mutated protein of CX26 T86 S was localized to cell membrane and form gap conjunction structures, showing no difference to the wild type CX26 protein(with Thr as the 86 th amino acid). However, the gap conjunction structure disappeared when the mutation was CX26T86 A.Conclusion: These results indicate that the CX26 T86 R mutation may be a cause of hearing loss, but CX26 T86 S as a non-pathogenic polymorphism mutation does not affect functions of the CX26 protein. | 14 | The effect of ride experience on changing opinions toward autonomous vehicle safety显示文摘Autonomous vehicles(AVs)are a promising emerging technology that is likely to be widely deployed in the near future.People's perception on AV safety is critical to the pace and success of deploying the AV technology.Existing studies found that people's perceptions on emerging technologies might change as additional information was provided. To investigate this phenomenon in the AV technology context, this paper conducted real-world AV experiments and collected factors that may associate with people's initial opinions without any AV riding experience and opinion change after a successful AV ride.A number of ordered probit and binary probit models considering data heterogeneity were employed to estimate the impact of these factors on people's initial opinions and opinion change. The study found that people's initial opinions toward AV safety are significantly associated with people's age, personal income, monthly fuel cost, education experience, and previous AV experience.Further, the factors dominating people's opinion change after a successful AV ride include people's age, personal income, monthly fuel cost, daily commute time, driving alone indicator, willingness to pay for AV technology, and previous AV experience. These results provide important references for future implementations of the AV technology.Additionally, based on the inconsistent effects for variables across different models, suggestions for future transportation survey designs are provided. | Xiaowei Shi Zhen Wang Xiaopeng Li Mingyang Pei | 2021 | Communications in Transportation Research2021,1,1: | 0
Morphology and Function of the Aortic Valve after Transcatheter Closure of Ventricular Septal Defect with Aortic Valve Prolapse显示文摘Objective:This study aims to evaluate the morphology and function of the aortic valve after transcatheter closure of ventricular septal defect(VSD)with aortic valve prolapse(AVP)abased on clinical and radiological outcomes. Methods:From January 2013 to November 2014,164 consecutive patients(97 males,59.1%)with VSD and AVP were treated by transcatheter closure. The patients were divided into the mild AVP group(n=63),moderate AVP group(n=89)and severe AVP group(n=12).The clinical and radiological outcomes of these patients were analyzed retrospectively. Results:In total,146(89.0%)patients were successfully treated with VSD occluders, including 59/63(93.7%)with mild AVP,80/89(89.9%)with moderate AVP and 7/12(58.3%)with severe AVP.The degree of AVP was ameliorated or disappeared in 39(26.7%)patients,and remained unchanged in 103(70.5%)patients after the intervention. In the 35 patients who initially had trivial-to-moderate aortic regurgitation(AR),the degree of AR was ameliorated or disappeared in 25(71.4%)patients,aggravated from trivial to mild AR in 1(2.9%)patient,and remained unchanged in 9(25.7%)patients.In 111 patients without AR,1(0.9%)patient had mild AR and 24(21.6%)patients had trivial AR after intervention. The depth and width of the prolapsed aortic valve decreased after transcatheter closure of VSD in all three groups.During the 70-month(range,54–77)follow-up period,no patients with AVP and AR needed an aortic valve intervention. Conclusions:Transcatheter closure of VSD with AVP is feasible. The morphology and function of the prolapsed aortic valve improved and remained stable for a long period after intervention. | Wenqian Zhang Chaojie Wang Lingmei Zhou Junjie Li Jijun Shi Yumei Xie Mingyang Qian Shushui Wang Zhiwei Zhang | 2021 | Congenital Heart Disease2021,16,5: | 0

Human thermal comfort under lateral radiant asymmetries显示文摘Occupants’thermal comfort in buildings may be affected by the cool wall and warm wall, which is attributed to the effect of asymmetric radiation. However, the previous majority of the researches on asymmetric radiation were mainly about the comfort limits under thermally neutral condition within 1∼1.5 h but had not considered the effect of exposure duration and the condition beyond neutral. To investigate the human thermal comfort under an asymmetric environment caused by the cool wall and warm wall,forty-four subjects were exposed to neutral air temperature with lateral radiant asymmetries in winter and summer for 3 h.The results indicated that the cool wall caused thermal discomfort easier than the warm wall because the thermal sensation decreased and deviated from neutral with time.Subjects’sensitivity of local parts to asymmetric radiation was affected in the conditions beyond neutral, thus their acceptability to asymmetric radiation decreased. The currently used limits of radiant temperature asymmetry tended to underestimate the local discomfort due to the walls. For the conditions tested,The limits of 5%dissatisfaction in radiant temperature asymmetry were 4.4°C(180 min)and 1.8°C(60 min and 120 min)for the warm wall, and 1.8°C at 60 min for the cool wall. | Siru Gao Liu Yang Mingyang Shi Shengkai Zhao Xiang Zhou Yongchao Zhai | 2023 | Energy and Built Environment2023,4,4: | 0
A Predictive Nomogram for Predicting Improved Clinical Outcome Probability in Patients with COVID-19 in Zhejiang Province,China显示文摘The aim of this research was to develop a quantitative method for clinicians to predict the probability of improved prognosis in patients with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Data on 104 patients admitted to hospital with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 infection from 10 January 2020 to 26 February 2020 were collected.Clinical information and laboratory findings were collected and compared between the outcomes of improved patients and non-improved patients. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)logistics regression model and two-way stepwise strategy in the multivariate logistics regression model were used to select prognostic factors for predicting clinical outcomes in COVID-19 patients. The concordance index(C-index)was used to assess the discrimination of the model, and internal validation was performed through bootstrap resampling.A novel predictive nomogram was constructed by incorporating these features.Of the 104 patients included in the study(median age 55 years),75(72.1%)had improved short-term outcomes, while 29(27.9%)showed no signs of improvement. There were numerous differences in clinical characteristics and laboratory findings between patients with improved outcomes and patients without improved outcomes. After a multi-step screening process, prognostic factors were selected and incorporated into the nomogram construction, including immunoglobulin A(IgA),C-reactive protein(CRP),creatine kinase(CK),acute physiology and chronic health evaluation II(APACHE II),and interaction between CK and APACHE II.The C-index of our model was 0.962(95%confidence interval(CI),0.931-0.993)and still reached a high value of 0.948 through bootstrapping validation.A predictive nomogram we further established showed close performance compared with the ideal model on the calibration plot and was clinically practical according to the decision curve and clinical impact curve. The nomogram we constructed is useful for clinicians to predict improved clinical outcome probability for each COVID-19 patient, which may facilitate personalized counselling and treatment. | Jiaojiao Xie Ding Shi Mingyang Bao Xiaoyi Hu Wenrui Wu Jifang Sheng Kaijin Xu Qing Wang Jingjing Wu Kaicen Wang Daiqiong Fang Yating Li Lanjuan Li | 2022 | Engineering2022,8,1: | 0
