1Progress of Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA)显示文摘Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA) will take the advantage of the ultra-low background of CJPL lab and high current accelerator based on an ECR source and a highly sensitive detector to directly study for the first time a number of crucial reactions occurring at their relevant stellar energies during the evolution of hydrostatic stars. In its first phase, JUNA aims at the direct measurements of^(25)Mg(p,γ)^(26)Al,^(19)F(p,α)^(16)O,^(13)C(α,n)^(16)O and ^(12)C(α,γ)^(16)O reactions. The experimental setup,which includes an accelerator system with high stability and high intensity, a detector system, and a shielding material with low background, will be established during the above research. 2CILP-2 is a novel secreted protein and associated with insulin resistance显示文摘Genetic association studies have implicated that cartilage intermediate layer protein 2 (CILP-2) confers the risk susceptibility for type 2 diabetes (T2DM). However, it is still unknown whether CILP-2 is involved in the regulation of glucose homeostasis and insulin resistance (IR). In the current study, we initially observed that CILP-2 as a secreted protein was detected in both conditioned medium and lysates of cells transfected with an overexpressed vector. We then found that circulating CILP-2 levels had a progressive increase from normal to impaired glucose tolerance (a pre-diabetic status) and then to diabetes, which was correlated positively with waist-to-hip ratio, triglyceride, fasting blood glucose, 2-h blood glucose after glucose overload, HbA1c, fasting insulin, 2-h plasma insulin after glucose overload, and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance but negatively with HDL-C. CILP-2 expression was increased in the liver and muscle but decreased in adipose tissues of obese mice or T2DM patients. Furthermore, we demonstrated that CILP-2 circulating levels were affected by OGTT and Exenatide. CILP-2 overexpression resulted in impaired glucose tolerance and hepatic IR in vivo and increased PEPCK expression whereas suppressed phosphorylation of insulin receptor and Akt kinase in vitro. 3Advances of nanoparticles as drug delivery systems for disease diagnosis and treatment显示文摘Decades have passed since the first nanoparticles-base medicine was approved for human cancer treatment, and the research and development of nanoparticles for drug delivery are always undergoing.Nowadays, the significant advances complicate nanoparticles’ branches, including liposomes, solid lipid nanoparticles, inorganic nanoparticles, micelles, nanovaccines and nano-antibodies, etc. These nanoparticles show numerous capabilities in treatment and diagnosis of stubborn diseases like cancer and neurodegenerative diseases, emerging as novel drug carriers or therapeutic agents in future. In this review, the complicated branches of nanoparticles are classified and summarized, with their property and functions concluded. Besides, there are also some delivery strategies that make nanoparticles smarter and more efficient in drug delivery, and frontiers in these strategies are also summarized in this review. 4A high-quality sponge gourd(Luffa cylindrica)genome显示文摘Sponge gourd(Luffa cylindrica)is an important cultivated vegetable and medicinal plant in the family Cucurbitaceae.In this study,a draft genome sequence of the sponge gourd inbred line P93075 was analyzed.Using Illumina,PacBio,and 10×Genomics sequencing techniques as well as new assembly techniques such as FALCON and chromatin interaction mapping(Hi-C),a chromosome-scale genome of approximately 656.19 Mb,with an N50 scaffold length of 48.76 Mb,was generated.From this assembly,25,508 protein-coding gene loci were identified,and 63.81%of the whole-genome consisted of transposable elements,which are major contributors to the expansion of the sponge gourd genome.According to a phylogenetic analysis of conserved genes,the sponge gourd lineage diverged from the bitter gourd lineage approximately 41.6 million years ago.Additionally,many genes that respond to biotic and abiotic stresses were found to be lineage specific or expanded in the sponge gourd genome,as demonstrated by the presence of 462 NBS-LRR genes,a much greater number than are found in the genomes of other cucurbit species;these results are consistent with the high stress resistance of sponge gourd.Collectively,our study provides insights into genome evolution and serves as a valuable reference for the genetic improvement of sponge gourd.Haibin Wu Gangjun Zhao Hao Gong Junxing Li Caixia Luo Xiaoli He Shaobo Luo Xiaoming Zheng Xiaoxi Liu Jinju Guo Junqiu Chen Jianning Luo 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:2
5A Preliminary Study on Effects of Four Urban Greenbelt Types on Human Comfort in Shenzhen,P.R.China显示文摘Foururban greenbelttypesincluding roadsidegreenbelt, resident-area greenbelt, landscapeforest, and forest park, were simultaneously investigated in Shenzhen, China, in such measures as air temperature, air humidity, wind speed, air anion ratio, and inhalabal particle concentration, which were strongly related with pleasing feeling of human body. The results show that the average air temperature in both forest park and landscape forest is much closer to the pleasing feeling of human body temperature than that of the rest two greenbelts, where it is 1.782 oC and 0.837 oC in forest park as well as 3.084 oC and 2.140 oC in landscape forest less than that of roadside and resident-area greenbelts, respectively. In terms of mean air humidity, forest park and landscape forestare 3.034% and 7.563% higher than that of roadside greenbelt, and 1.205% and 5.734% higher than that of resident-area greenbelt, respectively, implying a sound humidity feeling of human comfort in the formertwo types. The air cleanness holds a descending rank as forest park, landscape forest, resident-area greenbelt, and roadside greenbelt, whereas the rank in inhalable particle concentration is completely reverse. In general, landscapeforestand forestpark that mainly consistof trees haveacomparatively higher feeling of human comfort whereas roadside and resident-area greenbeltsfluctuate irregularly to some extent for themeasures studied. 8An adjusted ELISpot-based immunoassay for evaluation of SARS-CoV-2-specific T-cell responses显示文摘Like antibody evaluation,using an effective antigen‐specific T‐cell immunity assessment method in coronavirus disease 2019(COVID‐19)patients,survivors and vaccinees is crucial for understanding the immune persistence,prognosis assessment,and vaccine development for COVID‐19.This study evaluated an empirically adjusted enzyme‐linked immunospot assay for detecting severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS‐CoV‐2)‐specific T‐cell immunity in 175 peripheral blood samples from COVID‐19 convalescents and healthy individuals.Results of viral nucleic acid were used as the gold standard of infection confirmation.The SARS‐CoV‐2M peptide pool had higher sensitivity of 85%and specificity of 71%for the single peptide pool.For combined peptide pools,the parallel evaluation(at least one of the peptide pools is positive)of total peptide pools(S1&S2&M&N)had higher sensitivity(up to 93%),and the serial evaluation(all peptide pools are positive)of total peptide pools had higher specificity(up to 100%).The result of the serial evaluation was better than that of the parallel evaluation as a whole.The detection efficiency of M and N peptide pool serial evaluation appeared the highest,with a sensitivity of 80%and specificity of 93%.This T‐cell immunity detection assay introduced in this report can achieve high operability and applicability.Therefore,it can be an effective SARS‐CoV‐2‐specific cellular immune function evaluation method.Hao Lin Jie Zhang Shaobo Dong Yaning Liu Peipei Liu George F.Gao William J.Liu Guizhen Wu 2022Biosafety and Health2022,4,3:1
9Improvement of in situ LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating method for carbonate minerals and its application in petroleum geology显示文摘In situ carbonate U-Pb dating is gaining popularity,and it has great potential for application in petroleum geology.However,the low U content(<10μg/g)and high common Pb content of carbonate minerals,along with the uneven distribution of U and Pb and the lack of matrix-matched reference material make carbonate U-Pb dating inaccurate and less successful,which limits the widespread application in geosciences.This study evaluated the limitations of in situ carbonate U-Pb dating and proposed a method to rationally determine the laser ablation parameters of samples by improving the experimental approach based on the laser ablation sector field inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(LA-SF-ICP-MS).By setting a different spot size and laser frequency for the reference material and unknown samples in the same session based on the U content of the sample,the ablation craters of the reference material and unknown samples were given the same depth/width ratio,avoiding systematic offset caused by differences in down-hole element fractionation and reducing the consume of reference material.Depending on the heterogeneous distribution of U and Pb contents in carbonate minerals,the method of grid screening and setting ablation spots during screening were used to quickly select domains with high U and low common Pb,which improves the efficiency of setting laser spots and the success rate of dating,as well as reduces the experimental time and economic cost.The accuracy and success rate of carbonate U-Pb dating were effectively improved by improving the experimental method,and the technique was applied to two carbonate samples with low U and high common Pb contents that were difficult to date by traditional methods.The two samples are the saddle dolomite in the central Sichuan Basin and the calcite cement in the sandstone reservoir of the Cretaceous Qingshuihe Formation in the South Junggar Basin.The robust ages have been obtained,which constrains the timing of the diagenetic and hydrocarbon accumulation process in the studied area.Xuesong Lu Lili GUI Weiyan CHEN Shaobo LIU Shitou WU Junjia FAN Qiang LIU Jing SUN Liangliang ZHANG Yang XIAO Wenxia YANG Rizhou CAO 2023Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,12:1

11Effects of topography and vegetation on distribution of rare earth elements in calcareous soils显示文摘This study investigated the impact of topography and vegetation on distribution of rare earth elements(REEs)in calcareous soils using methods of single extraction and mass balance calculation. The purposes of the study were to set a basis for further research on the biogeochemical REE cycle and to provide references for soil–water conservation and REE-containing fertilizer amendments. The results show a generally flat Post-Archean Average Australian Shale—normalized REE pattern for the studied calcareous soils. REE enrichment varied widely. The proportion of acidsoluble phases of heavy REEs was higher than that of light REEs. From top to bottom of the studied hills, dominant REE sources transitioned from limestone in-situ weathering to input from REE-containing phases(e.g., clay minerals,amorphous iron, REE-containing fluids). 16Coupling Relationship between Shelf-Edge Trajectories and Slope Morphology and Its Implications for Deep-Water Oil and Gas Exploration: A Case Study from the Passive Continental Margin, East Africa显示文摘Both the shelf-edge trajectories and slope morphology are indicative of deep-water sedimentation, but previous studies are relatively independent from each other in the two dimensions. An integrated investigation can enhance the understanding of deep-water sedimentary systems and enrich reservoir prediction methods. Based on the bathymetry data and seismic data published, this study identified ten slope areas at the continental margin of East Africa and classified the clinoforms into three types: concave-up, sigmoidal and planar. Combined with the distribution of main modern rivers in East Africa, nine modern source-to-sink systems were identified and the catchment area is positively correlated with the size of the shelf-edge delta. It is found that the slope morphology of East Africa is closely related to the geological setting, sediment supply and sediment transport pathway in submarine canyon of passive continental margin. When the sediment supply is stable, the concave-up slopes are dominated by the river-associated and shelf-incising canyons and the sigmoidal slopes are determined by the headless canyons. There exists a strong coupling relationship between the shelf-edge trajectories and slope morphology. In general, concave-up slopes correspond to descending trend, flat and low-angle ascending trend shelf-edge trajectories and high-quality reservoirs developed on the basin floor under the influence of river-associated and shelf-incising canyons which have bright prospects for oil and gas exploration. Additionally, sigmoidal slopes usually correspond to descending trend, flat and low-angle ascending trend shelf-edge trajectories at times of relative sea-level fall and the reservoirs mostly developed on the upper slope under the influence of headless canyons. Moreover, the planar slopes correspond to high-angle ascending trend trajectories which are hardly potential for exploration. 17Binary-ternary transition metal chalcogenides interlayer coupling in van der Waals type-II heterostructure for visible-infrared photodetector with efficient suppression dark currents显示文摘Ternary two-dimentional(2D)materials exhibit diverse physical properties depending on their composition,structure,and thickness.Through forming heterostructures with other binary materials that show similar structure,there can be numerous potential applications of these ternary 2D materials.In this work,we reported the structure of few-layer CrPS_(4)by X-ray diffraction,transmission electron microscope,and electron-density distribution calculation.We also demonstrated a new application of the CrPS_(4)/MoS_(2)heterobilayer:visible-infrared photodetectors with type-II staggered band alignment at room temperature.The response of the heterostructure to infrared light results from a strong interlayer coupling that reduces the energy interval in the junction area.Since the intrinsic bandgap of individual components determines wavelengths,the decrease in energy interval allows better detection of light that has a longer wavelength.We used photoluminescence(PL)spectroscopy,Kelvin probe force microscopy(KPFM)under illumination,and electrical transport measurements to verify the photoinduced charge separation between the CrPS_(4)/MoS_(2)heterostructures.At forward bias,the device functioned as a highly sensitive photodetector,as the wavelength-dependent photocurrent measurement achieved the observation of optical excitation from 532 to 1,450 nm wavelength.Moreover,the photocurrent caused by interlayer exciton reached around 1.2 nA at 1,095 nm wavelength.Our demonstration of the strong interlayer coupling in the CrPS_(4)/MoS_(2)heterostructure may further the understanding of the essential physics behind binary-ternary transition metal chalcogenides heterostructure and pave a way for their potential applications in visible-infrared devices.Guoliang Xu Danmin Liu Songyu Li Yi Wu Zhenlu Zhang Shaobo Wang Zikun Huang Yongzhe Zhang 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:0

19ROBUSTNESS OF HYBRID NEUTRAL DIFFERENTIAL SYSTEMS PERTURBED BY NOISE显示文摘This paper considers a given neutral functional system under regime switching whose solution grows at most polynomially.Can the system tolerate Brownian noise and colour noise to preserve the polynomial growth if the system is subject to another environment noise?
