| 1 | Altered trends in carbon uptake in China’s terrestrial ecosystems under the enhanced summer monsoon and warming hiatus显示文摘The carbon budgets in terrestrial ecosystems in China are strongly coupled with climate changes.Over the past decade,China has experienced dramatic climate changes characterized by enhanced summer monsoon and decelerated warming.However,the changes in the trends of terrestrial net ecosystem production(NEP)in China under climate changes are not well documented.Here,we used three ecosystem models to simulate the spatiotemporal variations in China's NEP during 1982–2010 and quantify the contribution of the strengthened summer monsoon and warming hiatus to the NEP variations in four distinct climatic regions of the country.Our results revealed a decadal-scale shift in NEP from a downtrend of–5.95 Tg C/yr^2(reduced sink)during 1982–2000 to an uptrend of 14.22 Tg C/yr^2(enhanced sink)during 2000–10.This shift was essentially induced by the strengthened summer monsoon,which stimulated carbon uptake,and the warming hiatus,which lessened the decrease in the NEP trend.Compared to the contribution of 56.3%by the climate effect,atmospheric CO2 concentration and nitrogen deposition had relatively small contributions(8.6 and 11.3%,respectively)to the shift.In conclusion,within the context of the global-warming hiatus,the strengthening of the summer monsoon is a critical climate factor that enhances carbon uptake in China due to the asymmetric response of photosynthesis and respiration.Our study not only revealed the shift in ecosystem carbon sequestration in China in recent decades,but also provides some insight for understanding ecosystem carbon dynamics in other monsoonal areas. | Honglin He Shaoqiang Wang Li Zhang Junbang Wang Xiaoli Ren Lei Zhou Shilong Piao Hao Yan Weimin Ju Fengxue Gu Shiyong Yu Yuanhe Yang Miaomiao Wang Zhongen Niu Rcmg Ge Huimin Yan Mei Huang Guoyi Zhou Yongfei Bai Zongqiang Xie Zhiyao Tang Bingfang Wu Leiming Zhang Nianpeng He Qiufeng Wang Guirui Yu | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,3: | 24 |
| 2 | MicroRNA-23a promotes colorectal cancer cell migration and proliferation by targeting at MARK1显示文摘The functional role of microRNA-23a in tumorigenesis has been investigated;however, the exact mechanism of microRNA-23a (miR-23a) in colorectal cancer development has not been fully explored. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the molecular functional role of miR-23a in colorectal carcinogenesis. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction was conducted to investigate the expression level of miR-23a in tissue samples and cell lines (HCT116 and SW480). CCK-8, colony formation and Transwell assay were used to explore the role of miR-23a in cell proliferation and migration. Dual luciferase reporter assay was used to identify the direct binding of miR-23a with its target, MARK1. Western blot analysis was used to analyze the expression level of MARK1, as well as a confirmed miR-23a target gene, MTSS1, in miR-23a-mimic and miR-23a-inhibit groups. Rescue experiments were conducted by overexpression of MARK1 in miR-23a-mimic-transfected cell lines. The results showed that miR-23a was highly expressed in colorectal cancer tissue and cell lines. MiR-23a could promote proliferation and migration of colorectal cancer cell lines. MARK1 was a direct target of miR-23a and the expression level of MARK1 was down-regulated in miR-23a-mimic-transfected cell lines but up-regulated in miR-23a-inhibit-transfected cells. Overexpression of MARK1 could partly reverse the cancer-promoting function of miR-23a. Our results suggested that miR-23a promotes colorectal cancer cell proliferation and migration by mediating the expression of MARK1. | 3 | Relationship Between 2:1 Mineral Structure and the Fixation and Release of Cations显示文摘The effects of different structures of 2:1 layer minerals, layer charge location, and changes of structure and charge during the weathering process on the fixation and release of interlayer cations are reviewed. It could be concluded that the fixation capacity is determined by the total amount of interlayer charge originating from both octahedral and tetrahedral sheets. The relationship between interlayer cation fixation and octahedral structure of the secondary minerals may be different from that of the primary minerals. | 4 | New features of the Moon revealed and identified by CLTM-s01显示文摘Previous analyses showed a clear asymmetry in the topography,geological material distribution,and crustal thickness between the nearside and farside of the Moon. Lunar detecting data,such as topography and gravity,have made it possible to interpret this hemisphere dichotomy. The high-resolution lunar topographic model CLTM-s01 has revealed that there still exist four unknown features,namely,quasi-impact basin Sternfeld-Lewis (20°S,232°E),confirmed impact basin Fitzgerald-Jackson (25°N,191°E),crater Wugang (13°N,189°E) and volcanic deposited highland Yutu (14°N,308°E). | 5 | A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. | 6 | Sedimentary record of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in Lake Erhai,Southwest China显示文摘The temporal distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) was investigated in a sediment core from Lake Erhai in Southwest China using gas-chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) method.The total organic carbon (TOC) normalized total PAHs concentrations (sum of US Environmental Protection Agency proposed 16 priority PAHs) ranged from 31.9 to 269 μg/g dry weight (dw),and were characterized by a slowly increasing stage in the deeper sediments and a sharp increasing stage in the upper sediments.The PAHs in the sediments were dominated by low molecular weight (LMW) PAHs,suggesting that the primary source of PAHs was low-and moderate temperature combustion processes.However,both the significant increase in high molecular weight (HMW) PAHs in the upper sediments and the vertical profile of diagnostic ratios pointed out a change in the sources of PAHs from low-temperature combustion to high-temperature combustion.The ecotoxicological assessment based on consensus-based sediment quality guidelines implied that potential adverse biological impacts were possible for benzo(ghi)perylenelene and most LMW PAHs.In addition,the total BaP equivalent quotient of seven carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (BaA,CHr,BbF,BkF,BaP,DBA and INP) was 106.1 ng/g,according to the toxic equivalency factors.Although there was no great biological impact associated with the HMW PAHs,great attention should be paid to these PAH components based on their rapid increase in the upper sediments. | Jianyang Guo Zhang Liang Haiqing Liao Zhi Tang Xiaoli Zhao Fengchang Wu | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,8: | 6 |
| 7 | Low-temperature sintering and microwave dielectric properties of CaMg1−xLi2xSi2O6(x=0−0.3)ceramics显示文摘In this study, low-temperature fired CaMg1−xLi2xSi2O6 microwave dielectric ceramics were prepared via the traditional solid-state reaction method. In this process, 0.4 wt% Li2CO3-B2O3-SiO2-CaCO3-Al2O3 (LBSCA) glass was added as a sintering aid. The results showed that ceramics consisted of CaMgSi2O6 as the main phase. The second phases were CaSiO3 always existing and Li2SiO3 occurring at substitution content x > 0.05. Li+ substitution effectively lowered sintering temperature due to 0.4 wt% LBSCA and contributed to grain densification, and the most homogeneous morphology could be observed at x = 0.05. The effects of relative density, the second phase, and ionic polarizability on dielectric constant (εr) were investigated. The quality factor (Q × f) varied with packing fraction that concerned the second phase. Moreover, the temperature coefficient of the resonant frequency (τf) was influenced by MgO6 octahedral distortion and bond valence. Excellent dielectric properties of the CaMg1−xLi2xSi2O6 ceramic was exhibited at x = 0.05 with εr = 7.44, Q × f = 41,017 GHz (f = 15.1638 GHz), and τf = −59.3 ppm/°C when sintered at 900 °C. The molecular structures of a total of tweenty three new target compounds were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, ESI-MS and HR-MS. Subsequently, their antidiabetic activities were screened in vitro. The α-glucodase inhibition (α-GI) activity of compound 1e reached a remarkable level of 66.50%. The peroxisome proliferatoractivated receptor (PPAR) relative activation activities of six compounds are above 80%, and in particular 2i displays an unprecedentedly high PPAR of 130.91%. | 11 | An Arabidopsis thaliana (Ler) inbred line AFDL exhibiting abnormal flower development mainly caused by reduced AP1 expression显示文摘The genetic network controlling flowering and flower development consists of a set of floral integrator genes that play a role in light sensing,hormone signaling and developmental pathways.These integrators activate the expression of meristem identity genes LEAFY (LFY) and APETALA1 (AP1) to initiate the flowering transition.However,how the expression of key genes,such as AP1,responds to diverse signals during flower development remains largely unknown.Here,we report that an Arabidopsis abnormal flower development inbred line (AFDL) exhibits a phenotype similar to the ap1 mutant,with delayed flowering time and a high frequency of transition of flower meristems into inflorescence meristems after flowering.The flower organs with an abnormal first whorl lack the second whorl and the increased number of inflorescences at the first-and second-whorl positions most closely resembled the phenotypes of ap1/cal double mutants.Interestingly,both normal and abnormal flowers coexisted in a single individual.Microarray and quantitative real-time PCR analysis revealed that the expression of AP1 was significantly reduced,while the expression of its interacting genes TERMINAL FLOWER 1 (TFL1),SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE (SVP),AGAMOUS-like 24 (AGL24),SEPALLATA (SEP) and CAULIFLOWER (CAL) and upstream genes FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) and FLM were increased in AFDL,which could serve to explain its phenotype.The expression of genes responsive to different stimuli dramatically changed in AFDL relative to the wild type,as revealed by the differential display of transcripts,indicating that this expression variation is subject to a threshold,leading to an on/off expression pattern of the master regulatory gene (such as AP1) of flower development. | QI XiaoLi JIANG Yao TANG Fang WANG MinJie HU JianJun ZHAO ShuTang SHA Wei LU MengZhu | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,1: | 4 |

| 13 | Chang’E-1 orbiter discovers a lunar nearside volcano: YUTU Mountain显示文摘In the day time of the Moon surface, the strong illumination from high altitude and high albedo rate radical craters will introduce the illumination effect on observing the nearby low altitude, low albedo rate and shallow small slop rate area seriously, and even can 'hide' the later area from the light. Based on the lunar global topography model obtained by Chang’E-1 mission, and by comparing with the lunar gravity model, a volcano named 'YUTU Mountain' has been identified. It is a volcano with diameter of ~300 km and height of ~2 km located at (14°N, 308°E) in Oceanus Procellarum. Besides, the DEM of another volcano named 'GUISHU Mountain' in the same area has been improved. | 14 | Study on the interaction between diphenhydramine and erythrosin by absorption,fluorescence and resonance Rayleigh scattering spectra显示文摘In pH 4.5 Britton-Robinson(BR)buffer solution,erythrosin(ET)can react with diphenhydramine(DP)to form a 1:1 ion-association complex,which not only results in the change of the absorption spectra,but also results in the great enhancement of resonance Rayleigh scattering(RRS)and the quenching of fluorescence.Furthermore,a new RRS spectrum will appear,and the maximum RRS wavelength was located at about 580 nm.In this work,the spectral characteristics of the absorption,fluorescence and RRS,the optimum conditions of the reaction and the properties of an analytical chemistry were inves- tigated.A sensitive,simple and new method for the determination of DP by using erythrosin as a probe has been developed.The detection limits for DP were 0.0020μg/mL for RRS method,0.088μg/mL for absorption method and 0.094μg/mL for fluorophotometry.There was a linear relationship between the absorbance,RRS and fluorescence intensities and the drug concentration in the range of 0.0067-2.0, 0.29-6.4 and 0.31-3.2μg/mL,respectively.The effects of the interaction of diphenhydramine and erythrosin on the absorption,fluorescence and resonance Rayleigh scattering spectra were discussed. | 15 | DID Code:A Bridge Connecting the Materials Genome Engineering Database w让h Inheritable Integrated Intelligent Manufacturing显示文摘A data identifier(DID)is an essential tag or label in all kinds of databases—particularly those related to integrated computational materials engineering(ICME),inheritable integrated intelligent manufacturing(I3M),and the Industrial Internet ofThings.With the guidance and quick acceleration of the developme nt of advanced materials,as envisioned by official documents worldwide,more investigations are required to construct relative numerical standards for material informatics.This work proposes a universal DID format consisting of a set of build chains,which aligns with the classical form of identifier in both international and national standards,such as ISO/IEC 29168-1:2000,GB/T 27766-2011,GA/T 543.2-2011,GM/T 0006-2012,GJB 7365-2011,SL 325-2014,SL 607-201&WS 363.2-2011,and QX/T 39-2005.Each build chain is made up of capital letters and numbers,with no symbols.Moreover,the total length of each build chain is not restricted,which follows the formation of the Universal Coded Character Set in the international standard of ISO/IEC 10646.Based on these rules,the proposed DID is flexible and convenient for extendi ng and sharing in and between various cloud-based platforms.Accordingly,classical two-dimensional(2D)codes,including the Hanxin Code,Lots Perception Matrix(LP)Code,Quick Response(Q.R)code,Grid Matrix(GM)code,and Data Matrix(DM)Code,can be constructed and precisely recognized and/or decoded by either smart phones or specific machines.By utilizing these 2D codes as the fingerprints of a set of data linked with cloud-based platforms,progress and updates in the composition-processing-structure-property-performance workflow process can be tracked spontaneously,paving a path to accelerate the discovery and manufacture of advanced materials and enhance research productivity,performance,and collaboration. | William Yi Wang Peixuan Li Deye Lin Bin Tang Jun Wang Quanmei Guan Qian Ye Haixing Dai Jun Gao Xiaoli Fan Hongchao Kou Haifeng Song Feng Zhou Jijun Ma Zi-Kui Liu Jinshan Li Weimin Liu | 2020 | Engineering2020,6,6: | 4 |
| 16 | Preventative effect of massage on gastric volvulus in infants with gastroesophageal reflux-induced pneumonia显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To study the preventative effects of massage on gastric volvulus(GV) in infants with gastroesophageal reflux(GER)-induced pneumonia.METHODS:One-hundred and eighty GV with GER-induced pneumonia inpatients were divided randomly into four groups:basic treatment 1(n =60),basic treatment 2(n = 30),massage treatment1(n = 60) and massage treatment 2(n = 30).Clinical examinations selected between groups 1 and 2were different.Radiography of the upper gastrointestinal tract using iodine-containing contrast was assessed in group 1 before and after treatment,whereas 24-h pH monitoring of the distal esophagus was assessed in group 2 before and after treatment.Symptom scores and chest radiography were assessed in all groups upon hospital admission and after procedures.Clinical effects were estimated after procedures in all groups.The prevalence of severe pneumonia among the four groups was compared.RESULTS:Massage treatment groups showed a significantly higher percentage of cure and total effect(P<0.05,P<0.01) and a lower prevalence of recurrence(but with no statistic difference,P>0.05)than basic treatment groups.Furthermore,massage treatment groups had remarkably lower scores for symptoms and signs(P<0.05,P<0.01),especially for choking on milk,than basic treatment groups.There was significant attenuation of chest inflammation(P<0.05,P<0.01),GV(P<0.05,P<0.01) and GER(P<0.05,P<0.01) in massage treatment groups compared with those in basic treatment groups.Finally,massage treatment groups demonstrated a lower prevalence of severe pneumonia than basic treatment groups(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Massage treatment can prevent GV with GER-induced pneumonia in infants by timely correction of stomach rotation and subsequent attenuation of GER. | Yan Suqi Xiong Xiaoli Wan Qi Liu Fan Tang Jianqiao Jiang Zhixia Zhou Lishan Yuan Kai Xie Dong | 2015 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,5: | 3 |
| 17 | Scanning for signatures of geographically restricted selection based on population genomics analysis显示文摘Natural selection, as the driving force of human evolution, has direct impact on population differentiation. However, it is still unclear to what extent the genetic differentiation has been caused by natural selection. To explore this question, we performed a genome-wide scan with single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) data from the International HapMap Project. Single locus FST analysis was applied to assess the frequency difference among populations in autosomes. Based on the empirical distribution of FST, we identified 12669 SNPs correlating to population differentiation and 1853 candidate genes subjected to geographic restricted natural selection. Further interpretation of gene ontogeny revealed 121 categories of biological process with the enrichments of candidate genes. Our results suggest that natural selection may play an important role in human population differentiation. | 19 | A genome-wide association study uncovers a critical role of the RsPAP2 gene in red-skinned Raphanus sativus L.显示文摘Radish(Raphanus sativus L.)taproot contains high concentrations of flavonoids,including anthocyanins(ATCs),in redskinned genotypes.However,little information on the genetic regulation of ATC biosynthesis in radish is available.A genome-wide association study of radish red skin color was conducted using whole-genome sequencing data derived from 179 radish genotypes.The R2R3-MYB transcription factor production of anthocyanin pigment 2(PAP2)gene was found in the region associated with a leading SNP located on chromosome 2.The amino acid sequence encoded by the RsPAP2 gene was different from those of the other published RsMYB genes responsible for the red skin color of radish.The overexpression of the RsPAP2 gene resulted in ATC accumulation in Arabidopsis and radish,which was accompanied by the upregulation of several ATC-related structural genes.RsPAP2 was found to bind the RsUFGT and RsTT8 promoters,as shown by a dual-luciferase reporter system and a yeast one-hybrid assay.The promoter activities of the RsANS,RsCHI,RsPAL,and RsUFGT genes could be strongly activated by coinfiltration with RsPAP2 and RsTT8.These findings showed the effectiveness of GWAS in identifying candidate genes in radish and demonstrated that RsPAP2 could(either directly or together with its cofactor RsTT8)regulate the transcript levels of ATC-related genes to promote ATC biosynthesis,facilitating the genetic enhancement of ATC contents and other related traits in radish. | Lianxue Fan YanWang Liang Xu Mingjia Tang Xiaoli Zhang Jiali Ying Cui Li Junhui Dong Liwang Liu | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 2 |
