22018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 3The Reference Genome of Tea Plant and Resequencing of 81 Diverse Accessions Provide Insights into Its Genome Evolution and Adaptation显示文摘Tea plant is an important economic crop,which is used to produce the world's oldest and most widely consumed tea beverages.Here,we present a high-quality reference genome assembly of the tea plant(Camellia sinensis var.sinensis)consisting of 15 pseudo-chromosomes.LTR retrotransposons(LTR-RTs)account for 70.38%of the genome,and we present evidence that LTR-RTS play critical roles in genome size expansion and the transcriptional diversification of tea plant genes through preferential insertion in promoter regions and introns.Genes,particularly those coding for terpene biosynthesis pro-teins,associated with tea aroma and stress resistance were significantly amplified through recent tandem duplications and exist as gene clusters in tea plant genome.Phylogenetic analysis of the sequences of 81 tea plant accessions with diverse origins revealed three well-differentiated tea plant populations,support-ing the proposition for the southwest origin of the Chinese cultivated tea plant and its later spread to western Asia through introduction.Domestication and modern breeding left significant signatures on hundreds of genes in the tea plant genome,particularly those associated with tea quality and stress resis-tance.The genomic sequences of the reported reference and resequenced tea plant accessions provide valuable resources for future functional genomics study and molecular breeding of improved cul-tivars of tea plants.Enhua Xia Wei Tong Yan Hou Yanlin An Linbo Chen Qiong Wu Yunlong Liu Jie Yu Fangdong Li Ruopei Li Penghui Li Huijuan Zhao Ruoheng Ge Jin Huang Ali Inayat Mallano Yanrui Zhang Shengrui Liu Weiwei Deng Chuankui Song Zhaoliang Zhang Jian Zhao Shu Wei Zhengzhu Zhang Tao Xia Chaoling Wei Xiaochun Wan 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,7:51
4Efficacy of postoperative adjuvant transcatheter arterial chemoembolization in hepatocellular carcinoma patients with microvascular invasion显示文摘AIM To investigate the efficacy and safety of postoperative adjuvant transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(PA-TACE) in preventing tumor recurrence and improving survival in Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC) early(A) and intermediate(B) stage hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) patients with microvascular invasion(MVI).METHODS A total of 519 BCLC A or B HCC patients treated by liver resection alone or followed by PA-TACE between January 2012 and December 2015 were studied retrospectively. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to investigate the risk factors for recurrence-free survival(RFS) and overall survival(OS). Multiple logistic regression was used to identify the clinicopathological characteristics associated with MVI. The rates of RFS and OS were compared among patients with or without MVI treated with liver resection alone or followed by PA-TACE. RESULTS Univariate and multivariate analyses demonstrated that serum AFP level > 400 ng/m L, tumor size > 5 cm, tumor capsule invasion, MVI, and major hepatectomy were risk factors for poor OS. Tumor capsule invasion, MVI, tumor size > 5 cm, HBV-DNA copies > 1 x 104 IU/m L, and multinodularity were risk factors for poor RFS. Multiple logistic regression identified serum AFP level > 400 ng/m L, tumor size > 5 cm, and tumor capsule invasion as independent predictors of MVI. Both OS and DFS were significantly improved in patients with MVI who received PA-TACE as compared to those who underwent liver resection alone. 5Tillage and straw mulching impacts on grain yield and water use efficiency of spring maize in Northern Huang–Huai–Hai Valley显示文摘A two-year field experiment(2012–2013) was conducted to investigate the effects of two tillage methods and five maize straw mulching patterns on the yield, water consumption,and water use efficiency(WUE) of spring maize(Zea mays L.) in the northern Huang–Huai–Hai valley of China. Compared to rotary tillage, subsoil tillage resulted in decreases in water consumption by 6.3–7.8% and increases in maize yield by 644.5–673.9 kg ha-1, soil water content by 2.9–3.0%, and WUE by 12.7–15.2%. Chopped straw mulching led to higher yield,soil water content, and WUE as well as lower water consumption than prostrate whole straw mulching. Mulching with 50% chopped straw had the largest positive effects on maize yield, soil water content, and WUE among the five mulching treatments. Tillage had greater influence on maize yield than straw mulching, whereas straw mulching had greater influence on soil water content, water consumption, and WUE than tillage. 6Large and meso-α scale characteristics of intense rainfall in the mid- and lower reaches of the Yangtze River显示文摘Meteorological conditions associated with intense rainfall and great floods over mid- and lower reaches of Yangtze River are studied by analyzing the large-, synoptic-and meso-a-scale circulation systems for 1991, 1996 and 1998. It is found that the advance and retreat of subtropical high over the West Pacific, the monsoon moisture surge from the South China Sea, cold air outbreak over mid- and high-latitudes, and the meso-α scale systems (250-2500 km) from the Tibetan Pleateau as well, are responsible for intense rainfall over the Yangtze River Valley. 7Features of the EAP events on the medium-range evolution process and the mid-and high-latitude Rossby wave activities during the Meiyu period显示文摘In this paper,features for the evolution of the East Asia/Pacific(EAP) events and their association with high-and mid-latitude Rossby waves during the Meiyu period are analyzed on the medium-range time scale.It is shown that life cycles of the positive and negative EAP events cannot be simply regarded as 'mirror' each other.In the upper troposphere,downward propagations of Rossby wave packets both over high-and mid-latitude regions of Eurasian continent and over the Asian jet region are responsible for generating basic patterns of high-and mid-latitude anomaly centers of the events.In this layer,Rossby wave packets also propagate from the mid-latitude anomaly center to the high-latitude one.In the middle and lower troposphere,the formation of the subtropical anomaly center of the event is mainly attributed to the anomalous convective activity in the tropical Pacific warm pool.The northward Rossby wave energy dispersion from this center is favorable to the enhancement and maintenance of the mid-latitude anomaly center in the same layer.Finally,it might be hypothesized that typical features of the positive and negative EAP events in their mature phase result from the interaction between(or phase-locking of) respective anomalous circulations induced both by quasi-zonal Rossby wave packets embedded in upper troposphere westerly and by quasi-meridional Rossby wave packets in the background flow of the East Asian summer monsoon in the middle and lower troposphere.BUEH Cholaw SHI Ning JI LiRen WEI Jie TAO ShiYan 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,4:23
8Effect of scraping therapy on Interleukin-1 in serum of rats with lumbar disc herniation显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To explore the effect of scraping therapy on the Interleukin-1 (IL-1) levels of rats with lumbar disc herniation (LDH). METHODS: Fifty male rats were devided into a blank group (A), a sham operation group (B), a model group (C), a scraping group (D), and a drug group (E). The rats in the group B were treated with sham operation, and groups C, D and E were made into the LDH model by operation. After operation group C were treated with no interventions, D were given scraping and E were fed with azathioprine Then the IL-1 levels of different groups were detected by enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay method. And the transplanted coccygeal vertebra discs were observed by pathological section. RESULTS: The IL-1 levels in the groups C, D, and E were significantly higher than those in the groups A and B (all P<0.01), which proved the operationwas successful.The IL-1 levels in the groups D and E at different periods had statistical significance (F= 414.158, P<0.01). The treatment periods and interventions have interation (F=46.613, P<0.01). Multiple comparison results showed that the IL-1 levels in the groups D and E was significantly lower than that in the group C (P<0.01), while the IL-1 levels between the groups D and E had no statistical significance (P>0.05). Moreover, pathological section indicated that immuno-inflammatory response was hardly found in coccygeal vertebra discs in the groups A and B, while local immuno-inflammatory responses of the groups D and E were much lighter than that of the group C. 9Mechanisms of aid-leaching reagent calcium fluoride in the extracting vanadium processes from stone coal显示文摘The mechanisms of aid-leaching reagent calcium fluoride in the extracting vanadium processes were researched by comparing the blank extraction with the extraction with calcium fluoride as aid-leaching reagent. The leaching experiments were carried out under the conditions of 95 ℃, 6h, 1.5 mlg-1 , 15 vol % H2SO4 , and 5 % calcium fluoride (mass ratio of CaF2 to stone coal). The concentrations of hydrogen ion were adjusted from initial 1.82 and 4.79 mol L -1 to the pH of 1.80 ± 0.05 by 200 g L-1 lime milk, respectively. The solvent extraction experiments were carried out under the organic phase using 15 vol% D2EHPA, 5 vol% TBP, and 80 vol% sulfonated kerosene and O/A phase ratio of 1/4. The leaching rate of vanadium and six-stage countercurrent solvent extraction rate of vanadium can be remarkably improved from 66.71 to 92.97 % and 81.15 to 98.81 %, respectively, when calcium fluoride was added as aid-leaching reagent. In the leaching process, fluorine can enhance the breakage of the structure of vanadium-bearing minerals. Meanwhile, fluoride ion can combine with iron ion to generate acid-insoluble iron fluoride hydrate (Fe2F57H2O) and consume all ferric ions and a portion of ferrous ions. In adjusting pH value process, the massive impurities are decreased to form KAlSO4 and FeAlF5 . 11Ion Channel Genes and Epilepsy:Functional Alteration,Pathogenic Potential,and Mechanism of Epilepsy显示文摘Ion channels are crucial in the generation and modulation of excitability in the nervous system and have been implicated in human epilepsy. Forty-one epilepsyassociated ion channel genes and their mutations are systematically reviewed. In this paper, we analyzed the genotypes, functional alterations(funotypes), and phenotypes of these mutations. Eleven genes featured loss-offunction mutations and six had gain-of-function mutations.Nine genes displayed diversified funotypes, among which a distinct funotype-phenotype correlation was found in SCN1A. 12Human ESC-derived expandable hepatic organoids enable therapeutic liver repopulation and pathophysiological modeling of alcoholic liver injury显示文摘We report the generation of human ESC-derived,expandable hepatic organoids(hEHOs)using our newly established method with wholly defined(serum-free,feeder free)media.The hEHOs stably maintain phenotypic features of bipotential liver stem/progenitor cells that can differentiate into functional hepatocytes or cholangiocytes.The hEHOs can expand for 20 passages enabling large scale expansion to cell numbers requisite for industry or clinical programs.The cells from hEHOs display remarkable repopulation capacity in injured livers of FRG mice following transplantation,and they differentiate in vivo into mature hepatocytes.If implanted into the epididymal fat pads of immune-deficient mice,they do not generate non-hepatic lineages and have no tendency to form teratomas.We further develop a derivative model by incorporating human fetal liver mesenchymal cells(hFLMCs)into the hEHOs,referred to as hFLMC/hEHO,which can model alcoholic liver disease-associated pathophysiologic changes,including oxidative stress generation,steatosis,inflammatory mediators release and fibrosis,under ethanol treatment.Our work demonstrates that the hEHOs have considerable potential to be a novel,ex vivo pathophysiological model for studying alcoholic liver disease as well as a promising cellular source for treating human liver diseases.Shuyong Wang Xuan Wang Zuolong Tan Yuxin Su Juan Liu Mingyang Chang Fang Yan Jie Chen Tao Chen Chuanjiang Li Jie Hu Yunfang Wang 2019Cell Research2019,29,12:20

14Primary hepatic epithelioid angiomyolipoma: A malignant potential tumor which should be recognized显示文摘AIM: To improve the clinical diagnosis and recognition of hepatic epithelioid angiomyolipoma(HEAML).METHODS: Four cases of primary HEAML were confirmed based on the pathology archive system in our hospital from January 2009 to November 2015. The general state, clinical symptoms, imaging manifestations, histological results and immunohistochemistry of these patients were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed. Studies of HEAML published in the last 15 years were collected from Pub Med and MEDLINE to summarize the clinical symptoms, imaging characteristics, pathological features and management of HEAML.RESULTS: Four cases of primary HEAML were retrieved from our archives. These included three female patients and one male patient, with a mean age of 41.8 ± 11.5 years(ranging from 31 to 56 years). The meantumor size was 7.3 ± 5.5 cm(ranging from 3.0 to 15 cm). In the contrast-enhanced imaging, the tumor was obviously enhanced in the arterial phase, but enhanced continuously or exhibited a slow-density masse during the venous and delayed phases. Histologically, the tumors mainly consisted of epithelioid cells that comprised approximately 95% of the total neoplastic mass. Although no metastases occurred in our patients, pathological studies revealed necrosis, mitotic figures and liver invasion in two patients, which indicates aggressive behavior. Immunohistochemical staining revealed that human melanoma black 45(HMB-45) and Melan-A were positive in 4 cases. We only identified 81 cases with primary HEAML, including our present patients, from 26 articles available from Pub Med and MEDLINE. The majority of the papers were published as case reports. Only 5(5/75, 6%) cases were associated with tuberous sclerosis complex(TSC). More than half(35/66) were discovered incidentally upon physical examination. Approximately 65%(22/34) of the patients were misdiagnosed with HCC or other tumors before surgery. Approximately 10%(8/81) of the patients with HEAML had recurrence or metastasis after surgery, which was a very high and alarming rate.CONCLUSION: HEAML is a very rare primary hepatic tumor that is often misdiagnosed before surgery. 15An Integrated Analysis of Risk Factors of Cognitive Impairment in Patients with Severe Carotid Artery Stenosis显示文摘Objective To investigate cognitive dysfunction in patients with carotid artery stenosis(CAS) and potential risk factors related to cognitive-especially memory-dysfunction. Methods Forty-seven patients with carotid artery stenosis were recruited into our study cohort. The Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE) and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA) were adopted to assess cognitive function, the Wechsler Memory Scale(WMS) to assess memory function, high-resolution MRI and enhanced ultrasound to evaluate carotid plaques, and computed tomography perfusion(CTP) imaging to evaluate intracranial blood perfusion. Single-factor analysis and multiple-factor regression analysis were used to analyze potential risk factors of cognitive impairment. Results Mini-Mental State Examination test results showed that 22 patients had cognitive impairment, and MoCA test results showed that 10 patients had cognitive impairment. Analysis of various risk factors indicated that the average memory quotient of female patients was higher than that of males(P = 0.024). The cognitive and memory performance of those with an educational background above high school were significantly better than those of participants with high school or lower(P = 0.045). Patients with abnormal intracranial perfusion performed worse on the MMSE test(P = 0.024), and their WMS scores were significantly lower(P = 0.007). The MMSE scores and the memory quotients were significantly lower in patients with a history of cerebral infarction(MMSE, P = 0.047, memory quotient score, P = 0.018). Conclusion A history of cerebral infarction and abnormal cerebral perfusion are associated with decline in overall cognitive function and memory in patients with carotid stenosis. 16The role of the HIF-1α/ALYREF/PKM2 axis in glycolysis and tumorigenesis of bladder cancer显示文摘Background:As a rate-limiting enzyme of glycolysis,pyruvate kinase muscle isozyme M2(PKM2)participates in tumor metabolism and growth.The regulatory network of PKM2 in cancer is complex and has not been fully studied in bladder cancer.The 5-methylcytidine(m5C)modification in PKM2 mRNA might participate in the pathogenesis of bladder cancer and need to be further clarified.This study aimed to investigate the biological function and regulatory mechanism of PKM2 in bladder cancer.Methods:The expression of PKM2 and Aly/REF export factor(ALYREF)was measured by Western blotting,qRT-PCR,and immunohistochemistry.The bioprocesses of bladder cancer cells were demonstrated by a series of experiments in vitro and in vivo.RNA immunoprecipitation,RNA-sequencing,and dualluciferase reporter assays were conducted to explore the potential regulatory mechanisms of PKM2 in bladder cancer.Results:In bladder cancer,we first demonstrated that ALYREF stabilized PKM2 mRNA and bound to its m5C sites in 3′-untranslated regions.Overexpression of ALYREF promoted bladder cancer cell proliferation by PKM2-mediated glycolysis.Furthermore,high expression of PKM2 and ALYREF predicted poor survival in bladder cancer patients.Finally,we found that hypoxia-inducible factor-1alpha(HIF-1α)indirectly up-regulated the expression of PKM2 by activating ALYREF in addition to activating its transcription directly.Conclusions:The m5C modification in PKM2 mRNA in the HIF-1α/ALYREF/PKM2 axis may promote the glucose metabolism of bladder cancer,providing a new promising therapeutic target for bladder cancer.Jing-Zi Wang Wei Zhu Jie Han Xiao Yang Rui Zhou Hong-Cheng Lu Hao Yu Wen-Bo Yuan Peng-Chao Li Jun Tao Qiang Lu Ji-Fu Wei Haiwei Yang 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,7:17
17Qingfei Xiaoyan Wan,a traditional Chinese medicine formula, ameliorates Pseudomonas aeruginosa–induced acute lung inflammation by regulation of PI3K/AKT and Ras/MAPK pathways显示文摘Gram-negative pathogen–induced nosocomial infections and resistance are a most serious menace to global public health. Qingfei Xiaoyan Wan(QF), a traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)formula, has been used clinically in China for the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections, acute or chronic bronchitis and pulmonary infection. In this study, the effects of QF on Pseudomonas aeruginosa–induced acute pneumonia in mice were evaluated. The mechanisms by which four typical antiinflammatory ingredients from QF, arctigenin(ATG), cholic acid(CLA), chlorogenic acid(CGA) and sinapic acid(SPA), regulate anti-inflammatory signaling pathways and related targets were investigated using molecular biology and molecular docking techniques. The results showed that pretreatment with QF significantly inhibits the release of cytokines(TNF-α and IL-6) and chemokines(IL-8 and RANTES),reduces leukocytes recruitment into inflamed tissues and ameliorates pulmonary edema and necrosis. In addition, ATG was identified as the primary anti-inflammatory agent with action on the PI3K/AKT and Ras/MAPK pathways. CLA and CGA enhanced the actions of ATG and exhibited synergistic NF-κB inactivation effects possibly via the Ras/MAPK signaling pathway. Moreover, CLA is speculated to target FGFR and MEK firstly. 19Rhododendron Molle(Ericaceae):phytochemistry,pharmacology,and toxicology显示文摘Rhododendron molle G. Don, belonging to the Ericaceae family, is a traditional Chinese medicinal plant with a wide spectrum of pharmacological effects. This paper aimed to review the phytochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology of R. molle, and to discuss the tendency of future investigations on this plant. A systematic review of literature about R. molle was carried out using resources including classic books about Chinese herbal medicine, and scientific data bases including CNKI, Pubmed, Sci Finder, Scopus, and Web of Science. Over 67 compounds, including diterpenes, triterpenes, flavonoids, and lignans, had been extracted and identified from R. molle. The extracts/monomers isolated from the root, flower and fruits of this plant were used as effective agents for treating pains, inflammatory diseases, hypertension, and pest, etc. In addition, diterpenes, such as rhodojaponin III, were considered as the toxic agents associated with the toxicities of this plant.
