| 1 | Removal characteristics of microplastics by Fe-based coagulants during drinking water treatment显示文摘Microplastics have caused great concern worldwide recently due to their ubiquitous presence within the marine environment. Up to now, most attention has been paid to their sources,distributions, measurement methods, and especially their eco-toxicological effects. With microplastics being increasingly detected in freshwater, it is urgently necessary to evaluate their behaviors during coagulation and ultrafiltration(UF) processes. Herein, the removal behavior of polyethylene(PE), which is easily suspended in water and is the main component of microplastics, was investigated with commonly used Fe-based salts. Results showed that although higher removal efficiency was induced for smaller PE particles, low PE removal efficiency(below 15%) was observed using the traditional coagulation process, and was little influenced by water characteristics. In comparison to solution pH, PAM addition played a more important role in increasing the removal efficiency, especially anionic PAM at high dosage(with efficiency up to 90.9%). The main reason was ascribed to the dense floc formation and high adsorption ability because of the positively charged Fe-based flocs under neutral conditions. For ultrafiltration, although PE particles could be completely rejected,slight membrane fouling was caused owing to their large particle size. The membrane flux decreased after coagulation; however, the membrane fouling was less severe than that induced by flocs alone due to the heterogeneous nature of the cake layer caused by PE, even at high dosages of Fe-based salts. | 7 | G protein-coupled receptor LGR6 is an independent risk factor for colon adenocarcinoma显示文摘LGR6 is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family that plays a tumor-suppressive role in colon cancer. However, the relationship between LGR6 expression in patients and clinicopathological factors remains unclear. This study aimed to clarify whether the expression level of LGR6 is correlated with colon adenocarcinoma progression. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect LGR6 expression in colon adenoma tissues (n = 21), colon adenocarcinoma tissues (n = 156), and adjacent normal tissues (n = 124). The expression levels of LGR6 in colon adenoma and adenocarcinoma were significantly higher than those in normal colon epithelial tissues (P < 0.001). Low LGR6 expression predicted a short overall survival in patients with colon adenocarcinoma (log-rank test, P = 0.016). Univariate and multivariate survival analyses showed that, in addition to N and M classification, LGR6 expression served as an independent prognostic factor. | 8 | Responses of the Sea Surface Temperature and Suspended Matter Concentration to ENSO Events in the Bohai Sea显示文摘The sea surface temperature(SST)and sea surface suspended matter concentration data in the Bohai Sea were collected by multiple NOAA satellites from 1985 to 2018.The background calibration method was used to correct the systematic errors caused by the long-term observations through multiple NOAA satellites in this paper.Then,we studied the long-term variations of the sea surface temperature(SST)and sea surface suspended matter concentration(SSC)and their response to ENSO events in the Bohai Sea.Our results show that the SST and SSC of the Bohai Sea have been increasing since 1985,with an average rate of 0.04℃per year for SST,which is higher than the global average.The average increasing rate of SSC was 0.51 mg L^(-1)yr^(-1),which may be mainly due to the enhancement of winter monsoon in the Bohai.In winter,the SST and SSC of the Bohai Sea were higher in El Niño years than in La Niña years.In El Niño years,the ocean circulations were the main factor affecting the variation in SST.The robust circulation system caused by the strong winter monsoon enhances the water exchange between the cold water of the Bohai Sea and the warm water of the Yellow Sea,resulting in a higher SST in La Niña years.In summer,the SSTs of the Bohai Sea were lower in El Niño years than those in the La Niña years because of the decrease of the SST in the Western Pacific Ocean,the weakening of the subtropical high in the western Pacific,and its eastward shift caused by the El Niño events. | LIU Xue DING Dong LI Guangxue ZHANG Yang LIU Shidong WANG Nan ZHONG Yi YANG Xue PAN Yufeng YU Di ZHANG Lei XUE Wenjing | 2023 | Journal of Ocean University of China2023,22,3: | 1 |

| 11 | UV light absorbers executing synergistic effects of passivating defects and improving photostability for efficient perovskite photovoltaics显示文摘Metal halide perovskite-based solar cells(PSCs) have rapidly-increased power conversion efficiency(PCE)exceeding 25% but poor stability especially under ultraviolet(UV) light. Meanwhile, non-radiative recombination caused by diverse defects in perovskite absorbers and related interfaces is one of the major factors confining further development of PSCs. In this study, we systematically investigate the role of 2-(2-hydroxy-5-methylphenyl)benzotriazole(UVP) additive in perovskite layers. By adjusting the amount of doped UVP, the quality of perovskite absorbers is significantly improved with enlarged grains, longer lifetime and diffusion length of charge carriers. Furthermore, UVP not only reduces defects for less nonradiative recombination, but also matches energy level alignment for efficient interfacial charge extraction. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy confirms that N-donor of UVP molecule coordinates with undercoordinated Pb^(2+) on the surface. Interestingly, UVP incorporated in PbI_(2) protects the perovskite by absorbing UV through the opening and closing of the chelating ring. Eventually, the UVP treated PSCs obtain a champion PCE of 22.46% with remarkably enhanced UV stability, retaining over 90% of initial PCE after 60 m W/cm^(2) strong UV irradiation for 9 h while the control maintaining only 74%. | 15 | Diagnostic Value of NPAR,MHR,GLU and Coronary Heart Disease Complicated with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus显示文摘[Objectives]To explore the relationship between neutrophil percentage to albumin ratio(NPAR),monocyte to high density lipoprotein ratio(MHR),fasting blood glucose(GLU)and CAD+T2DM and its diagnostic value.[Methods]A total of 3937 patients who underwent coronary angiography in the Affiliated Hospital of Chengde Medical University from January 2016 to December 2018 were collected.The patients with Gensini score>0 and diabetes were selected as the experimental group(CAD+T2DM,n=756),and the patients with Gensini score=0 and without diabetes were taken as the control group(n=388),with a total of 1144 cases.The patient's medical record number,sex,age,contact number,biochemical test results,cardiac color ultrasound,coronary artery imaging and other data were recorded.NPAR,MHR,and GLU were calculated.A binary Logistic regression model was established combined with the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve.The predictive value of single index and joint test for CAD+T2DM was analyzed.[Results]The serum levels of NPAR,MHR and GLU in CAD+T2DM were significantly higher than those in the control group.Binary Logistic regression analysis showed that serum NPAR,MHR and GLU were risk factors for CAD+T2DM(P<0.05).The final prediction model is P=1/[1+e-(-3.722+0.014×NPAR+0.51×MHR+0.461×GLU)].ROC curve showed that the area under the curve of serum NPAR,MHR and GLU was 0.739,0.628 and 0.852,respectively,and the prediction probability of combined detection was 0.882,which was significantly higher than that of single index.[Conclusions]There was a close correlation between serum NPAR,MHR,GLU and CAD+T2DM in patients with coronary heart disease.The combined application of these indexes can significantly improve the predictive value of CAD+T2DM. | Wenjing ZHANG Chao LIU Fei SHI Wei QIN Zhenjiang DING Weichao SHAN | 2021 | Medicinal Plant2021,12,6: | 1 |

| 20 | A novel gene-activated matrix composed of PEI/plasmid-BMP2 complexes and hydroxyapatite/chitosan-microspheres promotes bone regeneration显示文摘The incorporation of pro-osteogenic growth factors into bone graft materials to enhance bone regeneration is a key research area within the field of bone tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.However,growth factors directly incorporated in protein form are easily degraded,and have a limited active half-life,which cannot exert long-term and stable osteoinductive and oteoconductive effects.The combination of gene therapy and tissue engineering through gene-activated matrix(GAM)may provide a good alternative solution to overcome such limitations.Scaffold materials can be combined together with plasmid DNA and a chemical-based transfection agent to form GAM,through which transfected cells could secrete growth factors in a sustained manner over a longer time duration;thereby enabling bone graft materials to act as a repository of therapeutic genes,while providing structural support and a scaffold matrix for new bone tissue ingrowth.In this study,we prepared hydroxyapatite/chitosan-microspheres(HA/CS-MS)with microfabrication technology and emulsification method,and loaded the polyethylene imine/bone morphogenetic protein 2 plasmid(PEI/pBMP2)complexes with high transfection capacity(transfection efficiency up to 54.79%±4.95%),thus forming a novel GAM system with superior bone regeneration capacity—PEI/pBMP2-HA/CS-MS.The in vitro experiments in this study demonstrated that our GAM had excellent biocompatibility(with cell viability over 95%),and that the as-fabricated microsphere material possessed a nano-network fibrous structure similar to natural extracellular matrix(ECM),together with a higher surface area that can provide more cell adhesion sites.The sizes of the prepared microspheres were mainly distributed in the 160–180μm range,while the maximal loading rate of PEI-pBMP2 complexes was 59.79%±1.85%.As a loaded complexes system,the GAM can release plasmids in a slow controlled manner,effectively transfecting surrounding target cells(release effect for up to 21 days),while cells adherent to the material can also take up plasmids,resulting in sustained secretion of the target protein,thereby effectively promoting bone regeneration.In vivo data from micro-computed tomography(micro-CT)and histological staining showed that the use of the composite materials effectively enhanced bone regeneration in defect areas.These findings thus demonstrated that the novel GAM system had excellent osteoinductivity with significant clinical potential. | Ruyuan Ding Yajun Liu Dawei Cheng Gang Yang Wenjing Wu Haoran Du Xin Jin Yihan Chen Yuanyin Wang Boon Chin HENG Qing Yang Jianguang XU | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,7: | 0 |
