| 1 | Ecological optimization of an irreversible harmonic oscillators Carnot heat engine显示文摘A model of an irreversible quantum Carnot heat engine with heat resistance,internal irreversibility and heat leakage and many non-interacting harmonic oscillators is established in this paper. Based on the quantum master equation and semi-group approach,equations of some important performance parameters,such as power output,efficiency,exergy loss rate and ecological function for the irreversible quantum Carnot heat engine are derived. The optimal ecological performance of the heat engine in the classical limit is analyzed with numerical examples. Effects of internal irreversibility and heat leakage on the ecological performance are discussed. | 4 | Characteristics of authigenic pyrites in shallow core sediments in the Shenhu area of the northern South China Sea: Implications for a possible mud volcano environment显示文摘Distinct pyrites have been recovered from a shallow sediment core from Site 4B in the Shenhu area of the northern South China Sea. Based on the lithology, texture and structure of sediments, the stable sulfur isotope of pyrite and the total organic carbon (TOC) concentration of the sediments, a distinctive sediment interface is identified at a depth of about 1 m below the seafloor in the core sediments. The pyrites only accumulate in the lower part of the core as rods and foraminifera-infillings, and mainly within three intervals marked by high pyrite concentrations. The amount of pyrite in the sediments shows no remarkable correlation with TOC in the Site 4B core sediments. The stable sulfur isotopes of the pyrite have extremely negative values ranging from 41.69‰ to 49.16‰. They are considered to be the mutual product of sulfate bacterial reduction and sulfur bacterial disproportionation. Our research proposes that Site 4B might be located in or near a possible mud volcano sedimentary environment; a large amount of methane could migrate from deep to shallow sediments in an active mud volcano and thereby play a key role in the intensity of sulfate bacterial reduction and the amount of pyrite formed at Site 4B. | 6 | Research and application of a power-flow-calculation method in multiterminal VSC-HVDC power grid显示文摘For demonstrating a multiterminal voltage-source converter(VSC)-based high-voltage DC(HVDC)(VSCHVDC) project, this study puts forward a technical route for calculating the power flow in a 500-kV VSC-HVDC power grid in comparison with that of an AC power grid. The Jacobian matrix used in the power-flow calculation was deduced through methods such as Newton–Laphson iteration and Taylor series expansion. Further, the operation effect of powerflow calculation on a true bipolar VSC-HVDC power grid was analyzed briefly. The elements of the Jacobian matrix corresponding to VSC were studied under the mode of droop control and the control strategy of VSC-HVDC power grid was analyzed in detail. The power-flow calculation model for VSC-HVDC power grid of the master–slave control mode was simplified using the PQ decomposition method of the power-flow calculation of an AC power grid. Moreover, a four-terminal model of the Zhangbei VSC-HVDC demonstration project was established and tested on MATLAB. The simulation results under two kinds of operating conditions were analyzed and compared to the results of BPA; the deviation between the power-flow results was studied. | 8 | Inorganic arsenic contamination of rice from Chinese major rice-producing areas and exposure assessment in Chinese population显示文摘This study examined the total arsenic(Ast) and inorganic arsenic(Asi) content in the main rice growing area of China. The results were compared with other countries and then used for dietary exposure assessment. A total of 446 rice samples from 15 main rice-growing provinces and autonomous regions of China were collected and then divided into unpolished and polished rice. Total arsenic and arsenic species were analyzed in a total of 892 subsamples using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry(ICP-MS) and high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) coupled ICP-MS, respectively. National Ast means were 255 μg/kg of unpolished rice and 143 μg/kg of polished rice. Asi was found to be the predominant species and mean levels were 209 μg/kg of unpolished rice and 108 μg/kg of polished rice, respectively. | 13 | Diagnosis and surgical treatment of intraveneous leiomyomatosis extending into the heart:two cases report and review of the literature显示文摘Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics,diagnosis and surgical treatment of intravenous leiomyomatosis(IVL),and outline the differences between Chinese and overseas cases.Methods:Clinical data of two IVL cases,treated in our hospital,were analyzed retrospectively and the related literature was also reviewed.The data of preoperative diagnostic rate,surgical procedures,and postoperative recurrence between patients in China and other countries were compared.Results:The first stage operation was performed successfully in 2 patients.However,they refused subsequent therapies,including a second stage operation to excise the remnants of the tumor,uterus,bilateral oviducts and ovaries,and anti-estrogen therapy.Both suffered from IVL recurrence,one at 6-month and the other at 9-month,and died at 16-month and 12-month respectively after the first stage surgery.Worldwide reports of 110 IVL cases were reviewed,which included 28 cases in China and 82 cases in other countries.In the majority of the Chinese patients,tumors only extended into the right atrium rather than the right ventricle(RA 22 cases vs RV 4 cases).However,among the overseas patients,the rate of extension into the right atrium was similar to that of extension into the right ventricle(RA 41 cases vs RV 38 cases).The rate of hysterectomies was not significantly different between Chinese and overseas patients(67.86% vs 55.9%,P=0.278).The rate of correct preoperative diagnosis in the Chinese patients was significantly lower than that in the overseas patients(32.14% vs 80%,P=0.000002),as well as the rate of complete excision of the tumor(22.7% vs 75.5%,P=0.000001).The proportion of patients who undergoing a single-stage or a two-stage operation was similar in Chinese and overseas patients.The recurrence rate was significantly higher in the Chinese patients than in the overseas patients(36.8% vs 9.1%,P=0.0055),and the patients with tumor recurrence were partial tumor excision patients.Conclusion:The possibility of IVL should be considered if echocardiography in female patients demonstrates a tumor in the right heart and a mass in the inferior vena cava(IVC).Further imaging should be performed to confirm the diagnosis.The correct diagnosis and accurate preoperative delineation of tumor extension are essential for an optimal surgical outcome.The key point in IVL treatment is the complete excision of tumors(single-stage or two-stage surgical procedure). | Xiaowei Wang Lin Zhang Yijiang Chen Shijiang Zhang Jianwei Qin Yanhu Wu Jinhua Luo | 2009 | Journal of Nanjing Medical University2009,23,5: | 5 |
| 14 | Mobility control of unmanned aerial vehicle as communication relay in airborne multi-user systems显示文摘In this paper, a model-based adaptive mobility control method for an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) acting as a communication relay is presented, which is intended to improve the network performance in airborne multi-user systems. The mobility control problem is addressed by jointly considering unknown Radio Frequency(RF) channel parameters, unknown multi-user mobility, and non-available Angle of Arrival(AoA) information of the received signal. A Kalman filter and a least-square-based estimation algorithm are used to predict the future user positions and estimate the RF channel parameters between the users and the UAV, respectively. Two different relay application cases are considered: end-to-end and multi-user communications. A line search algorithm is proposed for the former, with its stability given and proven, whereas a simplified gradient-based algorithm is proposed for the latter to provide a target relay position at each decision time step, decreasing the two-dimensional search to a one-dimensional search. Simulation results show that the proposed mobility control algorithms can drive the UAV to reach or track the optimal relay position movement, as well as improving network performance. | 15 | Efficient lung cancer-targeted drug delivery via a nanoparticle/MSC system显示文摘Low targeting efficiency limits the applications of nanoparticles in cancer therapy. The fact that mesenchymal stem cells(MSC) trapped in the lung after systemic infusion is a disadvantage for cell therapy purposes. Here, we utilized MSC as lung cancer-targeted drug delivery vehicles by loading nanoparticles(NP)with anti-cancer drug. MSC showed a higher drug intake capacity than fibroblasts. In addition, MSC showed predominant lung trapping in both rabbit and monkey. IR-780 dye, a fluorescent probe used to represent docetaxel(DTX) in NP, delivered via MSC accumulated in the lung. Both in vitro MSC/A549 cell experiments and in vivo MSC/lung cancer experiments validated the intercellular transportation of NP between MSC and cancer cells. In vivo assays showed that the MSC/NP/DTX drug delivery system exerted primary tumor inhibition efficiency similar to that of a NP/DTX drug system. | 19 | Desmoglein 2(DSG2) Is A Receptor of Human Adenovirus Type 55 Causing Adult Severe Community-Acquired Pneumonia显示文摘Human adenovirus type 55(HAdV-B55) is a re-emergent acute respiratory disease pathogen that causes adult communityacquired pneumonia(CAP). Previous studies have shown that the receptor of HAdV-B14, which genome is highly similar with HAdV-B55, is human Desmoglein 2(DSG2). However, whether the receptor of HAdV-B55 is DSG2 is undetermined because there are three amino acid mutations in the fiber gene between HAdV-B14 and HAdV-B55. Here, firstly we found the 3T3 cells, a mouse embryo fibroblast rodent cell line which does not express human DSG2, were able to be infected by HAdV-B55 after transfected with pcDNA3.1-DSG2, while normal 3T3 cells were still unsusceptible to HAdV-B55 infection. Next, A549 cells with h DSG2 knock-down by siRNA were hard to be infected by HAdV-B3/-B14/-B55, while the control siRNA group was still able to be infected by all these types of HAdVs. Finally, immunofluorescence confocal microscopy indicated visually that Cy3-conjugated HAdV-B55 viruses entered A549 cells by binding to DSG2 protein.Therefore, DSG2 is a major receptor of HAdV-B55 causing adult CAP. | 20 | Far-field coseismic gravity changes related to the 2015 MW7.8 Nepal(Gorkha)earthquake observed by superconducting gravimeters in Chinese mainland显示文摘Using data from five SGs at four stations in Chinese mainland,obvious permanent gravity changes caused by the 2015 MW7.8 Nepal(Gorkha)earthquake were detected.We analyzed the gravity effects from ground vertical deformation(VD)using co-site continuous GPS(cGPS)data collocated at the Lijiang and the Wuhan station,and hydrological effects using GLDAS models and groundwater level records.After removing these effects,SG observations before and after the earthquake revealed obvious permanent gravity changes:−3.0μGal,7.3μGal and 8.0μGal at Lhasa,Lijiang and Wuhan station,respectively.We found that the gravity changes cannot be explained by the results of dislocation theory. | LeLin Xing ZiWei Liu JianGang Jia ShuQing Wu ZhengSong Chen XiaoWei Niu | 2021 | Earth and Planetary Physics2021,5,2: | 4 |
